Our Opinion

A great resort. The team in this resort is incredbly friendly and attentive, especially the waiters in the restaurants and those serving guests on the beach. It can be guaranteed that your plate will always be full and your cups will always be filled with this kind of team. The pool area is great as well. There is no shortage of loungers and umbrellas available. The resort does has a tendency to get a little noisy at times, so this is definitely a place more suited for those who like the lively aspects of Mexico.

My 6th Visit Was By Far The Best!!!

Let me start by saying this resort is the best one I've ever stayed at. I have been to Mexico 13 times and will only stay here from now on. They have recently renovated this hotel and it's absolutely beautiful! The rooms and public areas are immaculate! There are two pools.... one infinity and one large one with pool bar and on the other side, a pirate ship for kids. The food is amazing with a lot of choices from buffet to sit down. There is a wide variety of choices from Italian to Mexican, Aisan to steak, pizza, a seafood bar, snack places, sushi bar and a deli to get sandwiches, sweets and ice cream. Everything is great here and you will surely feel relaxed but the best thing of all are the people that strive to make your vacation a huge success. To "uncle" Fibrizio, the manager who took care of us from the start, the concierge group for their personalized service: Edgar, Devaky, and Ivan who did our transport. To the food service people...Carlos in the seafood place, and JJ for being entertaining and loving his job. Also, a huge shout out to Fernanda who took care of our every need and want, who was always there if we needed anything and her very wonderful act of kindness, I miss her the most! A return in the fall to casa Herbster is already in the works! I can't wait to return!!

7 years in a row and it keeps getting better

We have been coming to the FACC for the last 7 years and every year it gets better and better. This year we had the biggest group yet, 10 adults and 2 kids. The rooms are renovated and look AMAZING, you can tell they put good money in the renovations, but service has stayed the best as it always has been. First and foremost, we have been coming here for the last 7 years because service is great, food is wonderful and most of all we want to relax. We don't like the giant resorts where everything becomes so impersonal. We always love to see the staff, and you know that a hotel treats its staff well if you see the same people every time you go, they have very little turn around when it comes to their staff, I ALWAYS feel safe and I am NEVER worried that something would go missing.Felipe the pool manager and Fabrizio the hospitality manager are AMAZING, they always have a smile on their face and every time we see them, when they say "Welcome Home", they mean it. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure that their guests are having a great time. After going there for so long you truly begin to build a friendship with the people that you see for a few weeks a couple of times a year, and you look forward to seeing them, knowing how their families are doing and genuinely building a bond with some of the nicest people I have ever met. Fernanda is amazing and went out of her way to find us every day weather we were at the beach or at the pool, just to check on us and see if there is anything we needed. The waiters at the pool and the beach, Claudio, Angel, and Claudia were amazing. They came by every few minutes to see if there is anything that we wanted. Lupita at the Cafe makes the BEST coffee we have ever had, honestly. Antonio the bell man always had a smile on his face and made us feel welcome.I cannot complain about anything at this resort, if we ever needed anything it was always provided with a genuine smile.Filiberto works in the evening cleaning the lobby and he has the sweetest most genuine smile I have ever seen. We truly feel like family when we are there. We left our phones out in the room every single day and they were never moved, we had loose change around the room and not a single penny was taken.Going with such a large group of people it can become very hectic, especially when trying to make dinner reservations at the steakhouse of just trying to get a table to fit everyone but the staff at the FACC was more than accommodating every single time. The only thing I can complain about is some of the guests that were there, people are so rude these days, we call go to relax but when the people working at the hotel are being treated less than, that is NOT OK. Just like everyone who works at the hotel has manners, so should the people who stays as guests, please and thank you goes a long way, so do a couple bucks of tips. Please realize that we ALL work hard and that we are all human. no one is better than the rest.

Renovations completed....Excellence has been achieved

How can one improve on an already excellent hotel??? By renovating it to 5 star status! I was excited to see what changes had been made to the FACC with our most recent trip and stay there. Gone were the small bathrooms with the difficult to get into shower/tubs. In their place was an open vanity area surrounded by privacy glass and a huge walk-in shower with an awesome rainfall shower head. The water temperature and pressure were great (and we were on the 5th floor). The beds were very comfortable and you had an assortment of pillows to choose from (soft to firm). The updated tv's were nice. I also liked the fact that more outlets were available for charging our electronics. I did notice that our room did not have an alarm or clock in it, which was a minor inconvenience when it came time to get up early for a fishing trip. But that was remedied with a call to the front desk for a wake up call. (Plus, my tablet has an alarm clock). Rooms are serviced twice a day. Be aware that the refrigerator is stocked daily with the usual 4/4/4 (4 soda's, 4 waters and 4 beers). If you are in need of more than the daily 4, there is an add'l charge. The housekeeping is impeccable. With the high humidity in Cancun, the tile floors in the rooms can be slippery so I suggest that guests utilize the slippers that are offered. Also be advised that not all rooms have balconies. Some have full balconies with 2 chairs and a table, some have sliding glass doors with balcony rails but no sit down balcony and others just have windows that open.Restaurants and eating establishments are abundant at the FACC with only one restaurant requiring a one day reservation. This is one of the reasons why I love the FACC. The Rosoto (Italian restaurant) has a slight dress requirement. I would recommend that you check the FACC's website beforehand if you have any questions on proper attire. The Kalmia is a buffet and offers a different food theme every day. It is one of the better buffets that I have been to.The pools are well maintained. The "lounge chair hogs" are monitored enough that you should not have any problems finding chairs. The servers around the pool area are terrific (shout out to Claudia). I preferred the top infinity pool for it's quietness. The swim-up pool bar area can get a tad rowdy at times. The FACC has a terrific kids pool area but, it's close proximity to the poolside music area left me with some concerns. The music being played poolside was somewhat vulgar and I wouldn't want young children to be listening to it. I am pleased to say that for this visit, we were not inundated with the time share or "family" people. Though they were definitely present, a simple "no" was enough to keep them from bothering you again.

