Great property for all... families, couples, young, and old. It's very active with a great kids club (water slides, playground, indoor area with lots of activities for kids). It's a medium size resort with a quiet pool as well as a busy pool. Good food and lots to do for everyone. It deserves a high four star rating.
This beautifully designed Mexican/Californian style resort provides impeccable standards of comfort and luxury. Spacious accommodations, great facilities and a beautiful beachfront location ensure success with even the most discerning traveller.
Location: On the beach in San Jose del Cabo, 5 min to San Jose, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas, 15 min from the airport. Note: Strong ocean surf and undertow, swimming not recommended.
We booked through Costco Travel (which we love)First Cons:CHECK IN - took over an hour (this is no joke - 1 hour and 45 min to be exact)NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT- besides a nightly show at 8:30pm - there is not much else of nightly entertainment which was kind of disappointing.FOOD-to be honest this was very very disappointing. We have been to many all inclusive before and this is the first that the food was less than par. If the food quality was better - this would have made the trip 10x's better. it was nothing special. Food was usually dry, no flavors. My husband saw them open cooked packaged meat from a plastic bad and serve it - they had "boxed" mashed potatoes - yes BOXED!!! Breakfast buffet was the best time of day they had food.Pro:POOL: lots of open seats. Pool was not as warm as I hoped but was still nice to get into after being in the sun for a while.BEACH: great view and went on nice long walksSTAFF: very friendly and helpful. We did not have any issues at all with staff being rude or not friendly. We also were not hounded by the timeshare people which was good!!PIZZA: the pizza hut was the best food they had which we ate daily. They are made fresh and yummy!OVERALL - We had a good time. It was nice and relaxing. I do not think we would go back unless the food quality improved a lot. We love to eat so this was a big issue for us. The water park for kids and day activities in the pool area as well.
We had a good time the place is very small only 1 big pool if you don't get there early enough you wont get a spot the 2 special restaurants didn't have enough staff to work and waited long time also if you don't called by 9:30 am of same day you wouldn't be able to get an appointment the main buffet was small very basic nothing fancy the staff was very good and helpful
Our stay was from Jan 7 - 14, 2018Information given to visitors need to be the same & consistent from all sources. From being told that yes the water was safe to drink, by resort staff to having your airline representative say no it was not. Being told there was no ATM on site to finding one yourself.Let me start by saying that the staff at the resort were amazing. The rooms were clean and neat. Dated a bit but still clean and neat. I did not find the balcony small, we thought it was perfect for what it was needed for.HOWEVER, there is defiantly a 2 tier system in place. The "members" enjoyed their own private breakfast every morning, along with other events throughout the evenings that we were not able to enjoy. Members seemed to enjoy more amenities in plain site than anyone else. While I understand that membership anywhere has it perks, to feel like a second class person and not valued is disheartening. It was sad that none of the outside bars were open after 6pm and there was not outside entertainment either, why? It was warmer outside than inside. The entertainment was in the lobby which was freezing cold. There was entertainment in the Theater downstairs, but it was not the greatest. The dancing was good. The shows not the best. The food.............. yuck yuck and yuck. One buffet, the Cafe Solaris was open always. Breakfast foods were cold and if you wanted bacon you had to ask for it as it was not out in the open. In general all the food in the buffet, be it at breakfast, lunch or supper was cold and bland. Despite the fact that it was a "buffet" what you saw on one side of the steam table was the same as the other side no difference at all. Everything was duplicated on each side of all tables in buffet serving area. I would not recommend this resort to anyone I know. It is not at all what any resort should be. Just saying.
This was the fifth time our family has booked our vacation at this hotel. We were there from January 6th through 15th this year. We love the Royal Solaris in Cabo...what really keeps us coming back is the hotel staff, specifically the Entertainment/Activity Team! Our son is 10 years old, and feels like he has made friends for life with how kind and fun the staff is! My husband and I feel the same way. We want to give a special "Thank you" to the Team - Charlie, J.J (a.k.a. Chicken Wing), Ivan, Jonny, Jonathan, Rod, Omar, Kaitee & Veronica (sorry if we forgot anyone or misspelled names)...I don't know how they do it, but they remember your name immediately when you tell them, and then every time they see you, they address you by name. It really helps to make you feel at home and welcome. They are so amazing - everyday they have fun games for the hotel guests: ping pong, beach volleyball, bingo, water aerobics, belly flop contests, bocce ball...you name it! They make sitting by the pool so enjoyable with the music they play and the fun they have! Then each evening, they entertain the hotel guests with their musical shows - dancing, singing, comedy. They are all so talented!!The waiters are also a wonderful group! We had Ventura by the pool (who remembered us - and we remembered him) from previous stays at the hotel. As well as Tamayo at the beach bar and Uriel at the breakfast buffet. They also always remembered our names and addressed us by name. They also remember our drinks of choice by the pool and Uriel always knew to bring the coffee and cream at breakfast and took such good care of our son too! We honestly cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel. We miss them already and can't wait to be back!! They really are what keeps us coming back!Other things we enjoy about the hotel itself is the swim up pool bar, the bar close to the beach, the pool area - it is quite large. We started coming to this resort for the Kids' pool area, which is fantastic. Our son has outgrown that area, but it's a great feature if you have younger kids. The afternoon food selections at the snack bar are great. They also have a pizza snack bar from noon to 5 (maybe 6?) that has amazing pizza!! They cook it in a pizza oven and make it to order. We highly recommend this hotel (it truly is beachfront!) and we will certainly be back!!
Had an AMAZING time. Was here for 4 days and it was pretty perfect. The location is ideal. The beach is pristine. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The staff was committed to making sure EVERYONE had a great stay. The bar staff was top notch, serving great drinks. The theater was great! Loved Freak Show! Ivan Estrada was awesome in the gym, in the shows AND playing beach volleyball. Great food selections the different restaurants, as well. They were even putting new beds in all the rooms. I only wish the Wifi signal was stronger, but I wasn't spending much time on my phone. I will be back for sure and will tell all my friends about the wonderful time I had. Thank you Royal Solaris!
