This new resort located in Los Cabos, Mexico definitely possesses a fresh take on the vacation experience, with their risque and raucous entertainment. Aside from their contemporary and lively vibe, the resort offers fantastic and chic accommodations along with great dining options and AMResort's World Class Unlimited-Luxury Inclusions.

Had a great time!

This was my second time in Cabo and my husbands first time. We had a wonderful time at Breathless. The service was excellent overall. The quality of the food and cocktails was excellent. Our rom was more modern decor and overlooked the marina. I noticed a lot of people complaining about the noise at night. I didn't have that experience at all. We were on the 2nd floor too. If you slept with your slider door open all night ... then yes you will hear the hustle and bustle of the nightlife. However, we tried leaving our door open one night and it was too hot. So we closed up so the AC kicked on. There is no swim up bar at the pool, but you won't miss it. The wait staff at the pool are very attentive and you are never waiting around for half an hour waiting on your drink. The waiters at the pool work hard and took exceptional care of us. The beach is very nice and the water is very calm. Gorgeous views as well. Definitely a prime location! Everything was within walking distance or a short cab ride if you don't feel like walking. All the restaurants we dined in were excellent. We only had one odd experience and that was at the Italian restaurant. Our waiter kind of forgot our main entree's and after our appetizer and soup offered us dessert. My husband said..."what about our main course"? The waiter was apologetic and brought us our steaks. Then, after we finished our meal our waiter took our order for dessert, but the NEVER brought it. So, after waiting a long time and our waiter never came back to us we just got up and left. I can see this happening if it was busy or they were short staffed, but there were literally almost empty. Besides us there were only 3 other tables occupied in the whole place. So... I will chalk that up to a new or inexperienced waiter. I was a bit put off though. Everything else there was great. They had a lot of security present to make sure people who didn't belong there didn't get in. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Again, the service was excellent except for that 1 incident, and I'm sure it was an exception and not a regular occurrence. I will definitely go back there again.

Day Pass

Day Pass was from 9 am to 6 pm and a nice value. All-inclusive food/drinks and access to the terrific infinity edge pool and beach club. 1,490 pesos seemed like a decent value for a full day of an AI in a location that is easily walkable from town. Service was wonderful with lots of activities to participate in if you wished.

Such a nice time

My first time in Cabo, and my first time going to Mexico solo, I looked for a good deal in an all-inclusive resort. This was a lovely lucky choice. I have a tiny bit of Spanish, and the employees and staff were so kind in both allowing me to practice, even though most of them spoke very good English. I never felt the lack of a travel companion as I could always chat with the folks at the bar or pool or beach, and even the security guard was kind and cheerful and went out of his way to be helpful to everyone he encountered (he is nicknamed something like "the big guy" in Spanish). In particular, Yurie Hiromoto at the booking excursions desk was very helpful and fun- I ended up booking a solo fishing trip through Sushi Time on a panga (small boat) with the most excellent captain Alberto! I caught 7 keepers including 2 mahi-mahi, and ended up taking home 17 pounds of frozen fillets (and learned you need to bring cash with you- I didn't think ahead of time what I was going to do with so many fish). SO much fun- while we were out we saw two whales breaching and playing as well. It was immensely beautiful. Cabo in December is lovely, but what I learned is the people are even kinder than the climate.

