Solid 4 stars for this property... definitely not a 4.5 or five star! The staff were excellent and food was good. It's an older property which needs a face lift, especially the lobby (very unattractive) and rooms. Overall, it is a good hotel but far from 5 stars, as some companies rate it. Still a good choice if the price is right.
A tropical playground nestled between the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de San Lazaro Mountains with stunning views. The amenities, facilities and excellent service combine to make the Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos a beachfront resort with something for everybody.
Location: On the beach. 20 min. from the airport, 3 min. ride to San Jose del Cabo, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas.
Note: Strong currents in this area limit ocean swimming.
Me and my gf had a great time at this resort. The atmosphere was great and the service. But what we loved the most was the activity team especially Alan and lily from peebles. This guys know how to make it fun. Five stars overall. Will go back.
Wow! What an incredible trip. We ended up scoring a 4 night deal with flights from San Diego for around $500 a person and it was worth every penny! The restaurants were yummy (I ate fish tacos 4 times) and the drinks were of course lightly poured but as long as you weren't being crazy, they kept flowing. The pools were really warm (sometimes too warm) but never overly full. We were embraced and welcomed as a lesbian couple (we were worried!) by the staff and the folks around town. We would love to come back soon! The only suggestion I have is for communication between departments to be a bit better. There were a few times we'd ask a question and the answer would be "uh I dunno ask someone else" which was kind of annoying. But that was a small thing which didn't affect our trip at all.
What a great 5 days we spent there. Our room was very nice, as was the rest of the resort. Only negative on the entire trip was Wednesday's Mexican Food night. If you go, skip the fajitas and the tamales. They are nothing to write home about. The rest of the meal was adequate. The rest of our meals were amazing and the service was outstanding. Just FYI, if you need anything, talk to Monserrat at the front desk. She knows what world class service means. Also, if you need an adult beverage, go see Alma at the adult pool. Her mojitos are the bomb. For breakfast, get Yesenia to make you and omelette (with bacon). Yum
We stayed here last year on a last minute trip and were very pleased. We didn't go with expectations of a luxury resort. The property is a bit dated but the room was fine, clean and roomy. We had a ground floor room near the main pool with a hammock on the patio. The only complaint is that we could often hear the music or entertainment at night so it wasn't very peaceful if you wanted to just sit out on your balcony. We thought the food was fine but we are not picky when we are not having to shop for, prepare or clean up the food. We usually had the ceviche in the patio restaurant for lunch. We always had to ask for more chips as they brought about 10 per order but they brought more when asked. As for dinner, we usually had that in the buffet restaurant and appreciated that there was a good salad bar in there. Breakfast was good there as well with freshly made omelets. As for the drinks, yes the beer choices were limited. The mixed drinks were a little on the weak side but when we asked for an extra shot, they accommodated us. The staff work hard here to please. The scenery was lovely and you could always find a chair by the pool. We loved the location because it was at the end of the hotel row and was about a 15 minute walk to town or to the large grocery store. We stayed at Cabo Azul this year, which coudn't be more luxurious and while we loved it, we would not hesitate to stay here at Holiday Inn again.
The Holiday Inn Resort is an all-inclusive resort fronting the beach in San Jose del Cabo. It is a low-rise property spread out along about 300 yards of beautiful and wide sandy beach that can be accessed easily from the hotel facilities. There are swimming pools for children, families, and adults only so it is easy to find a comfortable place to relax that is reasonably calm and quiet. While there was partying going on and people having a good time, this is not a party resort. The bars and restaurants are scattered throughout the hotel, and some are adjacent to the beach. The rooms are good-sized, each with its own balcony. Although they are somewhat dated, they are well maintained and comfortable. During the slow season, sometimes rooms can be had at a real bargain. The hotel’s staff is friendly and accommodating, although service can sometimes be a bit slow. But, after all it is a resort, so what’s the hurry? The food at the buffets is adequate, but the fare at the ala carte restaurant is better. The best feature of the hotel is its location on a beautiful beach. To one side of the hotel is the San Jose Estuary, a wetland of international importance recognized by the Ramsar Convention. With an observation tower (easily accessed from the hotel) and a footpath, there are many beautiful views as well as endemic and migratory bird species to be seen. The hotel is a short walk to a shopping center with bars and restaurants and a moderate walk to the center of historic San Jose. So guests are not trapped here, as with many of the all-inclusive resorts in the San Jose-San Lucas corridor, and can get out and explore easily. My only complaint is that this hotel, like many other vacation spots, seems to feel that loud and bad music is a necessary component of the experience. If music is necessary in the larger public areas such the restaurants or reception, why not provide traditional Mexican music. Staff, however, were responsive to requests to turn the volume down.In sum, the resort is nice place to stay and a great value.
