The design of this hotel is lovely and had a tranquil personality. I was using it as base for the area, and in that respect was well placed for drivers. The nearby beaches are beautiful, though not served by cafes and bars (as in Huatulco). There are a couple of hotels on the nearby beach, and I sat and had a drink there, but realised it was a transgression after I spotted everyone else was wearing wristbands...I was an interloper! As I said, the nearby beaches are lovely, but really feel owned by the big hotels there. The beach at Huaculto is walking distance at about 1.2Km, but you can't walk along the beach, so it's by road. Crucecita is near, but really a taxi or car drive.Everything was nice enough, but it did feel a little run down when I was there. I had to ask for towels, and the shower was OK, but not hot.I arrived in the early hours of the morning, and even though I had emailed this information at the time of booking, I had worrying 30 minutes upon arrival and was almost resigned to sleeping in the car - I didn't have to in the end.I can't really fault my stay here as it ticked all my boxes, it's just that I didn't really enjoy staying in it. WiFi was good and fast in my room.Check-in was worrisome. I had emailed about my late arrival when making the booking, but it took some time to raise reception. The guy didn't seem to want to let me in when I finally got his attention, but at least I didn't have to sleep in that car. The room wasn't ready with towels.
I LOVE this hotel! The rooms were clean, simple, and very well-designed. The A/C worked great and the hot water was lovely. I never got a chance to hang out in the pool, what a bummer! It always looked delightful, though. Breakfast was consistently delicious. It's a quiet neighborhood, too.You can walk 4 minutes to a close beach, although a 10 minutes drive away there is some of the best snorkeling around. The owners are just gems of people, Blanca and Roberto. They run a non-profit to help sterilize local street dogs--their hearts are just enormous. I only mention this because other people seemed put off by the dogs--they own 2 dogs on site that live on the top floor, but they only bark when Roberto comes home and only briefly. They're not dogs that bark incessantly at the wind or anything. I highly, highly recommend staying here! And defffffinitely hit up the sushi restaurant right across the main street and a few blocks to the north--Wow! They even have chapuline sushi rolls!! ;)
Sorry guys, we liked the location alright, the room was clean and simple, but the onsite dogs barking at any given time, made it impossible to properly rest and sleep during our two nights here. Also no hot water in the shower, did not help forget the poor sleep quality night! On the positive side, the internet in the room is very good.
In previous reviews I read how great the owners are. I liked that very much and made a booking based on that. Unfortunately I did not meet or see the owners which was ok.The only thing I noticed, as mentioned before, were the owners dogs, which were barking at any given time and it was very annoying. Not even the AC was muffling that noise.I just can't understand why there is a need to have dogs in a hospitality business when you want to make clients feel welcome. Staff does not speak english which is ok too, which did give me the challenge to practice my spanish. The accommodation was more than reasonably priced for a very clean place and was in a 15 min. walk to the centre of Crucecita or a 5 min. cab ride for 25 pesos. If it would not have been for the dogs it would have been a AAA experience. The two days I was there the pool always had a makeshift gate up and there were no places to relax and sit down either. Internet was absolutely great in the room.
Very nice, no frills, and quaint budget hotel. Stayed in a a/c room with two beds. Room also had a ceiling fan as well. Beach access within a one minute walk; however, the beach is not suitable for swimming, it is more for sun bathing. About a 15 minute walk to "La Crucecita" area where there a numerous restaurants. Felt safe walking in the evening time. The owners (Roberto & Blanca) are huge animal lovers and extremely hospitable!
