The Sandals Ochi Beach Resort is a huge resort set amongst beautiful gardens in a very relaxed setting. The back section of the resort is where you will find The Ciboney Villa Suites, these are very impressive with private pools, but are a bit farther from the beach. A multi-million dollar renovation in 2015 features a fresh, modern design aesthetic along with seven uniquely new Gourmet Discovery Dining options and a trendy Ochi Beach Club. Like most Sandals resorts, this one is definitely recommended for couples looking for romance and relaxation.
Nestled between the St. Ann Mountains and the Caribbean Sea, Sandals Ochi Beach Resort features three unique vacation experiences in one: the vibrant beach culture of the Caribbean Rivera, the chic Ciboney Villa Suites located in lush tropical gardens; and the heart and pulse of the resort, the Manor House with its fantasy pool all come together to create an unforgettable getaway. From championship golf and a renowned scuba program to world-class dining at 11 restaurants and private strolls along Ocho Rios' longest beach; from luxurious Butler Service suites with 24-hour room service to a full-service Red Lane Spa and unlimited land & water sports, this exquisite sanctuary offers something to tempt every guest.
Location: Beachfront in Ocho Rios. 1 hour and 45 minutes from the airport.
Stayed here in a butler village suite for 1 week.We had a wonderful time, the food was superb and there is plenty to do, you will not get tired of doing as much or a little as you like. The room was large and comfortable and a very good mini bar that was restocked daily and a large lounge area. The room was perfectly clean but a little tired looking for example the interior painting was not finished to an amazing standard, small spots of paint had not been wiped from the floor etc.Overall the room was large and of a good standard. The pool is very nice that you share just between a few Villas in this section of the resort, it was not always well maintained for example someone had room service by the pool and the plates were not cleared for 2 days. The food really was amazing and I would say one of the highlights of our holiday, and perfect portion sizes, not too big so you did not feel too over full, but can always have more, its probably food wise the best all inclusive we have stayed in. we never had a bad meal anywhere, we just had patchy service one night in the sushi restaurant but all other days it was great and friendly, they have some good staff here who know what they are doing. Our butlers Kanisha and Camele were very good. Everyone seemed to have butlers so it didn't feel overly special but was a good service they were great booking everything for us and it meant that you really did not have to do much at all, and could completely relax, it certainly helped us enjoy our holiday they were very friendly helpful and professional. The resort itself is a little tired in places and I would say personally I felt it to be more of a 4 star standard. The food and drink i would say were very good and were 5 star, and the service also was very good and what i would expect from a 5 star hotel.I used the gym most days which was small but had everything you needed, my husband took the shuttle bus to the golf course which was easy and it was a decent course with good facilities. We did a few trips booked by the hotel which were great, highly recommend the blue mountain cycling tour. There is a lot to do and you will never get bored, I read some people waited too long for the shuttle bus to take between the 2 sides, we never waited more than a few minutes and there was no issue.I really loved the beach side, but having cocktails in the greathouse was fantastic and like being in a wonderful old colonial home. Each side of the resort felt different and both sides had a great atmosphere, we ate in the sky lounge and I had surf and turf and it was an amazing, the steak absolutely cooked to perfection, and better than some i've eaten in award winning restaurants. The French restaurant at breakfast was simply superb. The evening entertainment was brilliant there was so much variety, they have some seriously talented staff. The rabbit hole speak easy bar we loved, and the singers they had on some of the evenings were simply sensational. My only complaint really was the cost of spa treatments. First I should say I had THE BEST massage by Stephanie (flawless) she was superb and so friendly, very experienced therapist who knew what she was doing, I can't remember the last time I had as good a massage. She really was amazing, therefore I felt ok paying what I did, all the staff in the spa were very friendly and helpful.I wish I could of had 2-3 massages from Stephanie whilst I was there but I just could not justify the cost, considering how much I had already paid to be in Jamaica at this resort. It was such a