Our Opinion

The Oasis Palm is a great hotel for young or student travelers that are looking for a great place to party. The party atmosphere can be felt both inside and outside of the resort. The pools play host to parties during the day and the city center is nearby, where there are plenty of nightclubs and bars. The food is OK here. While there is an array of choices available, it's nothing to write about. Their bar staff deserve recognition, as they are known for speedy and great service. The rooms are well maintained and cleaned regularly by attentive staff. The check-in and check-out process is a hit or miss at times. Depending on the volume of guests coming into the hotel, guests might experience slower service that usual. This is an OK hotel. However, if you're looking for a resort that's known for it's laid-back and relaxing atmosphere, it's better to look elsewhere.

Popular with younger travelers, Oasis Palm combines the convenience of including your meals and drinks with one of the best locations in Cancun - within walking distance of shops and nightlife. The laid-back seaside and poolside restaurants invite you to relax.

Location: Directly on the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, 5 min to downtown Cancun, 30 min from the airport.

Old and funky

When we walked in, it smelled like a sewer!! They said we had "won" a free upgrade with a free shuttle and transferred us to their "5 Star" sister hotel: Grand Oasis and the whole experience (I'll write a separate review for it) was a completely nightmare from the 3 hour check-in, to construction, old rooms, bad food and people smoking weed in public!! So bad that we checked out that same afternoon and purchased 3 nights at Paradisus Cancun (2 hotels down the beach). DO NOT STAY AT ANY OASIS!!!!! Save yourself the headache, anger and frustration!

Great hotel, especially for the low price

We had a great time at Oasis Palm, and there are many positives at this hotel: -Great location close to lots to do-Gorgeous views (we had a corner room on a top floor)-Food is good & big selection-Lots of activities for all-Night market-Hammocks in the waterHowever, with most places, there are small improvements that can be made that will make a big difference:-Entry rug is a trip hazard and should be small and circular UNDER the table and taped down, or eliminate it altogether-Put anti-skid strips on the marble steps and in other slippery areas throughout the hotel. We saw a girl in leather sandals take a NASTY fall; she probably broke her tailbone.-Hook near bathroom - if someone is in the bathroom and you have made the mistake of hanging your towel on the back of the door (where the hooks are currently located), you're out of luck. A hook outside of the bathroom would be a nice touch.-A/C- numbers are worn off - needs updating, eg: to key system, to save electricity when room is vacant, and save the hotel owners $. Warm and cool areas are inconsistent in the room. A floor or clip-on fan on-request would be nice.-Inconsistent shower water temperature throughout hotel-Update room decor (at least bedspread & curtains)-Add signs in hallways in multiple languages to be quiet / be respectful to other guests-Offer hotel workers free language lessons, esp in English; offer basic Spanish lessons every day at the pool or w/ signs throughout the hotel-Offer local handcrafts in the gift shop, not touristy crap-Free wifi would be a nice touch (however, you can get it for free from Starbucks down the street and Sirenas Raw Bar across the channel)-Need a fan or a/c in the elevators- very hot and humid in there.-Peacocks need to be rehomed. Their calls are annoying and start VERY early in the morning (5 am). -The tours are very overpriced. We can get them for much less $ by walking a few doors down. The net is that we had a wonderful time here, and despite the suggestions immediately above, we recommend this hotel and would return.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at- money stolen from room

My boyfriend, sister, her boyfriend and I just got back from our stay at oasis Palm a few weeks ago. The oasis palm was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I had money stolen from my room, 1500 pesos were stolen. We put the do not disturb sign on our door when we left on an excursion, we were going on a boat so we didn't want to take all our cash. The maids went in our room and cleaned the room, and took our do not disturb sign. the first thing I did when we noticed our room was cleaned was check my wallet, which was in my suitcase. I had just gone to the bank the day before so I knew I had 1500 pesos missing. We reported the money missing, the had to do an investigation which lasted 2 days, of course the maid denied it and nothing was done. We requested the maids not to go in our room again and they went in and cleaned the room again the next day. Nothing was done about the money at all. All the staff at the hotel were miserable, the rooms were dirty, and there was the same food every single day. The beach was not nice, the water wasn't as blue as the other side of the hotel zone. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, very bad experience and I will not stay here again.

Family Vacation!

Loved our trip, beautiful place, food was ok..was expecting better 3 restaurants we could go to for free basically was the same in each one. Bars and snacks bars all free with the wristband you get once you check in. The time we went was great not crowded at all, always had a great beach side view. My daughter is 7 months so she wasn't exactly able to go to the kids side to play but it was defiantly kid friendly. They had vendors that set up booths right outside by the pool and restaurants where you could buy survivors, loved that didn't have to leave the hotel at all. They had lots of things you could pay extra to do with the hotel, checked some out, prices outrageous. We had a great time either way. BTW there are peacocks around the hotel, friendly, wont bother you, they will wake you up that's for sure, woke up every morning to them making so much noise.

Cousins Birthday Celebration

Oasis Palm Resort has surpassed our vacation experience with the most tiniest gestures. Upon arriving at the hotel we were met by two awesome men(who we forgot the names of), who were excited to welcome us and took charge of insuring our suitcases would make it to our room while we began checking in with Fernanda. Fernánda was amazing, she was thorough and informative about what oasis had planned for us throughout our stay. She has continued to stand by our side for the million and one question we have had about various things such as dinner, spa and discoteca. Elios our room service attendant surprised us on our first night with a wonderful birthday cake in celebration of two of our cousins birthday. On the following day Oasis' room attendants did an amazing job with our room and surprise, another cake! The waiters and chefs in all finning are spectacular, especially Nicolas in the La Bamba restaurant at the Oasis resort. We are beyond grateful of their generous hospitality and look forward to what other surprises they have in store for us! -xoxo 4675/5/17
