Fantastic

Service is top notch. They are able to cater to those with allergies and never made you feel like a nuisance for needing alterations to food. Rooms were amazing, as are the grounds. Pools stunning. One down fall is not being able to swim on the beach, but that is not the hotels fault. Book this place, you wont be sorry.

Over The Top Resort

If I could give this resort a 20/10 rating I would. 10/10 is not good enough. The resort is beautiful, the staff are "the best" and the food is over the top. Talk about 5 star dining - this resort was outstanding. Can't say enough good things about them. But even when you are a 10/10 there is always room for improvement. I would like to suggest to this resort 2 things concerning their outdoor films. The concept is fabulous but the one and only night we went - they moved to the film outside Desires Lounge and the lounge had Karokee night. Not good. Also, the evening film starts at 7:00 pm. Restaurants do not start serving until 6:00 pm. So if you want dinner and a movie - it makes it really rushed. My suggestion - move the outside movies to a spot at the resort that is not bothered by other entertainment and start the movies at 8:00 pm - in order to allow ample time for dining. Otherwise - a stupendous holiday.

First time to Los Cabos area

This was our first trip to the Los Cabos area. We knew the hotel would be nice, having stayed at the Vine, Silversands, and Play Mujeres Secrets resorts. The hotel is secluded and that is both good and bad. Good in that you had the beach to yourself. Bad in that you had to taxi to either Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo and the cabs are not cheap.Rooms - The rooms in the hotel are very nice. In true Secrets fashion, they are immaculate. The view from the room was wonderful, although set back from the beach.Beach - The undertow in the water is very strong, so you couldn't swim. That's okay by me, the water was really cold! Very pretty beach and very relaxing to walk on. We walked for miles, literally, one way and back. I think we saw maybe 10 people total.Restaurants - Oceana was my favorite. Great food (the salmon was excellent) and great service. We happened to be there the evening that two of the chefs sang and they were amazing! The breakfasts there were great. You could sit and look at the ocean while eating.Portofino - The atmosphere was really nice. The service good. The food was okay, but nothing memorable.El Patio - The food was good, but the service! We sat for 15 minutes before someone came over and asked if we were being helped. He was nice enough to take our orders. They were definitely short handed that evening.Himitsu - Was very pleasantly surprised! Didn't know what to expect. Our experience with Himitsu at the Vine was not very good. The food and service here were very good. I would have gone back again had we another evening. The only drawback with the restaurants was knowing which nights they were open. There were a few companies having their functions and the resort would close off sections of the pool areas and restaurants for their private use. Not a big deal, if you worked around it.My favorite part of the week was the evening movies. Each night had an Oscar nominated movie that they would show outdoors. We'd grab a couple of drinks, find a lounger, and relax. Although I still wonder how they were able to get first run movies to show at the resort, but I'm not complaining. It was great!Thursday evenings, the hotel has a shuttle going to San Jose del Cabo for ArtWalk night. It's worth the $15 each to go get the chance to see the town and stroll among the shops.

Beautiful place

My wife and I just spent a week at this hotel. The service at this place is great. The people from servers, room attendants, waiters, grounds staff were very friendly. I especially liked the entertainment staff. They were always cheerful and seemed to really enjoy their job. Anton was especially friendly and outgoing but the others we almost as good. The food was exceptional. The buffett, although not huge had quality food and i did not have any complaints (ice cream would have been nice)The four other restaurants were very good as well. The seafood one was our favourite followed by the Japanese, then Mexican and then the Italian. The theme nights were also very good. Good food and good entertainment. The week that we were there they played all the Academy Award nominated movies at night so there was always something to do in the evening. The golf course looks beautiful but was way to pricey for me. It would be nice to see them lower it a bit. There were very few people golfing and the high price tag is probably the reason.A couple complaints, there is a rule that if you leave your pool chair unattended you lose it. We found out after the firs day that nobody enforced these rules. People would get up early and reserve their chairs and then not show up for hours. We ended up taking turns getting up at 6:00 AM to go the pool and get a decent spot in the sun.We would have breakfast and then sit at pool most of the day.The other huge pet peeve for me was the time share people. After a long trip and running the gauntlet of time share people at the airport we arrived at out hotel and checked in. Instead of being shown to our room we were ushered to another area where a guy sat us down and tried to sell us a time share, Really uncool. I was rude and basically stood up and asked someone to show us to our room. Other than those two complaints I would definitely go back

Outstanding resort

Just returned from a week's stay at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos and were thoroughly delighted with every aspect of the resort. The facility, service and food are all top notch - you are left wanting for nothing. The rooms are really well appointed and immaculate. The grounds are kept pristine and the gardens are beautifully maintained. Every interaction with a staff member is pleasant and they all have the same shared goal of wanting to please. Other reviews mentioned that conventions 'over take' the facility, that wasn't our experience. There was events almost every day and not once did we feel imposed upon. Service at all the restaurants was very good. The entertainment staff are a high energy group that run events throughout the day and there is something for everyone - bike rides, volleyball, tequila tasting (highly recommend this one). While the entire entertainment staff were fantastic, we spent quite a bit of time with Israel, Lucas and Janet - this trio alone are worth staying at the resort. Funny and engaging - you feel like old friends within minutes. All drinks are top shelf and not once were we left waiting for drinks anywhere within the facility. Poolside be sure to sit in Martin's section. Martin is super attentive & friendly and was a big reason for our overall satisfaction with the resort. We have done various all inclusives however this was our first stay at a Secrets resort and I'm afraid the bar has been set so high we won't be able to visit anything but Secrets resorts going forward.
