Great property for all... families, couples, young, and old. It's very active with a great kids club (water slides, playground, indoor area with lots of activities for kids). It's a medium size resort with a quiet pool as well as a busy pool. Good food and lots to do for everyone. It deserves a high four star rating.
This beautifully designed Mexican/Californian style resort provides impeccable standards of comfort and luxury. Spacious accommodations, great facilities and a beautiful beachfront location ensure success with even the most discerning traveller.
Location: On the beach in San Jose del Cabo, 5 min to San Jose, 30 min to Cabo San Lucas, 15 min from the airport. Note: Strong ocean surf and undertow, swimming not recommended.
So, I came to stay here alone for 4 days 3 nights and this is actually an ideal place to do that. It's a small hotel so the whole staff is very attentive. The food is good too and I recommend reserving a table at the Italian place. The pools are heated and the adult section is nice. Mostly older couples and families here, although, there isn't much for children to do. This isn't a place to party, it's a place to relax. Veronica showed me around and helped me buy tickets for a special event and set up a spa day for myself. She made my trip extremely easy and enjoyable. Room service is also quick but every time you order there is a 5 dollar fee.
This was my first bad experience traveling to an all inclusive resort. First day was full of haggling, long wait for check in. Reservation was inaccurately recorded on the resorts end and the food was awful. I spent money outside of the resort just on food. My room had roaches and other bugs. I complained and was upgraded to a room that had no hot water due to plumbing issues. The only plus was the friendly customer service.
Our member services representative was Liliana. She took good care of us during our 2 week stay. Thanks, Liliana and to the entire staff. We always feel that we are welcomed and well taken care of. Carol and Jeff E
Arrived at the Royal Solaris Resort in January 2017. After arriving at the resort check in was slow due to the influx of new arrivals. At 3 p.m. the room was not ready. Wasted time hanging around with hand luggage in tow. My other suitcase was put in a locked secure storage area. Things happen.I had lunch at the buffet and enjoyed the resort while waiting for the room to be ready. The room I had was spacious, clean and with a view of the street. I thought it would be noisy but it wasn't.This resort has an option to sign up to become a member. Members get more perks. One can speak with a concierge about the membership perks and any other questionsone may have. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the resort. No pressure. The concierge also can assist guests with an orientation of the resort and area. There are representatives from the package tour companies seated at the far end of the hotel lobby. I booked a sailing tour with my representative. There are specialty restaurants at the resort. Be sure to reserve early as they do fill up.I dined at the Mexican (Pancho's) and Marco Polo ( Italian, Mediterranean, and Frenchcuisine). The food, taste, presentation and service are excellent. One can also choose to dine under the stars on the patio or inside the restaurant. I highly recommend dining there. In the Theatro Teotehuacan, which is down the stairs in the lobby, there is a huge buffet and show. The entertainment was excellent.By the pool area close to the beach, they make mini pizzas for an afternoon snack. There is also some entertainment in the lobby area. I especially enjoyed the Mexican Mariachis one evening in the lobby. Some evenings there are craft vendors also in thelobby. The resort is within walking distance to La Mega(Le Comer) shopping area.I also walked from the Royal Solaris to Walmart which took a little longer. There is WiFi but difficult to access. Check with the front desk. There is an estuary close by within walking distance along the beach or from thetown of San Jose. I really enjoyed this resort and all it has to offer. The staff are friendly, and look after their guests well.
We recently spent 8 days at the Royal Solaris (we ranged in age from 15 - 75 years) and we all had a great time! I have stayed at quite a few all-inclusive resorts but this was by far my favourite. I am not sure why this is rated only 3 1/2 star, it really had no faults.THE PRO'S:The room was very big, our deck was HUGE and everything was kept spotlessly clean. We had a room on the 4th floor, facing the (quiet) street. I really enjoyed it. There was no pool noise, I could enjoy the lights from the strip & the view of the hills was beautiful. I loved it. Our room cleaner, Carmen, did a wonderful job! If I go again, I would ask for a room facing the street. The pool was fantastic. Not busy, very clean, relaxing and yummy drinks delivered constantly and quickly by the wonderful Ramon! Ramon was great and very attentive. 5 star! The beach was really nice. I spent time sunbathing by myself and was never hassled or bothered by vendors AT ALL. There is a roped off area with beach chairs but it is always nice to lay by the water and listen to the waves. There were people swimming here, though it wasn't recommended. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Check in and check out went very smoothly. Like I said, Ramon was great! The food was ok. Typical all-inclusive fare. I wasn't cooking, so I had zero complaints about being served fresh fruit, tortillas and freshly made omelettes! :)The area around the resort is kept really clean & I felt very safe going for walks or sending the teenagers out to the store or to take the 11 peso bus up to La Comer (similar to Walmart). It has a much different feel than Puerto Vallarta. Everything seems a bit more relaxed, cleaner and low-key. We booked a catamaran trip from Cabo to go out in to the bay for the day. It was a lot of fun but in hindsight, for the price we paid, a small private boat would have been a better deal. We did get a really nice lunch on board though and the drinks were free-flowing! We stopped at a small beach for a couple of hours and I was assured that there were no jellyfish. There must have recently been a hatching because there were babies everywhere. The stings were NOT bad. It didn't stop us from getting back in the water. It was too nice to miss out on! I would recommend packing a small bottle of vinegar for any little stings.CONS at the hotel:NONE! I recommend this hotel COMPLETELY!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I booked through Sunwing, which I would never do again. Through a visa mix up, my husband was unable to come with us. I was initially told that we could change his ticket to another name, but there is a "no name change, no credit" policy. That is $1200 down the toilet that Sunwing greedily wouldn't budge on. I offered to pay to change his ticket to another name but they wouldn't allow it, due to the fact that "they had reserved his seat specially for him." Thumbs down to Sunwing. Never again would I book through them! Our fault, but really bad customer service.
