Our Opinion

The Sandals Ochi Beach Resort is a huge resort set amongst beautiful gardens in a very relaxed setting. The back section of the resort is where you will find The Ciboney Villa Suites, these are very impressive with private pools, but are a bit farther from the beach. A multi-million dollar renovation in 2015 features a fresh, modern design aesthetic along with seven uniquely new Gourmet Discovery Dining options and a trendy Ochi Beach Club. Like most Sandals resorts, this one is definitely recommended for couples looking for romance and relaxation.

Overview

Nestled between the St. Ann Mountains and the Caribbean Sea, Sandals Ochi Beach Resort features three unique vacation experiences in one: the vibrant beach culture of the Caribbean Rivera, the chic Ciboney Villa Suites located in lush tropical gardens; and the heart and pulse of the resort, the Manor House with its fantasy pool all come together to create an unforgettable getaway. From championship golf and a renowned scuba program to world-class dining at 11 restaurants and private strolls along Ocho Rios' longest beach; from luxurious Butler Service suites with 24-hour room service to a full-service Red Lane Spa and unlimited land & water sports, this exquisite sanctuary offers something to tempt every guest.

Location: Beachfront in Ocho Rios. 1 hour and 45 minutes from the airport.

Ochi vaca

Stayed a few night at Sandals Ochi. This is large resort and a shuttle runs between the two sides of it. I prefer a smaller resort, personal preference. Lots of areas with romantic settings. Buffet was just average. Not a lot of selection. I am use to Mexico All-inclusives where the buffets are large. Jamaica's resort buffets seem to be much smaller. Not as many options.

The Most Amazing Honeymoon Ever!!!!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Sandals Ocho Rios Resort, and our stay was nothing short of amazing!! From the moment we arrived in Jamaica, everyone we came in contact with made sure that we were provided with anything and everything that we needed. The resort was absolutely beautiful, the grounds were well kept, and the people were some of the most friendly individuals we have ever met. My husband and I both live extremely busy lives, so it was very refreshing to be able to sit back and just truly relax. Our butler's Dennis and Nicole were wonderful...the best, really!!!! They arranged activities for us, made sure we had amazing dinner reservations each night, and even went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of during the couple of days that we were sick. Every single person we came in contact with during our stay was wonderful----our housekeepers, the restaurant staff, the activities coordinators...literally, everyone was so pleasant, nice, and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better introduction to the Sandals experience, and we look forward to visiting some of the other resorts in the future. We will definitely be recommending Sandals to everyone we know, and we appreciate the Sandals team for being a part of the beginning of our lives together!!!

An Adventure in Paradise

this is a long one! This is the place to go if you are looking for a fun getaway in paradise! So many wonderful and fun things happened its hard to narrow down. My husband and I took this vacation to relax and enjoy being together. Little did we know that we would end up meeting the most amazing people, resort staff and other travelers, and having so much fun! When we first got there we were met by the check-in staff with bottles of water and cold towels for our necks. Then, we met Javada, one of the Playmakers on the resort. He was so much fun and during the entire week would go out of his way to talk with us, hang out in the pool, and organize games to keep the fun going. He was hillarious and extremely nice. All of the Playmakers that we met were phenomenal. All of them kind, very engaging, and extremely talented. They would go from playing during the day to putting on the best shows in the evenings filled with amazing music you can't sit still to and wonderful choreography. One Playmaker I met, Shanika, was so sweet, fun, hilarious, and danced wonderfully. I ended up talking with her the majority of the 12 days, and she always greeted me with a beautiful smile and a hug. She is relatively new at the resort, but I know that she will go far and make many vacationers feel at home on the resort. The other Playmakers that we connected with were Melvin, Leon, Renaldo, Gerine (sp?), Dennilee, Taron (sp?), Kevon, and Tamara. Keep doing what you do...you are all wonderful! My husband and I also met two great bartenders, Renardo and Everton. From day one both of them remembered us and knew exactly what we wanted to drink. Renardo is well known on the resort for making signature drinks...and we did not have a single signature drink we did not like!I also went to the spa one morning and received the best full body massage I had ever had. Bridgette was my masseuse and she knew exactly how to massage my back so that I did not incur more pain as I am recovering from back surgery. She put me at ease and helped my back tremendously. The restaurants left nothing to be desired either. Our favorite was Soy, the sushi bar, and we were always welcomed with a smiling face. Kimboley (sp?) the hostess always knew we wanted to sit at a table and would seat us immediately. She also talked us into getting the BEST dessert, Banana Tempura. Its a must!On the day we were to check out, our bags were being loaded on to the shuttle to leave for the airport, we found out our flight was cancelled as were all incoming and outgoing flights to the island. Immediately, Oshane, from the front desk got our airline on the phone for us. When it became clear that the only available flight out for us would be four days later, he quickly calmed us down and we began talking with him about how to extend our stay at the resort. He was very patient with us and understood our stress. He made the process of checking back in very smooth. We got our room back and we were unpacking within the hour. Once we were in the room, the cleaning service made it a priority to come to our room quickly and restock everything. Delores, the manager of the service, even came to the room to talk with us about anything we needed. She was so sweet. She made a heart for our bed and told us she did so because she could tell we had good hearts.Everything about our stay was great (yes, even the extended days) and we are already planning our next trip back to Sandals Ochi as we don't want to go anywhere else. The island is beautiful, the resort was spectacular, food awesome, and the service impeccable. We cannot wait for the next trip!

