Our Opinion

A gem of a resort in the San Jose del Cabo area, the Hyatt Ziva is simply stunning! The rooms are ultra modern 'smart rooms' with TVs that control everything from the curtains to the do not disturb notification. The 500+ rooms feature double sinks, comfy plush bedding, electronic in-room safes and much more. The food is amazing, from the 3 buffet restaurants to the 5 beautifully designed a la carte restaurants. Like most areas in Los Cabos, the ocean has a strong rip tide so ocean swimming is not advisable. This resort is excellent for couples and even better for families, as kids will love the large water park, playground and kids club. The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is definitely near the top of the list of Los Cabos resorts. One more thing...the spa is amazing!

Twics as NiCE........

This was our SECOND visit to HYATT ZIVA LOS CABOS in the past 12 months. It truly is my NEW favorite Hyatt!!!! The SERVICE from Start to Finish of our stay was exceptional. We traveled with a few other couples for Super Bowl weekend and beyond. Our stay was 4 nights and then an additional 3 nights at HYATT Place just down the street. We like to do both as once you arrive at the ZIVA you will not find a need to leave. The people that work there are friendly and always SMILING and helpful. Let's see. I'll do my FAVORITE LIST on this Resort.FAVES:*I'm embarrassed that I do not have the name of the young lady in the Premier Check in lounge. She was a delight to talk to and very helpful. *FOOD *We have been to a couple ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS and I put the food here as VERY GOOD. Many choices, many different restaurants. People that are FOODIES, shouldn't be choosing ALL INCLUSIVES on my opinion, or at least check your expectations. ALL INCLUSIVE does not equal 5 STAR restaurant in New York. The Buffet is large, comparable to a Vegas Buffet. The Italian is good, we enjoyed most dishes. teppanyaki, was our favorite this trip, with a couple sushi rolls and white wine. Chef Alvaro, Doza, Eduardo, Lefty made our dining experience enjoyable. We dined there 2x. The French restaurant was our favorite last trip, it was good, but lamb and steak were over cooked. Er had street tacos at the pool during the day. Made it to the steakhouse for lunch----buffet style. Did not make it to the Spanish restaurant. Again, versus other ALL INCLUSIVES that we have visited, I consider food TOPS.*If you happen to be Hyatt Diamond, the CLUB on the 2nd level, is private, has a great deck, friendly staff, a THANK YOU to Luis, who every morning made sure the women in our group had their lattes. :) Always asking if we needed anything. This area had premium liquor. It was a GREAT way to start the morning, and a chance to get out of the sun in the afternoon.*SPORTS BAR PIANO BAR. Both are on the main level as the lobby. The Sports Bar is a GREAT place, with very comfortable chairs and couches. 3 pool tables, bar and lots of sports memorabilia. It was a GREAT place to watch the Super Bowl. The Piano bar is a great place to grab a drink after dinner. The tequila bar, did not make it there, but looked beautiful and comfortable.*The CREPE STAND and Morning coffee/goodie shop :) BOTH on the main level. THE CREPE STAND is at night, will make you a fresh crepe with unlimited possibilities of toppings. The morning coffee. Had lattes, sandwiches, snacks, muffins, gelato, computers for internet. AGAIN GREAT SERVICE AND STAFF.SO to wrap this up. If you are in need of getting to SUN in the winter, I would HIGHLY recommend a visit. The only two things that you might be looking for and they do not have, the beach. I'm a strong swimmer but I would say the beachI'id un swimmable for most. It is about 20 mins to Cabo San Lucas and Lands END. I find that area very touristy, so it wasn't a miss for me Those might be big deals for you. Downtown to Los Cabo is a 25 minute walk , for shops and restaurants and the perfect place to spend the day, WHEN YOU ARE NOT STAYING HERE!!!!! :) Extend your stay, or land late one day and stay at the HYATT PLACE.CANNOT WAIT TO BE BACK, thank you again Everyone at the HYATT ZIVA LOS CABOS.SAFE TRAVELS and ENJOY

Great service

We had a great trip at this all inclusive resort. The resort was absolutely beautiful and a great place to relax and enjoy. One thing that really stood out about this location was the service. Every restaurant and bar we went to, waiters were extremely attentitive and truly cared about the customer. Wilberth served us in the italian restaurant and noticed I was a bit chilly and came back with a Hyatt blanket for me so that I could enjoy my dinner. That was so sweet and really made us feel comfortable. We would 100% come back to this resort in the future.

