Travel Ambassadors - Vacation Couple
We recently sent our Travel Ambassadors to this resort. Here is their video...
We stayed here for 8 nights in June and loved every minute! It is a beautiful place with fantastic sea and mountain views. We have stayed mostly at Sandals and Couples resorts, but we decided to try something different and we weren't disappointed with this Secrets! We were in the lowest category room but still had a great view of the ocean and could hear the waves crashing from our balcony. The room was very nice and clean. The shower was wonderful! All of the staff were friendly and genuine. Especially, Julio at Barracudas (he always remembered what we were drinking), Susanna at Rendezvous, Victor at El Patio was one of the best waiters we've ever had anywhere, and Freddy and Jorge at Oceana. The art walk in San Jose was lovely and well worth going. Janeth and Lucas from the entertainment team led and organized the art walk tour and I can't say enough good things about them! The food at all of the restaurants was delicious and plentiful and the drinks were top quality. Our favorites were the frozen mango margaritas, mango mojitos, and pomegranate martinis! The only minor areas of improvement we could comment on were that there seemed to be a shortage of wait staff in the outside restaurants at dinner and the house wine was REALLY bad. We tried the Cabernet, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc and they were all bad, almost undrinkable and we are definitely not picky about our wine. We would love to return to this resort and would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing, just about perfect vacation!
My wife and I just returned from 5 nights at Secrets Los Cabos. While the property is beautiful with incredible views, there are some glaring negatives that bring down the experience. Last summer we traveled to Excellence Playa Mujeres and it was difficult to avoid comparing the resorts. First, the food at Secrets was subpar, while the Excellence has phenomenal food. At Secrets, the buffet was fine for breakfast or lunch. Oceana was mediocre for dinner, El Patio was terrible. The hibatchi at Himitsu was fantastic, though the only reservation we could get was at 10 pm. We also had a pre-dinner snack at the sushi bar, which was solid. Suprisingly, the food from room service was probably the best we had all week. Delivery time was 30-45 minutes, but it was really good.Second, the service was good, but we were spoiled by the amazing service at Excellence. Wait staff and bartenders were ok, but not overly friendly. Finally, the resort has 2 pools. The large one is fun, but it gets rowdy throughout the day and the entertainment staff really pushes activities like pool volleyball and water aerobics. We enjoyed that for a day, but was too rowdy for our tastes. The other pool is an infinity pool by Oceana with incredible views. Its much more quiet and relaxed. My criticism is that its far too small with too few chairs for the demand. It should be much larger.Overall, this resort is fine, but fine is simply not good enough for the one vacation we take a year. We'll stick with Excellence resorts.
I can't say enough good things about this resort. Good service, good food, gorgeous hotel with amazing views. Lots of dining options, decent entertainment and a golf course overlooking the ocean. The only real con: the beach isn't swimmable. Perfect place to relax!!
This resort is wonderful, they go out of their way to treat & pamper you. The rooms are great, the food is excellent, and the drinks are plenty! The pool bartender's work their tails off! (So Take Care of Them!!!) The servers at each restaurant were extremely accommodating & basically at our beckon call with whatever we wished for! I came with a big group, we were waited on hand & foot for the length of our 6 day stay. We took a trip into town visiting Mango Deck, Giggling Marlin and Cabo Wabo , I felt safe & had fun! I personally can't wait to return to Cabo!
We travelled with my mother and handicapped sister this time to secrets in Los Cabos. They were fabulous with both of them. Went out of their way to make sure that Frances always had a dance partner and hugs every day. She became the belle of the ball. My mother couldn't believe the food and the service. They would fetch her a special chair everyday so that she could join us at the pool and always had the special drink of the day delivered promptly. My mother mentioned a number of times that she had never had a holiday like the one she shared with us at Secrets. A special memory that will always be cherished. She is 86 this year so Im not sure how many more experiences like this we will get to share.
