Our Opinion

A great charming hotel along the strip of Cancun. While the size of the resort isn't as comparable to the larger resorts found across the strip, the quality and experience that this resort offers shouldn't be underestimated. This is a perfect little gem for older travelers and couples wanting some peace and quiet. The staff along this resort is incredible. They make sure that you're getting the most out of your stay and try to respond to all of your requests in a timely and pleasant manner. Because of the size of this resort, it doesn't really get that busy, which is great if you've got an affinity for lounging by the pool. It's guaranteed that you'll always have a lounger available. There are plenty of activities around this area. Make sure that you rent a golf-cart, as you can probably venture the entire island for the day! While the resort is relatively quiet, there are party yachts that have a tendency to sail nearby, so there is a little bit of disruption during particular times on the island. However, it wouldn't take away from your experience (just make sure you that you refrain from having dinner along the beach at this time)!

Wonderful, relaxing, adults only serene retreat.

First time at Isla Mujeres Palace and instantly our favorite Palace Resort. Don't come here if you are looking for lots of action. This is a place to unwind, get secluded and be pampered. It is away from town (but only a $ taxi ride away) and isolated. THe beach is spectacular for quiet sunning and beautiful views morning and night. They have Stand up paddle boards, kayaks, water tricycles, available at your desire - no charge. The pool and pool bar are just super. An inside lounge has pool table and a very welcome bar. Only one restaurant but they add a nightly special menu to the standard menu to prevent getting bored with the selections. The staff was super, helpful in every way.Gym is very good size for the amount of guests and well equipped. Spa is tiny but they offer many services. As with other Palace resorts, do not expect a robust massage, they are very mild with lots of low pressure rubbing and mild pressure point touching. Relaxing for those who enjoy that, not much to get into the muscular tissue. But pleasant staff. As I mentioned...our favorite Palace to date and we are anxious to return. Lots of areas to get away from other guests and just relax. More than once we were the only or one of the only couples in the restaurant or at the pool.Special mention for the service from Deiby at the front desk and Karon in customer relations. Both were very helpful.. Super trip!

Day visit from Cancun

While staying at the Moon Palace in Cancun we took the ferry over to Isla Mujeres and spent an afternoon at the Mujeres Palace. What a quaint and quiet place with a total chill vibe. The resort is in the family of resorts that are all available to Moon Palace members. It's a totally different feel than the Moon Palace Cancun with its massive three resorts, Sunrise, Nizuc and Grand The location is tucked away right about 100 steps to the water's edge. The adult only requirement makes it a more tranquil property. We swam, had lunch and spent some quiet time around their swim up bar. To date, it was the best lunch buffet I've had with exceptional sea food combinations. Fresh and unique pairings of salads and cheese were welcoming to hungry day travelers. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful which added to the brief but exceptional stay. Although we didn't see any of the rooms; I would highly recommend this resort for the person seeking a quiet, relaxing vacation with all the amenities.

As usual, a wonderful time

This is the third visit my husband and I have made to this palace resort, and we have been Palace members since 2010. The island has its charms, but I cannot praise the staff of this resort enough. Between Julian, Omar, Arturo, Ismael, Jorge, Alejandro, Edy and our lifeguard....they made the vacation so pleasant and comfortable. I find it very touching when I order something at breakfast and they remember that I liked it the very next day. The resort itself is lovely - and don't be afraid to order something different from the menu. They were able to make a nice Pasta with marinara sauce despite it not being on the dinner menu. The only "critique" I have is that because it is a relatively small resort, the spa is extremely small. I would not recommend their spa as highly as I would the spa at Moon Palace or at Le Blanc. However, massages on the beach are delightful at Playa Norte!!All in all, we had a truly lovely vacation and cannot wait to come back.

BEST VACATION YET. THE STAFF MAKES THIS RESORT. WE MISS IRVING!

