Anniversary trip to Cabo at Breathless

My husband and I came here for a five night stay for Valentine's Day and our four year anniversary and had a fabulous time! I did a ton of research off of reviews prior to booking and then continued to read until we vacationed there. Here are the pros during our stay:+service! 5/5 Jimmy at Winks Bar and Fernando at the party pool went above and beyond every time and made you feel so welcomed. You will need to tip but the service is very good+scenery as everyone states is beautiful and probably the best as you get to be on the beach and marina and are seated right where the action is and also footsteps away from local bars, restaurants and shopping and is extremely safe day or night+room and cleanliness was 5/5- no qualms here and they went above and beyond and surprised us with a bottle of champagne, desert and our room was decorated. This was completed while we were at our anniversary dinner!+Quality and value- though this was a very pricey stay we felt they went above especially with all of the details +ease of booking or getting in for dinner, no need to schedule ahead of time as some other resorts make you get concierge service and pay extra for it Entertainment-5/5. Day and night you will not go bored Cons:-Food- was decent 4/5 and length of time dinner took with service was poor but only during dinner-the peddling around the hotel and on the beach took away from the experience, the hotel was very good about it and took NO for an answer but wish the beach was more controlled from sales

Great All-Inclusive - Some Gimmicks

Overall I loved Breathless. It was a great all-inclusive resort. I came by myself and I wish I had taken advantage of all of the activities they had for guests. The bellmen are very nice and helpful. Paulina at the front desk was so helpful in booking a shuttle, printing my boarding pass, and giving me great advice for my stay. The room was beautiful and overlooked the marina. The room service food was okay. The restaurants are way better. The maids will knock incessantly asking if you want room service. That got really annoying. Also, they will enter the room randomly throughout the day. I don't know if this is included but they made my bed twice in one day. Also, don't fall for the $200 coupons! It isn't actually $200. You'd have to spend at least $1000 to redeem them. I was furious. I wanted to go to the spa and save a little money and the guy informed me that I'd have to spend $500 to save $80! Absolute rip off!

The Cabo Breathless staff, pictured Fernando, was so accommodating and energetic with their services! Highly recommend this resort to see their smiling and welcoming faces! Felt safe too with staff EVERYWHERE!

The worst All Inclusive.

First of all the location is great if you want to be able to walk downtown its great. The pools are ok. The food and drinks are terrible. When i now here of all inclusive I will fun the other way. We couldn't finish one meal. The rooms are very generic. I had to upgrade to the most expensive room just to get a bathtub. The service is really slow and concierge is not great. If you're going to be with a party group of friends this place may appeal to you. I will never come back to recommend it to anyone. If I could leave right now and book another hotel that would be my pleasure.

Awesome hotel. I want to give a 5, but there's still some work to be done.

Here's a little breakdown to make it easier for some of you:Location 5Facilities 5Service 4Restaurants 4Rooms 4Would we go back? Absolutely!First, the hotel is in a great location, it mainly faces the Marina, but we enjoyed that view. The pools and common areas are pristine. It has a series of 3 connected buildings that contain the rooms, conference area, coffee bar and one restaurant. Another building that is a short walk away contains the main restaurants, main pool, spa and rooftop bar. It isn't a big deal to walk between the buildings, you get asked for your room number because the area you walk through is public property so others can walk there too.We are vegan and got off to a rocky start with the restaurants. After a few days of food having ingredients we clearly asked for them to leave off, we asked to speak to the food services manager, Pablo. After that, we had no problems. The staff clearly need more customer service training, but the hotel was responsive and receptive and I believe it will get better. On our final days we just stuck to having dinner at one restaurant, the manager there was Gil and him and his entire staff were superb. Pablo obviously influenced this by our previous comments and they went above and beyond to make us happy. And it worked, we were very happy. The first room we had was very loud, but they accommodated us there as well and moved us to a room at the other end of the resort that was higher up. It was much better. I'm not sure what can be done about the noise factor. There are fisherman going out in the early morning, a Pirate Ship with a megaphone taking out groups of tourists, and a very loud and hungry sea lion. In the evening there is a restaurant right on the marina below the hotel rooms that plays music. When the doors are closed most of this goes away, but if you're like me, you still notice it. Well, everyone notices the megaphone. However, the hotel said they were trying to work with the company that runs that operation, so it might get better too.The coffee bar was great in the morning. Leo was wonderful. However, on his day off the guy working had no idea what to do. He literally looked up at the menu as if to get a clue what was in what you ordered (ingredients were not listed). The person in front of me said they were having their espresso drinks there and didn't want paper. He said the only cups they had were just for coffee and poured their drinks into the paper cups. However, there were two different types of glasses available. The couple was dumbfounded. I only write about this because this was one of the typical things happening there that totally lacked all common sense. Another example, the "middle eastern" restaurant serves Miso Soup and Pad Thai, but no hummus. Again, I think this will improve in time. If it doesn't, they're in trouble. Some other special mentions go out to Augustin, Martin and Santiago at Spoon (the breakfast/lunch buffet place). All excellent waiters. As far as us being a gay couple, there were at least 3 other gay couples there and the staff could care less what sexuality you were. Very comfortable environment.
