The location of the property is exceptional with dolphin experience and dive shop right at the resort. Restaurants good to excellent, and staff is developing to Palace standards. We'll go back in the future.
This was our first visit and the kids loved it. The views were amazing. The staff was Palace pleasant, "it is my pleasure," followed everything. There were multiple pools and we swam in all of them. The gym was great. The water aerobics at noon was challenging. The spa was AMAZING. Sauna, Steam room, cold room, pools with pressurized water jets that hit upper and lower back. It is the best spa I have been to.We splurged on a Presidential suite and it was worth it. The bathrooms were huge and it had a whirlpool tub in the master suit. It had 4 balconies and all had ocean views. The water pressure was great and it had the pillow menu, aroma therapy and espresso machine plus snacks. We did use the dining room to play cards and have sushi delivered. Having the third tv was nice. The Italian restaurant was great. The continuous all day/night crepes, sushi, paninis, and desserts meant the kids were always happy. We liked the fresh pizza much better than the thawed dough that Moon Palace in Cancun has. Also having Cesar salads, hummus, and pizza ovens near the flow rider was a bonus. The buffet was good for breakfast and it was the usual awesome made to order omelets, waffles, and pancakes as the other Palace resorts. There were also local fruits and fishes as well as pastries and multiple warm dishes and cereals. The lunches were good with our kids enjoying the jerk chicken. My husband and son loved the steakhouse. They said it was a better quality meat but small portions. I enjoyed the seafood restaurant as it was outside with a view of the beach. The Asian restaurant was identical to the one in Moon Palace Cancun. The kids enjoyed the pools games, flow rider, kayaks, and sailboats but it was the excursions that came with that were spectacular. The plantation tour made the trip for everyone. The water fly/hover board was enjoyed by all 3 kids ranging from 11 to 16. My favorite was the Kanoko Falls trip. We climbed up the rocks and enjoyed the zoo tour. It was also nice to eat non-hotel food for a meal. Finally, we took a walking tour of Ocho Rios and went to the places/stores that cruise ships passengers go. It is not like an American city though. The country has so much poverty and it was a stark contrast to the malls and opulence of Cancun. There were extreme bargains in the straw market there. T shirts were dirt cheap.
Great resort for couples or family. Wonderful Spa facility. Good restaurants- Oriental, Steak house, Seafood, Italian and general buffet. The island has many great place to see and the Moon can set your family up on several great tours.
We just returned from a wonderful week at Moon Palace Jamaica. The room was a great size and perfect for a family of four. The food was excellent, my only complaint is the selection could use some improvement. Especially the buffet and the snack bar by the pool. I loved the Italian restaurant and the staff was incredible. There is no way that I can remember all their names but J.D. (the riddler) was entertaining and everyone provided excellent service. Also we had the best time at the Loud Bar. Damon and Sabrina provided excellent service and were so friendly. Everyone at the Loud Bar was very friendly and made us feel like we were at a local pub.
What a great place! Staff incredibly nice, gorgeous property, and it beats shoveling snow. Packers-Giants game enjoyed on big screen in the disco. LOVE JAMAICA, mon! Veronica who serves us breakfast at Bucaneers should be your "go to" for info if your concierge isn't around. You have to come here!
