Great place. Loved it.Very clean and comfortable. The rooms are large, with a table and coffee machine. Wi-fi coverage in the rooms is spotty (we tried three different rooms), but there is always some place within the room with coverage. The restaurant is awesome! It does not have many options, but everything we tried was delicious. This hotel is missing only access to the beach. But they have an agreement with the "La playa" restaurant in Santa Cruz beach, within walking distance, which is also very good and enjoyable. In summary, my family and I loved it and will be glad to return.
Overall, I think this hotel is a bit over-rated based on the reviews here but I would still stay here again but with lowered expectations. The staff are top notch and very sweet. Always willing to help. The restaurant food was fantastic, especially their Italian which had a very authentic taste. The rooms were charming but very run down. The beds were clean and room service was consistently great. I really didn't appreciate the big gaps around the balcony doors as it just meant you never knew would kinds of critters would crawl in, and we did have those really tiny ants which will find their way in to anything that contains open food. The pool was very unsatisfactory because of one thing: the bird droppings. Despite the hotels attempts to keep the birds away, it didn't stop the resident birds from doing dives towards the pool, dropping their poop perfectly in to the pool (yes, it was defintely intentional), and flying away. It was only one species that was doing all the damage. So this would go on all day, once every 10-15 min, and before you know it the pool is full of it. The pool caretakers cleaned the pool once a day but it didn't help. I found that it was a potential health issue. The location is fantastic! The nearby supermarket was a saviour. There were a few beaches nearby that were fantastic, especially the one in front of the beach club in Santa Cruz. The beach club, located in Santa Cruz, is basically a restaurant right by the beach which gives you privileges to use there chairs. The restaurant was FANTASTIC! Good quality, service, and pricing. The staff there were very attentive. The front desk staff were very professional. Finally, we had great weather overall. Don't be fooled by the weather forecast as it said we would be faced with rain and thunderstorms nearly every day but that just wasn't the case.
Great little hotel, very good location, great staff, breakfast was always excellent, the "Suspiros Oaxaqueños" were to die for, the courtyard and pool area are very charming, the pool temperature was perfect. Highly recommend hotel if you are planning on doing day trips or planning to explore the area.
I had to stay in Hualtulco for an extra day so I used the opportunity to check out the Villa Blanca. Just beautiful, quiet, well situated and friendly. I didn't use any beach facilities so I can't speak to them, but the hotel itself is a gem.
My wife and I discovered this hotel quite by accident a couple of years ago when taking advantage of an airfare sale to Mexico. We read the reviews, and having only briefly visited Huatulco while on a cruise, decided to venture into unfamiliar territory. It was indeed a happy surprise and we returned a second time in December 2016. The staff are very friendly, and if you speak a modicum of Spanish they will go above and beyond to assist you with whatever you require. The location is pretty much ideal, being almost next door to the Super Chedraui hypermarket and within easy walking distance of town and beach areas. Do take advantage of the optional breakfast, as it is quite varied, filling and flavourful. It is well worth the extra surcharge, as it can sustain you for quite some time. The onsite restaurant offers frequent special events and/or menus that also represent good value. The rooms are simple, but clean. If you opt for the loft type suite, be aware that you must descend a wooden staircase to use the bathroom once you are in bed. If you must use the facilities during the darkness of night, it can be a bit tricky. The poolside rooms are smaller, but with a small terrace and outdoor table and chairs, they are the most practical. The pool is always clean, the water refreshing, and new loungers and umbrellas were furnished during our last trip. Huatulco is a haven for Canadian snowbirds, of which I am one, and most are gregarious and friendly.
