Our Opinion

The Royal Solaris Cancun is a great place to stay for both families and couples alike. While the atmosphere caters more to couples, the resort has an amazing kids club that is perfect for families. There are decent a la cart and buffet items to choose from at this resort. The grounds are well maintained. While the rooms appear older than what you'd experience at an all-inclusive, they are still well maintained. The gym area though does need a little bit of an upgrade. Great staff here. They ensure that you're getting the most out of your trip. Be advised that this resort does not offer free Wi-Fi.

Awesome view!!

My husband and I celebrated our 50th Anniversary and our friends celebrated there 35th Anniversary at this resort it was amazing! The staff treated us excellent, rooms keep very clean, great food, great entertainment at the shows we saw. This was our second time at this resort, first time was with family excellent then also. Great place to go! Had a great time and easy access to buses to go anywhere you want. Felt very safe!

Frida was exceptional!

I recently stayed at the royal solaris and had the best time. The hotel was brilliant and we were well catered for. But the staff are the ones that make it. Frida and the rest of the entertainment team were so friendly and involved. They made sure people who wanted to have fun made the most of their time. The shows in the evening were also incredible and of a really high standard. Francisco was especially talented and even made time to mingle after the shows. I would go back again in a heartbeat

Wonderfulness dipped in awesome sauce

We just returned from a 9 day stay at the Royal Solaris in Cancun for our 35th anniversary. What a great time! The staff was so friendly and attentive, frequently remembering our personal tastes. They went out of their way to make us feel special and pampered. The food was a wonderful variety and you had choices of restaurants or quick food places. Depending on your mood you could have a lovely sit down dinner or hit the buffet. The pool was great and the beach always seemed to be groomed to be the perfect place to laze in the sun. The entertainment staff was fabulous and our only regret was that we didn’t attend all the shows they offered. I guess we may have to take a trip back just to take them all in.

Entertainment team and Show cast excellent!

As someone who works in travel I can be quite difficult to impress but I must say I had a wonderful time at Royal Solaris. This was largely due to the entertainment team, who were absolutely fantastic. Whilst I normally hide in a book and sunbathe, the entertainment team were so lovely that I joined in most activities, made many friends and had a great trip full of lots of laughter an fun. In particular Frieda and Isaac were exceptional, going the extra mile to make my friend and I feel welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. I was truly sad to leave.I also want to spend a moment commenting on the fantastic evening shows. As an ex-performer myself I can be a hard judge and wasn’t expecting much from the shows. However, I was extremely impressed by each of the shows and rearranged my plans to make sure I could watch each day. In particular Francisco stood out on stage and at the pool area when he joined the entertainment team. Frieda and Isaac really made my holiday and I can’t wait to return again to see them and the rest of the team.

Amazing, Amazing vacation at Royal Solaris

It's funny to read other people's reviews who complain about stuff. I was reading reviews for months until we arrived wondering what the experience would be like. I especially read the 1 star reviews to be prepared for disappointments that may occur. Those people must have been staying in a different place because there is no reason why this place should not receive 5 stars at every review. The STAFF was just incredible. So much attention to detail we were so impressed. From the service to the SHOWS - don't miss the SHOWS - so amazing. We had a balcony room with a hot tub - such a great experience. We loved the towel animals in our room, the mints on our pillows (hotels just don't do this anymore). The entire vacation was amazing, because it's Cancun, of course it is. But the service and THIS hotel in particular were just so amazing it made the vacation extraordinary. We sat through the presentation for Membership, and even though we were considering it, we decided against it. Even after we said no, the sales people were VERY respectful, not at ALL rude or pushy, they sincerely want to HELP you vacation more on a financial schedule that works. Honestly, we are still considering it and maybe we will be back next year. Definitely we will be back again someday. We didn't bring our children because we were there for our anniversary, but it's a VERY family friendly place and would bring them next time without hesitation. Some practical advice: You don't need to do their excursions although the price is VERY fair if you do. There are public buses that run about every 5 minutes for $12 Pesos (less than $1 US). Take time to explore downtown, go shopping, take the bus to the Ferry to Isla Mujeras and spend a day there. The Ferry is $19 pp round trip. On Isla Mujeras you can rent a Golf Cart for the day for about $38. They will sell you this on the ferry, but you can also book when you get off the Ferry. They don't advertise it at the hotel, but Google Dolphiaris at Ventura Park in Cancun - GREAT place to swim with dolphins for a reasonable price. We even got free tickets to the water park that is there. There is also a FREE shuttle that takes you there from the hotel. Do you research and you can be prepared for all the deals. FYI you can't take pictures of swimming with the dolphins but they have a photographer there taking pictures for you. YES it's expensive. We paid more for the pictures than the swim. It was worth it. :-)