Perfect Location

My wife and I just returned from a 5 day trip to Breathless in Cabo San Lucas, our first trip to the Los Cabos region. We went through Cheap Caribbean and did their Deal of Fortune so we were assigned Breathless as one of 3 adults only resorts in the area. We were fine with any of the 3, so we decided to go with it to save a couple hundred dollars on the trip. Our first impressions were very good, the resort is very modern and beautiful. The check in experience was awesome. They handed us a glass of champagne and assigned us to a fantastic room on the 5th (top) floor on the far end of the hotel (nearest to the beach). The room was very good as well. Minimalist, but still gorgeous with a really nice tiled rain water shower. There was a nice balcony that looked out over the Marina that was an amazing view. Despite the reviews of noise being an issue, other than the seals (which we liked)- we had no issues with noise. A very comfortable room.A couple of things to know, the resort is actually two buildings. One is the hotel, a few small restaurants and the quiet pool. This is the main rectangular building in the images that overlooks the Marina. The other building is triangular and extends out of the beach side of the main building (about 20 meters of walking outside between the buildings). This building has the gym, the spa, the Purple rooftop club, the buffet, the party pool, 4 beach side restaurants, and access to the beach. For whatever reason, we had troubles figuring that out before we left. But the layout works pretty well.Pros:The biggest pro is that the resort is right on the Marina in Cabo San Lucas. Literally walking distance to shops, restaurants, a high end mall, day trips, fishing, activities, etc. We took a few morning runs around the Marina and back (about 3 miles total) and it was amazing. It was easy to leave the resort, and the restaurants and bars were very nice. The mall was great too, I recommend stopping at Baja Brewing for a craft beer as well. The Marina area felt very safe as well. Having stayed at a number of resorts in Mexico, this was the first time we felt very much at ease walking off the resort to plan our activities without using jacked up resort prices. Hint: take a water taxi on the beach to see the Arch (about a mile away), to go snorkeling, and go to Lovers Beach. The Amstar person in the Hotel quoted us at $54 a person, we spent $15 a person by talking to the guy on the beach. I literally think it was the same experience. We took the Maria Bonita II.The resort runs along the mouth of the marina, so while most of the views are of the marina, the end of the resort opens to the famed Madano beach. The resort has a small area on the public beach where the all inclusive service extends. They also provide some things such as snorkeling gear and kayaks. We took a nice kayak trip along the beach one morning, which was amazing. The beach is public, but we are on the end- so most of the foot traffic is to the left down the beach. The popular beach front bars- The Office and the Mango Deck are probably a 5-10 minute walk down the beach. As we were there during Spring Break, we had little interest in hanging out with drunk 20 year olds- we didn't check it out. But from a distance it looked like a fun place the other 11 months of the year. The food was pretty good, really good at a few places. Notably, Bites (with one of or favorite employees Gil) was a really good small plates restaurant. Fishnets (the sea food restaurant) was the best Beachfront restaurant- and to be honest, they had the best service team in the entire resort. The Buffet restaurant (Spoons) was even pretty solid, it was hard not to just eat lunch there every day since it was adjacent to the party pool. The alcohol options were quite good as well. Drinks were strong, and mixed well. Beer choices were mostly Mexican (and Bud Light, which should cause reflection in your life if you are choosing it at an all inclusive). Higher quality options were available if you asked, including Belvedere, Grey Goose, Don Julio (including Anjeo) and my favorite- Havana Club (the real stuff). The activities staff was great. All of them. We did a cooking class, played Jenga (although that was a mistake, in hindsight), Kayaked and enjoyed the music and activities in the pool. They were never pushy, simply would ask- and move on if you said no. They talked to everyone, and tried to create relationships with all of the guests. The music around the party pool was kind of the same every day, but it was good. Having the quite pool as an option was nice too.The resort is pretty small, so we never waited for anything. There were always good chairs available at the pool and beach, so there was no need to get down to the pool early to claim chairs. There was no reservations, always tables available. That was really nice.Housekeeping and room service was fantastic.Cons:The biggest con of the trip had nothing to do with Breathless (other than the difference in the reality of the experience compared to the advertising). We had about 40 SMU frat/sorority spring breakers that were an absolute disaster. From (literally) crying over daddy not wiring more money, to dude bros strutting around (in Mexico) with "We Love Trump" headbands, or just being their normal self- centered, loud, obnoxious selves. The staff handled them pretty well, about as well as they could, but it was a vibe we were hoping to stay away from as an adults only place at this price point. About mid afternoon, they would all leave- and we got a glimpse of what it is probably normally like. A good mix of people 20-75, couples, groups and singles all having fun soaking up the sun having a few drinks. So it is hard to say how much this crew and their behavior affected our experience. The service was a little spotty. There were times in which small requests were not remembered or mistaken. Little things like asking for coffee from the beverage waitress and not ever having it appear. Or one time having coffee pored as we were ready to leave breakfast. At the Italian Restaurant, we thought we were forgotten at one point. Around the pool Moises was great, but one day we had a really poor server who was never around- and messed up a whole bunch of orders. The people in our section began to just go to the bar to get drinks (the bartenders were fantastic). So not a big deal, but just inconsistent. We are pretty easy going, and not picky- but there were a number of times the inconsistency in service was noticeable. Finally, this is hard to explain- but the reality of the resort is a bit different than the advertised product. The nightly entertainment was so-so and the VIP Purple club had no one there (including the pool area during the day). Their location probably means that people looking for active nightlife probably just go into town. But if you are looking to just stay on resort at night, do not expect to be wowed by the nightlife. All in all- it was a really good time. At the right price, we would recommend it- although we are always interested in trying new things. So it is doubtful we will go back. That said, we loved our trip and had a great time.

Winter Getaway

The weather did not cooperate as much as we hoped but we made sure it did not stop us. Enjoyed both pools but especially the one closest to the hotel and the Bites Restaurant. All staff were very helpful but in particular Fernando. We renewed our vows (10th anniversary) and the Adventures Photo people and the Concierge Staff and Paula pulled off a great event in short notice. It was a memorable event - right down to the romantic dinner on the beach. Only real downside were the 40 year old adolescents that partied under our room at the firepit until after 2AM the night before we were to leave. Hotel Staff did nothing to abate the scene.
