Our Opinion

Great property for all... families, couples, young, and old. It's very active with a great kids club (water slides, playground, indoor area with lots of activities for kids). It's a medium size resort with a quiet pool as well as a busy pool. Good food and lots to do for everyone. It deserves a high four star rating.

This beautifully designed Mexican/Californian style resort provides impeccable standards of comfort and luxury. Spacious accommodations, great facilities and a beautiful beachfront location ensure success with even the most discerning traveller.

Location: On the beach in San Jose del Cabo, 5 min to San Jose, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas, 15 min from the airport. Note: Strong ocean surf and undertow, swimming not recommended.

Great entertainment staff!

The entertainment staff was outstanding! Rod taught an amazing morning exercise class. Then the staff runs the pool activities, then they perform in the evening. Their evening performance was well done with clever choreography and beautiful costumes.

Average all inclusive

Visited this resort as a getaway with my husband. The resort is very family centered, we would have enjoyed it more as a family vacation than as a couples getaway. Lots of screaming kids and plenty of space in the kids pool. Wifi in the resort is a racket. You pay 8$ per day, per device. Which is hard when you both want to use your phones plus an iPad or laptop. However, wifi is free in the lobby- which is beneficial. The food is mostly sub-par. A few good finds throughout the stay included espresso drinks at the lobby bar, fresh donuts at breakfast and made to order personal pizzas by the beach. Aside from that, you can expect food to be luke-warm and often undercooked. The resort has two restaurants that are specialty (not buffets). These two restaurants are difficult to get a table at, and are not open every night, so the buffet is often what you are left with for dining options. Again, the food was often Luke-warm, undercooked. In addition to this, the meal options are strange. We didn't recognize much of what was on the menu. Alcohol at the resort is bottom of the barrel and often tasted diluted. If you order all your drinks as a "double" it will be more like the single pour you get in the states. The grounds are small, and you can get around easily. The beach is beautiful, but the waves are high and the water is not suitable for swimming. If you lay by the pool all day, waiters will happily bring you drinks all day long. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Royal Solaris with three kids under the age of 10

Great first time experience for our kids (ages 3, 6, & 9). Our concierge, Luis, was wonderful! Helped us book anything we needed, whether it be restaurant reservations, transportation into Cabo San Lucas, or booking an excursion. Our room was fine, we had to ask for a rollaway bed for one of our children since there were 5 of us, they could've had that set up prior to our arrival. The AC didn't work great and got quite hot at night. Drink service could've been better by the pool. It seemed like we were always having to leave our seats to get our drinks. The restaurants were OK. We only went to the Italian restaurant once and felt rushed because apparently there was a reservation right after us-I did not appreciate the waiters service. The buffet was good but pretty repetitive so it was getting old by the last day. The pizza place was amazing! We had lunch there almost every day. Overall, we got what we paid for and that was fine with us. The kids had a blast and that's all that really mattered in this case.

Had a great time, loved it so much we are coming back in November

Great time and a wonderful stay for me and my wife. Fun all day and night or just do nothing. Some of the people that made this stay special are: Xochilt in reservations, Moto Moto in entertainment, Alihendro and Karen at Marco Polo restaurant, Leon and Albert at the members lounge, Jose Romano and Vity at members services and the last person but not least was the person that made us feel the most special during our entire trip, Santos from guest services who was happy to help us in any way during our stay. Thanks to all of the employees of the Royal Solaris for a wonderful stay.Pat & Yuki M.
