We booked in this resort for one week with two young children aged of 3 and 1 years old. We are a French-Mexican family living in France. Firstly we got into our room with two double beds quite small but looking nice, then when we viewed the bathroom, it was just disgusting, stinks and moldy. We spent one night in this room but we could not afford the smell of the old awful bath where the drain was not evacuating the water, the bath was getting full of dirty stinking water coming down from the drain. We asked the front desk to change room. We've viewed 3 similar rooms all having the same issue. How could we shower our little ones in such non hygienic conditions???The duty manager finally upgraded us to a junior suite. This was the worst where the bath tub was broken and we realized it when we stepped in. Mold and rotten wood were coming inside the tub. Just horrible! How dare a high standard hotel can offer such a room to their guests. At 10:00pm on second night, we asked to move to a descent room with immediate effect. After two views we ended up in an other junior suite with sea view (very nice) with a shower only without tub, which was absolutely much better and clean except we stayed 3 days without hot water, for the little girls it was a bit challenging. There was a security failure in their room locking system. We had to return to reception a few times per day to activate the key. When finally maintenance came to repair after a few days, it was missing a battery in the lock. Very poor maintenance. Our room was located opposite to front desk.Staff was very rude and unpleasant with Mexican customers, most probably because they don't tip enough! House keeping services was appalling. Sandy beach quite dirty with plastics stuff, surely not the best in Cozumel. In another way, The Patio Mexican restaurant was from far the best ever in this resort, delicious dishes, very fast and efficient service, very professional and friendly waiters. The others 2 restaurants were so so.Front desk staff looking not interested in guests satisfaction.Sea activities desk staff (kayak and para sliding sports) on beach, just careless and bad customer services. Over staffed doing nothing! The entertainment team was pretty good as well as the staff from the kids playground called Club Explorers. Overall we do not recommend this resort at all.
I am a fan of Fishermens but we had to change rooms due to a city power outage. Our second room had poor internet so my previous remark about the internet being much better isn't accurate across the entire complex. Also, if you like TV, which I know a lot don't, the channels are nearly all in Spanish. More English channels would have been great.
Stayed 7 nights in Aug 2017. I like to stay to the south near the dive sites and have stayed at a couple other resorts in the area.Rooms - had Suite with double beds, very nice size rooms, nicely decorated, nice bath. Looks like building has been updated fairly recently. Layout of the resort means you are never far walk from the beach. A/C worked great, probably best and quietest we have had. Shower worked good and hot water took a minute, but got job done. Grounds - Very nice landscaping and updated walkways in north end of property. Little too much barren concrete at the lobby/main pool area for my taste. Not quite as pretty as some others. Still some construction underway on far north end near couple (currently closed) restaurants.Beach - lots of nice sand, plenty of loungers, pretty good amount of shade with trees and palapas. Kinda rocky when go out into water but you can use shoes. Activities - they put a lot of effort into activities, beach and pool gems, kids club, and something fun almost every night by main pool. Really fun atmosphere for kids and young adults. If looking for peace and quiet can still find a spot.Food/drink - Covered all the bases but nothing that really made us say Wow. Only 3 restaurants open, plus the frequent open air dinner buffets so had to re-run a little, Convenient bars across the property but no swim up.Pools - fun active main pool near lobby, bar, and couple restaurants. Also another pool thats a little quieter Of course the Sabor has their share of hilarious mis-adventures common to any Caribbean vacation, (Unexpected short water outage just when you really want to take a shower - HA!), but don't let that ruin your groove. In general good solid resort. But personal preference would probably go back to one of the others.
My sister had her wedding ceremony at the resort and everything was absolutely perfect! The resort is gorgeous, plush and sits right on the crystal clear blue water. Above all, the service we received was outstanding. Every single person that we encountered was very friendly. Our wedding planner had everything in order when we arrived from food in the bridesmaids and groomsmen's room to the minister being perfectly prepared for the ceremony. The event went off without a hitch! The food and drinks at the wedding reception were divine and the DJ was great! I would strongly recommend this resort for a wedding or simply a vacation stay as many of our family stayed at the resort for the weekend.
Upon arrival the bell hop was very nice and they greeted us with cold juice while we checked in. We were presented with bogus "coupons" to use on their massages which were outrageously priced. The entrance to the resort is very misleading. The food is sub par and not much variety. Do not order a hamburger at El Patio. I doubt its beef. The wait staff seems unhappy and annoyed (with the exception of a few). Our A/C broke and was never fixed the whole time. Our sons room had water leaking from their A/C and soaked their suitcase full of clothes. There was a steady stream of ants along our bathroom mirror and on our coffee station counter. Dirty dishes were rarely taken away and I never got fresh coffee mugs. I might go again for the clear water and pretty fish...if it was free.