My husband and I just returned from a perfect twelve day stay at the Isla Mujeres Palace. We have been to the Cancun Riviera Maya area about a dozen times and usually stay at large resorts. My husband chose the Isla Mujeres Palace and quite honestly I was worried about it being too small, but it being small turned out to be the best part of this vacation. By the end of it we felt like we were part of a family. It is truly a special place with the most special kind genuine staff we have ever experienced. The staff here is beyond lovely. Always smiling and happy to help. From the beginning check in with Martha at the desk and Antonio the bell boy were so welcoming with them both being so sweet and friendly. I knew right away this place felt special. And it only got better and better with every day. This is a small piece of paradise in and a beautifully kept, clean resort The staff make you feel so welcome you feel like you are visiting their home. The first morning we got up had a delicious breakfast delivered to the room by another amazing staff member Edwin, who is always smiling and happy to be of any help needed. The food was delicious and fresh. It continued to be for the next twelve days we were there. I can honestly say we did not have any food that was not fresh and delicious. Martin at the pool bar does an amazing job and makes some delicious pizzas in their wood oven. He would make adjustments any time if I wanted to make changes to a menu item he was happy to help. Room service was always hot and fresh. Top notch all around. From our first day at the pool we met Irving who was working at the pool that day. He is a very special staff member who we now consider like family, Irving made a very special effort to get to know us and we felt very lucky to have him looking after us while we were at the Isla Mujeres Palace. He puts his heart into his job. Irving is a very special person! A very hard worker that is always looking out to make sure all of the guests are happy. He was also the bartender on some days and did an outstanding job working at the bar too. The Palace is lucky to have him. We miss you Irving!!!That being said the entire staff was beyond great doing everything they could to make you feel comfortable and happy that they possibly could.Jorje the entertainment person did a fabulous job at getting water volley ball going during the day and at night he did a great job at karaoke getting what is always a small crowd going which I noticed is not an easy feat. Not many guests are out in the hotel after nine or ten it is pretty quiet. But Jorje did a really great job.The bell boys Ulrich and Antonio were always there with a smile and a "good morning' when we walked by the desk in the morning . as well as every staff member at the check in desk, I wish I could remember their names but I don't and they deserve a special mention since they were always there with a smile as well ready to help.Luciana who cleaned our room did a fantastic job. It always smelled fresh and clean. Towels were crisp and white very clean which I really enjoyed. Also the towels on the beach were always handy and white and clean as well. This is the cleanest resort we have ever stayed at. The staff that cleaned the floors every morning were also very approachable and friendly I wish I had gotten their names ! They work so hard to keep the resort clean and I really appreciate their hard work. It really shows how much pride they take in their work no matter what the staff does at the resort. In all areas you can see and feel the pride they have in their jobs. The restaurant staff Omar Sharanye Edwin Wilma Ivan Pedro I wish I could mention more since I know I am forgetting some. The entire wait staff is superb. They all deserve a big thank you from us. They treated us with such warmth every day. I would like to thank Rosa for always being at the counter to seat us with a gentle sweet nature. She does a wonderful job. The food was so good that we both came home with a few extra pounds on us even with all of the walking we did! That has never happened to us so that tells you how good the food is. Fine dining and delicious in the restaurant. There is only one restaurant but that was not a problem. So many delicious options for everybody. Quality fresh food. There are also twins Ivan and Ishmael? sorry if I spelt their names wrong... but they were also consistently gave the guests high quality, friendly service.I was really pleased with the choices of drinks that the bars have. The bartenders Eddy Iriving and Dario served us some really tasty drinks made with love. Irving made us some really interesting ones and had my husband hooked on his Green Long Island Ice Teas.I can also thank Irving for getting me hooked on the chocolate Mud Slide drink that added a couple of pounds to my waist line, but it was so worth it. Irving made some really terrific drinks! Trust me, those have some booze in them! The bar staff like the rest of the staff was beyond great. Francisco was also super. Very hard working and amazing bar staff that make delicious drinks! And always service with a smile. This was our best vacation ever because of the beautiful resort, the tranquility of this special little island, but mostly because of the staff at the Isla Mujeres Palace. They are truly exceptional. It is the first time I have cried leaving a resort. It felt like a home away from home and that is entirely thanks to the staff. All of you made us feel so welcome. We miss you all and I am sorry if I missed any names. You all deserve a giant thank you from us!!! Thanks from the bottem of our hearts for putting so much hard work into your jobs and for taking such good care of us during our stay. We are very sad it is over.See you next time. Which we are hoping is sooner than later! Our room was great. Very clean and comfy. The bed was perfect. Shower had great pressure and the jetted tub supper big and

Fun, relaxing getaway

My husband and I just got back from the Isla Mujeres Palace after a really nice, mellow week there with our close friends. We had a wonderful time at this small, couples-only resort which is located just a 15-20 minute boat ride from the shores of Cancun. The staff is amazing - so accommodating and caring and too many names to mention individually. The guest rooms and public spaces are really nice (spotless), the beach and pool are lovely too. So relaxing, staring at the gorgeous Gulf when we weren't using the paddle boards or snorkeling. The breakfast and lunch buffets in the main dining room/patio were great and the pool restaurant was good too - excellent guacamole/ceviche as others have noted. Dinners were off the a la carte menu and weren't that good, sadly. Kind of a disappointment after the huge selection and great flavors of the other two meals. Another MAJOR nit was the wine list. The "included" wines weren't that good and the "cult" wine line list selections were incredibly expensive ($120 for wines that retail for $25-$30 in the US). They had a non-vintage Moet Chandon on the included wine list but they ran out of it and then ran out of the next best choice. We were denied two nights in a row, (even after being told there was a delivery coming), when we asked them to substitute in a very similar non-vintage Champagne from the "cult list." We even would've paid extra for it, but not over $100 a bottle. The staff is lovely as I said but they aren't enabled to make those kinds of simple decisions to make guests happy. It clearly pained them greatly to disappoint us. To experience this at such a high-end resort, even asking a manager on duty, to intercede didn't help. Palace Corporate--- this bugged us enough to put it on your site - maybe something to think about for the future as it's easy, inexpensive, hospitality 101 kind of stuff...Otherwise, a very nice, relaxing vacation.
