Our Opinion

Great property for all... families, couples, young, and old. It's very active with a great kids club (water slides, playground, indoor area with lots of activities for kids). It's a medium size resort with a quiet pool as well as a busy pool. Good food and lots to do for everyone. It deserves a high four star rating.


This beautifully designed Mexican/Californian style resort provides impeccable standards of comfort and luxury. Spacious accommodations, great facilities and a beautiful beachfront location ensure success with even the most discerning traveller.

Location: On the beach in San Jose del Cabo, 5 min to San Jose, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas, 15 min from the airport. Note: Strong ocean surf and undertow, swimming not recommended.

My experience at Royal Solaris was not a pleasant one. The pool area was wonderful (relaxing adult pool) the main pool had lots of kids that kept the seats at the swim up bar occupied. The beach had no water activities the waves were huge (I later found out later there's no swimming on the beach.The room needed updating it was clean but very old...not what we are use to staying in. Service at restaurants was slow but Marco Polo the steaks were fabulous but at an extra fee not included in the all inclusive. I will do better research when looking for a resort in Los Cabo thus one I will not return to

Nice Resort

We stayed here July 7-15, 2017. Upon arrival we were greeted & our luggage was taken care of as our rooms were not ready. We had booked 2 rooms as our 19 year old son and 22 year old daughter had their own room. Stephany checked us in and I told her that we needed one room with a king bed and one room with 2 double beds. She acknowledged this and my entire family heard this conversation. We went up to our rooms, but the kids room was not ready and the housekeeper was in there cleaning, so we put their luggage in our room and went to explore. When we got back, the kids went to their room to find it had one bed. We went to the front desk where Stephany proceeded to tell my husband that no such request was made for the 2 beds and that there were no more rooms available. He told her that we would be there for 8 nights and that we needed a room with 2 beds. She put us on a list and told us that maybe they could move the kids the following day. We then requested a roll away and after phone calls, 3 visits to the front desk and a few hours, the kids finally got the roll away. They were then moved to a new room the following day. On Thursday night the air conditioner stopped working in their room and they could not fix it so the kids had to move AGAIN AT MIDNIGHT. It was very frustrating and inconvenient. Other than that, the rooms were spacious and very clean. We left a tip daily for the housekeepers and for the guy stocking our refrigerator. We requested no soda and mostly water, and that was done for us (plus the beer). We were not bothered by anyone for club status or timeshares. The resort as a whole is smaller than some, but that was fine with us. We sat at the more quiet end of the pool and quite liked closer to the beach. You cannot swim in the water as it is just too dangerous. The waves are amazing. All of the employees are very friendly and they work very hard to keep the resort clean and looking good. The service at the pools for drinks is better than any place we have ever stayed. The food was good in the buffet and we felt that there was a nice variety. We did not attempt to make reservations in the specialty restaurants because you had to call at 9am and we were at the pool or breakfast by then. Plus, the men needed to wear long pants and we do not pack such items on a beach vacation! We did not pay for any of the parties they offered as it was $55 per person and not worth the money to us. The pizzas made by the pool are fantastic. Lucy at the omelette station at breakfast is a gem! She made us look forward to breakfast every morning with her friendly, fun personality. She was just the best! And she made delicious omelettes and made mine with egg whites when requested. The service was pretty good at the tables. There were some meals that we were not served drinks in a timely manner, but overall, it was good. The burgers finger foods out by the pool were pretty good as well. We booked an excursion through our Apple rep (Angel) and went on a sailboat with Cabo Adventures. It was incredible and we highly recommend it. They picked us up at the resort and took us back at the end of the trip.My husband and I are runners and ran every morning and felt perfectly safe. There are sidewalks to run on. The beach is a bit tough to run on as it is very slanted and then above that, thick sand.The resort is located exactly 1 mile from San Jose del Cabo. There is another shopping plaza a little more than a half mile from the resort too. The public bus will pick you up outside of the resort and take you into town for $1 per person. It's the same price to return. We chose to take a taxi into town as it is only $7 one way and it is air conditioned and not crowded. San Jose is a magnificent town. There are so many treasures there. There are so many restaurants, bars, art galleries, breweries and shops!! We went into the town several times during our stay and ate at a few of the restaurants. There is also a great bakery. The area downtown is being torn up as they are improving it, but it was still great to be there. We especially enjoyed Thursday evening there as all of the art galleries were open and there was a ton of live music. Cabo San Lucas was about a 30 minute taxi ride from the resort and the cost was $40 one way. It was worth checking out, but San Jose stole our hearts!We would recommend this hotel and highly recommend checking out the local culture!

