Our Opinion

Great property for all... families, couples, young, and old. It's very active with a great kids club (water slides, playground, indoor area with lots of activities for kids). It's a medium size resort with a quiet pool as well as a busy pool. Good food and lots to do for everyone. It deserves a high four star rating.

enjoyable stay in San Jose del Cabo

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Solaris. What made this enjoyable more than anything was the service staff. Alfredo made sure our drinks were always full and just the way we liked them at the adult pool side. Our maid Angelica was so friendly and helpful and always made our room a joy to come back to, even the linen sculptures she left for us everyday on our bed. This was a great family destination.

Fabulous 50th with Family

We went down to Los Cabo's and stayed at Royal Solaris for a family vacation and to celebrate my 50th birthday. Our experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we got to the reception until we left, all of the staff at this resort took care of us. All you can eat food and all you can drink. I want to mention some of the staff because of they're fabulous service - our waiters Johnny "Be Good", Victor, and Luis who worked at rosmarinos and Marco Polo. The overall pleasent environment and attentive staff are remarkable. I would definitely recommend this place to whoever is on the fence. I hope you have a good time like we did. God bless! #CasaMiranda of San Diego CA

Had a great time

we had 15 family members and we all enjoyed our time at Royal Solaris. Very accommodating. Valintine was always helpful to us and made our check in process go quickly. The outdoor activity directors did a wonderful job at keeping use entertained. Robbie, Lara, Christian, Veronica, Rod, Omar, Katiee, Manuel, Fernanda. The restaurant server Johny is great. The variety of food is great and always good. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are very nice and comfy.

Spring Break (for a teacher)

We were trying to figure out where to find some sunshine for spring break and decided to return to Royal Solaris at the end of March after having just visited the resort at the beginning of January. Again, it was a great choice.I must say that the best thing about this resort is the employees who really go out of their way to make guests feel like friends they are happy to see everyday. We were so excited to find Guillermo and Josue when we arrived to let them know we were back again so soon. These hard-working, friendly young men were probably our biggest draw back to this resort. They are an asset the management should appreciate. We ate every breakfast and lunch at one of Josue's tables. He created special cocktails to go with our lunches and knew exactly what we wanted to drink each day at breakfast. We only had Guillermo at the adult pool one day on this trip, so we had to go find him by the big pool to say hola and wish him a good day. Alfredo was our server at the pool and it was great to get to know him (apparently he is Josue's wife's brother!). It was a pretty busy week, much more crowded than it had been in January, so we didn't get as much time to chat with him, but we did meet guests who knew him from a previous visit and they raved about him. It's so nice to visit a resort where the staff really connects with the guests. The towel game is STRONG at this resort. If you want your choice location, you're going to need to be out to the pool before 6AM. On the upside, it's a lovely place to see the sunrise! Rooms are still dated. Grounds are still lovely. Breakfast buffet is very good (shoutout to Lucy at the omelette station - she's got to be the smiliest person in Mexico!); be sure to try the fresh, hot donuts... omg, so delicious! Lunch is okay, buffet plus menu options. We like it when there's a street taco station. A lot of people seem to just get hamburgers or nachos from the self-service area or pizza from the walk-up. Lunch tip: no nachos on the menu, but Josue knew we liked them so he always wrangled us a plate of chips and guacamole to go with our cocktails. Dinners. The food in the sit-down restaurants is good, but the reservations system is a mess; there must be a better way to manage this. You've got to be out to get a lounger by 6AM, but have to call for dinner reservations from your room starting at 9AM (oh, and don't be late or you'll be eating at 9PM... and also be prepared to sit on hold FOREVER while you're trying to make your reservation). Marco Polo is our favorite. The food is great and the service is very good, though more formal and less friendly vibe than the service around the rest of the resort so we didn't get to know anyone personally even though we saw the same staff day after day. We will definitely return to this resort even though there are things about it that typically aren't what we look for (generally prefer adults only) and things that need attention (like the reservations system and the room decor) because the staff is so fantastic.
