Second trip to Cabo, the first was at a very nice condo. We wanted to stay close to the Marina and its clubs and restaurants. Looked on google and found this hotel. First its location is fantastic, from places to eat or party all are walling distance. Hotel was very clean and we loved the in room fridge and microwave. The included breakfast was great, everything from made before you omelette to fresh bacon and french toast also excellent coffee. We did NOT get the food package because we loved the small places around downtown. The only criticizem was the pool water was cloudy and felt slimy. Visited a friend and that pool was crystal clear. Also the drinks were expensive and not very good at the pool bar.Loved the grounds, good security with key access and the staff was fantastic, it took literally minutes to get ice delivered to the room. When we arrived they only had a ground level room, way to public for us but when we asked they put us on the third floor with a great balcony. When we go back we plan on staying here for sure.
My review is a bit late (March 2015) but here it is. Love this location. Great staff and food. I think we tried most all restaurants and buffets and didn't have one complaint. Spa was very nice too. We stayed up in the villas which were very nice with a great view watching the whales come in daily. Only down fall (but knew it before arriving) is that the beach is not a swimable beach. You can walk the beach but the closer to the water the bigger the rocks so if you want to walk the beach bring water shoes. 5 Star Review for sure!
Our second time to Los Cabos. Liked the uniqueness of the rooms and restaurant decor at Dreams better, but Grand Fiesta's were better than adequate. The layout of pools, grounds, and that you can swim in the ocean were better by far then anywhere we have stayed before at any resort. Food also was beyond first class, every meal was an experience. You can pay extra for lobster, duck, etc. I would try everything else first, you won't be disappointed. They have 2 venues for musical entertainment at night and 2 show acts a week at this time of year. They all were excellent. Best value for the money in Los Cabos as many have stated.
I am half heartedly giving this resort 4 stars.......mostly based on the gorgeous location/views, the Somma Wine Spa and the hard working staff. We did appreciate all of the effort that goes into maintaining such a large resort, but we were super disappointed in the check in process, our room (location was not great. We also had a leak and tv remote issues) and the food was typical hotel fare (the Italian restaurant was horrible. I most often ended up eating nachos and pizza, ha!) We enjoyed the Somma Wine Spa and felt like it was one of the few highlights of our stay. Despite the beauty of this resort, I wouldn't return and would add many disclaimers before I would recommend it to others.
I came here with my husband and two daughters (20 months and 8 weeks) and we stayed for 4 nights. We upgraded to an ocean front - RM 235 and it was worth it. On the left balcony, we have the view of the ocean and pool and on the right balcony our view was the peninsula restaurant and the fire pit bar. Every night from 8pm to 10pm someone sings/performs in the fire pit and we can hear it from our balcony which is very relaxing. I was actually hesitant on taking my daughters (20 months & 8 weeks) on the Cabo trip because I heard stories about the water and how travelers get sick. It turned out to be a very relaxing and pleasant vacation. I even wash the baby bottles using the water from the faucet despite people saying use bottled water to wash baby bottles. I was informed that the waters are regularly tested and it is safe for drinking/washing baby bottles. For the restaurants, my favorite was the Bodega (steak house) and Blu. We have to ride the golf cart to get to the Blu because it is in a different area. On 10/11/16 we had lunch at the Cevicheria Mexican Restaurant. JAIME, ARACELI, EDGAR ALVAREZ and EDUARDO made my husband's birthday extra special. They enthusiastically sang happy birthday to him. They were also very accommodating to my toddler. Overall, our family had a wonderful vacation. If there is one thing I would complain about, it is the heat. It can get really warm in the restaurants but it is still bearable. It is also advisable to tip the staff. They go out of their way in the heat to meet our needs. Most of them are sweating when delivering food (room service/restaurants) Thank you Fiesta Americana Los Cabos! We will be back.
