Great resort! Excellent service. Food is excellent as well. So many great things to say about this resort. Only complaints are mini fridge is stocked with hot drinks and you can't take more than two drinks from the preferred clubhouse. Wanted to relax in pool in swim up suite and had to keep ordering drinks or walking to clubhouse. Also don't care too much about the push to have breakfast and listen to the vacation offers. We declined the breakfast because it was our first day on vacation so 1. Wanted to sleep late and 2. Didn't want to be at a certain place at a certain time the next day. I'm not on someone else's clock when on vacation for at least a day or two. Felt like we ticked off the young lady trying to sell us on the breakfast spiel. Other than that Secrets resort is flipping awesome!
My husband and I went here in October for our honeymoon. It was PERFECT!!! We can say nothing negative!! Our room was amazing, we were upgraded to a swim out room! The food and alcohol was perfect! Our entire trip was so perfect that we only left the resort once to go get gifts for our kids, we were back to the resort within a few hours of leaving! We loved it!!
I would give this resort a 3 1/2 star. Beautiful well maintained property. Staff are very polite. Personally we are not in the age group for this 'adult only' resort and is geared towards those in there twenties, thirties any possibly forties. Main pool is very loud. There is a much smaller ' quiet pool, which is very nice, but if you don't get there very early in the morning to save a seat (even though the hotel politely asks guests not to do so) there is no room and the seats go for many hours unused. Lovely beach, but guests are encouraged not to swim in the ocean as it is dangerous. Housekeeping was lacking during our stay and there were two days in a row that the room was not cleaned. Very good variety of restaurants, and the food was good. Very loud nighttime partying until 4 or 5 am on a number of nights. Again I feel we were just not the demographic for this resort, as it was very evident that people were having a great time. Therefore, even though we would not go back it is a lovely spot.
I was hesitant about going to an "all-inclusive" resort at first when booking this last minute fall vacation. We were very pleasantly surprised from the moment we pulled up & entered the security gates to this beautiful property! Greeted with cold damp towels with the most fragrant orange blossom scent & a glass of champagne we were wowed by the views from the lobby ! Every angle we looked was like an ad for an exclusive 5 star resort! We checked in to a garden view room, tried to upgrade- but they said they had no availability. hmmm thought this was strange especially after we heard the occupancy was at about 33% No problem- our balcony turned out to have nice ocean views after all. Cabo has got it right- the service everywhere is simply over the top! I loved the secret little valet box near the front door of the room where room service can drop of treats,( for us more champagne! ) without entering the room. Why don't more hotels offer this amenity? We spent most of our time going from the large resort pool to the quiet pools down near the beach with amazing views from the infinity edges. Loved this pool! however the main pool was always offering activities like water aerobics & volleyball, oh and i loved their music choices by the pool- not loud Euro throwing music, but nice blends of jazz, classic rock & some latin music as well- perfect for our tastes! the restaurants were awesome, Beautiful architecture & design & lots of courses, by the pool -we loved the Guacamole & fish tacos. the seafood restaurant down near the beach was very beachy - with all white washed wood with blue accents; to me this was best spot at this resort- sitting on the patio having a top shelf margarita & ceviche & watching the most spectacular sunsets, no music, just cool ocean breezes & pure romance! Wow! I wish I were there right now! We also loved the sushi restaurant, it was definitely a 5 star restaurant from the design to the impeccable service to their 5 course meals that were simply amazing! later after these fabulous meals, came the evening entertainment, starting off with a traditional Mexican show on the upper terrace complete with fire dancers to festive music with a little folk dancing even an 80's style & awesome rock band who looked & sounded like they just got off the plane from Austin or Dallas/Ft. Worth, they were actually Mexicans! & way cool/talented!) Then down to the disco to see more dancing, actually some very sexy dancing I might add! a bit La bare like but with super hot guys & girls! Wow! thats just another secret about this place! Another evening they had poker /card games in this incredible giant bird cage /bar near the main lobby. A very talented women playing jazz on a guitar & singing- wow! she was awesome! So the secret about Secret's is that you can go here for a week & enjoy 5 star service, several dining options in beautiful restaurants with amazing food & yummy crafted drinks as well without ever having to leave the resort! We have been to Cabo many times, even got married there in 2011 at the super upscale resort in Pedregal called Capella at the time, later returning to lovely Esperanza-& once to the Monte Cristo estates which all were over the top upscale! & costs a small fortune, But with secrets- its a little bit of everything, no need for tours/ excursions or sunset cruises. Just a week in paradise-all inclusive, oh & I almost forgot to mention the little beach bar with swings on a huge beach- perfect! except beware this is Cabo & the ocean is super dangerous to swim in. One last major secret to mention- this is an adults only resort! We love Secrets! in fact we joined their vacation club & are excited to go in just a couple of weeks to their newly opened, Secrets Cap Cana in the D.R ! Can't wait!
This resort is amazing! I do not know how anyone can say anything bad! We have previously stayed at Secrets the Vine and Secrets Akumal, and this is up there with them! We traveled with another couple who has previously stayed at Sandals, and Riu and they said this blew both out of the water! We were in an Oceanview room in building 2, what a perfect location! The food, drinks, service, pool, house keeping all amazing! My husband golfed 4x out of 7 days he loved it! Also, the spa was so nice! Would def return!