It Just Keeps Getting Better!

We have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years at least once a year and each stay is better than the last. The rooms have been recently renovated and are beautiful! The food is some of the best we've ever eaten (have never had anything bad). The employees are the nicest, friendliest people we have ever met and always have a smile on their faces. We would like to give a special shout out to all of the people that always make our visits so special. Thank you, Fabrizio, Phillipe (Both of them the bar Mgr & Chef), Edgar, Fernanda, Josef, Jazmin, Isidrio, Jose, Juan, Carlos and Claudio. You always treat us like family and make us feel at home when we are there and we greatly appreciate it! We are looking forward to coming back in October. See you all then. You too Pedro! (He was on vacation this last time). :)

Nice Getaway

After returning from our week stay at FAC here are my true and candid thoughtsfrom my experience. This place is really beautiful. It is well kept and they seem to be constantly working to make it better. One thing I'm reading in previous reviews and to take the defense of this resort, IT IS THE MIDDLE COAST OF MEXICO, if you don't like heat its not the place you want to visit. Its freakin hot hot here. A/C works as best as it can being its a jungle climate. We had no problem with 22c room temp which is 71f.This was our 3rd all inclusive resort andsecond trip to one in the Cancun area. First was Secrets Silversands (awesome resort) back in 2014 a little south of this area in Puerto Morelos and it was hot as hades there as well. Also stayed for a week at an all inclusive in Punta Cana DR in 2015.Beach is beautiful here with a steady breeze to keep you from overheating. If you get too hot the Caribbean Ocean is crystal clear and refreshing to take a dip. You can even see your shadow on the sandy bottom. Its a little rough though with the breakers coming in most of the time so not really a great spot for young kids to swim since the depth drops fairly quickly as well. But our nine year old stayed at home for this one so there were no worries. This was our 13 anniversary trip celebration and we totally enjoyed it. The beach is mostly what we came here for and it didn't disappoint. We have a pool available at home so we never did put a toe in the pool. So cannot comment much on it besides it seemed like people were enjoying it with the swimup bar and all. I personally not a fan of swimup bar pools after getting a severe swimmers ear infection from the one in Punta Cana. The food was good especially in the restaurants. The buffet was ok just not alot of choices on it compared to Secrets or the 6 cruise ships we have sailed. The staff works incredibly hard and was attentive to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. We allways tipped the servers and housekeeping. This let them know that their hard work was appreciated. Sad but maybe I missed it but I didn't notice a whole lot of this going on. There were no time share or vacation club pitches. The room we had was a garden view double queen. We wanted a King but the option wasn't there when we booked so they put the beds together and like walla! Wow! We had a giant bed with seemed like 45 pillows on it. The room had a plate glass partially enclosed lavatory, fogged plate glass door shower with nice rain shower head, and fogged plate glass door to the head which help amp the acoustics in there. Not very private at all maybe for some couples or especially families. But being we've been married for years and are comfortable with each other it wasn't an issue. We had balcony doors with no balcony??? Hymmmm ok. Just a big slidding glass door window ok with a railing 4 inches out. Hung our swim attire out there a couple times.Drinks were ok. Not very strong so if you wanna regular strength drink ask for a double. The beer was Modelo and Corona cans in the room fridge. The Pool and beach bars had Dos Equis regular and amber on tap. Lobby bar had Modelo regular and dark on tap. My real gripe was the house Cabernet was horrible like drinking gasoline. The good wine cost extra.Shopping- well for necessities there is a Walmart in Cancun you can get to by taking the bus for a buck per person one way. There is some shops up towards the top of the cape around the Hyatt area as well. The locals there are kind of aggressive to get you to look in there stores but leave you alone after you have peeked. Most of them will dicker on prices. There are a few local vendors roaming up and down the beach but they were no issue or nuisance. Excursions can be booked onsite by the pool.Language barrier is a little bit of an issue. If you speak spanish there is no issue but english speaking people are scarce. Most of the staff that are in relations with the guest understand and speak enough to help you but most of the guest seem to mainly speak no english. Off the resort good luck communicating.Over all we had a good trip. Oh and book USA Transfers online before leaving for the airport to hotel shuttle 55 bucks round trip 2nd time using them great service.
