Depressingly disappointing

This was my happy place over the past decade. I've been many times, but this is my first stay at Pacifica as an "all inclusive."I've been up all night on my first of only 3 nights and I'll tell you why...We arrived and were given 2 welcome drinks. We asked what they were made of and got an iffy response of, "vodka?" I turned back around to find the staff laughing as they watched us take a sip, only to realize it tasted horrible and was red, sugary water with a cherry. Nothing you'd expect to receive in Mexico, much less the Pacifica resort I used to love.Upon check in, we were told we'd have to wait until 4pm and must share one bed even though I paid for a 2 bed deluxe ocean view room for a friend and myself. Their excuse was that the resort had 2 weddings booked for the same day and they ran out of rooms with 2 beds. I asked how the dual weddings would affect our ability to use the resort restaurants, etc. The front desk attendant answered, "No! The weddings are on the beach and will be over by 10pm." This was a lie.We were put in a room on the lowest floor with a view of the buildings, crackling electrical switches, air conditioning that makes a banging noise, a clock plugged into an outlet that turned off each time the electricity cut out, a leaking faucet, a door that doesn't open or close properly/ making a screeching noise. We have zero Wi-Fi access despite trying endlessly to get a connection through 3 different devices and "help" from the front desk, but still no wifi. I brought this to the attention of the front desk, but I was told there are no other options until the next day. Only one person named Jaqueline helped to find a way to transfer us to a better room and that is because I called again for help. Jacqueline is the only person who apologized for the inconveniences. I will have to see what happens today when we are allowed to move. I say "today," because we've been up since 4am. After the loud music and party people finally stopped yelling around 1am, we tried to get some sleep. At 4am, a man started yelling at the top of hiss lungs. This resort is built in a crescent shape and sounds echo throughout. In the past, the Pacifica I had known was always peaceful with a tranquil vibe. After the guy stopped shouting, there was a huge fight in the hallway with 2 women screaming and pushing one of the security guards. Their domestic dispute just finally stopped at 5:40am. It got so bad that I dialed zero to inform the front desk and no one answered after waiting over 3 minutes with the phone ringing. Completely frustrated and worried about the way these people were behaving in the hall, I had to open our door and ask them to stop screaming. They didn't stop for over an hour. It has been just over 12 hours here and I'm seriously regretting this choice of resorts. It is not a 4+ star environment anymore. Not even close. The beautiful beachfront is still the same, but that's about it in terms of the beauty Pacifica Resort once offered. I paid a lot of money for this vacation, thinking it was worth the upgrades. Now I can say this booking was way overpriced for the quality of what we received so far. The weddings took over the whole resort and partied LOUDLY well past midnight with people screaming and blasting music as if there were no other guests at the resort. We walked to our room and stepped on shards of broken glass in the hallway. We decoded to go up to the Sunset Beach Market for dinner and a respite from the wedding atmosphere. The service there was terrible, understaffed and clearly irritated with all the kids running around ordering food with their all-inclusive bracelets. The shuttle service was slow and sneaked terrible inside - a sorry comparison to the past version where a friendly driver would welcome you into a beautiful vehicle with aromatherapy lavender essence and calming music. As I write this review, I'm laying here exhausted and wishing I were anywhere but here at this resort. I travel a ton and realize that perfect customer service is rare so I try to be understanding, but my last 12 hours here have left me depressed and extremely disappointed. If I could finally get some sleep, I'd like to dream about the Pacifica I used to know.

Friend’s Wedding

The views at Pueblo Bonita are stunning! That’s what we came for. Service was quite slow and the food was always cool/room temperature. Right before my friend’s wedding the microphone system was not working. It appeared they didn’t even test it until 5pm which was the time the wedding was supposed to start. Shuttles to the Pueblo Bonita Sunset resort took anywhere from 10-30 minutes which didn’t really make sense. The sunset resort is right next door up a large hill and that is where you get on a bus to go to the other resorts. The logistics could use some improvement and it is quite expensive to have cold/room temperature food the entire trip. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the omelet woman is a sweetheart but we sat through an entire 30 minute breakfast and never got served coffee or water. I️ would stay somewhere else if I️ go back to Cabo.

