The Sandals Royal Plantation is a great resort for those looking for the same luxuries of an all-inclusive resort in a more intimate setting. The resort is staffed by an incredibly personable and attentive team. This is a perfect resort for adults and couples, looking for a quiet and relaxing place to enjoy the landscapes of Jamaica. The Sandals Royal Plantation is also a wonderful destination wedding option.

Personal Luxury

This was NOT the normal all-inclusive resort. Instead we discovered an intimate and personal, very special place. Everything about this place far exceeded any expection I had. The service was top notch. Everyone knew our name. The food was incredible. Everything was incredible. The servers were so happy that they often were singing to the background music. And then there were our amazing butlers. They were more aware of my needs than I was. What a luxury!

Great service, people, views!

First time at a Sandals, first time in Jamaica, first all-inclusive. Extremely impressed with the top-quality customer service exhibited across the board, from the workers who are constantly sprucing up the property, to the fabulous butlers and the manager. All we came in contact with were professional, friendly, and went above and beyond our expectations. This kind of customer service I have found to be missing at so many places in this day and age. We were pampered, constantly checked on to make sure we were having the best experience, and surprised with over-the top extras every day.We had upgraded the week before from a Monarch Oceanfront room to a Royal Monarch Oceanfront to be closer to the water. When we checked in, I just assumed they had that upgrade in the system. I was so excited to be there I didn't think to confirm. They even moved us up a floor upon our request. However, after getting to our room I realized after checking online that we were in a Monarch, not a Royal Monarch. We told the desk, and they told us they would move us in the morning after showing us the room that was available. The Monarch room was very nice (aside from the tub that was showing its age, but the rest of the bathroom was great). We went the next morning and they showed us the only Royal Monarch they had available, which must be their extra room for situations like this, as it was on the first floor, with the french balcony overlooking the stairs/walkway from the beach, with people constantly walking by--no privacy at all. It would be fine if you are never in your room, but we love sitting on our balcony and enjoying being with each other and the views. So we told them we would just stay in our Monarch room. Marvin, one of the managers, found us on the beach a little later and asked all about the situation, and I asked that since we didn't get our upgrade can we at least be refunded the extra we had paid. He was very interested in finding out what happened to determine to fix where the breakdown happened. He offered us the best room, the Governor General's Suite, for our last two nights to make up for not getting the Royal Monarch. I feel they really went above and beyond to make things right and to make sure we were happy and taken care of. That kind of customer service is very rare these days.We moved in to the Governor General's Suite and didn't leave for about 18 hours! Two fabulous balconies on the top end of the West Wing, a huge living room and beautiful full bath and a half bath. We lived on the balcony off of the bedroom--had dinner from Le Papillon brought to us on the balcony and breakfast in the morning. Absolutely fabulous views, with ceiling fans if we weren't getting enough breeze. Highly recommend that room--if you can afford it! So we were absolutely spoiled.Our butlers were Orayne and Riccardo. Highly recommend them. Discrete, friendly, hard-working, everything we asked for was taken care of. They never said "not possible." I wasn't sure we could get dinner to our room from the restaurant, they did it. I wasn't sure if we could hang out on the gazebo when all the umbrellas were taken on the beach (we HAVE to have shade!), they said yes. Two orders each of appetizers from Le Papillon? YES! They even delivered me a pizza at the gazebo, totally surprising me and it truly hit the spot. Loved, loved them. Top tier! We rebooked for two years from now and requested them again--hope we get them! Maybe that's what all butlers do, and we just haven't experienced it before. But we were very, very happy and impressed with them. Always fabulous.It was my birthday and they constantly surprised me with sweet messages, cards, room decor, cake, etc. Many of the staff told me "Happy Birthday." My husband booked a private dinner under the gazebo and it was so romantic and fabulous. In fact, our favorite place from 5-630 pm each night was sitting in the chairs on the gazebo pier, watching the light change as the sun went down, with drinks and just being together.The resort is small so you never feel crowded or that it is too crazy. We had one crazy night in the Wobbly Peacock, bartenders there were great as were the pair of entertainers playing DJ. Best food was at Le Papillon. Terrace buffet was good. Breakfast was always great, loved the omelets. Coffee was fabulous! Lunch at the beach bar was good, beach waiters very attentive.Only thing I would suggest is to maybe have more umbrellas to offer on the beach--maybe optional to put up? You do have to play the chair game and get out early to get your best spot on the beach--make sure you take towels the night before. They do have shaded areas, too. And there is always the gazebo! Also, there was an Island Routes Catamaran parked smack dab in the middle of the West beach view the entire time we were there. Kind of blocked the fabulous view from the beach and I got a little tired of looking at it. But these are VERY minor things. Like I said, we booked to go back in 2020. We typically like to go somewhere different each year, but we were so very impressed with the service, the people, the resort, the food, the location, and our fabulous butlers that we are going to make an exception! Thank you, Royal Plantation for such a fabulous celebration of my birthday and for such a relaxing time for the two of us before our crazy spring begins! Can't wait to see you all again!

Property needs some work

Wonderful staff but property is showing its age. Many things in our room were broken, mainly in the bathroom. Food was delicious and plentiful with many dining options. The spa is lovely and the staff well trained but some services, like hot stone massage not up to what you would expect for the price.

Another fabulous stay

It’s our fifth stay in six years at this property and we loved it. It’s our home away from home. Not a party place, only peace and quiet with a nice show after dinner each evening. We were lucky enough to get the only renovated room on site and it really made a difference because we think the rooms are in a serious need of updating at least the bathrooms. They know it and they have plans to do so. Other than that, the food, the service, everything else is perfect. We have already booked again for next year.

The service and food were excellent. The room was clean but beginning to show some wear. The grounds were clean and well kept. You cannot go wrong staying at this resort. Going back again next year and will have the same butlers.
