Our Opinion

The Oasis Palm is a great hotel for young or student travelers that are looking for a great place to party. The party atmosphere can be felt both inside and outside of the resort. The pools play host to parties during the day and the city center is nearby, where there are plenty of nightclubs and bars. The food is OK here. While there is an array of choices available, it's nothing to write about. Their bar staff deserve recognition, as they are known for speedy and great service. The rooms are well maintained and cleaned regularly by attentive staff. The check-in and check-out process is a hit or miss at times. Depending on the volume of guests coming into the hotel, guests might experience slower service that usual. This is an OK hotel. However, if you're looking for a resort that's known for it's laid-back and relaxing atmosphere, it's better to look elsewhere.

Popular with younger travelers, Oasis Palm combines the convenience of including your meals and drinks with one of the best locations in Cancun - within walking distance of shops and nightlife. The laid-back seaside and poolside restaurants invite you to relax.

Location: Directly on the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, 5 min to downtown Cancun, 30 min from the airport.

We checked in on Saturday April 15th, Checking in was a breeze no issues gave us our room key (3 adults) but only 2 keys. Went to the room, room was very small for 3 adults and 1 child. bathroom was very tiny. Went back to the front desk and ask if there is a larger room that we can move to. explained to the attendant, I am not asking for a larger room for free I will pay the difference, he consulted with his supervisor, and you can plainly see she was totally annoyed that we are asking to move rooms. According to the attendant all the rooms are the same size. I ask is there a suite that we can have consulted again with the supervisor. Answer was the suite is the same size its not that large. I ask can we move to the suite, we were told no,. they may have people checking in, which for me didn't make sense won't you have already book the suites for folks. We were told to come back the next day to see if any availability. Asked if I can add my name stating I am requesting a suite, I was told no. Went back the next day, very nice young lady tried to help us, told us that we will have to put our name down stating such, I told her we were told No we couldn't do that yesterday. Supervisor came up and he told us that we cannot add our names. Long story short Front desk supervisors need to be a bit more cordial and helpful. Towels they kept giving us 3 towels for the room had to keep asking for more towels. Bathroom the water from the shower just splashes right on the floor, the shower did not turn off properly. We asked for extra towels to put on the floor so as not sit in a pool of water while you are on the toilet. The rooms are not ventilated at all. your swim things will take at least 2 days for it to dry. Food was very salty in all of the restaurants. The bars are very crowded. The lobby bar. (my fault didn't read the rules that they gave you) went in with my swim suit (granny looking one shorts and a halter top) I ask for a beer to take outside with me he told me point blank he can't serve me. I understand if I was going to sit in there he said no I cannot serve you (looked at the signs outside didn't say anything, again this was my issue for not reading the fine print). Buffet- very salty in every single place that you ate. Good review - Entertainment is very good, they really take pride in their performance. singers were very good, fire show excellent. Will visit Cancun again but will not stay at the Grand Oasis Palm

A Great week in Cancun!

My wife and I spent a happy and restful week at Oasis Palm the first week of April. We were celebrating our tenth anniversary and we were treated like royalty. Concierge Ocksana took us under her wing for the whole time and made sure we had a perfect stay. The staff are so hard working and friendly. The food was excellent in all the restaurants. The room was ideal - beautiful ocean view with a spacious balcony. Mildred did a super job cleaning our room daily. The beach was gorgeous, the pools outstanding. Air Canada Vacations were so helpful getting to hotel from airport and back, and their agent, Lorenzo, provided info on trips to great places. Entertainment at the resort -- super. I loved the Mariachis who performed almost every evening. The Citque was amazing!Sunday (Palm Sunday), a short walk to the Resurrection Church, and an English service.I could go on, but enough to say thanks to one and all at Oasis Palm! I want to go back!!

Great stay for the money!

The place is great for families with young children, there are tons of stuff for them to do, and everything is greatly arranged. We were two families with teenage kids, there are less options for them, but they found enough company for the beach volley and to enjoy Cancun clubs later at night. The staff is very friendly. Special thanks to the amazing MARIBEL at the front desk who courteously considered my birthday, and arranged a wonderful room for us, which made our stay twice as enjoyable. The space is used to its best capacity, everything is very close and convenient. The pool is right outside the hotel, and literally a step away from a nice beach. I found the food being of great variety, even though the buffets are not huge.We never checked the a la carte restaurants, but enjoyed the sushi bar several times at Grand Oasis Palm, which is also one step away. The only two things e would adjust are the lines at the bars and coffee availability. There should be either more bars, or more bartenders, though those who work there are wonderful. I personally don't drink much alcohol, but consume a lot of water, and had to stay in line for up to 15 mins just to avoid dehydration at the beach. I would suggest placing a water tank separately, so the guests could self serve themselves with water whenever they want. Also, there is no way to get coffee at Oasis Palm, unless at the buffets or restaurants. The snack bars don't have coffee, so you would have to purchase it at Grand Oasis. I personally don't drink coffe, so that was no bother for me, but the rest of the gang was constantly edgy.Other than that, there were really no problems. The nightly entertainments were awesome, the animators were fun, the music by the pool was not too loud (this is my 11th time at Cancun, and the first time when I could relax at the pool without earplugs:)All in all, that was a great stay for the money, and again, I strongly recommend Oasis Palm to those with smaller children.Thank you!

It's exactly what you pay for

You are receive the service you pay for. If you are trying to get the bargain, and forced into a presentation for a low price of 357 then extra costs of taxes, etc. = making the trip about 600 without tickets.

Recent stay

April 13, 2017We had stayed with you a few times and were happy to see some positive improvements from last time. Service was better, rooms were a little old compared to Grand and no minibar. One inconvenience were the beach chairs; old, broken, not enough and no control. People will take the cushions and use them on top of the blue chairs who did not require one and the rest were forced to use the hard plastic ones, very uncomfortable. Definitely a need to purchase enough chairs and cushions. Maybe some extras will help. Service was good everywhere, one associate stood out, the beach drinks waiter Hervin. Great personality and caring, always asking if we were comfortable and ready to assist with anything. Great service. Will be back.
