Our Opinion

The Flamingo Cancun is a small yet wonderful resort to visit in Cancun. The staff in particular, is amazing. The front team ensure a quick and easy check-in, and the remainder of staff really make an effort to ensure that you're getting the most out of your stay. The beach here is great. It's a good size and the water here is calm enough to swim in. The food here varies depending on where you're eating. The snack bar is a good place to grab some munchies, the buffet however were limited in choices and variety. The a la carte restaurants are worth giving a try, as it offers quality food compared to others. This is place is located in a prime spot close to the hub of city life in Cancun. Definitely a great spot for those wanting to be in the heart of the action.

Probably wouldn't stay here again

The best part about this hotel is the beach area. Hotel provided lounges and umbrellas for guests. The balcony from my room overlooking the beach was great too. The internal pool area was noisy; they played music from about 0800 - 2000hrs which could easily be heard from the room. Otherwise it is a dated hotel. Shower doesn't work properly (inconsistent temperatures and pressures), toilet lop-sided, power-points don't work, Wifi unreliable. I did not get the all-inclusive package. Having said that, that means nothing is included, including tea/coffee facilities. Can't comment on the food as I chose to go to Mexican restaurants. It is quite far from the main areas of Cancun and requires a bus or taxi to get to them. Bus stop just out the front of the hotel which is convenient. Staff were friendly enough. Housekeeping good and fresh towels daily. Next time I would choose somewhere else. This hotel is well priced but it would be worth paying a bit extra for something better.

Good for the money

I felt that this hotel was a value for the price. I did not buy into the "all inclusive" ,because I wanted to eat locally and not be trapped into the hotels food. Although, we ate a late lunch here one afternoon and was pleasantly surprised with the food and the price for a hotel in the hotel zone. The rooms were a little dated and sparse, but again, I will not complain because of the price. I would consider returning in the future.

Relaxing

I stayed at this hotel the first week of March 2017 for just a quick 4 day trip. The hotel was clean, friendly but wouldn't really call it a resort. First impression driving up wasn't a positive one, as there isn't much to see from the road. Coupled with an individual that claimed to be a Customer Service rep, which really turned out to be a sales pitch for time share units. It is a small place. Also, the picture used for this hotel is quite dated. There is a huge resort built to the right, which isn't shown.Rooms:The rooms were clean, but a touch dated. The maids did a good job tidying up and changing towels daily. There is no mini fridge, but there is an iron and hair dryer. The in-room safe was included with our package. 2 bottles of water were left in the bathroom but never replenished.Food:Food was good in the buffet. It was a small restaurant with plenty of seating. Not a lot of variety and surprisingly no Mexican food. A la Carte restaurant was far better with excellent service.Pool:There are two pools, however one is a little hidden, but worth finding. The main pool has a little snack hut set up, where they serve hot dogs, hamburger, fries and nachos. Also has a swim up bar....with a great bartender. Limited loungers in the shade. Many individuals would leave towels in order to "save" them for later.Second pool has no swim up bar but does have a stone oven pizza shop. Great pizza and awesome service. They did have a bar with stools.Beach:Ocean and water were amazing. Clear blue water and not much seaweed. Could walk in either direction. The entire time we were there the red flags were up indicating rough waves and were never taken down. Not sure that this is the norm here or just the time of year. Tons of loungers available with small grass roof huts. We never had difficulty finding one no matter what time we came.Overall:Its a small place and not what I would call a resort. No "Animation" team, beach activities or scheduled activities that I saw, as well, no evening entertainment. I'd recommend this place for couples that want to just relax or for people that normally leave the hotel and spend their time in the city or exploring. We also noticed that 90-95% of vacationers were Mexican.

Loved this place!!

Stayed in Flamingo Cancun Resort with my family for a week. Fabulous hotel, the all inclusive drinks and food are delicious, the place is very clean, the staff are nice, the location is perfect. Only a few minutes away from the centre on the shuttle bus. The rooms are standard but on the whole, the hotel has everything you need at a reasonable price. It also has some coziness and personality unlike some of these gigantic resorts in Cancun. No spring breakers, more family oriented, mainly southern American, and some Canadian, European. Would definitely stay here again.

Okay Hotel

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms & clean. Buffet had good selection but was not hot on any time of the day. Recommend they look at their steam tables to get them working better. Meals in Alberto's was excellent and HOT would rate a 4+ star. Staff was limited in English speaking but did their best to help, used Roberto (bell boy) he was very fluent in English a big thank you. Staff always busy painting and cleaning, watch out for time share selling.
