Our Opinion

The Oasis Palm is a great hotel for young or student travelers that are looking for a great place to party. The party atmosphere can be felt both inside and outside of the resort. The pools play host to parties during the day and the city center is nearby, where there are plenty of nightclubs and bars. The food is OK here. While there is an array of choices available, it's nothing to write about. Their bar staff deserve recognition, as they are known for speedy and great service. The rooms are well maintained and cleaned regularly by attentive staff. The check-in and check-out process is a hit or miss at times. Depending on the volume of guests coming into the hotel, guests might experience slower service that usual. This is an OK hotel. However, if you're looking for a resort that's known for it's laid-back and relaxing atmosphere, it's better to look elsewhere.

Popular with younger travelers, Oasis Palm combines the convenience of including your meals and drinks with one of the best locations in Cancun - within walking distance of shops and nightlife. The laid-back seaside and poolside restaurants invite you to relax.

Location: Directly on the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, 5 min to downtown Cancun, 30 min from the airport.

Good Hotel but no pool umbrellas' shade under the hot blazing sun for the price we paid.

My only complaint about this good service all-inclusive beach hotel is that no shade from the super-hot tropical burning sun was provided to guests & the many children around its lovely long pool. Most guests were trying to shelter under meager palm tree leaves & a few tree branches to no avail. When I asked the pool staff for an umbrella to sit under they said there weren't any anywhere & totally ignored me, flipped me off, so guests had to burn to a crisp very quickly under Cancun's very strong, dangerous & unrellenting UV sun rays. Some advice: At least provide your guests with pool umbrellas on request !!

Sub Par Hotel

We had to make the best of our 6 day vacation by staying away from the hotel during the day. It was an over crowded. No air circulation on the elevators..no restrictions on noise through the halls or quiet hours...restaurants lines extremely long so the "all - inclusive" label is a lie as the restaurant lines were always long and you had to book reservations early only to be told they could only reserve a limited number of people. The room was nice. The restaurants the white box and maki taco were superb! Alcohol was watered down. We had to leave daily to enjoy our week in Cancun. Thanks to the Island of Isla Mijueres and Cozumel. By the way, do not stay at this end of Cancun...its just way too over crowded

Not Impressed, however they made it right

My girlfriend and I came to Cancun on one of those "free vacation" trips offered by VIP booking. We quickly learned free doesn't really mean free. Yes we fell for the proverbial "Okie Doke". They put us up in the Oasis Palm, which was not what we're use to. And by the way, the free trip came along with a mandatory visit to an off property "time share" sales pitch that was suppose to last no more than 90 minutes, that actually lasted 4 hours. Back to the hotel. Our first room we were given a small room with two full size beds pushed together in hopes we wouldn't realize it wasn't a king size. My girl being the trooper she is, immediately contacted the front desk and voiced her displeasure. Shortly after, the put us in the second room, which was comfortable, however being at the far end on the hotel, it was right next to the dock where the party ship is laid to final rest for the evening. And by the way, although the ship is parked, the party with full DJ continued until 2am. The music as well as the strobe lights easily penetrated our paper thin glass and walls. The following morning my girl was at it again, and we were moved to yet another room. Did I mention the food at one of the casual restaurant's idea of roasted chicken is left over chicken strips, and the potatoes were similar to instant but no really. For a moment I thought they were lumpy grits. Being from the south, grits would've been acceptable, unfortunately it was a bad attempt at mashed potatoes. At some point we decided to go to our room and get some sleep. Unfortunately our new room sat slightly above the courtyard where the Mariachi band plays. When my girl once again went to the front desk, they assured her the band stops playing at 10pm. Only problem is it was now 10:45pm. Since it was the weekend, they go until 12am. Well they didn't stop until some ungodly hour past 1am. The following day everything came to a head. When the manager came in he was already informed that we were displeased with everything the hotel had offered. He agreed to move us next door to their sister property the Grand Oasis at no addition charge. For an extra $20.00 person per day we were granted all the privileges of the other guests. This property was much quieter and catered more to our tastes. At home we're usually in bed no later than 10pm. To the Oasis Palm's credit, it doesn't cater to the quiet life style I'm accustomed to. All their other guests appeared to be happy and enjoying their stay. Their kids were happy as well as the young adults. Would I ever stay there again? Absolute not! However I would highly recommend it to my 22 yr old and his friends. As well as people with kids whose standards aren't amazingly high. I would however stay at the Grand Oasis again with my younger children.

