Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort and Spa

I just got back from a bachelorette trip, and stayed at this resort for 5 nights. We had amazing service poolside from Alexis, and enjoyed the bar service from Ivan. All the staff was great, but these two definitely stood out to our group. The food was decent at the resort, and we liked that we could utilize the shuttle to check out the other Pueblo Bonito properties. Everyone in our group is already talking about wanting to come back for another vacation.
Take me back!!! I just got back from an amazing 5 day stay there for a Bachelorette party and I almost didn't come home. Initially we were a little concerned about how far from town we were and how quiet it was but we quickly fell in love. The beach is beautiful and there aren't a ton of tourists/vendors on the beach. It's so quiet and peaceful! You can't swim in the ocean but that's an easy 15 minute cab ride (or you can take the shuttle) to downtown. It was like having the best of both worlds because we could easily get downtown and stay out until 3:00 AM and then come back and recover by the pool the next day (and order late night room service). No screaming kids (and we could swear up a storm) and everything was spread out and sooooo comfortable!! The restaurants weren't packed and food was decent.By far, my favorite part about it was lounging by the pooll - our service at the pool was amazing!! The waiter made it SUPERB!! If you go, do yourself a favor, find Alexis' section and get a chair there! That guy was ON it. After we met him, we made sure to stay in his section the whole time. He would immediately bring waters (which he did for everyone), because of course you'll need it with that sun. He checked on us constantly and was by far the best person we had serve us our entire stay. He busted his butt whole time and just never stopped. Even if you said you didn't need anything 6 times, he'd come back that 7th when you needed it. Alexis ROCKED!! Here's a list of positives and negatives. Up sides:1. Alexis at the pool2. Ivan at the bar was awesome too. So much fun.3. Free shuttle to the other 3 sister properties where you can eat and drink with your all inclusive band!4. Mellow beach pretty much to yourself 5. Pool isn't as packed as the sister properties 6. True oasis 7. Adults only8. Entire staff was so nice and helpful. Literally everyone. 9. 24 hr room service.10. VERY clean and well kept property. Down sides:1. Food was so so2. Full service restaurants were nice but slow (we had 8 girls total). Took us 3 hours to get through dinner one night!3. Big pool is cold!!4. It's a bit windy on that side (this could be a positive too because it cooled off nicely). 5. Beach isn't swimmable. Upsides waaaaaaay outweigh the down sides. We're having a reunion next April there!!
We stayed in the towers with a gorgeous view facing mostly west. The room at the towers was a suite and was by far the most beautiful resort room we have stayed in. Very clean every day!! Manuel (Manny) was the butler assigned to our room. Manny is simply amazing. So amazing that we did not considered him a butler, but instead a friend. From the beginning Manny was very helpful, and very friendly. He had a way of knowing exactly what we needed. The resort is fantastic, the food was incredible, and when you meet a friend like Manny it just makes everything simply perfect. We did not eat at the Asian restaurant on site, but we did eat at all other places. Everything was very good. We highly recommend taking a quick shuttle ride over to the sister resort Sunsets. It is a very different feel over there and fun to experience. This is where Aliyah comes in. She was amazing!! Aliyah ALWAYS was there to help us also. She was so friendly, and also someone we considered a friend. We asked her about eating over at Sunsets and she recommended LaFrida. It was fantastic!! Our waitress was Fabiola and she was perfect! What a great night that was. You also must visit the "The Market" at Sunsets. Pacifica is generally a quite resort, which my wife and I really enjoyed. Everything was very well taken care of. The receptions at the Towers each evening were great. The chefs would greet us and explain their dishes to us. Incredible! Hugo was typically the host and did a great job as well. The beach is endless and beautiful. We highly recommend Pueblo Bonita Pacifica!!
First trip to Cabo with the wife and found Pueblo Bonito Pacifica on Costco Travel and we liked that it was adults only, all-inclusive, and if we got bored there were other Pueblo Bonito resorts we could be shuttled too that honored the all-inclusive deal. Stayed for 5 nights in April and we loved it. Hawaii used to be our favorite vacation spot, but this one just surpassed it I think.... of course I have no idea what Cabo is actually like because I never left the resort, but that's because we were perfectly happy the whole time to sit by the pool everyday, or get a bite to eat, or partake in the spa, etc. We wanted relaxing and we got it. Not only was most of the staff super nice, but even the clientele was really great (met alot of interesting couples there). Pros: All-inclusive and ability to go to different sister resorts (Sunset). Food: Breakfast buffets at Siempre, especially the brunch on Sunday was fantastic. Live violinist was playing and SO MANY desserts.... oh so good. Lots of food choices throughout and we even did the Quivira Steak House (extra $35 p/p) but that was THE best meal we had there by far. Not to say the others were bad, but some of the other restaurants try to fancy the food up a bit and by the end I just wanted a big tasty steak and mashed potatoes.... DONE! No regrets!. Also, we went up to the Quivira Market at the Sunset (5 min away by shuttle) and it was like every food you could possibly imagine at an upscale mall food court was available as part of the package.... we had yummy gelato ourselves and had planned to return for Milkshakes from the 50's diner but ran out of time. Other Pros.... Spa was very relaxing, almost like we were the only ones in there. I did a Gentleman's facial and wife did one of massages that puts golf balls on your back (??). Regardless, we both enjoyed it and the amenities in the spa including the hot and cold tubs and their showers. Pool: 2 nice pools, the smaller one near the beach is a little warmer. No problem getting lounge chairs though we did put our towels out before breakfast to get a better spot. Staff: Super friendly, super nice... nearly everyone spoke English. Actually you forget your in Mexico, seems to be almost all Americans or Canadians at the resort. Note - I read to tip staff so I brought $100 in $1's to hand out during the stay and that probably enhanced my treatment by the staff. Oh, almost forgot, the grounds are so CLEAN and well maintained!!! They have so many staff members keeping the grounds up... rarely ever saw trash anywhere. Incredible job. Cons: Very few. Can't swim in the ocean (you wouldn't even want to try...punishing looking waves). We did not do the Timeshare presentation they offered us which provided some more spa discounts, but we heard many stories from others who did. So this is all hearsay but whoever runs the timeshare presentations apparently doesn't honor the 90min window of time they say it will take and kept some people for 3-4 hours, despite them saying they didn't want to buy. I think if you're very adamant that you're done at the 90 minute marker, then you're probably okay. Note, also heard from 2 couples that bought the timeshare and were thrilled with the offer, so... who knows...we may consider it next time now that we know we like the location.Rooms: They weren't the best out there and they're a little small in some ways, but the shower was nice, bed was very comfortable, patio and chairs outside were also comfortable. We didn't spend alot of time during the day in the rooms. Recommendations: Bring singles to tip. Check out the Quivira Market at some point. Participate in some free activities offered by or around the pool...they're actually fun. We took the Tequila class and learned so much and made our drink ordering the rest of the trip so much better (Better tequila = better vacation). If you don't get enough to eat at the dinner restaurants, order more or extra desserts.
Best resort my wife and I have ever visited. We have be to several different resorts at different island's and this one is now at out top. Super clean, excellent staff. We celebrated our 40th anniversary and from the time we arrived at the entrance we were wished happy anniversary and everywhere in the resort. They upgraded our room and made anything we wanted happen. Brandon our pool server each day was super kind and made sure we always had a drink or something to eat. This is one resort we will return to for another special time. Put this one on your must list!
