Casa del Mar Cozumel
- What's Included
Our OpinionCasa del Mar is a cozy little hotel that boasts some of the most breathtaking views in Cozumel. The beach is accessible through a set of stairs. However, it's small and secluded nature makes it an amazing spot for anyone wishing to escape from the hustle and bustle of typical resort life. Accommodations are very spacious and well maintained and the hotel staff are very friendly. The resort is a few minutes walk from the downtown core, making it a great resort for those wanting a quieter and more relaxing stay.
Cozumel is always fun, and this dive trip was no exception. Casa del Mar was steps away from our dive boat. A quiet garden setting with an excellent staff and a decent restaurant. Easy walking to shops and taxis always available. We upgraded to a cabana--a split level with kitchen (although not a single dish, cup or utensil), bath with shower, TV, pullout sofa and dining area upstairs and king bed, full bath and sitting area downstairs. Extremely clean, spacious and lots of windows--well worth the price difference. Great AC and wifi (most of the time).
I have been Traveling to Cozumel every year since 1984. I have stayed at many Hotels on the Island, However when I found the Casa Del Mar Cozumel. The Casa Became my Home! Great Place Wonderful Staff.
If you're looking for luxury, Casa del Mar is not for you. However, if you're a function over form person like me, this place more than does the job, and at a great price. The rooms are a good size, the staff was really pleasant, and the pool/bar/restaurant had everything I needed. It's a bit south of town, which is great if you prefer a little more peace and quiet, and is only a mile from the new marina (Marina Fonatur), which is where some of the best dive boats are. The only two downsides for me were: 1) Walls are thin. I could hear everything going on outside my room. And 2) the internet was free but pretty unreliable. Despite these two things, I'd definitely stay here again.
I visited Casa del Mar Hotel for a week and loved every day. I was in town for a scuba vacation and the hotel made it even better. My room was spacious with wonderful care from the hotel staff. I especially enjoyed the daily 'animal' creation from towels left on the bed each day.The on-site restaurant serves wonderful food. The buffet breakfast features omelets made to order, plus a variety of selections which cover a wide range of tastes. Lunch and dinner offered many choices of which I enjoyed each that I ordered. I cannot choose a favorite because each was a special creation from local tastes to American selections.Wait and bar staff were quick and courteous which also added to the enjoyable atmosphere. The restaurant is an outside/inside type which has an open wall which allows outside dining. Weather is beautiful year round so no need to worry of temperatures of outdoor dining. From the desk staff to those encountered daily were very kind [who also had a knowledge of English]. I highly recommend this location.
We stayed all-inclusive (meals, drinks and daily boat dives) with Phoenix Scuba in September, and we will be back, every year. The room, restaurant and bar, pool were all very nice, at reasonable prices. But the staff totally sold the place, and I expect they will become friends over time! They were so helpful and respectful. The dive masters were exceptional. We had such a wonderful time that I am already online booking it again, for this fall. (Phoenix Scuba, if anyone is interested is going in February. Check out their website.)