Amazing holiday love cancun

OK good points.the oasis hotel is in a perfect location with amazing beaches and a beautiful surrounding the pools are really good.our room was clean and spacious and towels cleaned daily.the bed sheets was only changed once a week.the daily entertainment guys are brilliant and the waiters and staff are helpful.you must take a trip on captain hook pirate boat next door it's fantastic and very entertaining. The evening shows are also top notch.bad points the receptionist are terrible if you speak english it's very hard to communicate with them they also tried over charging me for a room safe which is a joke been charged for in the first place its very expensive.it does accommodate more for Mexicans than any other country and I could feel that being there.the food is rubbish I could stomach breakfast and snacks (burgers hotdogs chips nachos)but the evening meal was terrible under cooked chicken and slop everywhere.we had to eat out alot which I didn't expect to do on an all-inclusive holiday.the drinks are crap to beer bad only one choice and cocktails are just as bad cheap alcohol used for every drink.we did have a nice surprise the one evening we got invited to dine in the grand oasis palm next door which was nice also they invited us on the captain hook boat free of charge and we received a fresh fruit bowl.i think we got all those after filling a survey sheet out and gave a 3 out of 5.if I was going to go to Mexico again I wouldnt choose this hotel or recommend it.but we made it a fantastic holiday to remember we swam with dolphins and went to chichen itza etc I would recommend Mexico/cancun but not this hotel.

Not quite what you expect!! and not quite all inclusive"

My family stayed in July 2017 for 10 nights and arrived at the hotel at 4pm to be greeted by a porter (Eduardo) wanting to take our baggage which was a great start and very helpful after an 11 hour flight, When booking in the receptionist spoke very little English which was a shame because we only found out after he confirmed that our request for a room with a balcony was addressed so you can imagine how annoyed we were to find that we were given a room on the 6th floor without one and the room was so very outdated. The porter was very helpful because he knew we were unhappy and went downstairs to speak with reception who denied stating we had a balcony so he did what he could and i tipped him well for the help. We had to stay 1 night in this particular room and the 2nd day had to pay £200 extra for same style of room but on the 7th floor and with a balcony this time (thanks to the porter Eduardo) - this did however make our stay better overall as it makes a big difference, the rooms are cleaned well although sheets need to be cleaned/replaced more regularly and not just once per week as we noticed that we would have the same sheets/ pillowcases for days. The food.....well.. Breakfast is fine now dinner on the other hand was not overall .. Argaves is very good apart from the reservation queue which started at 3pm and you are not guaranteed a table so you are left with Dos Lunas and the other one to choose from. after one visit in each of these we decided to eat out every night because its simply not to a good enough standard and the meat is not cooked well which concerned me, it was also cold. The snack hut during the day was better and our daughter liked it so we cannot fault it really as its what you expect. Bugers, Nacho's and chips and things like that so it was convenient really. The bars - Sports bar was the easiest to get a drink from because there were little or no queues, the beer is not great and limited and the cocktails were not great but what i would expect from a 3 star hotel i suppose as its certainly not anything more. Kids club - great idea and very helpful but i have a concern because i was able to walk in at any point and see my daughter and no one would say anything so really i could be anyone so this really does need to be addressed, the entertainment for the kids there is great, my daughter loved it even though she cannot speak Spanish so the staff do really try to help here. I believe that hotels should actually take action on customers comments/feedback because i see a lot of negative comments on trip advisor about this hotel and it does have potential to be great especially given its location but it must include the WIFI and safe key without extra charges because it makes you feel cheated if im being honest. So having stayed for 10 nights would i go back?? Sadly no because there is so much better to choose from and those hotels really are "ALL INCLUSIVE" and at the same costs (or just slightly more) - I must make another point and praise the entertainment team, they really do keep you smiling and make a real effort! Overall rating 4.5/10
