Good Hotel

We stayed here in November 2016 for my significant birthday, it was very nice though has been extended a lot since last time 20 years since. The food was very nice though the buffet diner kept having part waiter service which spoiled it a bit. The Jamaican restaurant was really good all the waiters were helpful & friendly. Only down side was we booked a horse riding trip that should have had an 8.45 pickup, no one turned up so the hotel staff had to ring the Thomson rep who said she had rung through the change that we were to be picked up at 11.30 which we did not get. She said they would make it a special day as it was my birthday , it was no different to what anyone else on the trip had. There was work going on in block 4 ground level and an almost constant smell of paint as they were painting all over the place.

Lovely, relaxing two weeks at Couples Tower Isle!

My husband and I arrived at Tower Isle for our two week holiday on New Years Eve, to celebrate New Year and my 50th birthday. We have previously stayed a couple of times at Couples Negril and decided to try another hotel in the group this time. After a long flight and the lengthy trip from the airport, we were welcomed by friendly staff at the reception desk and brought our choice of drinks from the bar by the fabulous Everald (such a friendly, efficient, hard-working man!).We had requested a quiet room, away from the lifts, with a nice view and were very pleased that our request had been accommodated (in building 5) by the Reservations Team. This building is a fairly long walk from the lobby, bars, restaurants, etc, so might not be good for those with limited walking abilities, but was perfect for us and just what we had asked for. Our room appeared to have been recently renovated as it was bright and clean with nothing looking tired or dated. The bed and pillows were REALLY comfortable. The bathroom (no bath, just a shower) was small but clean and fairly modern and had everything that you could need.We dined in all of the restaurants and really enjoyed them all. Quality of food was excellent and service was always professional and friendly. We like to dress up for dinner and enjoy A La Carte dining and found that Tower Isle is perfect for this - although many others were just as easily able to have more relaxed evenings in their shorts and flip flops at the less formal eating places. Whatever you want to do, is not a problem here. We had no difficulty booking any of the A La Carte restaurants so took advantage at dining at all of them a number of times during our two week stay (thank you Chavelle and Tanya for looking after us so well!).On the evening of my 50th birthday, we had the Private Dinner on the Island which was wonderful! There was a set menu of soup, salad, steak and lobster and a chocolate desert, which was fabulous! We were sat under the stars, listening to the waves crash against the rocks and wonderfully looked after by our waiter and the chef (sorry, we can't remember their names).Choice of drinks was great and service at the bars was generally good - although perhaps not as good as we have experienced at Couples Negril. The Piano Bar was a nice option, although it seemed a little "sad" compared to Negril. There was no lighting behind the bar which made it feel as if someone had forgotten to put all the lights on and there was a serving hatch for waiting staff from the other restaurants to use for their drinks orders, which resulted in constant interruptions for the bar staff. May be little points, but definitely made us feel that this bar was not quite as good as it could have been.Bar staff seem to work really hard and often seem to be working late at night and then again early the next morning. ClayAndrew seemed to be one of the hardest working barmen and yet still had time for a quick chat whenever he saw us.Another member of staff who stood out for us was Odrae - one of the waiters in the restaurants. We gave him our names the first time we saw him (at lunch) and every time he saw us after that day, he remember our names and called out to us and stopped for a chat about our day. He was a lovely man and made us smile every time we saw him!Watersports were plentiful, although some were unavailable due to the weather conditions during our second week. Fortunately, we took advantage of some of the options in our first week and really enjoyed meeting Anthony and Ramon in the team. Again, every time they saw us around the hotel, they would stop for a chat and ask us how we were doing - really making us feel valued and brightening up our day.My husband played a few rounds of golf (which is included) and really enjoyed it. He was picked up at 8am from the hotel and was usually back by around 1pm, to join me for lunch. We did not use room service apart from breakfast on the balcony a few times. The orders were always brought quickly with a smile, although we did have the odd item missing or an extra one included on occasion, but this was not a major problem. The mini bar service was brilliant - perfectly stocked when we arrived, refilled whenever we requested and sometimes refilled even when we hadn't requested but stocks were getting a bit low! Wonderful!Hotel grounds and public areas were very well kept with staff constantly working to keep them clean and tidy. There were also people painting various areas of the hotel which might have needed a "touch up" to keep them looking perfect. New blinds around the restaurant and bar plus a couple of padded swings appeared while we were there, with no negative impact on our daily relaxing, despite their need to drill, hammer, etc. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Tower Isle and we would definitely visit again in the future. There were a few small things which were not quite perfect, but nothing major that would stop us from coming back. Great food, plentiful drinks, great service, lovely rooms, great facilities....what's not to love!?!

Very nice vacation!

The ride to the resort was almost 2 hours from the airport due to traffic. It probably would have been around an hour to hour an a half without traffic though. Driving is intense in Jamaica! They drive on the opposite side of the road and our taxi driver told us "the left side is the right side and the right side is suicide". He said it was because of all the head on accidents.Upon arrival, we received a very delicious drink and information on how to set up dinner reservations. You could not go to 3 of the restaraunts without reservations ahead of time. However, you could go to the buffet whenever without reservations and the food was actually really good. The only restaraunt we did not care for was the asian one, otherwise the food was exceptional! We tried to sign up for scuba diving for the next day when we got there, but apparently you had to sign up for a full day in advance. So, we were unable to dive even the next day which we thought was ridiculous. We got there on a Tueaday and didn't get to dive until Thursday unfortunately. However, the diving was nice and the water was clear! We saw many fish, an octopus, eels, stingrays, lobster, and sea cucumbers. No turtles or sharks on this trip! The dive masters were great. They guided each dive, we were unable to go off on our own. So, if you like guided tours, this is perfect for you! Oh, I forgot to mention! Diving is included with the resort which was awesome. The resort had a bunch of other water sports included as well like snorkeling, paddle boarding, and sailing. The room was clean and room service was exceptional. We ordered room service a couple times and it was very quick and delicious! We bought 2 excursions: Dunns river falls and the Blue mountain tour. Dunns river falls was so fun and refreshing in the heat. There were SO many people so going up the waterfall took longer than expected. I suggest getting there early to avoid the crowds because when we left there was a long wait. The tour guides make it fun and tips are kind of expected. We brought our own gopro, but they also take pictures/video for you for an additional fee. The blue mountain resort is an all day thing so don't expect to do any other excursions. It was SO fun. They provide breakfast and lunch, a tour of how their coffee is made, an amazing bike ride down the mountain, and a refreshing swim afterward. All in all, our stay was great! We loved every moment of it. We definitely recommend it.

My husband and I were at Couples 3 times last year, 2016, and just booked for Mar 2017. Married at Couples Negril, but Tower Isle is just as great a time. Can't beat the service at Tower Isle. The food is never a disappointment. Room service is excellent. Bryan will take you luggage and after that you are totally cared for..... One Love <3