I want acknowledge a young man by the name of Brandon at the pool/ bar/service. He was exceptional. I think he is a total asset to this property. Always had a big smile and was there before we had to ask for anything. He seemed to really enjoy his job. Thank you Brandon!

Awesome hotel!

Loved everything about it! Food was excellent. Service was good. Pool and beach were clean and very nice. It was great to be able to take the shuttle to other resorts, too. Pacifica was smallish...which made for a nice, quiet (but not too quiet) adult, couples getaway!

Never Again

The place is amazing to look at but the inner workings are really not up to par. I am very disappointed.I will say the staff there was excellent and that is the only reason I am giving this resort a rating of a 2. Outside of the staff I am not very thrilled.1st) After being up since 3:00am and arriving at the resort by late that afternoon we were tired and just wanted to get something to eat and have a drink. Just an hour to unwind would have been great. However, nobody was wanting to listen to that though. They sat us down at a desk so we could get our “all-inclusive bracelets" (that we could have got at the front desk when we checked in) but what the main reason for this was to set us up to hear a sales pitch about attending a time share meeting. After finally getting out of that ordeal, we had to follow a guy around for an hour showing us the place. The whole time we were telling him that we just want to eat and get a drink. We were beyond exhausted and frustrated by the end of that.2nd) We spent a lot of $$$ to stay at this resort. Most of this was for the pools and pool bar (since there is not much more to do there). On Friday they shut down one of the pools and the pool bar and music at the other pool for a wedding at 5:00pm. We ended up just going to bed and listening to the wedding half the night. On Saturday, they had two more weddings with the same result for us. To me that is almost stealing. People pay money to go to a resort based on the advertising of their property but when you get there they say, no you can't use this portion of the property because we have re-rented it out to other people. There is not much else to do at the resort so it kind of kills the experience. 3rd) The drinks really are horrible. no two ways about that. There was nothing of quality they offered or at least that they had showing and the drinks had only a thimble of alcohol in them. We ended up ordering doubles with a side shot (which the shot was about an 1/8th of an inch deep in the bottom of a plastic cup) just to be able to get enough alcohol in our drinks to almost be OK. Since they only served nasty stuff it was a small victory. We eventually got tired of this and went into town to buy our own bottles of alcohol to make decent drinks out of.4th) The food was not that great and cold a lot of the time. I was hungry most of my vacation. It was all simple food with no taste at all. If you wanted to eat at a steak place you had to reserve 24 hours in advance and pay 30 dollars per person. I'm on vacation I don't like to make plans that far ahead. Also, what happen to all-inclusive anyway? When we would order room service it was at least an hour wait if not longer. Then sometimes the food tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long period of time. I could go on but I won't.5th) You can’t go in the ocean. If you even get close to the water they send people out to make you get back. Since the pools are probably shut down for a wedding you are most likely not going to spend much time getting your feet wet.In summary, in my opinion it’s a bit of a rip off. It feels like they take your money with a smile but then they spend YOUR whole vacation trying to short you out of everything they can. Most likely to make their profit margin larger. I felt deceived and ripped off a bit. I won't be going backImprovements that would help;- Try to attend to the customers’ needs when they first show at the resort. Most of them have been traveling for a long time to get there and just got off a long shuttle ride. Offer them a beverage and maybe something to eat. They will be much happier.- Create an area to have weddings and other events that is away from the main pool and bar areas. That way you are not taking a major part of the resort away from the rest of us that are there on vacation.- Don't make it so hard to get quality alcohol. It won't kill you to keep good stuff out on the shelf.- Pour more alcohol in the drinks. This is a complaint I see over and over about this resort. When we go into town the drinks are amazing but at the resort they suck. This leads me to believe it’s only that way for profit reasons. It is insulting to us that pay hundreds of dollars a day for an all-inclusive resort, just to be shorted at every corner.-You have to get some better food.. The food is nothing special and the room service has to get faster delivery times.-Get some activities to do there. All there is to do in the evening is play in the pool (If it is available) or walk on the beach. Boring!!And finally it feels like you want every last dollar you can get and then offer the least amount possible for it. You need to fix this perception or people will quit going. I got so tired of the nickel and diming there.
