Our Opinion

The Krystal Grand Punta Cancun has great potential as a resort in Cancun. It's located on the tip of the island, making it a prime location for shopping, restaurants and bars. The downtown area is also a few minutes taxi ride away. The beach is also spectacular in this area. It's constantly being maintained by staff, making the lounge area immaculate and free of seaweed. OK food choices found here. There is a great variety to choose from and are well prepared. It does take a while to be served however, especially when during the peak lunch hour. There is a bit of noise during the evening. However, it's not terribly distracting and it does not necessarily take away from the experience of your stay.

Located in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone, Krystal Grand Punta Cancun features a superb location and one of the best white sand beaches in Cancun with breathtaking views over the Caribbean Sea and Nichupte Lagoon. This luxury hotel is located just a few steps from shopping centers, restaurants, and nightlife.

4 WORDS! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Would not recommend whatsoever.Bed bugs!!!!The only nice thing about this hotel is the beach. If you are used to going to Cancun and having fun then this is NOT the place for you! First of all there is virtually zero entertainment. The entertainment that they do have is just somebody singing in the lobby and then they have a machine that gives fake clapping. Pretty sad if you ask me. The buffet is extremely small and very limited. Good luck getting bacon or bananas or Jam for that matter. They claim to have Pool activities, we have yet to see any and we are currently staying here as we speak. This has to be one of the most BORING hotels hands down I have ever stayed in and  I have traveled extensively. We have been tipping the maids to clean our room daily yet they leave empty beer bottles and dirty coffee cups and do not refill the coffee. We had to put the empties outside as a big hint and then they finally came and refilled everything. The Italian restaurant is closed on Sundays and the Japanese restaurant is closed on Mondays you see where I'm going with this people. The layout inside is also poorly designed as you are going up and down stairs constantly this would not be a place for somebody who is either in a wheelchair or has mobility issues. The service in the restaurants is painstakingly long for example if you order a glass of wine or a drink of water you will wait up to 10 minutes. The music by the swimming pool is repeated all day and it is like zen music or yoga music if you will. There is no bounce to this place. The lobby is extremely dark in the evening with very soft repetitive music playing. I believe this is a means to people to sleep as they close their bars at 11 p.m. if you're looking for a sports bar you certainly will not find it here. Also just an FYI most places allow you to full use of their facilities for the day when you check out. Not this place the second you are checked out you are paying for everything. Hence you are chopped liver. Unless you have paid for an upgrade to the altitude Tower you will be paying for your room service via credit card. This is 90 pesos per order and credit card only. The towel lady at the swimming pool has a scowl on her face 24/7 I guess I couldn't blame her I wouldn't want to hand out towels all day either but a smile once in awhile doesn't hurt it might even get her tip lol. They claim it is all inclusive but it actually is not. At any other Hotel that is all inclusive, if you order a steak you get a steak you do not have to pay for the steak here you have to pay for the steak why can't we have steak it's all inclusive right? Nope. Ended up checking out 5 days early and had our travel rep move us back to a hotel that we know is tried-and true. Just a quick recap if you want to have fun do not come here. We saw a pack of approximately 18 year olds males. These poor males had scowls on their faces everyday as it is not fun here there's nothing to do. In my opinion if a bunch of young males get together and go on a Cancun trip it should be fun for them not stuffy and boring.

Fantastic Resort for what you pay

We went here from Dec 17-Dec24... let me give our honest review... For what we paid it was fantastic!!! We were given a room in the new section of the hotel facing the ocean. We paid for normal view but got ocean view for no extra price.Food was fantastic. 5 star food and very well prepared. We went to all food venues and had no issues. Yes sometimes the service time was a little long but come on your on vacation what's the rush!Beach was 5 star! Nice to be tucked in the cove. Waves were not as strong as further down.Room was brand new and nicer than a higher end 5 star room we stayed in and paid double the price so 5 star review to the new section!Some bad... We did have to sign a receipt everytime we ordered food and drinks. Kinda annoying as it does take little time but hey the price is right so its do able.Another bad, the shower water smelt kinda like sewage. No issues with getting sick or weird color. Just had bad odor. Again it is what it is. They are aware of it and are trying to fix the smell.Overal I give this place a 5 star rating. We paid 1200 per person in peek season. 600 plus dollars cheaper than any other resort and I can say I would go back in a heart beat!!!You wont go disappointed with this place. If you are looking for a 5 star diamond than spend diamond money. If you are looking for a 5 star experience with enjoyment than book hear.We went to El dorado Royale in Riveria and than this place. Honest the beach here was nicer, the room was nicer. The food was not as good but still right up there. Better than any cooking I get in Canada that's for sure!Hope this review helps!Also no night life. That's because Cancun is a 2 minute walk away with all the night life one could ask for. Also a flea market is 5 min walk away for gifts!Hotel also had adults only people which was warmer than other pools, added bonus and 2 larger normal pool

Top notch for 4*

Absolutely fabulous restort. Been to Cancun many times but this was tbe best place we've stayed. For many reasons, hotel was new, clean, great food and selection. Ppl the best! One exception of Paul concierge in Altitude tower we stayed in. He is not a good candidate to deal with ppl. The spa was exvellent. Pools and beach are beautiful. Restaurants are exceptional. The Grill was our fav with Jose, Mario, Alijandro and Eziquiel. At "O" resto we give thanks to Jaime and Andres! Thank you KRYSTAL Grand.

They Kept My Cellphone- Poor Customer Service

I have been very patient. I was a guest at your resort and you have done nothing to help me with my issue. I have called your hotel over and over again. During my stay December 24-26. I left my phone on the bed. Your employee Alexis Gonzalez said he found it and he would make arrangements to send it to me. I called and called and could not get in contact with him. Finally, hotel manager Gabrielle said he would make sure to send the phone. I sent him an email with all the shipping information (as requested). He said he received the email but he has not responded. I told him I would pay for the shipping. That was almost two weeks ago. I’ve called every day since and no one answers or they put me on hold and never come back. I WANT MY PHONE. This is ridiculous. I need someone to contact me ASAP about this matter. I am highly upset at the unprofessional way your staff has handled this situation. I stay at your hotel once a year when I come to Cancun. I will never stay here again. Please respond so we can resolve this matter.

Great location

Great location. The beach is nice. The room was nice and clean. The view of the beach from my room was nice. The hotel was clean and for the most part the people were friendly. Other reviewers complain about a smell and I immediately noticed it, but not in my room, but once I left the room, it hit me. It's more of a smell associated with a hotel being on the beach. Nothing to make me gag, but certainly not pleasant. Again, since it was not in my room, I was good. I was disappointed that our tub didn't drain properly while showering. Another disappointment was the food. Overall, the beach and location made up for the negatives and based on the price I paid, I would stay there again.
