Our Opinion

A really solid place for those who are looking for a decent place to stay that has good service and good value. Good food options for both buffets and a la carte restaurants. However, this isn't the resorts strongest selling point. This resort is great for both families and couples alike. There are plenty of activities for both types of travelers to partake in. For those wanting to partake in the party scene, the main Cancun strip is only a few minutes taxi ride. This is a really great budget friendly option for those wanting to get away and experience rest and relaxation in Cancun!

Review of Park Royal Cancun Resort and the Services

We spend our class reunion in Park Royal Cancun Resort from May 14 through May 21, 2017. The resort is small in compared to others. It is a little aged. Our rooms were big and can sleep 6. I was a little worry about the hard bed from reading the review others. However, I found the beds are comfortable to my standard. Cleaning crews was excellent. Front desk personnel Isabel and Angel are great. They are very patient and helpful. The resort has 2 restaurants, one is buffet style and other is full service Italian restaurant. Both are good but I tend to favor the buffet more. There are more selections in the buffet than the Italian. We have great services from the waiters from both restaurant, especially Miguel and Gabriel in the buffet side. They are excellent and go out their way to make us comfortable when dining. They know how many people in our party and what do we like to drink. Our table is always reserved there for 13 of us. We missed them when we have to say goodbye.

Park Royal Cancun

The resort is small with one large pool, one adult only pool and one really nice kids pool/recreation pool. The place is immaculate! Even the beach bathrooms are kept immaculately clean! The beach is beautiful and resort located right across street from a large shopping mall with good shopping and restaurants. Service was also very very good. Manuel in the lobby bar and Carlos in the dining room were awesome. Alphonso, who runs the only restaurant in the resort is also very accommodating. The food in the restaurant was very good (don't order the steak) and the drinks are high end as compared to the drinks you get as part of the all inclusive package. We were able to eat in the restaurant twice during our 5 night stay. It was not crowded. A little on the boring side; however, with that in mind, it provided us with great relaxation. We took a day trip to Isla Mujeres. No need to take a tour. Get on the City bus to Tortugus beach(about ten minutes) to board the ferry to get to the island. $19 US dollars per person for round trip on ferry. Once there, rent a golf cart for $40 - $50(we paid $45) and start touring the island. We went to the South end first which is very beautiful. The turtle farm is nothing great but for about $3 per person you get to see some beautiful sea turtles. We then went to the North end to Norte Beach. The waters are very calm and you can swim in the water for quite a ways out. There we rented two beach chairs and an umbrella for $15 US dollars and then we ordered an ice chest with 5 Cold Dos Seqi beers for $12. We also ordered a burger and fries. PESOs are needed for purchases on the island and for bus fare. US dollars for ferry ride and golf cart. In summation, if you are looking for a party kind of place, this is NOT the place...BUT ...if you are looking for a relaxing environment with great service, this is a great place to be. The water is also gorgeous!

Great Beach

Well, this is all subjective. So let me list what I see as the pros and cons of this place. My general feeling is that it was a fine place. I can't say enough about how clean it was, which is my biggest concern. I would go back, but probably not every time.PROs:-- The beach is great! The water is wonderful! The views made my Facebook friends jealous. -- Three excellent pools (if you like to swim). -- Clean.. I mean if cleanliness is next to Godliness, this place is right outside the Pearly Gates! I couldn't find one spec of dirt in the whole place. -- Staff -- there are plenty of them. All the people we talked to were friendly and helpful (see CONs, too). A number of them really went out of their way to help. -- The Food: this is *really* subjective. If you are used to Denny's, this will seem like heaven. If you are used to prime rib and lobster, you will be disappointed. If you have dietary restrictions, you may have some issues. We found the staff willing to make special food for us, but there were a lot of limits.--The drinks -- since it is all inclusive, I thought they would be watered-down and limited, but there were plenty and they were decent.CONS:-- the noise. The floors are all tile. And the ceilings are all high. Even the "quiet" dinner place is so loud, you can barely hear a conversation. If you go to party, then you be ok. If you're looking for quiet, romantic place, keep looking. -- the noise part 2: They were doing construction while we were there. During the day, it was constant noise. It quieted at night, but they were doing construction next door too, throughout the night, so it was never silent. -- The food: the food was good, but not great. The variety was not exceptional. If you want great food, take a cruise instead. But we found breakfast to be really good, and the rest of the meals to be fine. -- the Selling: They will ask you to "take a tour of the hotel" and "get your welcome gift". All of that is sales-speak for "we really want to sell you a time share". They also have a merchants come on property to sell souvenirs to you. It's not bad, but .... seriously... I didn't go there to be a marketing opportunity.--Balconies: maybe a small beef. But only a few rooms have balconies and direct ocean views. For the ones that do, the balconies have no shade, so it's all sun. Who does that? It would have been nice to sit on the balcony for a couple hours an just watch the surf. All in all, our experience was really, really good. For us, the "pros" outweighed the "cons". The only one that was hard for us was the noise. After 7 days there, we were ready to be someplace a little quieter. Hope this helps

I'd never return.

bad food bad service. Soggy and rubbery food. watching TV was like looking through a dirty window. Maintenance when the batteries went out took half a day then they came at 11 PM waking us up when are excursion was at 5 am. Lumpy pillows hard mattresses.
