El Cid Castilla Beach Hotel
- What's Included
Great staff at this resort. Just returned from a week of relaxation. Pools are heated and nice and deep. Actually best one we have found in an all inclusive hotel. There is a good choice of restaurants to choose from, best was Argentinian, great service and beautiful atmosphere. You got to try a Spanish coffee. Not to impressed with buffet, plastic plates , little tacky . All in all great vacation . Staff made this vacation one of the best. Service with a smile, hope to return again. Beach is also great for nice long walks. Fridge in room would have been nice and a king bed, but we made the most of it .
This was our second year staying at El Cid Castilla. We enjoy every aspect of our stay. We especially appreciate the friendliness and kindness of all the staff. One can tell when a person is being sincere. The attentiveness of the staff and the excellent care of the resort make it a place we'll return to time and again.
Fantastic beach!! The service was very good and the rooms and pool area are kept very clean. The a la carte restaurants were quite good, but not consistent. The poolside activities were very entertaining and the staff were very upbeat!! The beds were small and uncomfortable. Our biggest issue was no free WIFI. You had to pay and could not even get WIFI in the lobby.
We chose to stay at the el cid as it was the only hotel that was reasonably priced for both my sister and myself. Our entire holiday was nothing short of amazing. The staff were incredible, daily activities for both adults and children. My favourite was the giant water balloon fights the had ever second day we were there. The shows at night were very well thought out and choreographed and the costumes were stunning. I am really hoping to be able to bring my kids to the el cid at one point!
My husband and I have a combined 35 years in high end hospitality food service in hotels, resorts, lodges and restaurants. Years of this were concentrated in banquet services for upwards of 1000 people in multiple venues. We spent Feb 2-9th at Castilla, and remarked to one another OFTEN how impressed we were with their sanitary, clean and attentive food service and execution was. Everyone wore hairnets, some wore gloves and all work stations were immaculate. Uniforms were on point and staff works HARD.Reviews like "Brenton B's" show how some people just can't be impressed and will do anything to get something for free. It's too bad they wasted their trip complaining and making their poor attitudes, someone elses problem.Food related sickness takes up to 72 hours to manifest. They most likely ate on the airplane, and got sick a couple days later, and are choosing to blame the hotel for their common mistake of eating the plane. Those clear plastic bags are standard transport for bread to accomplish offsite catering and is 100 per cent food safe. 5 star properties such as Fairmont Hotels and resorts use this method all the time.In fact, my husband and I both said that our stay at Castilla in terms of Food and beverage, felt like the equivalent of a Fairmont property. In quality AND service. In a weeks stay, not once did we see anyone their phones. Service was phenomenal and it's only 5pm-6pm that food service halts to set up for dinner. Given the abundance of food provided, one hour isn't a big deal. And may I add, you are in MEXICO ...so if you can't handle a language barrier, you should try Arizona. We noted a few details we didn't care for with the all-inclusive package, but the Food handling, quality, execution and service was NOT one of them. Ignore that crazy notion, this hotel nails it.
