Our Opinion

An LGBTQ-friendly spot, this Oasis resort is suited to couples and older clientele. Take advantage of upgrading a suite, as the views offered here are breathtaking. This resort also offers endless options when it comes to food. Whether it's the buffet or the a la carte restaurants, the food here has always been promising in taste in quality. The pool area is spacious and you'll never experience a shortage of towels or loungers. One of the things that sets this resort apart from the rest is that it is incredibly inclusive. Regardless of your age or sexual orientation, this resort is probably one to visit if you're a couple.

Not as bad as people say, but could do better!

Just returned from a week holiday here. The multiple bad reviews actually lead me to try and switch hotels last minute which did not work so into the unknown I went!!!. My initial thoughts on the appearance of the hotel was far from the bad reviews I had read. Hotel Lobby was lovely with marble floors and statues with water feature in the entrance, clean, calm and check in time was swift and efficient. Our room was a standard double room with balcony, air con, fridge and wide screen tv and a beautiful comfy king size bed with canopy. Bathroom was lovely with a generous sized tub. The restaurants and food selection was also impressive. HOWEVER 5 days in the cracks started to show......... (Litterally) A huge Crack formed in the bathroom ceiling which started leaking water right above electrics, causing the plaster to crumble into the bath we were told it would get fixed. It didn't. I had to yell at reception about the safety risk because I was just so annoyed at there relaxed attitude about the issue. In the end we got moved rooms as a result however this was just to shut me up as they still checked another guest in straight after us!!!. The electric key cards ALWAYS broke causing us to go up and down the building getting it resolved everyday (we were not the only ones). The queue to book for the speciality restaurants is ridiculous and only one (very laid back) man operating the booking desk. Although it didn't happen to us I did notice the check in queue really long. Reception staff are both short staffed and not in a hurry at all!!. Also some of the queues to get into the non booking restaurants was an absolute joke 1hr and 10min wait at the Hippie Chic bar with absolutely no apology from staff!!. You seriously have to be in no hurry here. All in all this hotel is perfectly perfect for a party get away, the hotel has a very sexy, fun atmosphere and the beach access is so good. The entertainment throughout the hotel can not be faulted. And you get a free boat party!!!!. I feel this hotel is better suited for the younger, more relaxed and down to party type. This hotel has soooooo much potential and some really good features. I just wish the floor staff cared a little!.Guaranteed fun, entertainment, drinks and party. But no guarantee of comfortable luxury which some travellers may be used too.

2nd Trip /Different Season

Missed our trip by 2 days ,but hotel and Air Canada very acommodating and extended our vacation for days missed due to weather.Check was a little bustier than 1st bid it in November and attributed the same to time of year,April. We arrived. Mid morning and waited about an journey or so for our room and was upgraded to Sian Kian. Staff very polite and accommodating. Wifi was a problem but it was a malfunction with the server and was operational in no time. The privilege of eating at the beach club for lunch was a bonus and a bouquet of flowers has to be sent out to "Lizette" a very hard worker girl and over achieved just to please her customers as well as the bartender St the beach club restaurant I can't recall his name but he knew exactly what we drank. The room perfect not an ocean view as requested but clean and did view the schillibar pool. Doors slamming in wind was a bit of a disturbance but that was to be expectedThere were always enough towels and fridge was always stocked. The pools well cleaned enough pool side chairs and beach chairs if you got up early enough to reserve. A bonus Aldo for us this vid it was the buffet for evening meal was open and it wasn't in November. The best food was the menu at the Schillibar. Timeshare sales people were present but not pushy. Overall our 2nd trip to Oasis was even better than the 1st as Oasis atmosphere and vibe allows you to meet some very nice friendly people who together make a vacation a fun filled experience. Thanks Oasis.

Horrible

My friends and I bought an all inclusive package through apple vacations for the grand oasis sens. Let me just say that the pools and beach were fun but as far as night life goes it was boring. The bars closed at 11 and the pools had no night time parties. Furthermore, it's very far from the downtown strip and expensive to cab back and forth at about $20.00 usc each way. I'm not usually one to complain but the following really made my first experience to Cancun miserable. We had no A/C the whole time despite complaining everyday to hotel staff for the whole 5 days I stayed. Our toilet didn't work for a whole day. The wifi does not work at all in the entire hotel. The food at all the available options was not good despite the one pizza restaurant. There is black mold everywhere. This place needs to be leveled and replaced. Anyone reading my review, save up a little extra money and stay somewhere else because this place sucks.

