Our OpinionThe Krystal Grand Punta Cancun has great potential as a resort in Cancun. It's located on the tip of the island, making it a prime location for shopping, restaurants and bars. The downtown area is also a few minutes taxi ride away. The beach is also spectacular in this area. It's constantly being maintained by staff, making the lounge area immaculate and free of seaweed. OK food choices found here. There is a great variety to choose from and are well prepared. It does take a while to be served however, especially when during the peak lunch hour. There is a bit of noise during the evening. However, it's not terribly distracting and it does not necessarily take away from the experience of your stay.
I loved my stay at Krystal Grand, the resort was beautiful with very clean rooms. The location of the Hotel is very close to everything.Everybody that works in the Hotel do their best to help you. Overall fantastic Hotel, i will definitely return :)
Services, food and drinks were excellent. Rooms are below average, loud, poorly built, you hear absolutely everything from your next door neighbour. Expect little to no sleep. Other than the room everything else is absolutely great. I strongly recommend.
I booked this as a package from Expedia without the all inclusive but included free wifi. Our group had rooms on the 8th floor. Let me begin with the hotel lobby is not air conditioned and from last time I stayed in Cancun it's not uncommon so be prepared for that. We arrived early and rooms were not released until 3:00pm check in. Rooms have nice modern decor and very clean with a small balcony. We were not oceanfront but did have clear view of ocean of other side of "Punta Cancun". A/C would work very well overnight to the point of freezing ourselves...haha but we loved that. At some points during daytime it was controlled to not work at 100% not sure if maybe to control costs? The only issue we had in both rooms that were next to each other was the plumbing. Toilet would be hit or miss with flushes in both rooms. The beach was amazing. Sand is super clean fine white soft sand. The water is Caribbean clear and blue. Thanks to location of hotel of Punta Cancun there is a rock type jetty that helps keep the waves to a minimum and keeps the water on a quiet weather day completely waveless. I felt like I was at my Florida's Clearwater Beach. You can walk down the beach to a nearby beach bar with swings, Mandala Beach Club, and the Plaza that has Hard Rock Cafe less than 10 minute walk. Hotel has beach beds or lounges under shade for rent. We never saw beach side service though for drinks or snacks. We did get service at pool with swim up bar on property. They have 2 pools. One is an infinity pool overlooking beach for adults. The other is a larger one with said bar and submerged Lounges in water and a volleyball net.We did not eat at any of the restaurants. Only had Starbucks coffee and delicious gelato from the cafe on lobby level. The hotel is within walking distance to the nightlife, shops, and restaurants. There is even an excellent "posh" supermarket about 15 minute walk that features two levels. We were super impressed and they have a huge liquor selection on second floor with mini cafes featuring a variety selection of foods. It was a group of 5 girls and we felt safe the whole time we stayed. We even would feel comfortable after a late night partying walking back to the hotel. Yes we stayed vigilant but we're never bothered. The streets are super clean and there is a nice walkway for tourists to easily stay on track. My only suggestions for hotel is that the 1 tourist map/brochure they gave me was really useless. The local maps were not helpful at all. And I didn't feel like purchasing international data on my phone to utilize my Map apps.
The rooms are of good size with nice bathroom. I believe they are all the same.We paid extra for ocean view which was OK and maybe a little less noisy. The biggest problem is the noise, the inside of the hotel is "empty" and the sound is carried everywhere which is not pleasant... particularly during spring break with all the student getting drunk at the bar in the middle of the hotel. The AC was not strong enough to get the room below 25 Celsius, which a big warmer than I would like. We switched room after the first night but we had the same problem. The restaurant are OK and you have the selection of 5 restaurants to go to.The most positive aspect is the beach, beautiful, protected by a rock wall with nice hut like umbrella. Basic food and beverage are available on the beach which is nice.Unsure if I would go back or recommend, hence the average rating.
Good location but rooms are outdated and we didn't the the right room first night but was actually before than the one we got the next night. Hotel needs some work. They overcharged what I was quoted.
