Melia Cozumel Golf All Inclusive

The Melia Cozumel is a great resort for those wanting a relaxing getaway. A very laid back resort with amazing views of the beach. The food items are OK. For those looking for a luxurious getaway, there are a variety of other options available for a better deal.
Situated on one of the loveliest beaches in Cozumel, the popular Melia Cozumel Golf All Inclusive combines elegance with magnificent authentic Mexican, architecture and an impressive array of facilities and entertainment.
Location: On the beach, 10 min to town of San Miguel, 15 min from the airport.
Let me start by saying, my wife and I have been to Cozumel 11 times total, split between 5 different resorts from the south end to the Melia at the north end. Also several other islands, along with several trips to the Playa Del Carman area. Resorts ranging in size from 300 rooms to over 2000 rooms. We last stayed at the Melia early July 2017 and just booked again for this coming July. The Melia is a smaller resort, I believe around 400 rooms or so. We have stayed in the tower and the ocean view bld. next to the buffet. Booked the ocean view again. Prefer next to the buffet. No elevator, but the stairs do us good. The food at the buffet we found to be ok, never went hungry. Side note about buffets they make enough food for the guests that they have, which come from all over the world, every ones tastes are different, but they do a good job. Again We always find something we like, but don't like everything. This is the case every where we have stayed. Larger resorts just have larger selections to chose from. We ate at the Italian Restaurant twice in our last stay and found the food and service to be very good. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. The bathrooms are a bit small but ok.Yes most rooms may have a musky smell to them, every place we've stayed has. It is to be expected, your in the tropics and within a few hundred yards of the ocean. The beach, in my opinion is the nicest of any resort on the island, some nice beaches at the south end resorts, but the Melia's is like powder. The water will sometimes get murky in front of the Melia. This is cause by the ocean currents and I believe the pier just to the south. If this happens while your there, just go on the other side of the pier. If you like to snorkel walk south down the beach about 1/4 mile and enter the water in front of the Westin and snorkel back to the pier, the current will normally help you along. Is the Melia perfect? No. But no resort we've stayed at has been. If your going to let one or two small things ruin your vacation, you may want to stay in the States or Canada.I would recommend the Melia to Family's and couples, not a place to stay if your looking for a big party atmosphere, Cozumel is know for its diving not its partying. The Melia is an excellent value for the money.
We stayed at Ocean Premium Room. The room is very confortable, the bathroom is good and bathtub good. The view is amazing!!! All staff is very kind and helpful. The food is delicious and very variated, we loved specially the breakfast. We are vegetarian and we find a lot of options, the restaurant staff was very kind in making different dishes for us also.In our first night, the shower was broken, this was sad, because was our first night, but fastly we were moved to another room, which was everything fine!!!We reserved at hotel a tour for snorkle and it was amazing!!!! We loved !!!!!The hotel is very clean and everything well organizated! Thanks Melia!! We spend a lovely honeymoon!
We stayed at Melia Cozumel Jan 2018. The staff is one of the best parts of the resort. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. It’s all-inclusive, but the food was still fairly good especially considering the reasonable price. They have a great beach and lots of activities for the kids. If the opportunity presents itself, we would return.
Our group of 12 had an amazing time at Melia Cozumel. The resort was filled with hard working, exceptional staff. The Activity Centre (Mary, Nolberto, Otoniel, Carlos and Animador) provided a wonderful personal touch and added a lot of fun to all the activities. When just walking around the resort, they knew us by name and would stop to chat. Their personal touch and smiling faces made us feel so welcome. We found the food well prepared and well served at both the buffet and the a la carte sittings. There was a good variety in the buffet and always something new to try. They also had a different theme each meal, so that you could get your particular order made just the way you wanted (breakfast burrito, pork chops, steak, etc.). The servers were very efficient and hard working. Lupe, Enemecio, Carlos, Jgnatchos, David, Alberto to name a few of this crew. They were always eager to get whatever you needed.I would highly recommend Melia Cozumel for the cleanliness, service and the welcoming atmosphere.
What can I say about the Melia Cozumel.. Nothing but good stuff. My wife and I just returned from a two week stay there and can be honest and say we were not disappointed. The resort in a whole was clean, everything was very convenient and the staff was second to none. We have travelled quite often to Mexico and the Caribbean, to all classes of all-inclusive resorts and the Melia was one of the best. Here is our low down:Check in/out: Very fast. We arrived a little early so our room was not ready yet, but the staff made sure we could start our vacation by ensuring we could begin enjoying all the facilities (ok the bars and restaurants) right away. Our room was ready in about 30 minutes and our bags were taken right away to our room. Check out was very simple and quick. The Staff really do their best to ensure everything goes smoothly. The Room: We upgraded to the Royal Suites (RM118) which were perfectly located. From our porch to the beach was about 20 feet, 30 more feet and you were in the ocean and a great bar located about 60 feet from our door..very handy. Rooms were large and always kept cleaned. The only down fall and recommendation I could provide the hotel was that maybe have some towel bars installed outside on the porch, there is plenty of room for this. It would be helpful at the end of the day to hang wet towels/bathing suites. Currently there isn’t anything so we left the wet clothes on the outside jacuzzi (yes the Royal suites have big round jacuzzi’s on the porch… nice touch to sit back in the evening to relax and listen to the waves with a drink in hand. The Restaurants: All were good, always something to eat. The A La Carts were nothing over the top. Both the Italian and Mexican are situated so that you are overlooking the ocean during dinner. The buffet always had a good variety from local foods, to North American type foods. Each night was a different theme also. The Bars: Awesome. The bar located right on the beach and closest to our room was great. A special shout out to Luis… This guy knows how to be a bartender…always friendly, service with a smile and always knew what to make as we approached the bar. Even at times he was working the pool area and we didn’t even need to ask, he knew what we drank and would just bring us drinks… that is service that you enjoy when on vacation. Luis, you are the type of person that could show other employees at other resorts what customer service is really all about…. Great job, thanks for everything. Lobby bar was also great, all top shelf alcohol (actually all bars had this), service here was also very prompt and friendly.Pools/Beach: Beach was very nice. Right out front of our room was a little on the rocky side, but walk down about 30 seconds and it was all sand. This is no fault of the resort, that’s a mother nature issus. Pools were always cleaned and there were always plenty of places to relax, no worries about running out early in the morning to place towels. All in All, resort was great and I truly believe it’s all credited to the staff that work there. My only recommendation would be for towel bars as I mentioned above. Would we return, absolutely..
