Best Beaches in Cancun and Will return

Will return to this resort just don't stay in club tower. the food drink entertainment pools and beaches were fantastic! The club tower has a certain funk smell and very moldy smelling! loved the dolphins too. I have been to Cancun 4 times and this by far is the best resort I have stayed at minus the Club Tower. will definitely be upgrading to another building next time!

Beautiful property in a great location

If you're looking to be close to downtown while still having the resort experience, Hyatt Ziva should be a property to consider. We stayed in an ocean front view and would have choosen this option again in the future if our friends hadn't stayed in a first floor room with semi-private, heated pool. Both options are great but the semi-private pool is a great amenity to have. The food was ok, nothing too memorable. But the view, beach, pool, location, and clientele makes me have to consider this a definite comeback resort (less of the college, spring break crowd found further down the strip). Good experience, would comeback.

Hyatt Ziva vs Dreams

My wife and I had been to this property twice before as Cancun Dreams and loved it so I'll offer a comparison. We visited March 14th-19th 2017. The Hyatt has done an amazing job in this redesign. Your first view from the Lobby as you walk towards the pool/ocean is actually jaw dropping. Saved is the beautiful and unique pyramid. The lagoon is gone, replaced by a heated pool area. They extended our favorite small beach on the bay. Restaurants and shops wrap around the pool area. There are also beautifully appointed pools on the tower and Turquoise side but we've never spent much time here. A bit far from beach chairs to ocean for our preference. Also the most fun seemed to be in the main pool area. Our "ocean view" room faced the dolphin side. A view directly towards the ocean now requires a club upgrade. Food- more great restaurant choices now. Highlights- fresh oysters at La Bastille, hibachi grill entertainers at Moongate, great beer and (Buffalo!?) wings at Tres Cervezas and a delicious cafe and sweet shop. El Mercado buffet is also excellent. We ate here for fantastic breakfast choices, too many to list. Ocean activities- Hyatt is more cautious when windy. I was disappointed but appreciated the sincerity for safety.Service- we've always loved Mexican hospitality and Hyatt has retained that in abundance. The staff are all excellent. Never ever disappointed about the service.Poolside Vibe-You will find that the property being larger feels more open and less intimate or cozy. But that also provides many different choices to hang out thru the day. There are singles, couples and families. It's a very fun atmosphere minus the rowdiness. Entertainment-some nights we didn't have a big interest but Mexican night featured some wonderful music, dance, and horses! We'll be back to the Hyatt Ziva because it's better than ever!

Great spot, great for kids

Not my absolute favorite but I can't complain about the food and there were awesome people working there. Roger in the Moongate restaurant was my favorite by far! Francisco by the main pool was great as well. Angel and Katerina were wonderful butlers. Pillows were are only complaint after the trip. Keep in mind we didn't complain on that while there.

Great family getaway

This is our 3rd time at a Hyatt all-inclusive property and after visiting the Hyatt Zilara Cancun (adults only) and the Ziva Puerto Vallarta in 2016 we wanted to check out the Ziva Cancun with our kids. This one is definitely the largest of the 3 and we had a great time. The beach that faces Isla Mujeres has very calm and clear water, perfect for the kids to play in while we lounged under the palapas just a few feet away. There were spots where you could easily be 50-75 yards out and still only in waist deep water. We also used the included kayaks to take the kids out and look for fish. The pool set up was also nice with various options on either side of the resort. We liked one to the right of the main pool bar that had a large, fairly well shaded very shallow (~18") section for the kids to play in the late afternoon. While we didn't send the kids to the Kids Club for babysitting at all, we went twice during family time so they could use the water slides and that was a hit.Evening entertainment setup was nice and the quality of the performances was very high compared to other places we have stayed. The magician and break dancing show were our favorites. The others were nice too although the star show (dancing and lip syncing) got a little "adult" at times. As far as the food goes, the Hyatt AI properties are usually pretty good compared with others and I thought this one in particular was really great for the breakfast buffet. We didn't usually eat a big lunch but did like the fresh grilling stations in the buffet of fresh shrimp, tacos, and fajitas. For dinner we tried all of the sit down restaurants except the adults-only French restaurant. All were pretty good but the Lorenzo's Italian was a bit disappointing. The kids really liked eating inside the '57 Chevy at the Chevy's diner. Another highlight was getting ice cream or candy after dinner at the Pasteles dessert area - it was fun and the staff there were very friendly. We were in the club tower with a great ocean view to the south. I would not recommend the Dolphin view room as the dolphin pool (run by 3rd party company) was not very clean. It was cool to see the dolphins on site but definitely not worth the very high price to get to "swim" with them. Room was a bit smaller than I expected but very clean and comfortable.Lastly, a few folks really provided great service that I wanted to acknowledge: Jorge took great care of us each day bringing drinks on the beach and Alejandro at Tradewinds for dinner took the time to learn each of our names and was very attentive and funny
