Our OpinionA gem of a resort with great value. The Playa Azul is a modest little resort. Despite being a little smaller than most of the major resorts around the strip, there is no shortage of quality and luxury. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, and there are a variety of activities to do within and outside of the resort grounds. The food is OK. It is recommended that travelers explore other options with regards to food. Overall, an amazing hotel for its value.
Play Azul has the best location on the beach with a view that can not be surpassed, and the hotel gives you a sense of privacy. If you like snorkeling right from the beach, it's your place (peces ángel, trompeta, barracudas, morenas, meros, mantarrayas, etcétera). My grandson and I loved each minute. The staff is excelent, helpful, friendly.Food is excelent and the beach bar is a cozy little thing with the best view and nice bartenders.Wifi was so so.- Con: constant motor boats, pestilent, noisy jet skis for trashy and even dangerous tourists. It is not surprising that so much fauna has disappeared from that part of the sea. That's the thing that upset me.See you next year.
My wife and I had an excellent stay at Playa Azul for 5 nights! It was our first time in Mexico and I searched high and low for a good price/quality match and this was it. I thought I was booking an "all-inclusive" however I later realized it was "golf-inclusive". After calling to find out the price difference to upgrade to an all-inclusive we decided against it and figured we could stay in budget. The hotel is clean, quaint, and situated with excellent beach access/views. Several days were spent in cyclical fashion: lounging in a beach chair, drinking good ritas, and snorkeling. The waiters were nice and the food was great and reasonably priced. We didn't hold back and came in well under budget on this trip! I would most definitely come back to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone going to Cozumel for simplicity and a quiet atmosphere.
Had not been to Cozumel before and Playa Azul did not disappoint! Really friendly service and nice place to stay. Great dive shop and good food at the restaurant. Will definitely go again. Thank you for the nice stay!
Playa Azul was perfect in every way! The beach was clean, snorkeling right off the hotel area, pool was clean and not crowded, the waitstaff was excellent, food was good with excellent breakfast buffet selection daily. The only bad thing was the tiles get very slippery when wet (but there are signs posted everywhere warning you of this!) so our little one slipped and fell several times, but other than that we do not have any negative things to say about this resort (& we've stayed at several on the island). The view from our standard room was breathtaking and the bed was actually very comfortable compared to most Mexican resorts we've stayed at.
From the moment we stepped-foot into this wonderful hotel, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine happiness. There is nothing negative to write about this hotel. The rooms are welcoming and attractive. The location is excellent; away from the cruise ships, and sitting atop a beautiful beach. We also found some of the best snorkeling on the island here. We walked in right in front of the hotel and let the current take us to the next beach where we walked out. There were puffer fish, barricuda, rays, and a mix of brilliantly-colored fish. Everything you need is at the hotel, so there really is no need to go into town. The buffet breakfast was excellent every morning, and offered quite a variety. What stands out at this hotel are the employees. They seem genuinely happy to work here, with the end result being a five-star property. Thank you, Playa Azul! We'll be back! ❤️
