The Barcelo Huatulco staff are excellent! From the front desk to the room service, guests are treated very well. Most of the rooms are ocean view and very large. The beach area in front of the Barcelo is beautiful and clean with not a lot of harassing beach vendors. The dinner buffet could use a bit of improvement but is definitely not bad for an all inclusive resort. Not a lively resort, but the bars in town are only a short $3 cab ride away. Barcelo Huatulco is a great resort for rest and relaxation.
We are leaving today and very sad about it. Barcelo was amazing with amazing weather. No clouds or rain just pure sun! Had the best service from Benjamin Lopez by the pool with prompt service and smiles all the time as well as from Carlos velasco the life guard in the kids pool. He played with our kids the whole trip. Super great guy! Thank you Barelo can't wait till next year.
We enjoyed our stay at Barcelo. Meals at the buffet were all good as were the a la cart restuarants. We really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant, and the Italian restaurant. The only suggestion we would offer is to serve water in the small water bottles instead of in glasses as there seemed to be some digestive upset amongst the guests.
We had an excellent vacation at Barcelo! We cannot say anything negative about this resort. We were there for 2 wks. Everything & everyone is very accommodating. We were there for downtime & we got exactly what we wanted. For those who want a more active vacation - the Barcelo was a good choice for those people too. Lots of food choices - we enjoyed all of our meals of course the fresh fruit & vegetables are so delicious. We didn't hear any complaints from anyone else either. The pool is great - lots of places to sit & get different views from. We mostly were on the beach - soft sand & you usually could find a shady place to sit. It is hot! You can walk the beach as well. The vendors come by every few minutes selling their goods but if you are not interested - they were not pushy at all. We are in their country after all & this is how they make their living. I preferred shopping from my beach chair than in town.We cannot say enough about the staff everyone from the grounds staff to management - everyone will help you if you need it and if they can't they find someone who can immediately. Those who we would like to mention (although we cannot remember everyone's names) Francisco, Miguel, Celisio, Itzel, who greeted & served us almost every morning for breakfast at La Tortuga Snack; Norma our host for the Italian al la carte; Anasticio & another young fellow we think his name was Louis who served us breakfast at the buffet. Kimberly our host one evening at the buffet - who is the most fun and cutest little thing ever! We truly enjoyed her enthusiasm. Karina who served us one evening at the buffet. Roberto and sorry how this is going to sound the other big fellow at the lobby bar - they were very very busy however very professional yet fun and friendly as well. Bibiana who worked as a server in the lobby bar - we had a laugh with too. Noel our room keeper/cleaner - did a wonderful job; along with the young man who stocked our fridge everyday. Tomas who brought us room service on a couple of evenings. And finally Claudia and the fellow who served us in the Premium lounge - they always helped us with our questions, setting up our cell phones for wi-fi, setting us up on the computer. We are sorry for any staff we may have missed. You can be proud of all of your staff Barcelo Huatulco - they are all friendly - it did not matter who we talked to.We can't say enough - it was the vacation we wanted & what we got. THANK-YOU!
We went to Barcello in Huatulco for the first time this year. We have been to a lot of areas of Mexico in the past. This resort was one of our favourites so far. We prefer small resorts but like things available to do near. This resort delivered. We also like to sit under palapas on the beach. We found getting chairs we had to get up early and put towels out. They could use more chairs and palapas on beach. Rooms are nice with nice size balconies. Staff is very friendly and helpful seem to enjoy their jobs. This resort is close to airport so you don't have long commute to and from resort. Huatulco is a nice place to tour and our taxi driver was very helpful and spoke very good English Brunno was his name. The food was good we always had a good meal. The al carte meals were very well done staff and environment and food. I would recommend this resort. Wifi is not the best but when I am on holidays this is not important to me. You could always get good wifi in lobby or across street at coffee shop for free if you purchased a coffee. We only stayed a week but wished we could have booked longer. The beach and snorkelling at the bay's near is very beautiful Tony and his son and crew were very helpful with that experience for us. We came away with a positive experience. Thank-you Barcello Huatulco!!!
We just returned from week. We arrived on 02/10/17 and left on 02/10/17. Check-in was good and we didn't have to wait long to get into our room. We stayed in room 316. We overlooked the the pool and we could view the ocean. If you can get a room on the 4th floor or up, the view would be better. Not complaining. The room was very comfortable and the frig was stocked daily. They had beer, soda, water, chips, and peanuts. The beer of choice at this resort is Corona and Modelo. If you are a preferred customer you get the canned beer down at the pool. If not, you get the draft. They provide both Corona Extra and Corona Light in the refrig in the room. A big walk-in shower and lighted make-up mirror was nice in the bathroom. We had a nice balcony to relax in the morning and evenings. There was a little room noise some evenings but it didn't last to long.Wi-fi - You have to pay for it. I paid $32.00 for 6 days. You get two password cards and I only needed one so I was able to find someone to purchase the other one so it saved us both some cash. The food was good and they had several different evening themes. There is no cooking or eating around the pool. We usually enjoy a hamburger cooked sometimes at lunch. The noon lunch would cook you burgers etc but you had to stand in line and wait. There is nothing cooked on the beach or poolside at lunch. The beach is hard to walk on and not big at all. The sand is course and hot. The view is very pretty.I felt very safe here. I ran outside of the resort most mornings and everyone is friendly. I didn't think the activities were very good. I wasn't sure when they were going on as we usually get a sheet of the times or they have a board posted in the lobby. I did not see anything. We took a cab ride in to LaCrucita for some essentials. We made three stops and the cab driver waited for us. He charged us $10.00 roundtrip. We took the tour "Three Levels of Huatulco" It cost $110 for both of us. The tour was supposed to last from 9:00 to 2:00 but we didn't return until 4:00. It was a great tour but our tour guide was too long winded. It was supposed to have plenty of beer and water but that was one per person. The last stop is at a little restaurant where you buy local food. I'm not sure if I would return to Huatulco.