Private or social, your choice, either way a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful experience!! Whether you are looking for a private get away or an engaging social vacation, either is available."Playmakers" like Renaldo, Melvin, Shovaughn and Javada greeted us daily and engaged in enjoyable conversation. We looked forward to seeing them and interacting with their "shenanigans". They were always a great addition to our day as well as talented nightly entertainment. The Redline Spa introduced us to Delvene, one of the best Massage Therapist/Esthetician ever encountered (I was a LMT for 14 years). She is gifted and should be sought out.Nerene was just one of the outstanding servers we had the pleasure of dining with. Each one seemed to have ESP when anticipating our dining needs. The ONLY criticism I would have about our experience was the WiFi. It was inconsistent and when it was working, it was slow. It may have had to do with our location. Our room was in the Riveria Seaside Ginger Lily Building which was located near the tennis courts and a bit off the "beaten path"The trip was too short. That feeling was due to the quality of service as well as the quality of the property. We will return to Sandals!! Thanks to Amanda who is knowledgeable, patient and was overall outstanding while helping us plan our next Sandals vacation.

Unforgettable 25th Anniversary Trip

My husband and I have been cruising for the past several years, and we decided to try an all-inclusive for our 25th anniversary. After exploring many options, we settled on Sandals Ochi on the advice of a friend. We absolutely were not disappointed. After going through customs at the Montego Bay airport, we found our way to the Sandals lounge where we were warmly greeted by a butler with champagne for me, and a Red Stripe for my husband. The bus to Ochi was ready to go before I even finished my drink, so the butler fixed me a to-go glass. The bus was air-conditioned, and the driver showed us points of interest along the way. We chose not to stop on the way, and the trip took less than 2 hours. We had a butler villa (V1), so we were up on the hillside. We checked in at the great house, but our room wasn't ready yet, so we were escorted down the the Southern Table for lunch. The Southern Table has buffet fare for breakfast and lunch. It is comparable to the buffet food on a cruise. We were surprised to hear country music in Jamaica, but we were hungry, and the a/c was cold, so it was all good. Our room was ready shortly after we finished eating, and our butlers took us to our villa. I cannot speak highly enough of Patrick and Julia. They are both incredibly fun and personable, and they took really good care of us.Our room was comfortable and had a view of the ocean. The only time we heard our neighbors was if we were in our living room when someone was talking in the foyer. Our butlers had made our dinner reservations for the whole week when we arrived. It was really nice to not have to worry about figuring that out. We decided to make a change one evening, and that was no problem. The food was fine--similar quality to the food on cruises. We generally went to Le Gourmand or got room service for breakfast. For lunch, we usually had food from the Jerk Shack or pizza at the great house pool (Patrick and Julia would deliver poolside). Our favorite dinner was at Le Gourmand, but we also liked Valentinos, Soy, Manor House, Kimonos, and Kelly's. Transportation between Hillside and Beachside was easy via the Hop, which runs frequently. There are also smaller Hops up on Hillside that go from the Great House to the villas, but we always chose to walk unless Patrick or Julia were giving us a ride to dinner. We went down to the beach our first day, where we had a steady supply of drinks and had the pleasure of meeting and being entertained by Akeem (the dream). We spent the rest of our time at the Great House pool. It was hot outside, and it was nice to be able to sit comfortably in the water at or near the swim-up bar. There was more going on at the pool, with music and games, and we enjoyed the livelier scene. The playmakers at the pool were awesome, especially Reynaldo and Jirene. They kept things fun, and we enjoyed getting to know them. Marion made sure our drinks stayed full, as well as Daniel and Rajeev. All of our drinks were yummy and definitely not watered down. The bar in our room was stocked with Appleton's Select blend rum, Tanquerey gin, Johnny Walker Black Label Scotch, Absolut vodka, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Red Stripe. We requested tequila and Guinness, and Patrick made sure both were in our room the next day. Most evenings, we ended up at The Rabbit Hole, AKA the speakeasy after dinner. Our butlers wrote down all of the passwords for us. They had unique cocktails, many of which feature moonshine, and the music was incredible. Both the Hard Drive band and "Big Mama" are very talented. Crystal and Delicia remembered what we drink and are super sweet. On our anniversary, Julia decorated our bedroom and bathroom with flowers, towel animals, special lighting, music, a bubble bath, and a bottle of wine chilling by the tub. For our last dinner, Patrick decorated our table at Valentinos with flowers. I'd say most of the guests at Ochi ranged in age from mid-20's to 50's. It was really easy to get to know other people, and we made some friends with whom we are keeping in touch. We were scheduled to fly home on September 9, but a lightning strike shut down all air travel on the entire island that day. Our flight was cancelled after we arrived at the airport. A representative from Sandals informed us that they would find us a place to stay for a discounted rate until we could fly out. The first flight we could get on was on Tuesday, so we were taken to Sandals Royal Caribbean for those three days. We had an amazing experience at Sandals Ochi. The staff was amazing, and we look forward to seeing them when we return next year. The way Sandals took care of us when our travel plans were disrupted just cemented our loyalty.
