Beaches Ocho Rios Resort & Golf Club

We just got back last night and let me tell you, what a trip! It was myself, my husband, daughter(15 months) and son(6yrs old). From the moment we arrive the staff was very attentive. The resort was at 50% capacity but felt busy enough without being overwhelming. We chose Beaches because we had been to the other Beaches resorts. The entertainment staff was fun with contests, dancing, and overall kindness during our stay. The wait staff was great and always there if you needed anything.Lastly, the KIDS CLUB! We had to beg my 6 yr old to spend the day with us because he had so much fun there. They are constantly keeping the kids busy and doing new adventures. I was truly amazed that most everyone on the property knew both my daughter and son's name by the time we left. A huge shout out to ANESIA, JARDINE, NAHARINE, DAHLIAN, DYNA, SHARAH-KAY, LAVENE, SHANICE AND TAVIA. And for my son Owen a BIG SHOUT TO JONATHAN who he says is now his new best friend in Jamaica. These folks work so very hard to make your kids have a good time and they do so with ease. Top notch service with top notch staff.Thank you for a most memorable trip Beaches!!
Great for kids, wandering around, helping themselves to pizzas, burgers, crepes, cokes, ice creams all day everyday. Pools and slides are superb for children too. Food is varied and plentiful. Particular mention to Amoy in the pop up seafood place, she was the friendliest most genuine person we met during our stay here. Went on a couple of trips but not through hotel as was 4 times more expensive than booking direct.
Let me start off by saying that this is my honest, unbiased opinion and review of this all inclusive caribbean resort. I have visited 2 other all inclusive, but the first time with kids.First impression of the service to be had, was when we arrive at the Sandals/Beaches arrival lounge in Mobay. Not to mention finger foods and refreshments after a 24 hour travel time. I was antsy about the ride to the hotel, but we did know that it was 2 hours. ( not sure why people thought this was an issue as you know this when you book ). We learned a lot about Jamaica from our diver and even stopped for drinks half way. When we arrived at BOR, we were welcomed and our kids were immediately taught the had shake. Checking in was great. Told us to have a seat while having rum punch and they would take care of us. I booked the lowest category of room, hoping to save a little money so I was expecting MUCH less. To my surprise, we had a view of the ocean, our own private balcony, and right next to kids club, trench town, and the lobby. Best room in my option as the Greek terrace seemed to be not so private. There were obvious flaws with the room, things like cracked tile, scratches in the paint, and the crooked pictures and shower tile (lol). These type of things don't bother us, especially when the rest of our stay was great. The food, in my opinion, was delicious. even at Bayside buffet. The other 2 all inclusive resorts did not compare. Our kids always had something they loved, and not to mention the unlimited slushies and ice cream cones. The restaurants were very good and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get a table. There was a time of the day, 330-530pm where nothing was open to get food it seemed. The week were visited, the weather was not the greatest. Windy and sometimes chilly, and not as much sun as I would like. With that being said, most of the water activities were shut down most of our stay. ( do to the choppiness of the ocean )That was a tad disappointing, but not sure if would of anyways with it being "chilly" for me. The last day, we did get to use the kayaks and hobie cat. Some friends of ours did the snorkeling and said it was really good and they even show you were things were hiding. The beach was left much to be desired. But again, I knew this before I booked. Yes, there is a ton of seaweed, a lot...they do their best to keep if off the beach. The swimming area was flooded with it. I didn't like swimming in it, but I am partial to Hawaii beaches where there is none of that. THIS is the caribbean so this is all to be expected. Whether we were at the beach or the pool, we always had a drink in our hand if needed. There was always someone to wait on us hand and foot. One thing we were disappointed in, was the lack of tween activities. We were told the resort was only half full, so that is why so many of the planned tween/teen activities were canceled. I was a tad irritated by the last day as our tweens were looking forward to the activities and always cancelled last minute. In my opinion, no matter 5 tweens or 50, they should still cater to them as we still paid our fair share. Rushane was super friendly to both my husband and I, and as well as our kids. I can only imagine how much more our kids would have loved him if the activities had still went on. ALDANE at Neptunes was our favorite. He made our stay memorable and is now our friend. We always enjoyed his friendly nature and making us feel special for dinner. Most all the staff we encountered made our stay and made us want to return. They seemed to love their job, and didn't mind crazy children running around everywhere making messes. We hardly ever saw our kids. They were too busy at the water park, xbox lounge, or playing basketball. Our 9 yr old daughter liked the kids club, but only if Tamaya was in charge.Closing thoughts are that the resort has some where and tear but nothing to complain about. The tweens activities should NOT have been canceled, and the absence of water activities most our stay was sad (but not resorts fault ). Would I come back to BOR? ABSOLUTELY ! The warm, amazing staff, my husband and I having our own vacation in a sense , and our kids having an awesome time, is what makes me want to return. We already miss it, will have many memories to look back on. Thank you BOR and your staff.
This place makes travel with your kids seem easy. I am the father of 3 kids one of which has autism. I feel safe and secure at the beaches locations. This is our second time at a beaches resort and it is worth every penny. Ronnatte by the pool made sure my cup was never empty and my kids did not want for a thing. I love this place
We had a fabulous vacation! We spent pretty much all of our time at the resort as it was too windy to be in the ocean. Our kids really enjoyed Tween/Teen Club with Tamaya and Rushane. Ajago, and Alex were amazing entertainers and so much fun! Jardine was fabulous with my sister's 17 month old triplets. Stacy Ann in the dining area was so awesome too! We already miss all of the wonderful people at the resort! Thx for a great week!!!
