- What's Included
My wife and I just got back from a week at Hotel Irma in Zihua. It was our first time in Zihua as we have spent the last few years in Puerto Vallarta for vacay. What a contrast. Zihua is so laid back and less busy. We loved the hotel. A small hotel which we were told is one of the oldest, if not, the oldest hotels in Zihuatenejo. It is so clean and quite. Most of the people at the hotel were our age, (older.) The view from the infinity pool is amazing of the bay and the town. It is so clean we didn't see any kind of insects, not even mosquitos there. The food was delicious and two Happy Hours a day. This was our first time not doing an all-inclusive and the food and drinks were very reasonable. Isaac and JP were great servers in the restaurant. One downfall is the location of the hotel as far as getting to it. It's OK to walk downhill to the town but the walk back, especially in the heat is a real challenge. The cabs are so cheap we cabbed it back to the hotel rather than walk the hill. We're not in as good shape as we used to. The town is a great place to shop. There seems to be a restaurant or bar every 20 feet. All are very inexpensive. Highly recommend this place and we will be back although we would like an oceanview room that we requested but didn't get. That was the only disappointment.
We are enjoying our stay at Irma. One of the kindest and hardest working people has to be our amigo Omar. This man runs around all day with a million dollar smile! It has sure added to our wonderful experience here, just needed to let you know what a treasure you are Omar!!!
We were pleasantly suprised with our stay here. The hotel was clean and the staff were amazing (Particularly Issac Newton and Maria). Make sure you get the breakfast. The menu has tons of choices and everything was delicious. The rooms were clean and quiet. The front desk staff were very helpful as well.
We stayed at Hotel Irma the end of January for 10 days. It was great ! Our room was clean. Everyone was very helpful. The service was great. The location is perfect for going to LaRopa and walking downtown or to the marina. We always felt very safe. The food at the restaurant was good and we also went out to other restaurants. We took the water taxi to Las Gasta twice and that was very nice. We had been at Hotel Irma 18 years ago and I hope we go back again before waiting that long.
Hotel Irma is on a hillside above Playa la Madera, with a wide view of the beach and bay. It's an easy, scenic walk into town. Our room was very comfortable--had a little trouble with A/C but figured it out. I notice one review says they were unhappy with the room--I didn't see others, but talked to several guests and all seemed fine with what they had. The place is well run and has character with modern amenities such as a great shower and good beds. Some construction noise next door, but I'm checking "Quiet" as it should be temporary. Breakfast, included in room price, was excellent and any choice from the menu. The staff was top quality--they went beyond the call of duty to help us with issues unrelated to the hotel, made phone calls, gave advice etc. Waiters too were friendly and warm. Massages were fantastic. Couldn't ask for better and we hope to be back.
