Rooms on the Beach Ocho Rios
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
I stayed from june 29th-july 3rd..room 1438...room was ok.Hotel in need of repairs....staff needs attitude adjustment...My prescription shades were stolen on the beach....with in 20 minutes of me being in the water... No one seemed to care.... The only investigation done was in my room searching my things..what a joke...guard your belongings..... ..food is OK......
Grounds were beautiful, two large pools and drinks and food free, what's not to like. Drinks were watered down, food was average to say the least and to eat at one of the finer restaurants was next to impossible. Storms kept knocking the power out. That what's not to like. Hope the power thing has been fixed.
My friend came down from New York for a visit. Our time here wasn't bad. A few hiccups here and there. The tv in our room was a mess. I thought that was really bad considering what we were charged. Overall we had fun.
So I purchased a Gustazo to stay here last weekend and its the biggest mistake I've ever made. If you're looking for a place to rest, Rooms Ocho Rios isn't the place for you; the hotel is situated next to a public beach and the place is noisy and abuzz with daytime activities and at nights its the same. The property needs a face-lift as the walls are drab and could use some paintings and plants in the open spaces where the rooms are located. There was a defective TV in the room where we were assigned and the AC unit needed cleaning. Their definition of a continental breakfast is cereal, toast, 1 slice of melon & half (literally half) of a banana served with juice and coffee/tea. No protein served with breakfast....unheard of! And the most disturbing event of the weekend was when an un-uniformed woman claiming to be a member of staff barged in our room with a key stating that her supervisor sent her to check the room assuming it was empty. How audacious! So obviously front desk is to be blamed for not updating their records to know the room was booked. What if we weren't in the room at the time? Something could have gone missing and of course, management wouldn't want to be held accountable. I'm sorry but I wouldn't return to Rooms Ocho even at a discounted rate; then again I shouldn't be surprised since it was so cheap. I can't believe this is a SuperClubs property.
My wife & I are staying here as I write this.Came for a week (June 23-30), had stayed here 10 years ago by myself. Remembered it as not fancy but ok place to stay.....lots has changed, not necessarily for the good. Ice machine doesn't work, have to get ice from the pool bar, staying on 3rd floor!!! Not a pleasant walk! No FRIDGES in the room!!!! Is this 2017 or 1917? They are available for rental though $7 USD PER DAY, what a rip off! Don't close the bathroom door or you won't be able to get out! Got locked in, my wife had to rescue me. No plugs in the bathroom! Have you ever heard of electric razors or hair dryers people? How are you supposed to use them? Bathtub is peeling something fierce, don't have to worry about going to the gym, my muscles will be well developed from just closing &opening the patio doors. Don't even think about hanging your clothes, unless you want to ruin them on the 4 wire hangers provided