5 Terrible Experiences - April 14 - 21, 2017

THE BAD STUFF....1. Room 860; the AC was not working. We had to be moved to another room on the first day that we arrived.2. Room 562; the AC was much better but, no balcony, faced the ocean but, the view was blocked by the palm trees. The faucet in the shower was spraying water from side to side and wetting the bathroom floor making it messy and slippery.3. Room 293; the AC was not as good as in room 562. The phone was not working, the tub was not draining and there was a funky smell coming from the drain in the bathroom.4. We spent one entire day by the poolside and when we got back to our room, someone had changed the combination to one of our suit case locks and we could not get into it. Both locks were damaged and we had to buy new locks. We had to file a report and it was confirmed as per the Concierge Supervisor; Pavel, the key card recordings showed that only the cleaner and the guy who restocks the bar had entered the room on that day. 5. It rained on the last 2 days that we were there and there was leaking EVERYWHERE in the hotel. No exaggeration. The staff had to put large towels and mats on the floors in the lobby and corridors due to heavy dripping. The ceilings were leaking badly at reception right across the entire check in desk. There were towels on the desk and across the floor as well. We saw people slip and fall a couple of times. All of this and we were not offered compensation in any form. We were not expecting it, nor did we ask for it but, maybe it would have made a difference to our experience. Extras~ I asked Concierge to make a reservation at a restaurant off site for us and they never called back to confirm. Nor did they book it. We had to book it ourselves. ~ The WiFi has a poor and weak connection in the rooms. ~ We did not know that we could have enjoyed other restaurants at Grand Tulum and Grand Cancun as they were included in our package.~ The AC in the entire hotel was not working on the Wednesday night. ~ Restaurants - You have to go on the day a couple of hours before for about 2 of the restaurants to make a reservation and another two of them are upgraded as in, you can dine for an additional price per person.THE GOOD STUFF......1. The pool we thoroughly enjoyed; 4 levels. The Wet Bar was really cool. 2. The food was very good and lots of variety as they had 12 restaurants. 3. The tours were truly amazing; La Isla Mujeres and Xcaret4. Shopping down town was fun. 5. The staff and Mexican people overall are very warm, funny and they will go above and beyond in terms of service for you. 6. We had a great spa experience at Sensoria.7. The entertainment such as the MC by the pool was hilarious and the games were really fun to watch.Mexico is just so beautiful overall. We will definitely go back but, just not to Grand Oasis Sens

Grand Oasis Sens

Great experience. This was our first trip ever outside of the US and the hotel and people were great. I wasn't expecting much reading other reviews for this hotel so my expectation level was pretty low going into this. That quickly changed when I got there. Everything was great. The food was good, the drinks were great. The room was clean. The service in ever area was excellent. They took really good care of us. Any problems I had in my room was taken care of in less than a half hour. I only had safe issues and there was no iron or ironing board in the room. Both were taken care of immediately. I upgraded to the Sian Ka'an package and was worth ever penny I paid. Didn't really use the pool on my deck but it was nice having it incase I wanted to use it. Just very nice to have your own deck to sit on in the evening when you wanted to relax after a full day. I would also suggest booking an excursion of some sort. We did the boat ride to Cozumel. My wife went snorkeling and I went scuba diving. After that we go into a jeep and drove the island to a couple of landmarks and beaches. Lunch and transportation were included. We booked this at the hotel with Amerstar. Very helpful and no problems with our trip. Transport was on time and the tour guide Nathan was awesome. Very organized. My only suggestion to the hotel is have the coffee and me shop open like at 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning to get a better cup of coffee in the morning for the early riser's than what you get in your room. Also I wasn't a big fan of the desserts. Need to improve on the flavor of those. They looked good but the taste wasn't there. The experience was great for the price I paid.
