Just returned from a wedding at Pueblo Bonito and it was a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony! We had an Executive Suite which was very spacious, clean and had a beautiful view. There are several pools but we made it to the main pool, and another smaller one right by our room (3136) so that was very convenient. Both were great with swim up bars and food service. Our impression of the food was good, but not great. That is not unusual with an all inclusive i think. Overall, we had a blast with our family and friends but you have to rely on golf carts to get you most places and at times they are hard to get so allow plenty of time if you need to be somewhere at a specific time like we had to for the wedding. We dined at Frida one night and there is an additional charge just to be there along with extra charges for any specials. The wine was very expensive also. Overall ambiance and service were excellent even though we didn't have a table outside. Just beware of your final incidental bill upon checkout....it is difficult to understand the charges so read carefully and we have also incurred extra charges on our credit card since we got home. The 800 phone number works great when you make your reservation but now when we have a question about our bill it's very hard to contact anyone???? My email has not been answered either. I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer but it's a little frustrating. Yes, I would recommend going though.....beautiful place!
Pros: This is our 3rd visit in 10 years to this resort. The grounds and facilities are kept up beautifully. They look the same as our first visit. The rooms are beautiful with everything you need. Every staff person I encountered during the week was accommodating and friendly. The pools are all lovely, especially the sky pool, but you have to get there early to get a chair. Cons: The beach is beautiful, but way too rough to swim in the ocean. The resort is on a hill, but they have a great shuttle service. The most disappointing aspect of the resort was the food. The Market Place was like a mall food court with bad food. I would never do all inclusive here with all the great food outside the resort
Our room was great! Friendly staff. Food was great! Sky Pool fish tacos are AMAZING! One of our favorite golf cart drivers-Enrique- was so kind. We met him on one our first days there and he remembered our names and our stories. He definitely made us feel so welcomed! Can't wait to visit again!
Great time and great property! Staff was very friendly, food was surprisingly very good, and believed to be a good value for an all-inclusive resort (which was my first time with such a setup). Will plan on being back for sure!
Pueblo Bonito is an amazing resort. We stayed at Montecristo for 8 days/7 nights and had a wonderful family vacation. The Montecristo villas are beautiful, the restaurants had great food and the service was also very good. If you stay at Montecristo you do have some wait times for rides from the hotel vans to/from your room but still would not have given up the villa at Montecristo for anything. The sky pool is a must and the resort has the best children's pool I have ever seen. It has a swim up bar for the parents while the kids can swim next to you and enjoy the pool as well. This was our best family vacation and would recommend Pueblo Bonito to anyone. Finally, we were there during March and were able to see the whales from our balcony as they swam right off the beach of the hotel grounds. Truly beautiful. Can't wait until we can go back.
