Our Opinion

One of the more luxurious options for those wanting to stay in the heart of Cancun. Le Blanc is a smaller scale resort that offers comparable service and luxury to that of any other major resort along the Cancun strip. Great lay-out and the rooms are fantastic here. The food is better in quality than what most other restaurants would provide. Make sure to check out the spa while you're here. It's such a great experience for great value! Amazing staff that do not fail to deliver. Overall, an amazing resort!

Great all inclusive

Leaving Le Blanc tomorrow and I can tell you it met our expectations. Like many of you, I read the reviews as I'm not a frequent Mexico traveler nor do I frequent all-inclusive resorts. We stayed in a "honeymoon beach front room" and it was nice. Definitely upgrade to the beach front view - the lagoon view looks over a green, swampy-looking lagoon. It's worth the upgrade price. The food and drinks were generally good. We liked that there was a good variety at the breakfast and lunch buffet. My wife liked that you were able to choose meats, seafood and veggies and they would grill it for you. At the French restaurant I used some "resort credits" to upgrade to the lobster which was really good. I used the same credits to upgrade at the Italian for a veal chop which was ok. We didn't have a chance to use all the credits but the Spa was definitely the highlight. My wife used credits at the spa and I payed for a pedicure. We also used the spa facilities daily. We liked that you didn't feel pressured to tip (there's 16% gratuity added in everything) but the service was so good most of the time that we wanted to give extra. The service and quiet atmosphere sets this place apart. There was no loud music or rowdy guests. Our butler Mario was fantastic. Actually everybody was fantastic. We brought our own wine with us (I would -the wine selections on the regular and upgraded menus are not great) and drank half the bottle In Our room. When we got to dinner we asked if it would be ok to bring it down to finish during dinner. Not only did they say yes, they actually called the butler and had him bring it down to us. We thought that was great! I don't think this place is a bargain but it definitely feels higher end and I would venture to say probably the nicest hotel on the strip. I would considered my self a discerning traveler but I don't go out of my way to look for every fault.Generally you will not be disappointed if you value good service! Keep in mind that it is still an all-inclusive resort...just a particularly good one.

Nice, clean resort but slightly short of true luxury

We stayed 8 days, I originally booked 7 but had problem getting the right flight so I added an extra day. The booking was 2 separate bookings, so when we tried to book tours, etc could not b/c we only had a one day booking, they could not book our tours etc until the next day when the full week was initiated. We had to sit through their 'membership update' aka timeshare flog. We previously purchased the Palace Resorts membership but this flog provided no incentive to 'upgrade' the membership. We were told we could receive an upgraded room if we upgrade the membership. Palace resorts reserve the upgraded room for only the higher level memberships and would rather it sit empty than upgrade a lower level membership. So much for incentive. The Resort Credit offered is over inflated pricing for the tours, upgraded wine, upgraded food and spa services, plus you have to pay 16% of the over inflated resort credit pricing. A luxury all inclusive resort shouldn't have an upgraded food or wine list devalues the 'luxury'. The upgraded wine was super inflated from what you would pay at a normal restaurant. The service was great! There are butlers on each floor always willing to provide assistance, a nice touch. The pool towel waiters are always quick to provide service. I did read in one of the descriptions on a website that towel waiters always quick to provide a cool wet towel, not one was provided during our stay, must be a service no longer provided. I liked that each group was provided with an ice bucket to keep your drinks cold and the ice bucket was refreshed as needed.Check out, the last couple of stays at a Palace Resort have had trouble with the check out billing. The Resort Credit not corresponding accurately aka billing more money than credit usage, and it takes the attendant quite a long time to rectify. Advice: make sure you have a lot of time to check out.We took our 18 yr old daughter, it was nice that the resort is Adult Only. The restaurants, the food and presentation was very good. The breakfast and lunch buffets had a great selection. I did miss having a smoothie and would recommend a juice/smoothie bar. Otherwise there was no shortage of good food whether it at the restaurants, pool or your room.We did 2 tours: Chichen Itza and Isla Mujeres with snorkeling. We did the upgraded Chichen Itza tour, it made for a very long day but combine two tours in one. We like the snorkeling with the Isla Mujeres b/c the group snorkels from the drop off point to another spot where the boat is waiting, as opposed to snorkeling around the boat. The resort is premium priced but falls slightly short on some of it's luxury.

One of the most amazing hotel in Cancun. It's so nice arriving and stay here before going home in Playa del Carmen the day after. Just arrived from Dubai and need a rest, even though I slept in the jet.Francesca Lustrissimi P.s don't miss it

Misses the Mark

Never a big fan of all-inclusives, but was hoping LeBlanc would persuade us otherwise. We exchanged our time-share week through Interval; and at a lofty $600 per night (for 2) add-on for the all-inclusive, the bar was set high. Sorry, but they missed.Pros:Great service from start to finish. Especially, Vanessa in Guest Relations who handled our request to switch rooms flawlessly, Fausto in the International Restaurant, Cesar in the French Restaurant, Alexander at the bars, and Jorge and Daniel at the beach cabanas.Butlers on each floor are a great touch. Although we did not use them extensively, they were there when needed and could not do enough to help.Spa facility is outstanding.Entertainment every night at the 3rd Floor Stage, though it could have use a bit more variety.Rooms are modern and high tech, bathrooms could use a bit more privacy though and the shower/toilet area is a bit small.Cons:If you drink beer and hard liquor only; great selection and top shelf brands. However, the house wines are undrinkable. You must use $100 of Resort Credit to 'upgrade' to a $9 (US Retail) bottle of Menage a Trois Chardonnay. If you want to a modest Stag's Leap Chardonnay ($25 US Retail) it will set you back $117 in hard cash (Resort Credit not permitted to be used)......nor can you get a glass of either at any bar.Food is good; plenty to choose from at the buffet breakfast (the fresh made omelets are excellent) and the buffet lunch. At first taste, the dinners are good; but once you make the rounds of the 3 specialty restaurants you realize the entrees at all 3 are quite similar. Would have hoped for more diverse menus.Resort Credit....to quote a previous reviewer:.....Ponzi Scheme. You are given an 'inflated' $1,500 to spend on overpriced items...$100 for poor quality wine, $95 for an 'upgraded' steak....but then you pay, in real $, a 16% 'service fee' on these purchases. So, that upgraded $9 bottle of chardonnay that is only a cut above the undrinkable house wines will still cost you $16. All this for the $600 per day all-inclusive? Please, if you want to call yourself 5 Diamonds or 5 Stars or whatever...act like it and get rid of this Ponzi scheme and provide decent wine by the bottle AND by the glass. Very few rooms have terraces or balconies...so forget that cup of coffee in the a.m. overlooking the ocean or the cocktail in the afternoon doing the same. They advertise you can use the facilities at all the other Palace resorts in the area; but you are on your own as far as transportation. Moon Palace with all the water sports is $80 round trip! Summary:Great service, nice facility; quantity over quality at a high price. For my money I would go to Excellence in Playa Mujeres.