Great Experience

We (my boyfriend and his parents) arrived to the hotel before 3, so that gave Carla ample time to talk to us about going to a time share presentation....while this was happening, I was wondering around the lobby and had myself a margarita. We made appts for the presentation in return for free tickets to the members only Carnival show and for 2 free excursions. After 3, we went to check in, our room still was not the gentleman checking us in upgraded our room. We were in 1404 now....ocean view, huge balcony with a Jacuzzi, robes and slippers. It was quite nice. My boyfriends' parents were not as lucky. Their room was awful and tiny and had a view of a service truck road and of the pool in the neighboring hotel. The beds are hard as a rock, but the pillows and blankets are comfy. The beach was absolutely amazing. You cannot swim in it, which I was perfectly ok with....but the waves are just amazing. More family members were suppose to come, including a child, so that is was we booked at an child friendly.....those family members bailed after reservations had been made....I will never stay at child friendly resort again. There were more children sitting at the swim up pool than adults. And children in line at the lobby bar every night. Anywhoo....Finding a good spot at the pool was difficult unless you go down early. We hung out mainly at the adult pool. There is a server there to run drinks, so that was nice. The food was pretty good. And the view at the buffet restaurant was very nice if you sat outside. We ate at Marco Polo one night, it was very good. The reservation system is not the best. We called and called and called and never got an answer. It delayed our entire day. We finally got through around 1030 and had to settle for an 8 pm reservation. Then we go there, and they would not allow my boyfriend in because he had on khaki shorts. He had to have pants. Who packs pants on beach vaca?! But the host ask my boyfriend for his measurements and then magically busted out with pants for him. It was hilarious. The snack bar is the best. Those cheeseburgers are amazing. The entertainment in the lobby is quite fun too. All in all it was great trip.

New Shows by the New Entertainment Staff

We visited Royal Solaris in San Jose Del Cabo this month (July 2017) and found that all entertainment staff were new to Royal Solaris since the last time we were there about a year ago. We were also pleased to see that they have new shows at night, and very happy they kept the show with the Mariachi. We were so pleased to meet all the new staff, Christian, Veronica, Federico, Robbie, Fer, Manuel... all are just wonderful people. Christian and Veronica muchas gracias por todo, you guys made our stay at Solaris even better for your outstanding smiles and help. It was a pleasure meeting you guys. Just two recommendations to the Resort. It is so hard making a reservation for Marco Polo, I was on hold for nearly ten minutes and hardly any times available once someone help me, do something about it. Also, please don't have the Mariachi play songs in english. Es un Mariachi Mexicano, Gracias.

Great Start to our Honeymoon

We stayed here for 4 nights to start off the honeymoon tour with my husband. The facilities are incredible, and the pool, well, I want this at my place haha. The staff were so accommodating, especially Omar from the front desk. He made sure that we felt comfortable and was very friendly from the moment we arrived. I was surprised by the live entertainment, being a Broadway fanatic. One of the lovely young performers Kaitee was simply glowing and genuinely looked like she was having a great time performing, a true professional! All of the performers were. She also was so warming to speak to and always made my husband and I laugh and provided great conversation by the pool.I absolutely loved the stretching/yoga classes that Kaitee ran. I'd been having trouble with an old volleyball injury that was niggling recently and she helped me with that alot! She was a trained Pilaties instructor aswell which was great.Overall are stay was fantastic! the food was great and the location was superb right by the beach - Would definitely come back!
