The Barcelo Huatulco staff are excellent! From the front desk to the room service, guests are treated very well. Most of the rooms are ocean view and very large. The beach area in front of the Barcelo is beautiful and clean with not a lot of harassing beach vendors. The dinner buffet could use a bit of improvement but is definitely not bad for an all inclusive resort. Not a lively resort, but the bars in town are only a short $3 cab ride away. Barcelo Huatulco is a great resort for rest and relaxation.
Hello to everyone!!! My name is Anthony and I am not a guest but I am a Native here in Huatulco. I just want to recommend Miguel Hernandez. His a excellent guy in the gym and his the best in giving you advice in how to do work outs. His the main reason why my dad and I go to the gym. Unlike the others that just look at you and doesn't help you nor do they assist you in your work out. They just help you with the basic stuff like towel change and greeting. Thank you Miguel and Believe me when I tell you that his the face of Barcelo gym and the example of HELPING, CARING and actually doing more then being on the phone like the rest.
The hotel is very comfortable and clean, you have all kind of activities to have a great time, such as sports, gaming, pools, tours, etc. The bufet is delicious, my favorite restaurant "El mexicano" absolutely translates the Oaxacan taste. The pool-bar service is really good, the bar tender Venancio loves his work and made our time very confortable and fun. You have to try the oaxacan beverage "mezcal" offered in the restaurant, the brand I recommend "la reliquia añejo".The only things they have to improve is the check in and check out time, it is very slow. Also in the bathroom, the shampoo is not good as well as the soap. All the people is very kind and of course I fully recommend to spend a week at Barcelo Huatulco.
This is a great place for relaxing and having a wonderful time. All the staff here are nice and always greet when you walk past them. The food was moderate, not really the top cuisine but thats what the other restaurants are there for (tortuga, don quijote and agave). The pools are nice and clean, although i did think the adult pool was a little on the warmer side than refreshing. The lobby is always a nice place to listen to music and have a couple drinks, the waitress at the lobby named "Mayren Cabrera" was extremely nice and so fun to talk to, we would always look for her when we were at the lobby having a drink. The rooms were very well renovated and very comfortable. My downsides on this resort would be the buffet food (needs better quality food) and the WIFI!!!!!! horrible reception everywhere in the hotel and so expensive to pay for. WIFI wont work in the rooms so please be advised. THEY NEED TO FIX THIS ISSUE. ITS THE THE GOLDEN AGE OF TECHNOLOGY AND THEY NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT SO MANY PEOPLE NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO A NETWORK. ITS RIDICULOUS HOW THERES NOT EVEN FREE WIFI AT THE LOBBY. But if that doesnt bother you, you will have an amazing time here. Thanks to everyone who made us feel at home, from Luis at the breakfast buffet outside to Mayren at the lobby. Will be back!
Some things like the specialty restaurants and staff were excellent but unfortunately other things like waiting to check in and the room they gave us over the Disco were poor. After 2 nights they did change our room but they should never put anyone who may want to sleep between 10PM and 2AM in rooms 312 or 314 (an possibly others). And changing rooms is always a pain. The hotel had a lot of screaming infants and children which we found very disturbing. After eating in the main buffet on the night we arrived, we made reservations for the specialty restaurants every other night... and had screaming children there also. I also did not like the 2 class system where,m for an extra $35 pp/pn you can get a nicer room and premium liquor. Each wing had 2 elevators, one on each wing was not working. The food was excellent and different from Mexican food we have had at other resorts in Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. The lunch buffet included grilled to order fish, chicken, pork and beef which was also excellent. Service was excellent in the specialty restaurants but fair to good in the buffets. Special thanks to Mayren, the cocktail waitress in the Lobby bar.
We spent another 2 fabulous weeks at the Barcelo Huatulco in March! This was our 4th visit!! We've fallen in love with this place & the people who work there. From the moment we first entered, we were treated royally. Checking in was a breeze. The whole staff is amazing at the Barcelo! We have not met one unfriendly person, but have certainly made friends with a few! Luis & Jorge in the dining area, Mayren in the lobby bar, Fernando at the pool bar.....just to name a few. Everyone is very helpful! The food is amazing!!! The selections are out of this world! And presented so beautifully!! The cocktails and beer are always cold & not watered down! And they can make any drink you want!! The pools are super clean & well maintained. They are constantly cleaning & doing work! The beach is awesome!! I'm not a swimmer, but enjoyed walking it every day. Lots of different & amazing tours to do. This time we did the turtle release! Awesome!! I suggest everyone to try it!! You won't be disappointed!! Great for kids!!!! The rooms are super clean & the cleaning staff work hard! Our mini bar was well stocked with beer, water, mineral water, pop, juice, chips & peanuts!! There is entertainment every night & the shows are spectacular! There is a night club for the young people ( & the young at heart!). I cannot say enough about the Barcelo Huatulco!! Love it!! Looking forward to our next visit!!! And we flew Sunwing & were treated magnificently!! 😎❤️👍
