Our Opinion

The Royal Solaris Cancun is a great place to stay for both families and couples alike. While the atmosphere caters more to couples, the resort has an amazing kids club that is perfect for families. There are decent a la cart and buffet items to choose from at this resort. The grounds are well maintained. While the rooms appear older than what you'd experience at an all-inclusive, they are still well maintained. The gym area though does need a little bit of an upgrade. Great staff here. They ensure that you're getting the most out of your trip. Be advised that this resort does not offer free Wi-Fi.

Great family vacation

This was the First family vacation in decades, and definitely a memorable one. I've been to many all inclusive resorts, but in my opinion, Royal Solaris was the best to date. You definitely get your money's worth and treated with such respect. The endless choices at the buffet, including dancing visits from Pancho and staff with balloon animals, the different themes every day, and the special dinners were all spectacular. There was always something going on, whether out by the pool and all the activities available, fashion shows, or drink tastings. The upgrade to a jacuzzi room was well worth it also. If you don't want to stay in, they also have a jacuzzi by Rosmarinus, a kids pool/club and playground, multiple pools in close proximity to the pool bar, and of course, the beach. There are servers everywhere if you're in need of a beverage which is great, and keeps you from having to make multiple trips to the bar yourself. Our go to guy was Filemón on the beach. He definitely made our stay, he was so attentive, friendly, informative, and overall an absolute pleasure. (Give that guy a raise!! 😁) Aside from day activities, there are different shows daily at the theatre that are performed by the staff and it is definitely a great activity for families. If you make it past all that, and still have energy, there are also daily shows in the lounge downstairs with dancing and music. Like I said, always something to do. I could keep going on and on about my stay, but why not experience it for yourself? I obviously highly recommend it!

Great Trip

Starts with the cons.Read reviews before I travelled and was intimidated by the Time Share stuff. Learnt that the key is when you arrived, there is a group of staff there who will offer you a tour or introduction of the hotel; if you declined then you have avoided the harassment of the time share. Do note that those staff will ask you for your name so they can eliminate you from their "target" list. Another tactic they use is to offer pyou freebies if you willing to attend the talk. If you declined, you are pretty much safe.Food selection is repetitive. If you are fancy for 5 star hotel food, this is not the place for you. No room service unless you are their VIP. Internet is expensive. Cons:Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I would like to give a special compliment to Lori. She is the most hardworking waitress in the hotel. She works morning shift in the La Fuentes restaurant. Very friendly and courteous, she always check on customers to make sure we all well taken care of. Took the advice from previous review, left tips separately for the house keeping and fridge restocker. Bedding was done promptly and fridge restock daily.I sprained my ankle the second day at the Resort. The staff are very efficient and they are on top of things. The moment I twisted my ankle, one of the staff came and checked on me immediately. Within minutes, the medical staff was there, Client Service Manager Debbie ( I may have the wrong name) came to check on me and she offered me complimentary room service. I was given a wheel chair to use for the rest of my stay. So I say, the service there is superb.Even though I was stranded in the hotel, I still enjoy the stay. We went down to the pool daily and have a blast for the rest of the stay. Can't comment on their shows as we didn't go. The stage is not wheel chair accessible.

Fun vacation

We stayed at the sister resort Gr Caribe, which was more quiet and perfect for family. However we had access to Royal Solaris to use the facilities. It was a lot of fun with family. Drinks, food etc. All inclusive is the way to go....

Can't wait to go back!

We stayed at this resort for a week in Mid March. The room was small but it was clean and more than adequate. There were several restaurants to choose from in the all inclusive plan. Most of them were very good. They don't have the same menu every night so that provides a good variety of menu choices. The pool was clean and waiters would bring you any drinks you asked for. There were fashion shows everyday and lots of other activities for all ages. The staff is very nice and, they seem to go out of their way to be helpful. Overall, it was a great vacation and we are making plans to go back next year!

Royal Solaris service and entertaining was great but food was mediocre

Our family spent 17_24 April 17 at Royal Solaris and while the resort is a little dated the service, entertainment and mini club (ie kids club) were excellent. The food was mediocre especially dinner. I have not seen so much good looking but poor tasting food in a long while. The meats were overcooked, the fruit selection minimal and the deserts were 1 or 2 days old.The soups were not edible. There was no butter only margarine. I have to believe that the chefs know how to cook so I must attribute the poor quality of the food to economics (ie if food is bad you wont go for 2nd and 3rds). We chose to go to this resort because I had heard good things about the food and kids activities. The kids activities were great. We'll try a different resort next time.
