Our Opinion

A pleasant and modest place to stay in Cancun. Really comfy rooms and suites. The team is super attentive staff ensure that your room is always clean and maintained regularly. The beach is spectacular. The pool pleasant. However, it is a bit smaller than other resorts available, so make sure that you reserve a lounger early in the morning to avoid having to fight for a spot. There are plenty of things to choose from with regards to food options. Overall, the quality of the food is good. Make sure to check out Pier 12 for their seafood and pasta. The bar drinks aren't bad neither. The bartenders are not sparing with their pours! The sister resort, Great Parnassus is a few minutes walk away. This location is really great for those who are wanting swim along a better beach.

An Adults Only 18+, romantic sanctuary ideal for couples, in Cancun's Hotel Zone, Golden Parnassus Resort and Spa boasts relaxing accommodations with dreamy beachfront balconies facing sparkling waters. Honeymooners booking the honeymoon package are greeted with a refreshing fruit basket and delicious sparkling wine. Mouthwatering à la carte restaurants await guests with a vast selection of cuisines from Oriental to International, with no reservations needed. Splash around in the beautiful freshwater pool or grab the shuttle to the nearby Aqua World Marina, with complimentary watersports including snorkelling and boogie boarding. Wind down in the wellness centre's sauna and steam room or simply treat yourself to a blissful spa experience, at an additional cost. This adult-only refuge offers guests a heavenly vacation from reality.
Location: Directly on the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, 20 min from downtown and the airport.

Hotel is old looking Rooms don't have refrigerator no wifi. You have to pay for wifi (about 15 dollars a day)You have to call room service for everything even ice So I guess you have to tip them for everything ( that gets expensive have for 5 days)I will not be staying here again!

Utterly Great Service, Decent Accomodations

We went down to the Golden Parnassus for my 40th birthday with a group of 6. The main factor that brought us to Golden Parnassus was that none of us have children, and didn't want to deal with any during our trip. We used TravelZap to book, and they use Lomas Travel locally in Cancun. As soon as we deplaned, we met Gabo (Gabriel), our Lomas rep, who was OUTSTANDING. Friendly, funny, helpful. He got us on our shuttle, got us some cold beers, and we were on our way. We ended up booking 2 separate full day excursions to Mayan ruins through Gabo, which couldn't have been easier. Highly recommend Lomas Travel if you can get them in Mexico. As for the hotel itself? We'll start with the Pros:1. The Staff. Everyone, and I mean everyone was friendly and helpful. The waiters and bartenders remember your names and your favorite drinks and couldn't have been nicer and more pleasant. I recommend this place on the staff alone.2. The beach. It was clean, spacious, and had plenty of seating. Servers patrol the beach to get you drinks while you relax, and the beach vendors never hassled you once you said you weren't interested. I don't know if it was the season, but we didn't see a single mosquito the whole time we were there, and we were outside all night every night.3. The Shangri-La and Old Barn restaurants were fantastic, and the food was very good.4. The Tiki and Beachfront Bars. Jesus, Fermin, Eloy, and the others were awesome. They kept everyone happy, told jokes, and generally made everyone feel at home. Again, the staff here is the one thing that made me briefly consider joining their "club" and coming down 3-4 times a year.5. The Golden room. My wife and I upgraded from the standard room to a "Club Room Oceanview" but were upgraded on arrival free of charge to a "Golden Room". We were top floor, oceanfront with stunning views and ocean breezes. A bottle of sparkling wine and a fruit/cheese/chocolate plate were waiting for us, as well as an invitation to have a private meal cooked in our room upon request, which was awesome. We never used the Jacuzzi in our room, but only because we spent so much time out of our room with our group and the wonderful staff. Room was clean, and in good repair, if a bit outdated. Now, the CONS:1. I am so glad they upgraded us, because the other 3 rooms that our party stayed in were the "Standard" style room, which faced the back of the hotel, and were on the first, second and third floors. None of these rooms had the promised "Lagoon View", and instead lookd across at an old building. All 3 smelled strongly of mold, and even when asked to switch rooms (they gave two male friends one bed at first) the second room was just as moldy. All 4 people in those rooms came home sick. Thankfully my wife and I were in a Golden room that faced the ocean and was free of mold.2. The hotel itself is outdated, and it shows. The paint peels, the fixtures are dull, the TVs in the "Sixties" bar and Old Barn were old CRT monitors, and the feel was outdated and not modern, but certainly not "antique" either. Just, "not updated in quite some time".3. The food at the buffet style restaurants was merely ok. Not a true CON, but certainly not a PRO, hence its appearance on this list.4. The activities were pretty much the same every single day. Pool volleyball, beach volleyball, water aerobics, and a nightly show in El Teatro. The performers gave their all, and did a great job, but it felt very repetitive going 2 nights in a row. The sixties bar promised karaoke each night, and never actually delivered.5. The pool itself was ok, but I wish they had a swim up bar like most all inclusives I've been to. It sucked to keep getting out of the water to walk all the way across the pool deck to refresh your drink. If you go, bring your own YETI/RTIC/BubbaKeg, or purchase one of the reasonably priced BubbaKegs in their gift shop to carry around so you don't have to refill as often and it keeps your drink cold in the tropical temps. In general, we had a great time at the Golden Parnassus, and aside from the major issues of mold in the lower floors, we would have no issue going back, if they were to ever seriously upgrade the old rooms/bars/areas of this perfectly located hotel. The staff, from both Lomas Travel, and the Golden Parnassus made this trip wonderful, and I can't say enough about how awesome they were.

"Can't Wait to go Back!"

What an awesome place to vacation! Everything was great! It's beautiful and the wait staff was so caring and helpful; especially Gina, Oscar, Fonzy, Marianna, Roberto, and Martin! They felt like family. Not one complaint and would highly recommend this resort to family and friends.
