Our OpinionThe Hotel Cozumel & Resort is a great resort option for those wanting a relaxing, as well as an adventurous time in Cozumel. The rooms are very spacious and well-kept, making it a great place for travelers who are wanting to get away and relax. The resort is located relatively close to the city center. This resort is also located near some of the most breathtaking dive sites in Cozumel. A great escape for anyone!
My first time in Cozumel and I'm so glad we stayed at this hotel. We will be returning for another dive vacation here next year. The hotel is older, but the facilities and the grounds are kept meticulously clean. The bed was comfortable and there was a plethora of awesome pillows! Two free bottles of water every day (more if you get a food/drink package). Wifi was great in our room on the second floor. Lots of hooks for drying scuba gear on the patio. Nice organic soaps were supplied in the bathroom. Not much of a view from the room... but who wants to be in their room with all that glorious water to dive in?! The food was great. There was a buffet some times, and a static menu with about 25 different meals on it other times - I highly recommend the cheeseburger and fries. My husband ate either the beef tampanquena or the sirloin center cut in mustard sauce almost every day. The best part of staying at this hotel is the staff; front desk, maid service, bell boys, kitchen, servers, the barman, and the activities coordinator, all of them. Spectacular customer service with a smile. They truly go out of their way to try to make your stay an excellent one
This hotel is a good value. This was our fourth stay. It is the best place close to our preferred dive operator, who picks us up at 7:20 a.m. Breakfast is not possible, so we did not get that package. The rooms are very nice, though the balcony is too small to hang dive gear and sit out. We upgraded to a superior room with ocean view, but the view is not that great. The main feature is a cruise ship at the international pier. The stairs and our third floor location made toting dive gear a challenge (no elevator). The young fellow who handled our three bags had no trouble at all, and he maintained the greatest smile the whole time. The restaurant is modest but serviceable for breakfast if you have time for it, but I would not buy a meal plan. We rented a car to get to town for dinner for much less than the $10 one-way taxi fare. No good restaurants are nearby. We will return for our next trip.
The hotel was very good given the cheap Price. Nice restaurant for all meals during the day - especially the breakfast buffet was popular in our group of travellers. Almost all of us went diving, which was amazing - however, for those who wanted to do something else the possibilities was more limited. No Beach within walking distance - only very turistic shopping opportunities.Staff was okay, rooms also fine. Not amazing, not bad.
My wife and I stayed at Casa del Mar for the second year as part of the United Dive Club. The hotel is older, but very nice. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. There ae no views, but the ocean is a short walk across the street. The food at the hotel restaurant is very good. We bought the all-inclusive meal plan for $40 each per day. This covers all meals and drinks. While the food was very good, it was the same menu each day, which got a little old after 6 days. If you're a drinker, you can easily drink your money's worth each day.The ease of diving while staying at Casa del Mar is the best part. We contracted with Papa Hogs Diving to supply the boats and rental gear. Each AM they arrived at the docks across from the hotel and off we went. After diving, they brought us all back to the dock and it was a short walk back to the hotel for pool and beer.I would highly recommend at stay at Casa del Mar.
I was booked in here, with their food package, for five nights. They were quick and efficient on my arrival, which was very late 23:45pm and remained friendly and helpful for the entire duration of my stay. The room was very comfortable, air conditioner worked exceptionally well, the shower was small but clean and the water hot. Lovely organic soaps, shampoos and body lotions replenished every day. No fridges in the basic and comfortable rooms but ice available. Beds are comfortable, rooms are immaculately cleaned every day and the TV channels have some English ones available, such as HLN.Highly recommend this hotel for the excellent service, quality fresh food served every day for all meals and the facilities of which I did not use much; stunning gardens, swimming pools, Tennis courts and dive facilities. Excellent diving here, but was unable to take advantage due to business requirements. Was here during low season, so pretty much had the place to myself...
