Riu Palace Peninsula

- All Inclusive Features
An outstanding hotel to visit when you're in Cancun. Compared to the other resorts, the Riu Palace Peninsula is a bit larger than other resorts that you would find along the resort zone. Great a la carte and buffet items to choose from here. The variety of food here is incredible. It can be guaranteed that you'll never experience the same thing twice when dining in this restaurant. Compared to most other all-inclusive resorts, the quality of food here is good. The resort grounds are always clean and well-maintained. While majority of rooms are pretty good, the special suites have a tendency to be cramped. They might offer extra perks such as an in-suite jacuzzi. However, the size of the resort makes it seem like it's The pools are what this resort is notable for. Regardless whatever age you are, there is a pool atmosphere here that is appropriate for you. While the staff remain attentive and try their best to accomodate to your needs, be advised that the check-in process does get relatively lengthy.
We stayed here oct 15-22 with a group of couples. One of our group had an issue with the suite they payed for that took a couple days to resolve. I stayed in a nice suite 1231 on the 12th floor. Nice large balcony and the suite is right by the stairwell so it was very quiet and peaceful. The bartenders and staff at this hotel are amazing! We especially loved the beach bar in the evening and the lobby bar for pre dinner cocktails. The maid service was also amazing. Every day I came back to the room to a very clean room and a new towel animal. The food is hot and miss. I am not a fan of buffets, but it is alright for breakfast. The steak house had nicely flavored and cuts of steak. My boyfriend had lobster with his steak and enjoyed it. We didn't care for the food at Krystal, at all. It was probably one of the worst meals I ever had. The Italian and Japanese restaurant are both very good. The layout of the pools is not ideal, as all the pools are pretty close together. There is a cookout lunch on the beach daily and the food is delicious! The beach area is nice and there is cocktail service available on the beach. The staff here is always happy and works so hard to make sure the guests are happy. They go above and beyond for every guest!!
1st time staying at the RPP. Have stayed at the other 3 RIU hotels in CUN. VERY modern. Arrived 3 hours early so not able to check in early, but they let us have our wristbands early and went right to the lunch buffet....had the chefs make us some "street tacos" which were the best I have ever had...My friends were extremely impressed with the service and the room view (3rd floor ocean view WITH a jacuzzi in every room). My first complaint was the rum was empty on the wall and it took 3 calls to get a replacement (tooooo long). 2nd complaint, the door lock broke and no maid service the 1st day (maintenance couldn't fix til 4pm). The food was outstanding as expected at the RIU. Many many choices! And you do NOT make reservations at the resturaunts anymore, just show up (and men wear sleeves!)If you are a beachwalker, this is NOT the place to go. Rocky beaches, and small sand area. The service on the beach was great....Jesus took awesome care of us all 4 days. The swimup bar was nice and clean and the service quick. Good to see Alex meeting and greeting guests as well. We spent 15 minutes talking to him about cars, working at the diffferent RIU hotels, ect.....a pleasure to talk to.This place is on par with the RIU Palace Las Americas....love them both and will be back in February! You cannot go wrong here...I highly recommend the RIU Palace Peninsula!
