The Sunscape is an amazing hotel that offers great value. The resort offers various different amenities and has amazing and knowledgeable staff. The dive locations around this area is unlike any other. For those looking for a vacation where they spend more days out and about should stay here.
After a long travel day, nothing like being greeted by Juan Carlos at the lobby – WELCOME HOME! Thank you to Carlos & Sandy for the upgrade to Secrets!!We pick this location for the diving and this is the resort that we have chosen the last 7 out of 8 times. Let’s start with the CoCo Café & my morning caramel latte’s prepared by Eugenia, excellentia! The room was perfect … cleaned and supplies replenished daily – both cold beverages along with bathroom essentials, if needed. Our favorite bartender – Rolondo in the Redevous Bar. Service and food in the Oceania Restaurant could not have been better with Armondo. Armondo and Eugenia also kept our drink glasses full on the beach. Between the extra pampering with Juan Carlos & Ramon (concierge) at Secrets there wasn’t anything that we wanted for the whole week.Food wise there is a large variety of good food available – we normally had breakfast at Portofino’s each morning, but we had breakfast one morning in the Window’s Restaurant and it was really good too. Our favorite dinner place was the Oceania Restaurant & David’s service was also at the top of our list. We also enjoyed the dinners on the beach! The bubble party on Thursday afternoon was a nice party too. We will be going back to Cozumel in November and there is no doubt where we will be staying … we are even bringing a few friends with us this next trip too.
Our first time at an all inclusive and very satisfactory. Yes they hit you up right away with trying to sell "discounts" ( a new word for time-share). They sit through breakfast with you and fast become your best friend. Oh well. It's worth it for the $150-$200 leisure cash that you can spend on tours or at their spa. I'd come back to this resort anyway, but the "discount" they offered me was actually much more than what I'd paid for the holiday at a regular price. The bedroom was large and clean. Yes, we had to constantly ask for more water and pop, but they usually filled the mini-fridge quickly. The air conditioning units are new and function well. Management is working hard to repair walls/steps/roofs that have suffered neglect. The beach is beautiful and snorkeling is decent. Loved the fact that you could take a sailboat out for 1/2 hour/day. Snorkeling equipment is 2 hours free. The bar tenders are amazingly quick with the cocktails! Food in the Mexican restaurant is outstanding as are their waiters. One night we felt like having gluten free pizza and even though the Italian restaurant didn't offer it, the chef told us to come back the following night. We did and the pizza was good. All the staff at the buffet Portofino restaurant work so hard and do a great job with offering a good selection. One worry is that the food doesn't seem to be kept hot enough. However, a made to order omelet takes care of that!I did a 2 hour spa with my teenage son. I can't believe how much fun we had! We ran out of the steam bath when it got too hot and screamed at the cold baths. Laughed our heads off when my bathing suit inflated into a huge balloon at the power bubble bath. Luckily it was dinner hour and no once else was there. So no one scolded us to be quiet. The bellboys do an awesome job making sure you don't get ripped off with the taxi fares. We had a couple of taxi drivers who disputed our payment and we would show them the fare board at the hotel. One driver still cursed and kicked his tires. Apparently the fares on that board are the same as what each driver has on a fare sheet in their car. But they pretend to have never seen such a sheet. Just stick to the fare and walk away if they want more.
The front desk staff and porters at Sunscape Sabor are fabulous and were very accommodating with our group! Thank you so much for providing us with an amazing, unforgettable vacation! I can't comment on the rooms because we were upgraded to the Secrets next door. We ate at El Patio one night and again, the service was absolutely amazing! I wish I had written down the name of our waiter because he was excellent and provided us with so much entertainment (and food!) that evening. Our only disappointment at Sunscape was at Portofinos. We waited a long time to be seated (which we didn't mind too much - we were a large group). Once we were seated, the service at our table was fine. However, the service at the rest of our group's table was very poor! They were served some kind of small appetizer? which they hadn't asked for. They then waited and waited for their main course. When one of my friends asked the waiter where their food was, he shrugged, seemed surprised that they didn't have it but didn't appear to be too concerned. Immediately after my friends walked out, their meal arrived. They came back to eat it, only to discover that the food was very cold! Other than that, I would recommend this resort.
At Sunscape Sabor all the staff were extremely helpful ,everything was clean, the food was always great and the location is unbeatable . At the restaurant El Patio one exceptional waiter Luis Ortega made our vacation extra special . Alejandia we want you to know this kind of service is the reason people want to return to your resort.
For the entire two weeks that we spent at Sunscape Sabor, the service staff were very friendly, hard working and attentive. The waiting and clearing staff were efficient. The room was always clean and the housekeeper provided additional water, coffee, towels upon request (leave a note in your room). Bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water; the rooms are a bit dated, but we do not go to the Caribbean to live in our room!Food was very good; we tended to enjoy buffet style breakfasts and lunches, and then eat at the grill or the mexican speciality restaurants in the evening. The meat was so tender and tasty. All meals we excellently waited, with fabric napkins and drinks served to your table. The evening events were well organised, with good attention to detail. We particularly enjoyed the Mexican evening and the fire juggling show. The hotel has the largest beach frontage on Cozumel; plenty of sun loungers, snorkeling, kayaking and sailing provided. We bought a diving package; the boat picks you up from the hotel, and the dive staff provided an excellent valeting service each day (tip the guys separately). Great dives with very knowledgeable dive masters; drift dives across the reef pans and walls, with lots of big and small stuff to see. Great photos!
