Our Opinion

Good 4.5-star resort in Cancun. There are great options with regards to buffet and a la carte items. The staff is friendly and pleasant. There are a lot of daytime activities and excursions available for those wanting to venture outside of the resort. However, there were only a few nightly shows. The only issues that guests experienced were the inconsistent operations of the air conditioning system throughout the resort and rooms. There can be quite a bit of noise near the pool area. This resort is perfect for families or those with young children.

not bad overall

Just returned 10 days at this resort. It is an older resort that needs some updating. The stall where excellent. Abslom at the Japanese restaurant, and Angel & Ceaser at the lobby bar. The rest of the staff where always willing to answer any questions you had.The buffet at the Magnus was very limited and lacking in dessert selections. The food at the other a la carts was never more than barley warm, as they seemed to come in from a central kitchen, I had to send my dinner back at the French place because the rack of veal was cold, the rest of our party meals were cool. The only hot food was at the Japanese restaurant because it is cooked there. The selection at the other a la carts was very good but it needs to be served hot, so that it can be enjoyed. The rooms are large but need some updating and almost everybody in our party of 14 had problems with the showers. Overall this is not a bad resort and they try hard but they need some reorganizing to make this a little more enjoyable.

Great Trip

If you're looking for something to complain about, you WILL find it here. The resort is a bit outdated. It looks like a cruise ship as far as the rooms and center open with shops, bars and restaurants. Everything is pretty close by, the beach all the restaurants etc, so if you need to run up to your room for something it's not a big inconvenience. We didn't mind the little things that others may complain about. The drinks were good, the food was good, and we were in the sun! We were quickly checked in, we got a free upgrade to a suite. We got a King bed, jacuzzi tub on the balcony, walk in closet and some 1980 style shower with jets, radio~ the works. The shower didn't work, only the hand held wand worked. Had I paid for the suite room I'd have been upset, however it was OK it suited it's purpose. We faced the golf course and the lagoon, the view was pretty. My husband and son were down a few rooms and there is an old building next to our resort and there were dogs barking all night. My main complaint was the rooms weren't stocked daily with water bottles, pop like other resorts we've been to. You get 2 "free" bottles of water for your stay. There is free wifi in the lobby. The room was nice, the staff was amazing. Manny was our favorite bartender, he made the best drinks by far. The Coffee area had donuts and Churros every day after 4:00, and the coffee was awesome. The food was good. The Buffet was the same thing pretty much every day. It was good, not great lots of variety but there was no huge difference from lunch and dinner. The resort was pretty quiet so they rotated restaurants that were closed for the night. The food at the a la cartes was good. We sat to eat at The Manhattan, and I was ready to get up and leave, the service was slow, it seems dated, but we gave it a try and the food was great! Big Ben had good food, the Italian was buffet we quite enjoyed. Our favorite was The Shanghai- we ate there 3 nights out of 8 Absolun was our waiter the second night, and we asked for him the third time. The snack bar had nachos, wings and pizza and fries. The drinks were good, no complaints about anything. Lots of places to get drinks. The beach is ok, it was good if you like big waves, not great for walking along. The pools are nice, a bit chilly but the infinity pools have a beautiful view. There was lots to do, we did a few activities. I'd go back to Cancun for sure, I might try another resort. I'd not be opposed to going back here though but I'd probably check out other places.

The Best Experience - For All (Couples, Families, Singles)

I have nothing but positive things to say about this resort. I travelled with my mother and sister and we enjoyed every part of our stay - The dining options were extensive, We enjoyed Yoga on the beach, water aerobics, painting the crafts, the beach, the pool, and the staff that always went above and beyond to make us feel so welcomed and attended to. I was hesitant to stay there because it seemed more family oriented based on the reviews but this is truly a resort for EVERYONE. We had a great time! You have the opportunity to stay at adult-only sections and restaurants if you would like. Interestingly, we didn't need to as we had a great time in the general sections and overall, had a wonderful experience! I will definitely return. Look no further - stay here!!!