One of the most beautiful properties in Cancun, Riu Palace Pennisula enjoys two very large, yet uniquely different beaches. One beach has a fascinating touch of large rocks between plenty of white sand, which gives amazing contrast. Then, the main beach, which enjoys a large white-sand shallow wading shelf and turquoise surf that juts out from a traditional palm-tree canopy area. The hotel itself is stunning from every angle, and you can easily lose yourself in different corners, restaurants, or quiet zones. There are plenty of each, spread out. You'd be hard pressed to not find something to your taste and need . . . well, unless you are just looking to complain.I didn't bring my teens this trip, but would have no hesitation about this being our next family destination. The pool area is massive, and architecturally stunning, with several different pools to choose from. Obviously, the swim-up bar pool is not for the faint at heart or prude. After all, this is an all-inclusive property, and many come to get their drink on at the swim-up bar all day. The staff from A to Z was incredibly attentive and friendly, inside and out. The DJ and Fire Party out at the beach on Saturday night was as fun as it gets. Now let's go inside. The lobby is breathtaking. World Class. The Junior Suite with Jacuzzi actually had two Jacuzzis: One traditional tub Jacuzzi in the room, and a full size Jacuzzi on the balcony. I did not find the bump for the suite in the villa unreasonable at all, considering the quality and beauty of this space. The fitness area was acceptable, well-equipped. Although if you're a fanatic like me, you'd want a slightly larger, more dedicated space than the 30 by 60 room. Fortunately you can get coffee for your 5 a.m. workout 24/7 in the Sports Bar next door. Nirvana watching sunrise after that.Of the 6 restaurants we ate at 4. The steakhouse was by far the best. Go ahead and be a glutton, double-servings, two-lobsters, bottomless wine, whatever your heart desires....plan on making it a two-hour feast. I easily consumed just in food the difference in price that this spectacular all-inclusive resort charged. Concierge/front desk were wonderful in directing us specifically to 4 amazing excursions. More on those in other reviews. Each return from the jungle, or hike, or boat trip was met with this beautiful and inviting property awaiting your every need. Book it now.
This hotel is absolutely incredible. The grounds are impeccable, there are workers constantly cleaning. The rooms are spotless, and have fabulous maid service. The food is to die for and the service is above standard. They accommodate to your ever need. I would definitely visit again
My partner and I arrived 18 September and though hotel was lovely waiting staff amazing and a credit to hotel. This hotel is not family friendly around the pool it reminded me of club 18-30 loud music all day drinking games forcing drinks down ppl throats lad in front of us was given that much drink he passed out and was left in a lounger till he vomited then my partner went and informed staff after she had gave him water and helped clean him up a bit with wipes this wasn't a one of either afternoon consists of getting the drunk ones up and simulation strip contests or lap dancing contests!!! Certainly not a family atmosphere around poolsSo we spent our time at beach away from the 18-30 reps for first four days, then on the thurs been out in sun all day at beach around 5pm we went back to room to get ready for the evening and dinner patio door had. It been closed properly by cleaner so the humidity and heat outside hitting the cool room makes it fill with condensation so floor was wet and slippy discovered this after I went to turn on shower hadn't turned it on when I feel due to the condensation on the floor and uneven tiles I broke both elbows in the fall and hit my head on the marble my partner called reception for help as I was lying there with broken arms no help offered nobody even sent to help all they asked constantly can we pay for doctor as I was lying screaming in pain my partner put phone down to help me to be called back to be asked we'll do we want to pay for a doctor or not!!! Finally managed to get down to reception they could see state I was in and way my arms were broken and we got told they couldn't help us and to walk to sister hotel 10 mins away with 2 broken arms and almost passing out with the pain shocking reception staff not even offered slightest help just points out door and tells us to walk next hotel !!!Got to sister hotel and riu staff there were shocked at my treatment and got me escorted to the nurse who got me to the hospital where it was confirmed both elbows broken one with multiple fractures so arrived back at hotel later that night spoke to night staff reception had not even logged the incident asked to speak to a manager to be told no managers available size of this hotel and no nite manager or medical services?? So got no help whatsoever called thomsons as reps phone was turned of they said they would contact him and inform him so no help at advice from thomsonsNext day still no contact from rep and when called thomsons in uk they said it was his day of and had turned his phone of but they had emailed him which he had received but still no help offered from thomsons spoke to manger of hotel who said his staff hadn't told him about incident and checked cctv to confirm events he apologised and said staff would be given further training but that's no use to me I was treated inhumanily they saw the pain and distress I was in and not one bit of help rest of holiday spent in plaster hotel never offered to help me if I wanted anything my partner had to run around sorting it herself during the next 2 weeks from hell there was another 4 ppl hospitalised and came back with fractures during our stay Only good thing here is waiting staff they went out there way to accommodate and help us management and reception staff shocking treatment I received
