Our OpinionA gem of a resort with great value. The Playa Azul is a modest little resort. Despite being a little smaller than most of the major resorts around the strip, there is no shortage of quality and luxury. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, and there are a variety of activities to do within and outside of the resort grounds. The food is OK. It is recommended that travelers explore other options with regards to food. Overall, an amazing hotel for its value.
My second time at the hotel. Would not want to stay anywhere else. The stay are so friendly. They remember you from previous visits. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is delicious. The chef will make you an individual egg dish or waffles. The beach bar has the coldest beer and great cocktails. You have to order the guacamole. I will be back soon.
3rd time staying at Playa Azul the staff feel like family and the customer service is exemplary. The facility and outside bar area and beach are perfect. It is really about the staff and how helpful and gracious they treat all the hotel customers. We will be back and consider Playa Azul a must trip every year along with diving with the Blue Dream team.
MY wife and I have been visiting Cozumel for about 20 years. We have stayed most places. We always start our visit with a couple days at Ventanas Al Mar on the back side of the island to chill out and then head over to the main coast. We will always stay here at Playa Azul now. Just the right size, just the right vibe, Just chill enough to make you relaxed and feel HAPPY.I dive with the dive shop there. Averro ( I have idea how to spell his name) is a great dive master and always makes things happen.Well.... What else can I say? Are there any bad thing about Playa Azul....mmmmmm nope cannot think of any. It's all good.We do not do the all inclusive, just get the free breakfast which is always good. But wifey and I were out to dinner tonight and talking it over and we think the food is so good there that next year we may go the all inclusive route though we have always avoided that since we like to try new places. the food is good enough that we feel we can eat there for 2 weeks and never get tired of it. rooms are clean, the whole place is clean.... I usually find something to complain about but cannot think of a thing I would change about the place. Nuff said
This was our fifth year at Playa Azul it was grand. We were with friends and family and spent a lot of time at their beach this time, except of course for when we were golfing. The amazing thing about Playa Azul is the repeat visitors. While golfing we met a couple who had stayed for 16 years straight. Every year we meet so many people who are repeat stayers. That says something about the place. The staff is professional, welcoming and just fantastic. We like seeing the same faces year after year. They know what we like have it for us, before we ask. The restaurant is very good, this year we had many of our meals there although we did not go all inclusive.Highly recommend you find out why so many of us keep coming back.
We read the reviews by others and were convinced to try it. Many previous visitors have been going back for quite a few years and now we know why. The resort feels like your private house! The resort sits right on the beach with beach chairs, palapa umbrellas and a great snorkeling beach. There is a pier that you can use to get in an out of the water easily as well. We walked down the beach a ways and got into the ocean and the current brought us back to the resort. We say lion fish, spotted eagle rays, barracuda, etc. The resort has a beach bar for hanging out, good wifi on the beach and a helpful staff. The rooms were large and the bed very comfortable. After visiting here, we went to Cancun and the crazy crowds and prices. It made us want to cancel our Cancun portion and go back to Playa Azul! While we were at the resort, we took a taxi into downtown (95 pesos) and had wonderful dinners at La Cocay and Kondesa! We would definitely come back if we go to Cozumel again!
