The Sunscape is an amazing hotel that offers great value. The resort offers various different amenities and has amazing and knowledgeable staff. The dive locations around this area is unlike any other. For those looking for a vacation where they spend more days out and about should stay here.
Very beautiful hotel and view of the ocean. Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. The rooms can be pretty rough. Our bathroom looked like they never finished construction...asked to be moved and it took two days for another room to open up. The beach is awesome...you can snorkel in three feet of water and see hundreds of fish. The hotel staff I will mention are Arturo in the concierge area and Miguel in the Market Place restaurant...very hospitable. Anthony at the Market Place made a Mayan coffee for my wife and I on Valentines day. Gracias, mi amigo! Would consider staying there again next time to Cozumel, but fix the bathroom (room 3023) please!
Wen here for a girls getaway for 5 days after looking for something affordable and all-inclusive. This fit the bill perfectly. We certainly weren't in the lap of luxury, but it was a very comfortable and relaxing stay here.We booked ours through a third party website, so we got a ridiculously crazy rate of like $704/pp that included roundtrip air, hotel (all -inclusive, so meals, etc) for 5 days and 4 nights. You really can't beat that. All meals and drinks were included, and there are a variety of about 4 different restaurants to choose from, so it is possible to mix up the food choices a bit, which is nice. There are 2 pools, plus it's right on the beach, so plenty of opportunity and places to relax and lounge. The staff is amazingly friendly, the spa was quite nice, they resort offers a list of daily activities that are always capped off with a special "theme" night in the evening for the guests to take part in. They do a very good job at making this as interactive or as solitary of an experience as you want, the choice is yours. Loved the beachside bars, especially the mix of both regular barstools as well as swings for a bit of whimsy and fun. The bartenders are fun and we enjoyed meeting other guests and mingling. They will try to get you to sit with a "concierge" who will offer you a list of optional excursions should you wish to make a reservation for a plethora of cool activities/tours to try. (We did the dune buggy in the rainforest/tequila tasting and the snorkeling activities. Both were great, but I would HIGHLY recommend the snorkeling with this company they used. It was a party boat with complimentary drinks, fun music, plus gorgeous snorkeling in 2 different spots that they anchored at). They will also try to get you to agree to a "tour" of the sister resort next door. They say it's not a timeshare opportunity, but it is. For agreeing to do that, you get a $75 credit towards either a spa treatment or one of the many excursions/tours offered. As it was a mere 60-90 minutes of our time, plus we got to check out the Secrets resort next door (One step higher/adults only) - we decided to do it even if just for the discount. I would not hesitate to stay here again for a very affordable and relaxing vacation.
We were a little disappointed when we arrived and didn't get the rooms we expected. Our garden view room had no patio and opened to a walkway so we had no privacy unless we kept the windows shut. They were unable to offer switching us to a different room. The highlight of our vacation were definitely the entertainment staff Mili and Oscar. They were so friendly and kept us busy with activities. I would go back there to see them again. The rest of the wait staff only seemed to want to serve you if you tipped them. Johnny and Fabian were super friendly and took good care of us. Otherwise it seemed that they were understaffed for servers and bartenders. We often had to wait in line at the bar to get a drink and only twice on the trip did someone come around and take our drink order while we were sitting by the pool or beach. Food was good at the buffet and Mexican restaurant. We really enjoyed getting a couple massage at the spa. The spa was top quality!
We had the best service at this resort from Miquel and Kenny. Kenny waited on us at the Seaside restaurant and Miquel took care of us at the pool. Look them up for great service! We stayed here 2 years ago and we were pleasantly surprised with the improvements that were made since then. Food was a big plus this time. Not a lot of choices but what they had was good.
