Solid 4 stars for this property... definitely not a 4.5 or five star! The staff were excellent and food was good. It's an older property which needs a face lift, especially the lobby (very unattractive) and rooms. Overall, it is a good hotel but far from 5 stars, as some companies rate it. Still a good choice if the price is right.
A tropical playground nestled between the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de San Lazaro Mountains with stunning views. The amenities, facilities and excellent service combine to make the Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos a beachfront resort with something for everybody.
Location: On the beach. 20 min. from the airport, 3 min. ride to San Jose del Cabo, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas.
Note: Strong currents in this area limit ocean swimming.
Just returned from a week at Holiday Inn. We have been coming to this place for years when it was the El Presidente. We were here 3 years ago after it became Holiday Inn. That trip seemed as though nothing had changed but the name. This trip we saw the place going down hill. Food was just ok, ala carte resturant was good but not opted for lunch and dinner a few nights. Buffet breakfast was the best meal of the day. Lunch was not good seemed as though eating leftovers. Dinner not good either. Cantina had great French fries, fish tacos. No guacamole available the whole trip. Mexican fiesta night no beans & rice. Also not sure about other hotels but reusing plastic glasses at the swim up bars. Only one brand of wine and not very good, 3.99 a bottle online. Tecate only beer choice and carbonators not working so soda's were too syrupy. The staff has remained the same though and they were wonderful. Alma our favorite bartender still making great Bloody Mary's. My husband fished and Christian took care of freezing it for us. Hope things go back to the way it was before. We would hate to go elsewhere.
All inclusive resort. Nice pools, but bathwater warm. It's quite a walk out to the ocean. About 50 yards of beach before you can really see the surf. The surf was heavy the entire time we were there. Not sure if it's like that all the time, but it would be dangerous for kids to play as the rip current was high. My room was a very large double queen. The a/c was almost blowing snow out the vents, just the way I like it! However, my friend's room had a/c issues the whole time we were there. Multiple calls to have it fixed and it never really was resolved. WiFi in my room (building #2) was non-existent. My buddy was in building #1 and his worked fine. Seems it only works in close proximity to the main building and pool. The staff was VERY friendly, polite and attentive. The food was marginally better than many of the all inclusive joints I've been to.The fitness room was the coldest room in the complex! Like an ice box, but I liked it. Good place to hide from the heat. Treadmills are decent but the weight equipment was worn and dated. There was a safe in my room to lock valuables, as well as a mini fridge. We didn't venture out from the resort complex as we were there on business and only 3 days. There are a few modern shops, restaurants and bars nearby, but honestly it was just too damn hot to walk there.
This is a very nice place for a quick getaway. Food is available 24-7 and there is a large grocery store just up the road if you need other items. Stay out of the water because the current is strong and dangerous. This is not a super luxurious place but is wonderful to just hideaway. A short bus ride to Cabo is cheap and you can grab a quick tour of the arch. If you're like us and don't care for tourist attractions then you'll enjoy this place. If you need more action stay in Cabo.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort after they got hit by the tropical storm. But the hotel staffs did a fantastic jobs to clean up and made everything back to normal just in time. Apart from the storm, I was able to enjoy my time there and some facilities that have been open. The resort itself is beautiful, the staffs were great and helpful, food was fantastic, location is perfect!
From the airport it's only about a 25 minute drive to the resort. when we arrive at the resort, the employees are very friendly and helpful. The place is airy and open with very clean property. Lots of swimming pools, one with a pool bar! Tennis courts, 2 restaurants, a store with most of your needs. 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive to the local town.
