Our Opinion

A great charming hotel along the strip of Cancun. While the size of the resort isn't as comparable to the larger resorts found across the strip, the quality and experience that this resort offers shouldn't be underestimated. This is a perfect little gem for older travelers and couples wanting some peace and quiet. The staff along this resort is incredible. They make sure that you're getting the most out of your stay and try to respond to all of your requests in a timely and pleasant manner. Because of the size of this resort, it doesn't really get that busy, which is great if you've got an affinity for lounging by the pool. It's guaranteed that you'll always have a lounger available. There are plenty of activities around this area. Make sure that you rent a golf-cart, as you can probably venture the entire island for the day! While the resort is relatively quiet, there are party yachts that have a tendency to sail nearby, so there is a little bit of disruption during particular times on the island. However, it wouldn't take away from your experience (just make sure you that you refrain from having dinner along the beach at this time)!

Amazing Holiday!

We have been to a couple of the large resorts over on the mainland 8 times in the past few years, and we wanted to try something a little different this time. We booked a last minute, 10 night vacation to this hotel, and it was fantastic. Very relaxing, beautiful beach and the rooms were lovely. Food was very good (MUCH better than the other resorts that I have been too) but the dinner menu did get a little old after about night 7. But still good none the less. GO ON THE WHALESHARK TOUR!! . But protip - book downtown or online, NOT through the hotel. It was 125 USD pp for us booking online, the hotel was charging 200 pp for the same thing. Here's my breakdown of different aspects of the hotel. 1. Room - 5/5Roomy, VERY clean and extremely comfortable beds. The a/c was always working and kept everything cool even on the 40+ degree c days. Only downside was that the sinks and counters in the bathroom area were ridiculously low. My 6'3 boyfriend could not even see his face in the mirrors. But not a big concern. Mini bar was rarely re-stocked which was a bit of a pain, but we would just call the front desk to get more. Also housekeeping would knock even when the "do not disturb" sign was up which got annoying after a while. Other than those small things, the rooms were fantastic. 2. Beach 4.5/5Small, but so beautiful. We were there at low season and the hotel was only less than half full, but there were always beach chairs so no waking up at the crack of dawn to claim some which was fantastic. There was quite a bit of seaweed, but this is fast becoming the norm in the carribean, so you really can't escape it. Drink service was fantastic and always kept us well hydrated! ;) I spent a ridiculous amount of time on the paddle boards - one of my favorite parts of the trip was just paddling around. Only downside is that you can't go past the ropes off section. I've been kayaking and paddling since I was 13, so it was frustrating not to be able to go a bit further out to get a look at the island, but I understand their reasoning. TIP - take a walk down to the end of the dock at night. The stars are absolutely wonderful. 4.5/5 because of how small the beach is, and it's a bit noisy with the two beach Clubs next to the resort. But I would still take this beach over the huge busy ones any day. 3. Service 5/5Amazing. Staff know your name after a couple of days. Jorge from the restaurant was always great and we enjoyed chatting with him. Front desk staff was always very helpful and friendly. Louis from the ceviche bar was so fantastic - we loved coming to see him every afternoon. *Thanks Louis for making our time great!! * No complaints about this at all. 4. Food 4/5I can't decide what I think of the food to be honest. I'll just start by saying it is leaps and bounds better than the huge chain resorts on the mainland. So if you're trying to compare to any of those, the food here wins hands down. That being said, there isn't a huge selection. But the seafood was to die for. Try the chicken fingers on the room service menu. So good. We wanted to book the chefs dinner, but waited to long to book it so it was sold out. So we booked the romatic dinner instead. We aren't the romantic type, and the giant "love" sign that they put on the beach next to your table just made us groan, but it was fun none the less. 5. Pool 3/5The pool was clean, but dear lord it was hot. Felt like bath water. We didn't enjoy it much. 6. Resort Credit??? I don't know what to say about this. It's great - I guess. They don't HAVE to give this out, but bare in mind that there are caveats to this credit. You can only use a portion of it at the spa - and it's based on how long you're there for. We stayed quite a long time and we only got 400 bucks towards spa services for both of us. Most services are 180-250 each, so it's hard to get anything for that 400 dollars. I think people who were there for only 7 days just got 300, so you wouldn't be able to get anything fully covered anyways. Also they say you can't use the credit for relaxation or deep tissue massages, which is basically all I like, so meh. You also have to pay 16% of the cost, so keep that in mind when booking. But hey, it's still free money so I can't complain too much. Over all, great stay at a great hotel. Would 100% recommend.

First Time In Mexico and an Incredible Stay at Isla Mujeres Palace

Absolutely wonderful!! This was our first trip to Cancun and we are so glad we chose to stay at Isla Mujeres Palace. We enjoyed every single moment. Everyone at the Palace was friendly, helpful, professional and they truly made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. First of all, we were welcomed with a beautiful boat ride to the resort. Martha greeted us with a smile, a cocktail and a refreshing towel at the front desk to get things started. Our room was clean and wonderful! We were on the second floor facing the pool and the view was spectacular. The following staff members of the Palace truly made our stay very special.Front Desk - Martha, RosaPool Bar - Jimmy, Dario and Ismael (Great Cocktails! Especially the Rhumba)Lobby Bar - AlejandroCerviche Bar (which was incredible and we highly recommend) - Chef Dario and EdwinDining Room - Jorge, Edwin, Christian, Luis (Luis was our waiter for most of the stay and he was funny and guided us to some delicious meals and wine on the menu)Couple's Massage at the Spa - Nayeli and Natividad (Sooo Relaxing!)Booking Resort Credit - Pilar and LourdesWe also loved the entertainment offered in the evening especially the Magic Show and Alejandro (guitar) and Greg (tambourine)We also met some really nice couples and the resort was never crowded. Lounge chairs always available! We learned to paddle board for the first time!We received $1500 in resort credit. You only pay 16% tax with each option you choose and it was so worth it. We recommend the Couple's Massage and the Chef's Dinner at the Palace and if you've always wanted to swim with dolphins the Dolphin Swim at Dolphin Discovery. It is right on the island of Isla Mujeres! We decided to upgrade to the VIP level at Dolphin Discovery and we highly recommend this option. You are in a smaller group with the dolphins. You also receive more time in the water with them and you get the picture package. A great bar to visit on the island - The Joint - great mango margaritas and reggae music! All in all, a fabulous vacation!! We look forward to returning to the Palace!

"Fun in the sun"

Loved it!! The hospitality and the kindness everyone showed us. The rooms were awesome with a beautiful beach view and a balcony to just sit and enjoy. I loved the way the staff would keep your room clean and turn the bed down for night with special treats waiting on you.I was so amazed when you would say "gracious" the staff would always say "my pleasure". We enjoyed our couples massage with Jazmin and Nativida.
