The Binniguenda is a fantastic resort for travelers on a budget. The entire resort is immaculate and is constantly being maintained by the staff. There is plenty of space amongst the poolside deck, and the bars nearby are always staffed with personable and attentive bartenders. There are plenty of buffet items to choose from. The resort location is further from the beach. However, it is only a few minutes away via shuttle. A variety of shows are held daily. An amazing resort for those looking to get the best bang for their buck.
We stayed here for a week and were much happier with this place than the 5 star resort we stayed at previously. This hotel is quite small..less than 80 rooms so it has a very comfortable feel. The rooms are fine, not spectacular but clean, updated, and well maintained. The only complaint I had was that there was no fridge in the room. I know that the select rooms have fridges but don't feel that in this day and age a fridge, even in the standard rooms, is too much to ask for.The pool area and hotel property is small but beautiful. Well maintained and lush. There is a shuttle to the beach but we never used it. It's less than a 10mminute walk away. There is an area at the beach reserved for the hotel guests with lounges, umbrellas and a small beach snack bar. The beach is small but nice. Because it's in a bay the water was never too rough to go in for a swim. The food is okay, not spectacular. But this hotel is close to restaurants and shops, so with the money you save by staying here you can go out to eat if you want. The staff, without fail, are super. Always friendly, helpful and efficient. Everything is super clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who is tired of the mega resort vibe. The guests here seemed to be a nice mix of mostly Mexicans and Canadians.
Stayed 2 weeks over the Xmas break at this small hotel. First time to Huatulco, and loved the amazing weather and the ability to walk to town and beaches as opposed to being stuck on a big resort.Small town and very laid back, we were grateful to just relax. Been to everything from 3 - 5 star in Mexico, and would say this hotel is a good, clean budget resort for those looking for a real Mexican experience. If you like the big party resorts, you will hate this place.Food was ok, never went hungry but wished for more Mexican treats like salsa, guacamole, fajitas, etc. Good thing is that the prices are low, even with all-inclusive, so can afford to check out the many restaurants or taco trucks in town.We liked the low-key vibe of this resort, and all the staff are great.Biggest complaint was the music at the pool - can get loud, especially when playing the same songs over and over all day. Not very conducive to relaxing, but they would turn it down a bit if enough people complained. Advice to management: look at your clientele and base your entertainment/music on that - most people I saw were older or families with young kids who come here to relax and have family time, not to party. Xmas and New Years meals were good, and entertainment well done. But New Years was ridiculously loud - we couldn’t talk to people at our table even when shouting, it was too loud. Too bad, because most nights we really enjoyed meals and meeting people. Due to the small size of the resort, and small contingent of Canadians, we made a lot of new friends over meals - something that rarely happens at big resorts. That is one of the biggest appeals of this place, small in size so you start to really feel at home.Beach area at Santa Cruz is nice, easy swimming and no problems getting a seat/shade. Beach club food is pretty lacking though: hot dogs or hamburgers usually, so as a vegetarian I ended up buying lunch elsewhere. Also, stay away from beach/town when a cruise ship comes in - too many tourists descend and all the prices in town go up dramatically. Another plus of this resort - the drinks. Everything was fresh, as opposed to sickly sweet syrup found in mixed drinks at other resorts. Even had pretty good wine, a rarity at other resorts we’ve been to.Overall we liked it and would return if back in Huatulco. Not a five star, but a good deal for a safe, clean and friendly hotel.
I've stayed in different all inclusive in several beaches in Mexico and let me tell you this has been the best !The selection of food is different with every meal, everything is delicious! Every single worker is amazing! I can't remember all the names, but my family and I were treated amazingly for every single member of the staff, they always smile, talk to you and are willing to help you: people at the bars, waitress, the dancers and singers, everyone. Speaking of it, they have a show every night , they are very talented and entertaining.I'm very picky I'd say, I give them 5 stars and my only small complaint is that the fan in the washroom was not working and there was a smell of humidity because of it. Also, the toilet is clean but it could be better, it could shine with a little more effort. Other than that, everything is perfect! We would definitely come back. I'm from Mexico and I live in Canada and I met a lot of Canadians there ! Staff speaks English which I know is very important for foreigners :)Thank you Binniguenda and congratulations to the owners and managers, their staff is the best! I hope their salaries are good, otherwise they totally deserve a raise :D
This certainly is a little gem of a resort and it could be a lot better. My husband and I just got back from Binniguenda. The hotel is very clean, staff are very friendly and polite. However, the one thing that put me off were the children that were allowed to go into the pool with their diapers on. This absolutely disqusted me and I did complain to the front desk and the concierge four times. I was assured that something would be done about it, but it was not. Parents were changing their children's diapers right at the pool side. For the naysayers amongst you, I suggest you read the opinion of the "Centers for Disease Control and Prevention." All swim diapers do is keep poop from floating in the pool water they do not stop contamination of any kind! How would it be if adults were allowed the same privilege? One thing that could shut this place down would be an e-coli, etc. problem, but alas no one was very concerned. There were also a lot of children running around the pool area with no regard for anyone and parents and staff were unconcerned once more for safety. A childrens pool would be a huge benefit to this resort or better yet make it adults only. The music they play at poolside is unbearably loud and often obscene.
The Binniguenda Exceeds Expecations and Staff consistently go above and beyond with a sincere, genuine smile. The cleaning staff work day and night to ensure immaculate results are achieved. The food is very good and there is always a nice selection and variety to chose from.Hats cff to Chef Ansony for delivering 100% quality, and variety. We also Loved the Ala-Carte Restaurant which had 3 different themes to enjoy. Italian was our favourite, and the Spanish was very good as well. We stayed in a Select Room and thoroughly enjoyed the location and accommodations. We especially enjoyed the coffee and pastries delivered to our patio each morning. The staff at the Binniguenda are Exceptional. They go out of their way to please and Excel at Customer Service. Just to name a few, Sylvia, the front desk manager went above and beyond. My husband was a little under the weather and I consulted with her to get some helpful advice. She quickly responded with suggestions of remedies. She also went out of her way to ask Chef Ansony make a special tea for my husband, as he was dealing with some stomach issues. Chef Ansony also promptly delivered a thermus of his speciality tea with genuine care and concern. A heartfelt thank you to Sylvia and Ansony for going above and beyond to help my husband. Other amazing staff I'd like to mention are Julian and Jonatan who make delicious drinks on a daily basis. Also, don't forget to ask Julian for the Julian Special. Other Superb Staff are Ruth, Ana, Bernadita, And gentlemen waiter, Manny in the Ala-Carte Restaurant as well as 2 other gentlemen waiters in the buffet , (Sorry cannot think of their names), were all exceptional who delivered prompt, efficient service with a smile. Also, a big thank you to the young lady who works in the buffet and ocasionally at the snack bar was very efficient and always exceeded expectations, (Sorry cannot recall her name but has dark beautiful eyes With long eyelashes). Hoping the Director knows who I am referring to. Her name may have started with a T..? All of the staff I have mentioned work extremely hard and take pride in doing so. They should all be rewarded accordingly. A huge compliment to Front desk staff Jasibe, Maria & Kayla another front desk staff member, who I cannot recall her name at present was always polite, courteous, friendly , helpful and knowledgeable and she also showed us the Junior Suite before we left. Also, the best entertainment staff we've encountered yet!
