Our Opinion

A great resort spot for spring breakers looking for a place that offers both options of relaxation and parties. The ME Cancun has modern and spacious suites. Great pool area. This spot is most notable for their bars and nightclub scene. There are plenty here to choose from.

Only 1 block away is La Isla outdoor Shopping Mall with aquarium, theatres, great restaurants and just 5 minutes from the hottest nightclubs that this lively city has to offer!

I want to say that we were disappointed this was closed,, we love this hotel but we were transferred to the melia paradisius which was great but food not quite as good. Also, we were disappointed because every time we come we enjoy getting a massage by Pam Ponce. She is amazing and it was a shame that she does not also work at the melia paradisius. Honestly, She is a massage therapist who delivers the best deep tissue massage Ive ever had. She listens to your request and adjusts and tailors the massage specifically to meet your needs. Her hands are fantastic! Your hotel is lucky to have her as she is very good. I have had many massages in many places and not everyone is able to tailor a massage to suit your needs. Too many therapists get stuck doing the same thing for everyone. I do hope that the ME cancun will open soon and Ill be visiting in the near future. Also, the general manager Flavio has been very helpful with our transfer to the melia paradisius. We really appreciate his prompt communication with us and all of his help

Cancelled Our Reservation Just a Few Weeks Out

Terribly bummed that ME has cancelled our reservation due to construction. I received an email and couldn't get a hold of anyone for a few days. They have offered to move us to a downgraded resort or a resort geared towards families, in which case - neither were equivalent to ME. I've been to ME before and really enjoyed my time there, so I'm disappointed it had to go this way - but don't think I'll ever go back, as how can you really trust a resort that does that once?I understand things happen and I've been trying to stay positive and do what I can with what I have. But after having booked this many, many months ago and only receiving notice 3-4 weeks out, it doesn't leave us with many options. On top of that, I'm studying for the Bar Exam, which means I'm limited on time to do my research.In any case, ME has said "they will refund and has refunded my full reservation" the day I finally reached the resort's reservation department (you must CALL THE RESORT DIRECTLY + make sure to get WRITING CONFIRMATION WHILE on the phone), but I'm waiting for that to hit my account until I can feel some relief.On top of that, no matter what option we go with that is at minimum equivalent to ME, we have no option, but to pay more - $300-500/person. Doesn't seem like much, but it is when you already had a reservation set, paid in full, and looking forward to another fun time at ME.I don't even think I got an apology, but no point in putting up a fight when they don't seem to care about repeat customers or at minimum building that relationship. I hope others have better luck with finding a replacement resort.What an exhausting experience.

Hotel Reservations were cancelled - ME relocated us to another 5 star hotel

Hello all! First I want to say that I gave 3 stars, because I have a very mixed feeling about my last trip and how it was handled. I am not in the hospitality industry, but I see things from both a hotel perspective and as the consumer. Here is my experience: My boyfriend and I booked the ME hotel on November 28, 2016 for our trip on February 1-6 2017. On Saturday January 21, 2017, I called to find out if the hotel had a shuttle. During this call, I found out that the hotel was not opened in January as planned and would not open until March 2017. I was shocked & panicked! I was advised that the hotel had e-mailed everyone with a reservation to advise of the change, but I had never received this e-mail. Eugenia, a Reservation Manager, was very helpful. She explained that I have 3 options: 1. They could place me in one of their other hotels Paradisus Cancun or the hotel in Playa Del Carmen at no additional cost.2. I could upgrade to the Royal Service Adults Only section at Paradisus Cancun for $70 extra per night.3. They could give me a full refund. Ultimately we decided to Upgrade to the Royal Service Adults Only section at Paradisus Cancun for a total extra cost of $350 (5 nights). This hotel was absolutely amazing - we had a Bali Bed 3 different days, an Adults Only restaurant La Palapa - which is where we ate every day for lunch, a beautiful beach, amazing service from the waiters and waitresses, and Gerardo, our Butler, who made dinner reservations for us, showed us around the hotel, booked our Bali beds, and put roses on our bed our last night. By far, the staff at Paradisus was AMAZING. A true 5 star experience.Now for my opinion on how the hotel handled this situation. First, I feel very fortunate that I contacted the hotel prior to my trip, as I have no idea what would have happened if we just showed up Mexico! They said the e-mail probably went to my junk mail, but I never found that I was contacted. I would strongly encourage Melia to contact customers by phone to make other arrangements. Second, what were they suppose to do? I would much rather be given the options of choosing another hotel or getting a full refund, then have to listen to construction during my stay while they finished renovations. While I am grateful for that, I really wish they would have offered the Royal Service at no extra charge. I had booked an adults only resort, and would hope they would honor that. On the other hand, I didn't just get adults only for an extra $70 per night - I got a butler, bali bed, access to the spa, etc. I really have mixed feelings about this resolution. (The $70 may have been a discounted rate - I didn't ask.)Third, my experience with this company and all the staff, was very pleasant. We were all put in an unfortunate situation and made the best of it. I ate the best food, had the best service, and an amazing vacation that was just not long enough. Overall, I will book with Melia again.

Our prepaid rooms cancelled and no word from Melia Customer Service on refund or reschedule!

We paid in advance for a room during our honeymoon at ME Cancun in February. Last week I received an email stating we cannot stay there because of renovations and that they would contact us for placing us at another property. It has been a week and I haven't heard a word. I've emailed their customer care several times without response. I've called Melia customer service several times and got the run-around. Our wedding and honeymoon is 30 days out and I have no idea where we're staying. Horrible customer service. I'd stay away.

Beautiful fun place it was all exclusive people were nice but some of the merchants on property was rude especially if they think you don't know Spanish.... lotta things to do at the resort.... Beach was clean it was just a fun time I mean the food was great everything