shame the price points they have chosen for the treatments, its more than I've spent anywhere else in the caribbean and not in any way appropriately priced for the region and they type of hotel. It was so unbelievably expensive and overpriced and they really push the spa stopping you as you walk around to ask if you would like a treatment.I had already decided that I would have a treatment before I left home as I always like to visit the spa frequently on holiday. I would have had so many more treatments had it been better value and they would of made more money out of me but I just couldn't justify paying over $158 usd (£121)for a 60 minute massage where I know the country is not an expensive one and thats more than I would pay in 5 star hotels in central London.I felt so annoyed by this I felt I needed to compare the prices charged for the same treatments in the best hotels in the world...For a comparable 60 minute massage the cost in the Amarni spa at the Burj khalifa in Dubai $157. The mandarin oriental Hong Kong 167 usd.. this hotel is not the same standard as these hotels. We had a great time, and I absolutely would come back to a sandals resort again, this was our first visit to a sandals although we have done many all inclusives resorts before, I was impressed with the food, the service and space and the amount of things to do. I don't think I would pay the full price tag they are asking for every time, so i would always be tempted to look for their deals as i dont think its completely worth the extra money compared to other more smaller boutique all inclusives we have stayed in that are of the same standard.
14 of us spent a week at Sandals Ochi and other than their Registration process, we all had a wonderful time. From the food to the entertainment to the ambience and hospitality we really enjoyed the time spent at this facility. We requested a few special (off menu) dishes and must say thanks to Chef Anthony Reindeer for the many delicious dishes he provided us. From his to go breakfast at 6:45am because we were going golfing, to his special (after golf) late lunches, he did a fantastic job. Thanks also to Kevin Clarke-Hotel Manager who apologized for the Registration snafu and more than made up with coconut water in our rooms and introducing us to Chef Reindeer. Kevin was very down to earth with us and did a great job in being a Hotel Manager taking care of his guests. Cindi Joseph - Office Manager, who from our arrival to departure was the one who saw that we had everything we needed. Cindi did everything in her power to see that we were well taken care of. A special shout out Rochelle Pinnock - Mariner's Restaurant Supervisor, Shanalee Jones - Room Attendant and Dylano Francis-Waiter Manor Restaurant and Sandra Powell - Group & Event Exec, with her meticulous planning and itinerary during our stay. I would also like to say thanks to caddy Oshea for the wonderful job he did during our two rounds of golf at the Sandals Country Club. You all made a big impression on us and went out of your way to make our stay a very memorable one.
Excellent customer service throughout resort. Rooms are dated and needs upgrading. Awesome activities on resort. The food was awesome at every restaurant. I didn't like the cats that roamed property especially during outside dining.
Waking up to the Ocean - you need to be in a BeachFront room. If you want quiet and romantic then the Hillside is for you. Just understand the property facing the Ocean is older and the rooms have some wear but the bed and furniture are in great shape..
So this resort is actually two resorts. One up the hill and one at the beach. It's an easy transition between the resorts with minibuses that run every 10 minutes. We stayed up on the hillside in the butler village ( no butler) and had a semi private pool which we never used. The food in most of the restaurants was good. There were a few inconveniences of some places closing or opening at different times. Make sure you know the schedule so you don't travel to a place and it's closed. Lots of variety in areas of the resort. There is a " party" pool on one end of the beach. The other end of the beach is another pool that is quiet. There is a pool and spa in the middle that is under trees and out of the sun. The staff here was some what distance but cordial. We have been to several Beaches resort where the staff is more friendly so this was a change to get use to. There was some confusion when we got there which required a couple of extra trips up and down the hill to straighten out with the front desk. Diving here was nice. The dive team was well organized. Linden, aka Shot Boss, took great care of us and made sure we always had what we needed on the boat. After having been closed for diving for 9 days due to rough seas, there was some pressure on taking advance skills classes. Would do again for the price.
