Travel Ambassadors - Vacation Couple
We recently sent our Travel Ambassadors to this resort. Here is their video...
We got back two weeks ago from the most relaxing vacations... I will start with the facility which is beautifully taken care of, not as big as other resorts but big enough not too small to run into the same people twice a day! Location: far a way from cabo San Lucas (US$60 one way) but definitely there is no need to go anywhere else while saying at Secrets.General overview: offers a wide variety of a-la-carte restaurants with delicious premium food and a very generous buffet (only tried breakfast and lunch there) and all meals were amazing! Is the first time I stayed at any of the "Secrets" resorts and even though they are more expensive, trust me, is totally worth it, offers way better premium (for real!) drinks than any other chain -very generous too- and amazing food with no charge (some restaurants include lobster in the menu, free of charge!). We stayed at one of those suites that even have their own (small) pool which is really nice and relaxing, basically the only reason to get out of the room was to refill drinks! The best part of our stay was the nice staff that works there, everybody would get out of their way to make our vacations just perfect, can't say enough about all of the people that crossed our way.Ocean in Los Cabos is usually very cold, so we only went to the beach once as you can't swim; however, just because of this resort, we will definitely come back!
I am again reviewing Secrets Puerto Los Cabos because we returned for a second mini-vacation and were not a bit disappointed. The service remains excellent and our needs were met immediately! Since we booked separately from the other couple, our rooms were assigned in different buildings but the reception manager took the time to accommodate our desire to be in proximity to each other and after some work, he arranged for the rooms to be next door to each other. The restaurants and bars are well staffed and service is very good. While the restaurant, Oceana was already a favorite of ours, of course we returned twice and Manuel, our server, ensured that we tried the special offerings. But this year, we also tried Himitsu, not for the grill for which you need a reservation, but for the restaurant area. Wow! It was amazing. We went twice and agreed we had the best service EVER! Miguel anticipated our every desire when we didn't even know what we desired! He thought our sushi was taking a smidge too long so he brought us spring rolls in the meantime. Mind you, we were comfortable, sipping tasty beverages and never noticed. He suggested a plate of mixed appetizers so we could try everything and ensured our glasses never ran dry. Likewise Antonio, the server we had the first time, was fantastic and made us feel pampered. Re the resort, the rooms are immaculate and well attended. This is an adult only resort and before leaving I inquired about scheduling a girls' trip in the future. Our ONLY disappointment is that we missed the Wednesday night tenors show. Three amazing men came to each restaurant on Monday evening and sang one song as a preview. But alas, we were leaving on Tuesday! Dang!
This Secrets hotel is lovely if your looking for lively action. There is one large pool and a smaller quieter pool, wonderful sea views but a beach where you cannot swim in the sea. Food is lovely best for us was the Italian, we felt it needed 1 more restaurant as there was nothing else in the vicinity. Spa is tranquil and adequately equipped. The entertainment staff were fantastic and being over 65 we still felt part if their enthusiasm. Jeanette, margharita, roberto, Israel, Lucas, and Andy. Martin was the top attendant at pool side. Said in the Italian restaurant was very very good.
We're a couple in our mid 50's and have travelled to many all inclusive 5 star ressorts for the past 30 yrs on an average of minimum 2 per year and rarely the same ones. So I would say we've seen a few. We had a 4th floor corner Presidential Suite Ocean Front ( 8417 ). Amazing ! The view and elegance. Wow ! Members of our family were scattered in other areas and also greatly enjoyed their rooms. Everything was so clean and manicured all over the ressort. The staff at the Preferred Club were all so kind and friendly. Special thanks to Ada the manager ( never quit runnig my dear jogger. Remember it's a lifetime passion ), Mario ( so devoted and patient ) and Ivan the nicest bar tender ( thanks for being my secretary). The entertainement personnel was fun and delightful. Blogodarya ( thanks to ) the Russian connection Anton for his energy and the very lovely Lea ( so pretty ). No complaints about the food. The sushis at Himitsu were tasty and of good variety ( order more than 1 kind and make it your meal ). Appreciated Oceana (seafood ). What a view at night. Enjoyed the Italian ( Portofino ). The breakfast buffet was plentiful in choice and of good quality. Coffee at Coco Cafe is excellente but the wait can be long at times. Although there are plenty of TV sets at Desires, it is not a sports bar per say. So don't expect continuous games, an on hand bartender and snacks. It's a Music Lounge that is attended from around 8-9:00 pm. But the entertainement staff will gladly put on a set whatever game you want to watch duing the day. You will just have to walk upstairs for your drink as the waiter when present is not always very accomodating until his service shift officially begins. But it's OK. There's worst things in life ! Plenty of towels and pool chairs. Forget swimming in the ocean. Sufficient chairs on the beach and a friendly bar. Always time for a Mojitos. The grill serves succulent snacks. Be careful or else your waist line will pay the price at the end of the week. Safe to jog outside the ressort. Go towards your left after exiting. The hill at the cross is a killer. Golf course is awsome. Wifi at the Preferred Club and in our section was excellent but was told it was troublesome in certain other areas. Wake up service, concierge, mini bar refills, housekeeping etc were all tops. Really enjoyed. Truely recommend. Would return. One last word concerning tipping.
This was a Mother/daughter vacation, and we couldn't have chosen a better resort. We enjoyed the food, drinks, spa, activities and entertainment. The waiters at the pool were amazing, especially Alejandro. Also, thank you to Alberto, in the dinning room.A special thank you to Israel for his expertise in organizing all the special events (example: wine tasting, cooking class, painting class). He truly made our trip memorable. We will definitely be going back soon!
