The Binniguenda is a fantastic resort for travelers on a budget. The entire resort is immaculate and is constantly being maintained by the staff. There is plenty of space amongst the poolside deck, and the bars nearby are always staffed with personable and attentive bartenders. There are plenty of buffet items to choose from. The resort location is further from the beach. However, it is only a few minutes away via shuttle. A variety of shows are held daily. An amazing resort for those looking to get the best bang for their buck.
Stayed at Binny's in January , 2016, it is a nice , clean resort, food was good, quiet location. We tried to get a ground floor , as my partner has problem with climbing stairs, but the only ones available were for an extra charge, which we were not expecting. I would get the same room again, it really makes it handy to everything. The room was close to the dining room , there are about 6 of these rooms which have a table and 2 chairs on the balcony. I would recomend this resort to anyone.
Our room had 2 double beds, was well air conditioned and clean. Water temperature was terrible, never have I had so many cold showers, but my hair looked terrific. We didn't spend time in our room but to sleep. The beds were very hard, so if you like that kind of thing, you're in luck. Pros: The staff - Julian is a genius, he remembers your likes and dislikes. He is a professional through and through. My husband and I still talk about his specialty drinks. (He works in the lobby bar.) The lovely lady who makes the omelettes every morning was patient and tried to teach us both how to say the ingredients in Spanish. (by the end of our 2 week stay, we could order drinks, pizza and omelettes thanks in part to her.) I would go back there specifically to see these lovely people again. The pool is lovely and clean. The lobby bar had retro videos playing every night, as a child of the 80's it was great to listen to and watch. Cons: Hours of the lobby bar are kinda crappy. Closing at 11PM, typically wasn't a problem for us, because we were beat by 9, but the last few nights when we were chilling with friends we had met while on vacation it was a bit of a downer to cut the party short. (Mind you we could have easily bought a few bottles of whatever and taken it to one of our rooms...) The food was typical buffet fare, and themed every night, but there was a FABULOUS wood stove pizza place with a patio, and liquor license less than 10 minutes walking distance. A further con would be some of the fellow travelers. A warm suggestion is to leave your biases, insecurities and bigoted comments to yourself. The staff that serve you work hard for your vacation, they certainly don't need you to tell them that they are moving too slow to bring you your coffee (when it is self serve coffee and you just needed to get off your chair and get it yourself.) Or that your server "must not be feeling well" because they were moving quick enough to take your liquor order.I would totally go again, despite the cons, we met some great people and all in all had a terrific.
I truly enjoyed the hotel, especially all of the gracious staff. The specialty restaurant open on Friday and Saturday offered excellent Italian cuisine. Exec Chief Ansony Garcia Hampshire and the hostess and wait staff, Raul.and Freddy served elegant, delicious dinners. As a solo traveler I appreciate respectful and attentive service. Also I don't want to forget the sweet morning omelette chief who works so quickly and is always smiling.I am an American who has traveled all over the world and this experience in the Binniguenda, Huatulco has been a welcome change from the glitzy American style all inclusive resorts. Don't hesitate to bring your family here for a warm cultural experience.
My wife and I stayed at the Binniguenda in mid-February and had a really great vacation. The upsides for me were the smallness of the Binniguenda, good breakfasts and lunches, its proximity to town, the overall tidiness of the resort and the friendly staff. The downsides for me were the dinnertime meals. They weren't as good as those we had experienced at most other places we have stayed. Many vacationers at the resort ended up grabbing cabs and finding dinner in town. The a la carte meal was just okay. The only other negative was the room. It was located on the main floor between the lobby bar and the buffet. It could us an update, but this is being pointed out more in passing and did not impact us. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The decor, well....As others have pointed out, the resort is not on the ocean but the beach used by the resort is a short walk away. We went once to check it out but did not enjoy the cramped surroundings. Others may not mind this, just not our thing. Most of the staff were quite helpful when called upon, especially front desk staff and Julien at the Lobby bar. Staff at the pool/snack bar did their jobs well but certainly were not as friendly as other staff at the resort. The negative media reports about the country concerned my bride. I made the reservations to this Huatulco resort without first letting her know because she would never have wanted to go. She will be the first to admit that this is a great destination and would go back. She had no concerns whatsoever concerning safety or illness. The night we arrived we walked to a rodeo that was nearby. We stayed out until approximately 2am. No issues with safety. We walked everywhere, whether it was to and from La Crucecita using the pedestrian walkway, the harbour or the grocery store. Added bonus: no bugs during our visit! We hope to return in November.
Well, not much I can say. Everybody has said it in previous reviews. Beautiful, well kept and maintained. Great food and staff. Relaxing and laid back. All in all it was a vacation hard to beat! The town(s) are immaculate. Hard to find trash anywhere unlike other areas in the Caribbean. Very, very progressive. Went out to dinner a lot and the meals were great. My fav was the little pizza place down from the hotel, beside the pottery shop. Fantastic, in my opinion, much, better than La Crema. Give it a try. The pottery place is great too.Do try Le Entrega and Maguey beaches near by. Food was great as were the beaches. Not many people.Anyhow, this area will go down as the 1st or 2nd choices to return to. Do give the Binniguenda a shot. You will not be disappointed.Gustavo, keep up the good work sir.
