Wonderful overnight stay

We only stayed here overnight for husbands birthday. Had a lovely time. The staff was super friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the servers in the dining room, to the bar tenders and lifeguards. Room was comfortable and clean. Had dinner in the dining room, thanks to Kedeisha who served us for both dinner and breakfast. She's a gem. Dinner choices were a bit limited and a bit on the pricey side, but when the food came the servings were huge and very tasty. Nicely located and you can get into the town by just a short walk. I recommend this hotel. Also wonderful views of the cruise ships when they come in to dock.

Comfortable stay with warm hospitality

Stayed here for 4 nights as we wanted to base ourselves centrally in Jamaica so as to best reach Kingston and Nine Mile, we were not disappointed and the location was perfect. Very happy with our choice - the hotel itself is quite simple, but extremely clean and very friendly staff. We arrived a day late due to the hurricane in the area, and the staff were very welcoming when we finally arrived! Our room overlooked the beach and was plenty big enough for the 2 of us - we enjoyed many an afternoon sitting on the balcony enjoying watching the waves and people go by. The breakfast was simple but effective - plenty to eat on the included tariff (fruit, bread, cereal, danish, etc.). There were also cooked meals which could be ordered at an additional cost, and they looked delicious. We didn't really utilise many of the other facilities but there was pool that was very clean, a small bar on the beach and plenty of deck chairs. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

awsome

The hotel is a little beaten up. Needs some tlc. We were in room1211 ocean front beautiful view of ships. No smoking in rooms or a 300.00 fine. The staff are very friendly.Over all you get what you pay for. I would stay there again. It is very central to ms.t's and evieta's.

Basic slightly dated hotel but enjoyed my stay

Stayed one week with a flight / hotel booking through Air Canada. I had an ocean view room almost at the far/west end of the building on the 2nd floor. It fully faced the nice beach. My room was kept clean and stocked with fresh towels every day. Everything in my room was in working order. Started out with a regular tube TV but this was replaced with a brand new flatscreen on my 3rd day (I think they were replacing/updating all TVs in the hotel). Had two queen beds, bed was comfortable to my liking. Had AC which worked great and produced just a little amount of noise (not at a bothersome level). I did not have a balcony but the large patio sized window did open, although it took a little muscle work to get it to open. Bathroom was basic with full tub and shower which included a body wash and shampoo dispenser plus they provided bar soap. Water pressure was good and water was hot if you let in run for a minute or so. Closet was in bathroom and had a small safe in it. Only complaint for bathroom was that there was no air circulation in the room so clothes in the closet became and stayed damp...in fact anything in the room got slightly damp after a day or so of being here (often expected and is the case in most ocean front tropical climate hotels). Hotel and rooms overall were generally basic and dated / could use some updating / TLC...my door stuck along the casing and had to use extra force to get it opened / closed, cracks (which were filled) in a few spots in the walls in my room and around the hotel elsewhere, some tiles in bathroom chipped or cracked....other than these types of issues, it was otherwise a good, economical option for beach front hotel in Ocho Rios. Beach was kept clean daily and had roped off swimming areas. The beach is public and was a mix of locals and tourists over my stay with many locals coming on Boxing Day onward as this is their holiday time for relaxing and traveling as well (I was there over Christmas week). A number of folks on the beach walking around offering tours, selling small food items, etc (including some offering "smoke")...I personally had no problems with these vendors and did not find them to be overly pushy or rude...they asked, I said no thanks, they left..over the week a few chatted with me each day asking how things were going, etc but did not try to push anything on me after the 1st day. The beach is small and you can walk one end to the other in 10-15 minutes. My pkg included basic continental breakfast (toast, pastry, fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, juice), nothing fancy but did the job of filling me up to start the day. I also ate 2 dinners here, the 1st was just OK (chicken pasta dish) and the 2nd was good (curried chicken with veggies and mashed sweet potato. Pricing was high for my travel standards to the Caribbean but in check with the surrounding area for a similar meal (I paid about $20 USD for each meal including one drink). There are lots of food options in the area surrounding the hotel including very inexpensive local food choices (be sure to try Miss Ts, Island Grill, Mom's, and one of the Jamaican Patty shops). I didn't swim in the pool but it was a nice area to lounge if you don't like the beach (I'm a beach lover so spend my time there). There is also a very small gym with some free weights, a small weight machine and some cardio machines plus filtered water dispenser and a TV.Overall, my summary is this a basic hotel in need of some updates but in a great location with good staff (all my interactions were fine and I found all staff to be friendly and helpful), and I felt safe and secure during my stay.
