Solid 4 stars for this property... definitely not a 4.5 or five star! The staff were excellent and food was good. It's an older property which needs a face lift, especially the lobby (very unattractive) and rooms. Overall, it is a good hotel but far from 5 stars, as some companies rate it. Still a good choice if the price is right.
A tropical playground nestled between the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de San Lazaro Mountains with stunning views. The amenities, facilities and excellent service combine to make the Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos a beachfront resort with something for everybody.
Location: On the beach. 20 min. from the airport, 3 min. ride to San Jose del Cabo, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas.
Note: Strong currents in this area limit ocean swimming.
This was our Fifth stay here. We are always surprised that things seem to get better with each visit. The room was very comfortable, with excellent maid service. The service by the entire staff is unsurpassable. The front desk staff is always ready to help. The restaurants provide good food and excellent service. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. To choose one staff member would be difficult-- they are all great. The only negative is the buffet at Terraza -- it's dark and cool-- the shows are, however ,great .Nights can be a little bit cold. We travelled here over spring break with 2 other families. I have some great comments about this resort and then some that really bothered me. So here is the good- The pool were always clean and so were our rooms ,which was nice. Staff was very friendly. We had some great bartenders( Luis was our favorite ) Kids club was good. And entertainment staff were great around the main pool. The food at the beach restaurant at lunch was always good. The fish tacos were amazing. Slow service though at times. Here is the bad - only two places to eat and buffet didn't have a huge selection. What really upset us though was we were a family of five and our travel agent call to see if we could get a room to accommodate. in which we were told no, that we would have to book two rooms. So okay that is fine, but then we find out that two of our kids would now have to pay adult rates to have that second room. Now to the part that really upset me. After we booked I find a picture on trip advisor showing a room with 2 queen beds and a futon sleeping 5 people. So we ended up paying almost $1600 more for two kids who should have paid kids rates . Not impressed . Total rip off We wouldn't have stayed here but all our friends were already booked.
We visited the resort from April 12 - 19, 2017 for my daughter's 30th birthday! We had a great time, this was our second time here and we enjoyed it as much as the first.I contacted Raul Caudillo, and told him about my daughter's birthday and he had many surprises waiting for, balloons, cake, wine just made her birthday very special. Thank you Raul! The resort is very clean and the beds are heavenly after a day in the sun and pool. The staff are amazing and always smile and say hello! The entertainment team is awesome, especially Alan and DJ they made each game fun!My daughters went on the pub crawl with the team and had a great time. The food is good, breakfast had a large selection and at lunch the fish tacos are fantastic, ate them everyday! There are 3 pools and plenty of seats at each pool. The drinks are good and plentiful. The beach is beautiful and the sound of the waves sound like thunder. We hope to return someday again soon.
We went at the end of January, 2017. This is earlier than we usually go and we probably won't do that again. The days were fabulous but the evening temp dropped lower than we were liked. The hotel was very nice. It was the last one on the strip and it was right next door to the bio-reserve. Unfortunately that had been flooded due to a hurricane and most of the path ways were still under water. But still it was nice to walk around. The beach in front of the hotel was not for swimming but we knew that from the reviews we read. But they were great for walking on and watching the whales and rays. If you are looking for a nice quiet hotel this would be for you. The only negative thing I have to say is the nightly entertainment could have been better. We found it was too early in the evening so we only caught the end of it sometimes as we were usually still having dinner at 7 when it started. So if you like early entertainment this would be good for you. We took 2 excursions and 1 was to go see the Los Cabos arch (which is what this place is famous for) and whale watching and the 2nd was the two town tour. Both were good and we loved the two town tour as we had a great guide that told us a lot of the history, which is what we liked.
The Holiday Inn Resort in San Jose Del Cabo--18 km up the coast from the out of control Cabo Wabo scene--is a great place for kids.Kids stay free...so that's good for the wallet...but more important than that, there's a lot of kids there. as I looked at the kids pool...half were speaking English, and half were speaking Spanish, and a smattering were speaking French. The kids were playing hide the ring in the pool--you know, close eyes someone tosses the ring and then open your eyes ans try to find it under water. Half knew to close their eyes the other half didn't and then the kids needed to communicate on their level to help all to understand the rules. It wasn't English or Spanish or French...it was kid-speak...and it worked well. During the day kids can participate in the adventure club--9a-5p. They made crafts, had ice cream, walked the beach looking for "treasure," and had a wide goose chase to find the hidden clues for a big surprise. A great cultural experience for all involved. Yooli and Arlet did a fantastic job herding the kids and helping them with craft projects and treasure hunting. They were great with the kids. I'd take our girls there again in a heart beat. and they would get there before me...they are already talking when we are coming back.