Great All-Inclusive

First experience with an all-inclusive. Usually cruisers, we opted for this resort based on reviews and the fact that liquor included. Pros: Just about everything. The reception was first class, the room was really nice, modern with all expected amenities. The included stocked mini fridge was a pleasant surprise. The food was much better than I expected. The taco stand near the main pool each day was a real treat. I hads one of the best pieces of sea bass I’ve ever had in the Italian restaurant and the steaks at La Hacienda were yummy. If you like steaks, fresh fish and authentic tacos, you will love this place. And…the Tepanyaki room was fun and delicious. All the drinks I had were premium…I like Jack Daniels and Beefeater (not together!); they served both. My wife had margaritas the whole trip and first one she got was strong enough for an elephant; never watered down. The swim up bar is so cool, the infinity pool was plenty warm and never had a problem finding a great spot to sun both by the pool and on the beach. Above all though the service was phenomenal, and it felt genuine. Cons: None really. I try not to let things bother me on vacation. I read many reviews in advance and most were accurate except that I wouldn’t characterize some of the issues as complaints and let them ruin a great vacation, like others. Some have expressed concerns over main pool temp…which is true, the main pool is not heated and too cold to enter for me, but its huge and there was plenty of room in the infinity pool so why complain? I’m sure in the middle of summer its plenty warm. The suite setup is unusual in that the bath and shower area are wide open to room except for some shutters. Didn’t bother us. The shower oscillated between hot to cold- again didn’t let it bother me. If I had to say one thing, it was that where we were located was noisy at night, not from the resort, but because our entry door faced to the main road, I heard these massive HVAC fans going all night and the nightclub across the street into the wee hours. Next time I’ll just ask for a different location… Additionally: The resort is not close to Cabo San Lucas, but like a 30 US dollar cab ride. If you go and want to see Cabo, a couple we met told us they took the municipal bus for ~375 pesos (for both, there and back) Seemed extremely cheap and they had an experience to boot. Been there enough, so we stayed at resort entire time. There is a “La Comer,” which I can only describe as giant Walmart style store heavy on grocery just across the street and a couple blocks over that was a easy stroll to get to and worth going to to see. And they had inexpensive souvenirs and toiletries you may have forgotten. They take USD and register automatically convert to peso at exchange rate of 20.10 peso per dollar (Feb 2017)…very fair. There is an OXXO across the street too; everything very inexpensive. One thing I did not like, unrelated to resort is the butter in Mexico! Mexican butter or “mantequilla” I learned, is in fact butter, but has a taste that did not agree with me at all…so a few days without butter  I survived.

1st Time All Inclusive Resort Experience

This is the first time I have ever stayed in an all inclusive resort and I am happy that I chose the Hyatt Ziva. Our trip started out a little bumpy with check in but after that everything was just great! This resort is very picturesque! The fire pits are lovely and a great place to rest at whether it is day or night. The food was good and the buffets have plenty of options/varieties for anyone. We were unable to check out the Mexican restaurant because it was closed on the night we were going to go. We also missed out on the Asian restaurant because of the menu choices. The French restaurant was good and so was the Italian restaurant. The grounds are immaculate. Even the outdoor rest rooms were clean and had a nice smell to them.I loved the atmosphere of this resort. The only things that I can say that are negative is that the rooms are cleaned very late. We came to our room several times during our stay and the room was still not serviced at 4:00 p.m. even though we had informed housekeeping that we were out of our room by 9:00 a.m. each day. They also have a very limited room service menu if you decide you want to stay in for dinner. Another item that was bothersome and perhaps management can come up with another alternative is that in the adult only pool area people would put their towels on the chairs before 9:00 a.m. and not come out until the afternoon. This meant that we would have to use the chairs and pool where children would be. Other than these small items I would go here again in a heart beat!! This hotel has now changed me forever. I will look into all inclusive resorts from now on when traveling in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Super here !

Nearly everything is near perfect !The rooms - large airy, air con with sep fan... Excellent Linens that fit the large beds, excellent bed very comfortable, there is a choice of pillows that you can ring down for.Room service great too !The food and the restaurants around this complex are all excellent !I would say the only negative is the Very Large Pool in the centre of complex if FREEZING COLD !! Over 5 days I think only about 5 people managed to get in !! There were over 800 guests here !!
