Our Opinion

The Royal Solaris Cancun is a great place to stay for both families and couples alike. While the atmosphere caters more to couples, the resort has an amazing kids club that is perfect for families. There are decent a la cart and buffet items to choose from at this resort. The grounds are well maintained. While the rooms appear older than what you'd experience at an all-inclusive, they are still well maintained. The gym area though does need a little bit of an upgrade. Great staff here. They ensure that you're getting the most out of your trip. Be advised that this resort does not offer free Wi-Fi.

The Royal Solaris Caribe is separated into two buildings - The Royal Tower has an exclusive American-style and the Caribe Tower has a relaxed ambiance in a Mediterranean style structure. Cancun's most complete all-inclusive resort boasts the best theme parties, fun activities including fashion shows, cocktail-making lessons, balloon contests, cooking lessons, dominos & ping-pong tournaments, Spanish lessons, and much more. By night, the evening shows are some of the most exciting in Cancun. The friendly staff of the Royal Solaris Caribe are professionally trained in the highest standard of customer care to ensure that you have a memorable vacation!

Location: On the beach in Cancun's hotel zone, 20 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes from the airport.

Poor quality for a Cancun Resort

I came to the Royal Solaris for a wedding and it was an awful experience. First, the hotel is old, and I mean "Acapulco old". You will see old and dirty furniture everywhere. Then you have the front desk. We arrived around 10 am expecting an early check in, and we didn't get one, even when the staff promised us one by 12 pm. What was my surprise when I saw more than 3 other groups arriving after us that got rooms immediately. Did I mention we were supposed to be VIP guests because of the Royal Solaris membership? Well, it was useless at this point. When they finally gave us a room (by 4 pm) it was not an ocean view room and they tried to charge me extra for an ocean view room, even when we got there with the group wedding and were guaranteed ocean view rooms, and we paid more than 300 dollars a night! IT’S A SHAME that the groom and bride had to go talk to them and fight for the ocean view rooms so that the hotel would respect the reservation! That was the only way they changed our room to the originally booked one. All in all, the front desk staff was pathetic, and IT WAS THE PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP ONE! We didn’t even get beach towel cards or an explanation on the hotel amenities. On the up side, I must say the staff in restaurants was completely different, because they were nice and caring about the guests. Food was good, expect for breakfast at the main restaurant, which was poor on quality and variety. The beach was the best of the hotel, it is huge and you can swim safely. Also, the wedding ceremony was good but they tried to rip off the bride and groom trying to charge for everything.Overall, Royal Solaris is a SHAMEFUL hotel, not even close to the gorgeous Cancun level. Being hundreds of options here, please look somewhere else.

Entertainment good Facility needs work

The facilities needs a lot of repairs. Broken bathrooms, small towels for the beach, not enough shaded areas on the beach and bedrooms bathrooms not well designed with water bottles in the toilet (weird). The staff is nice and friendly. The nightly shows were very good and the pool side entertainment as well. Not enough outlets in the rooms. The food was Ok, not as good as the Mellia Hotel. Also, the hotel is rather small.Overall it was OK, but I would not stay there again.

Outdated Hotel which lacks eating joints and discription is not as listed on hotels websites

As someone who has been to Cancun many times on the all inclusive deals this hotel is not to description as it was listed . We ended up booking the Royal Solaris resort as a deal that showed on Expedia so did some searching to make sure what Expedia showed matched the hotel website and other sites (most of which Expedia owns). Ended up booking the deal. Arrived at the hotel only to find the lack of eating places on the property. First off the so called Sushi bar is a small little place at the pool (you cannot eat the sushi as the odd smell). Second came the pizza area which again is not eating place it is next to the Sushi bar. (to Royal Solaris's credit the pizza place is the best thing they have). Finally two main dining area's with one formal (need a reservation plus one quick serve area at the pool). Far from the description you will find on Expedia or else where. Moving to the rooms (which need an update). The bathroom is always wet or smelling along with the towels. On a good note the beds are decent. No room service. Drinks are good no issues getting drinks/coffee/or tea or soda. This hotel is noted by others seems to have gone way down from when it was probably a really great resort. Had we known the faith of the resort we would of never booked it and had the description been correct on Expedia again never booked it. We have stayed at Dreamz and other's in Cancun which are proper all inclusive resorts which this is not. If this resort comes up in a bundle and the price is like amazing change the resort and stay else where.

One of the cleanest resorts I have stayed at!

Our trip was outstanding as always! Alberto, Dolly, and Martina were so accommodating and helpful! We were given special attention at the restaurant for our anniversary. Our bartenders were exceptional and the people at the pool restaurant were always so friendly. I love the pizza oven and sushi bar, too. I think it's wonderful that they cater to the children with the kid park and all the activities. We will be returning to Royal Solaris for many more years to come.

Vacation by the Caribbean Sea, WOW

We stayed at the Royal Solaris from 10/12-10/21. It was a fantastic time. We only stayed for 9 days, but that was not long enough, we usually stay 2 weeks. We celebrated our 41 Wedding Anniversary too. We travel here twice a year and we have been going for 15 years. (not timeshare) The Hotel was clean, the workers are so friendly and the food was fantastic, especially Marco Polo. We think of this Hotel as our second home and the workers as our family. The only thing I wish that they would change is the coffee at breakfast, it is never hot enough (sorry) The neighboring Hotel the Caribe also needs to put up a sign to announce what the restaurants are serving for diner. The weather was beautiful and we can't wait to go back. There is a fashion show on Tuesday and Thursday showing beachwear and believe me the bathing suits are the best, I have been purchasing them for years. Check them out. If there is something you need please nicely ask they are there to make your visit special in every way. Lifeguards are great too and we always feel very safe. Don't hesitate to book at the Royal Solaris any time of the year. Have fun and enjoy every minute.
