Our Opinion

The Royal Solaris Cancun is a great place to stay for both families and couples alike. While the atmosphere caters more to couples, the resort has an amazing kids club that is perfect for families. There are decent a la cart and buffet items to choose from at this resort. The grounds are well maintained. While the rooms appear older than what you'd experience at an all-inclusive, they are still well maintained. The gym area though does need a little bit of an upgrade. Great staff here. They ensure that you're getting the most out of your trip. Be advised that this resort does not offer free Wi-Fi.

GOOD BEACH, GOOD STAFF, BUT OVERALL WAS AVERAGE

The weather for Cancun was unpredictable when I visited. The forecast would say it'll storm or rain if checked a day before arriving, however, upon arriving the weather was perfect the whole time. There were clouds that rolled by here and there, but other than that the weather was peachy. For the hotel itself, it was well-kept and the staff was fantastic. It does not come with wifi, but you can get it by paying per day and per device. Our room was cleaned, towels were replaced, and fridge was stocked (4 beers, 4 waters, sodas) every single day. I had a room on the second floor and the beach view was amazing. GET THE BEACH VIEW! The entertainment at the hotel included water volleyball, soccer and other activities like bingo, trivia, etc. The best part was that the beach was clear and warm with small amounts of seaweed. The sand was clear for the most part (not many rocks or shells). There were plenty of chairs and areas to relax in. I would definitely come back to this beach. Also, if you prefer to sit underneath a shaded area like I do, there is plenty of space. Another plus is that there are always waiters walking around to bring you any drink you want. The worst part was the food at the hotel. It got sickening after awhile because they offered the same choices everyday. The food there was either dry, undercooked, or flavorless. At times, I found myself eating some pretty questionable meats and always ended up disliking it. Without a doubt, they favored quantity over quality. If you love food as much as I do, I would not recommend this hotel. Overall, I had a very relaxing 5-day getaway, but I think I'll give another hotel a try the next time I decide to visit Cancun. **P.S. I enjoyed the drinks made at the pool bar over the lobby bar.**

Great Vacation!

I went to the Royal Solaris early January 2017 with a friend of mine for one last get away before classes were back in swing. We had a great time and made a lot of new friends. The entertainment staff was a BLAST! We had so much fun with Paul, Antonella, Martina, Regina, Detric, etc. We can't wait to go back! It was awesome being provided transportation to the nightlife clubs down the strip and the entertainment staff went with to make sure everyone had a great time. Only downfall was the all-inclusive food was pretty much the same every night. There was a lot of variety, just wish they would have changed up the main food options for different nights. Last thing I would change is the wi-fi. It was $16 per day per device while staying there. Granted you're on vacation so hopefully you're not spending a huge amount of time on your phone, but I did run into a few problems when I was trying to figure out something with school and work but would have to pay such an outrageous amount to have any service when I'm already paying for an all inclusive trip. All said and done, I would highly recommend this resort to others and can't wait to go back!

The entertainment staff made my stay great Detric,Regina,Paul,Oliver,Karina and especially Martina and Eder! Go to the shows they are awesome every night! Everything you need is there. Food is great they have a variety of everything you can thank of. Clean rooms their hotel staff works hard rooms were spotless everyday when we return from the pool area. Great staff, "OK" All Inclusive

We stayed in 2 different all inclusive resorts on a recent trip to Mexico and I'm glad this was the first place we stayed and not the second. The staff is wonderful and they work hard. But the amenities are just average and the food left something to be desired (if you want good food, make reservations at Marco Polo). The rooms are comfortable but the elevators were small and often times, our group of 7, which included 3 female gymnast, couldn't ride together because we were "over weight." I have been to a handful of all inclusive and unless it was a really good deal (price-wise), I have to say that I probably wouldn't stay here again.
