Group Travel made it fun

I just returned for a 5 night trip to Couples Tower Isle with my husband and 4 other couples for my 30th birthday. Overall we had a blast but I think that is more because of the crowd we came with rather than the resort itself. We have been to a few all inclusive resorts in different parts of the caribbean and this one didn't measure up to those. The resort in my opinion is just okay. I definitely was expecting more and was a little let down, so I will explain in more detail below.Airport/Drive to Resort: Arriving in Jamaica the airport was like most international airports, but they were quick and it didn't take long to get through customs and to the waiting area for ground transportation. Once we got to that area there was a big Couples waiting area with lounge seating, bathrooms, and a mini bar. This area was air conditioned with free wifi so we were off to a good start. We waited in that area for about 20 minutes before our driver came to escort us to the shuttle. The driver was really nice and talked with us about the different sites in Jamaica as we passed them. The driver was super long and tiresome as the shuttle ac wasn't strong. The shuttle was very hot and cramped. The driver was very accomodating and stopped at a local restaurant called Juici Patties because our group was very hungry. The drivers in Jamaica are quite scary, but While the drive seemed long (about 2 hours) we did arrive safely.Room: We had an Ocean View room (4404) and it was ok. The view from the balcony was of the swim up pool/bar and the ocean just slightly beyond that. The room was spacious and clean, however the bed was very firm. My husband woke up in sore and in pain every morning. For us it just wasn't very comfortable and relaxing. The bathroom was a very small but it served it's purpose what we needed to do daily. Showers were hot and the room service always came to replace towels and washcloths. The floors get soaked with water even though there is a ledge to try and stop it from doing that. They did give some nice little bathroom toiletries on the sink and in the shower which we thought was a nice touch. I believe it was mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, and lotion.Location: The location was great as everything to do off the resort was just a short shuttle ride from the resort. The taxi's from the resort are extremely expensive for the distance they are taking you but you can negotiate your price if you are good at the stuff. If you are willing to walk down to the main street there are $1 taxis that you can get. The airport is the only thing that is kinda far.Amenities: The resort was alot smaller than I had anticipated from reading other reviews and visiting the website, however the included amenities on and off the resort will make up for it. Dunn River falls, shopping execursion, Booze Cruise, Parasailing, Kayaking, and Snorkeling are just a few things that is included with your stay. They also have The game room which was a nice touch with board games, pool table, ping pong, books, a tv, and tables/chairs. This area did not have air conditioning so we could only stay about 20 minutes before it got too hot to handle. We did take board games on the beach and play. Taboo and Geusstures were our favorites and the losing team would have to take shots. The beach amenities were fun and the resort always made sure to have a display board near the patio restaurant with the days activities. You also get a schedule in your room upon arrival. While we were there they did a movie on the beach which was a nice touch. The nightclub would be nice but many don't attend which makes it boring if you don't bring your own crowd. The shopping excursion was good, make sure to visit the Taj Mahal for great souvenirs and pricing. The highlight of the amenities was the booze cruise. It was sooooo much fun and a must do for everyone! Overall we got bored on the resort and often went off the resort to get our fun with the locals. Again we were a group of 10 otherwise I wouldn't recommend this.Food: The food like most all inclusives were ok. I was very dissapointed that there wasn't much Jamaican food as I expected. The breakfast buffet was just ok as we mostly ate fruit, bacon, and potatoes in the morning. I honestly don't remember lunch but the normal fries, nachos, burgers, etc. Dinner varied depending on the restaurant but they were all just ok. I would say our best meal was the last night at Bayside restaurant. In fairness we didn't get to try Eight Rivers as my husband forget to pack long pants and they wouldn't allow shorts even though they were nice dress shorts.Staff: We found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. A special shout out to a two individuals in particular that always made sure we were taken care of. Jermaine and Dana. The both of them definitely made our trip better and they went out of their way to make sure we were always happy and smiling. Wifi: The wifi was great in the lobby and main areas, however in our room it was HORRIBLE! It only worked in the bathroom which was disappointment considering we paid a little more for the room. One of the couples in our group had a garden view room and their wifi was excellent. Overall: All in all we had a blast and we enjoyed the trip. I wasn't wowed by the property or the room accommodations but the service and staff are friendly and do what they can to make you happy. The resort is definitely a relaxing, lay by the pool type resort and after 10pm its a ghost town. Like I said earlier luckily we brought the party with us so it wasn't much of a problem. If it was just my husband and I we would have definitely been bored.

Couples Tower Isle

Where do we begin!! This holiday was by far the best we have ever been on for so many reasons. Couples Tower Isle is run by the one and only Mr Leonard Henry. The staff and we mean ALL the staff from cleaners, bell men, reception, gardeners, waiters/ waitresses, entertainement staff, beach guides, chefs and everyone else are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, always smiling even tho they may be tired or not well. We have made some very special friends. The food was just so colourful and varied. Cooked and baked in house. Everywhere was spotless. Most days we saw workmen painting and updating keeping the grounds and hotel fresh and tidy. We could go on and on but overall we applaud you Mr Henry and your team for making our holiday so special. Thank you lots of love and see you again next year!!! Andy & Jacquie Craske xxx

Travel as a couple

Great resort, clean, over the top friendly. Beautiful view on ocean side. Food good. Asian restaurant has only spicy food if you are a sissy like me. All staff over the top friendly and went out of their way for everything. Highly recommend. Their catamaran was extremely fun and got the entire group on board active in the activities.

Peace and Quite at it's best

Great place to relax with your partner and let your hair down, rooms clean oh my god i swear the staff was always watching to see when you leave your rooms so they can clean up LOVE THAT.....food was good, grounds always clean there was only two things that left a slight bad taste in my mouth 1. The security at the main gate sucks the attitude and all... 2. The daily and nightly activities needs a lot of improvement so if you’re a person that likes to be involved and entrained well no this would not be the best pick hotel.

2017 Couples

Again what a wonderful place. We were there in 2016 and now again in 2017. They listened to one of my suggestions. Last year the wait staff in the Patio restaurant was not very with it. However this year they were on top of it. The room was good, the view was wonderful ocean front view, the food this year was extremely good in all the restaurants. The chief in the Bayside restaurant went out of his was. I didn't personally meet any of the other head chiefs. But did see several with the tidy uniform the head guys ware and told them how good the food was. I'm not a Pepsi lover and it doesn't go well with Crown. I asked for Coke and they made sure most of the time I got just that. We like wine with our dinner and the wine from Chili was okay. We are beach lover's so as far as excursions we only did the glass bottom boat which is okay. We just love the quiet secluded part of this resort. Ovian went out of his way to make everything good every day!
