Our Opinion

The Ibersotar Cancun is an OK choice for those looking for a place to stay. It's a beautiful resort. Their grounds are immaculate and well-maintained. The rooms follow suit as well. The best part of this hotel is that almost all of the suites have an oceanview. The food varied in quality. While there were some restaurants that show promise. There are some that could use improvement. The buffet restaurant tends to be a bit repetitive with their food choices. There are plenty of restaurants outside of the resort if you're looking for authentic Mexican fare.

Incredible Resort

I am just leaving after spending an incredible week here. I cannot think of one negative thing to say. The food was incredible, the staff go above and beyond to provide exceptional service. The grounds are immaculate, the food was always plentiful, and the drinks were perfect. I traveled with friends for a wedding, which the resort ensured went flawlessly. The weather was perfect. There is ample seating around pools and in the dining areas. If you are looking for a 5+ star escape, the Iberostar is for you. Absolutely perfect!!!

One of the best

Had an amazing 2 weeks here. Lovely clean beach & very friendly staff who can't do enough for you. We booked beach front villa & did specify pool access level upon booking however was given the upper level on arrival. The food was top notch & never had a problem booking any of the restaurants even at short notice, they offer you the wine list however these wines are not included in your inclusive package so just ask for house wine, the steak house was our favourite restaurant. No shortage of beds round the pool didn't have to play silly towel games. Buses outside the hotel into cancun every 5 mins or a 10km walk with lots of interesting stops along the way. Will defo come back to this hotel but will not trust the tour operator (Thomas cook) to book pool access room.

Spring Break, awesome time!

My daughter and I just arrived home after a week staying at the resort with five moms and five teenage girls. We had a fantastic time! The service was top of the line, the star friends were amazing! We especially loved the entertainment, specifically, the singers. Sariolka, from Cuba was such a great singer and performer. We had so much fun dancing to the Music every night after the shows! He did a fabulous job engaging the audience and making you feel like he was singing specifically to you!

Terrible Before Arriving - Improved abit whilst there

Literally have just got back from this hotel today and I just knew you spicy little beauties are desperate for somebody to finally leave a detailed review without all the stuff no one's interested in, Well never fear my fellow travelers, I am here and I will guide you, Look after you, And even give you alittle cuddle if you ask me nicely, But for now less of that free love talk and let's get down to business... There's six can's of ice cold beer in the fridge and the missus is out, The snooker ( Bit like Pool for my oversea's fans ) is on.. You know what that means, Sit and watch the snooker in just a pair of socks and guzzle those bad boy's down! BEHAVE you lot!!! tut tut ,Review time ..... Me and my lovely angel of a woman went to Mexico Cancun back in 2016 and literally fell in love with the place so we decided to come back this April, The people and the culture, ticked every box's just a pity it's a 10 plus hour flight from the UK but hey if you want that bit of paradise you've got the travel for it, Firstly the airport can be abit of a nightmare once you arrive and loads of people will try and stop you and sell you one thing or another but just ignore them and keep on walking, Otherwise trust me you'll be there all day and most probably miss your transfer's to the hotel, Anyway back in 06 we stayed at the Golden Parnassus ( Check my review for it ) ;) . But after seeing some photo's of IBEROSTAR and reading some reviews I was taken back and just needed to book this place, We booked a Ocean front Villa via our travel agency which for a week came to 3030GBP certainly not the cheapest week's holiday, anyway as I'm sure you lot will know by now these villa's show pictures of a lovely beach front villa with a swimming pool directly outside the patio doors, well well well, when we arrived we was given a second floor villa ... Errrrrrm hello?!?! I haven't just traveled 11 hours in the same socks to be given a second floor room! I rung reception and explained we had booked the ground floor villa only for a rude lady to reply if you want the ground floor villa you must pay a further 150USD per night?! What the uptown funk ?! Literally couldn't believe it, There was no way I was about to pay that amount! So far So bad, I left it at that and thought we've just got to get on with it seen's we're now here and our rep was about as helpful as a toilet without toilet paper ! Now this hotel is big and I mean big, You could get lost quite easily , The grounds are beautifully maintained and there is a hell of alot of iguanas roaming around so look out for them , harmless but pretty cool to try and get photo's of, There are alot of pools and was plenty of space around the pools and on the beach so no need to get up early to reserve a lounger, Drinks are brought to you if your catching some sun my advice would be to order two at a time and tip 20 or 50 pesco's just to keep them coming regularly, Trust me I did see people who tipped get better service, Restaurants you have to book I'd suggest emailing before hand as they tend to be booked up pretty quickly we only tried the steak house which was actually really nice and the buffet is decent but after 1 or two visits it does get pretty boring if your like me I like to go out and about if your looking for any recommendations for near by restaurants check my other reviews :) Some lovely places near by. Bars all bars we used we're very good, obviously different people make drinks differently so be prepared for that, nice cocktail list, alot of wine's and beer's included within the AI packages so no problems there, Sports bar will put on any sporting events for you and does actually have a really playable pool table in there, Snack bar for burgers and fries was lovely, Be sure to tip the young lady she does work really hard, All in all I feel some of the staff let the place down, some seemed rude and wouldn't even smile at you let alone say hello as you passed them, Yet other's would be really friendly? Kind of confused us as the hotel we visited last year which is near by this one all staff where super friendly. As for the smell everyone keep's talking about in the lobby.. It's lillys! Yes the flowers, it's a spray they use :-) So don't let that wreck your brains anymore you saucy little pickles! So for us the actual hotel was really lovely, couldn't have asked for much more, Downside our room wasn't allocated to us and the staff where rude and unhelpful when we tried getting it and seemed to just want more money directly too them rather than via a agency. By no means would I overlook this hotel if we went back to Cancun but then again I'd hope there would be a fair amount of changes staff wise, Either way enjoy your time in cancun it's a lovely place, lovely beaches, lovely restaurants and shopping near by, It's been a honour writing for you my fellow people.Be good out thereAnd remember and the end of the day.. it's night

Exceptionally beautiful!

We stayed in the oceanfront villas, which we have done twice now (once in 2015). There is no better place, in our opinion as far as this hotel goes, but you get what you pay for, and they are not cheap. But if you're willing to pay more, like a bit of privacy, to be away from the hustle and noise of the main hotel, then you will love it! The main hotel oceanfront rooms are very nice also though, my sister and her husband stayed there and we are considering it for our next trip to save a bit of money. The food was great, fresh, and lots of choices. Every morning in the buffet there are all kinds of fruits, breads, meats, eggs, juices, and pastries to choose from. Even gluten free. We've tried all but the gourmet restaurants, and they're all good. The Naga Hibachi is our favorite (Japanese Shogun grill style). Portions are sensible, but not tiny. The pool bar and the lobby bar is our favorite hangout besides the beach itself because the staff there is always so super friendly and nice! Especially Joaquin and Antonio in the pool bar, and Jorge and Edgar in the Lobby. We felt like friends by the time we had to go, and we can't wait to go back! The ocean is rough, so you can't just 'swim' in it, but it doesn't stop you from playing in the surf, and the view is stunning! Even from the infinity pool! Our villa has a refrigerator that they kept stocked with what we drank the most of (which to be honest, was water), They made up our beds a little different each night, and our room was always very clean, even after we accidentally dumped sand on the floor from playing in the surf! The hotel smells lovely all the time, and even when we had a huge rainstorm, they took good care of making sure people didn't slip on the slick tile. Love it, and can't wait to go back! I would recommend that you book restaurant reservations before you go.
