Our Opinion

Located at the edge of the main strip, the Holiday Inn Cancun is an OK resort. This is definitely a better option for those looking for a short stay in Cancun. The majority of staff here are friendly and pleasant. This hotel has an all-inclusive option, and there are some do's and don'ts for certain guests, making it sometimes a bit of a hassle. The all-inclusive options when it comes to food is adeqaute. This resort is a great option for families or those looking for a quieter stay in Cancun. However, because of its location, its options, and price, there are a lot more suitable resorts to choose from that are of better value.

Average quality hotel

The hotel is looking quite new and is placed at the very beginning of the long road/stretch of sand of the zona hotelera of Cancun.Rooms are clean, all white, most of them with sea view. Look of the furniture is not for sure luxury but quite consistent. There is a small pool overlooking the beach. The beach is actually a very narrow (less than 10 mtrs) stretch of sand in front of the hotel; nearby hotels and houses have not much more, maybe less. Bar at the pool is an approximate idea of a bar, with fast and uncaring service, high prices for low quality drinks. Service at the check in is friendly enough although not really caring much. At the end a cheap option, sometimes sold all inclusive. I would say good for a couple of nights if you are in transit, not more than this.

Overall satisfied

I made my first stay here in Cancun. Booked with breakfast included and the staff was friendly. The room was spacious and clean and air conditioning worked well. But there was no refrigerator. It was nice to be able to use the computer for free in the lobby. It was small but there was a swimming pool and the children liked it. When I moved, I got a cheap taxi from the lobby. Overall satisfied.

Not so expensive hotel...don't eat at the restaurant!

The type of hotels you find when looking for a cheap option. Price was ok, service not so much. Still, if you plan to go to Cancun and spend most of the time on the different tours, this is a very good option. Again, please don't eat at the restaurant...a waste of money and really bad food.

DISAPPOINTED

I was at this hotel for 5 nights, my room was okay. I had all exclusive which it was disappointed because only included chz nachos, chz burger , hot dog and club sandwiches. So not worth it. The employees at the front desk were rude, not professional at all. My last night there the IC didn't work so I called the front desk and someone showed up like an hr later without making any difference because he couldn't fix it, we couldn't sleep all night because it was too hot. I only stayed there because I'm a IGH member which they never knew that I was until the end because I ask about my points.

Not a bad deal!!!

We arrived in Cancun at 6am. We got to the hotel at 9am. Mind you, check in wasn't until maybe 2. Definitely 3! But, the lady at the reception was super nice! We got a room on the fourth floor with two double beds (instead of the one king-sized - a better deal if you ask me). Hubby and I were satisfied! The food was delicious! Cochinita pibil, huevos rancheros, fried plantains! OMG! I gained weight here! Seasoned very nicely. If you're a vegetarian, well... There were some choices, but mostly fruit and some salad. The omelet station was great! Made to order and nicely, too! The entire staff were very nice and helpful. Lost a towel key that I handed to hubby, by the toallero, mind you, and the wait staff handed it back to us during lunch! It was so nice! Didn't use the pool. The main one was pretty full. But they had another on the other building, by tower one. The palapas were great! Fell asleep under one first day out! The beach is small, but great for wading. You want ocean, go on a catamaran! Their dock is just a short walk away! It's right by the bus stop. It's near a bank.I asked our cleaning lady for an extra face towel, she gave me two - everyday! She even folded them into fans, into a swan... it was a surprise every day! We tipped her nicely. A buck, or three goes a long way here! The Italian restaurant was closed, but they had dinner theatre one night. There is also the seaside grill you must make reservations for. But their buffet was very good! Although I think they could upgrade their sheets, everything else was great!I went in knowing that we were going to Mexico. It's not the US. So the facilities were nice and clean. I also dredged up my highschool Spanglish and they dredged up their meager English. Between smiles and pantomimes, we got our messages across.Ah, one think I couldn't get over with (because I'm a coffee addict), their coffee was weak. If you want cafe robusto, go buy your own!The WiFi is weak in the room we stayed in. #2416. We received the best signal in the buffet dining room
