From the front end check-in to the friendly service in restaurants, bars and poolside service; I found everyone to be so kind and accommodating! Rooms were cleaned every day and if required, linens changed on the beds.
We spent one week from Qct. 01 - 08 2016 in this hotel in room 712. Rooms on the 7th floor were nice, clean and a good ocean view. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean. We loved it, we would go again!
Horrible view. Was on our 1st anniversary and they couldn't give us a king or queen size bed. Even though that's what I booked. Very packed, dirty, smelly, front desk rude, no hand towels, remote did not work. Cockaroaches eveywhere.
We booked a week all inclusive at the Oceano Palace and our transportation was included. The drive from the airport was around 25 minutes. Checkin was quick, they provided us with a code for free internet, a towel card, room keys and a tv remote. The provided information about the hotel and activities but they were in Spanish. I asked if they had info in English and they printed off a copy for us, no problem. They don't explain anything when you check in so ask questions! All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. No one was rude in the least! We stayed in room 416, facing the ocean. The view was amazing from the balcony and the room itself was spotless. The room has a king bed with an extremely firm mattress, dresser for clothes, free safe and a tv. The AC worked very well and kept the room cool and wasn't noisy. The sink is outside of the actual bathroom which is great and they include one small bottle of water upon arrival. The water pressure was amazing! There is no in-room coffee or, fridge or microwave. A mini fridge would have been a nice to have. For a room that was supposed to be renovated, there were a lot of cracks in the walls and concrete in the washroom crumbling. It looked more like it was freshly painted as opposed to renovated however, it provided a very clean place to sleep, cool off and shower. There are always employees cleaning, sweeping and painting to keep the property clean and well maintained. The beach was always clean as well however, the lounge chairs need to be replaced. Almost all of them were torn, broken or missing the backs that allow for adjusting your position. Many vendors approached us on the beach daily however no thanks worked very well. The beach is really nice and the water is really nice. The waves are not too bad until late afternoon/early evening when the tide came in. We never had any timeshare reps approach us during the entire week. The bar is a great place for beer but their mixed drinks were not very good. They need to learn how to make mixed drinks and buy a blender for margaritas and daiquiris. We also found the soda flat due to how they pour and store the bottles. We dodrink a lot of Diet Coke!! The resort was extremely busy on the weekends, mostly with locals. It was difficult to find an available chair around the pool, on the beach and in the restaurant during the weekend. The property also seems to have several local families and groups come in for breakfast daily and it is loud and impossible to find a table. In regards to the food, it always seemed to be fresh and hot but there was not a huge selection but enough so that you do have choices. Some of the meals were really good, especially Mexican night! I don't feel that the all inclusive option was the right choice for this property as they only have one restaurant that is included and it's buffet style. The servers will go above and beyond when tips are given, they did feel like they were expected. They serve really good brick oven pizzas and other items but you have to pay. It really should be included in the all inclusive program (bracelets). There are restaurants within walking distance as well, such as Nandos located next door and Vancouver Wings across the street. There is an OXXO store (similar to a 7-11) next door, very convenient. There are two Sister properties, Pacific Palace next door and the Luna Palace which is about a 10 minute walk. There should be exchange privileges between the three. Some people mentioned the street noise at night, as I mentioned, we were ocean facing. It was extremely noisy during the nightly entertainment which usually started at 8pm. They play music by the pool during the day and then a marching band comes by everyday around 3pm and plays at the beach...it's pretty loud. It was a very relaxing week and we enjoyed the weather, beach and Mazatlan however, I don't think we would return for a week long stay- maybe a weekend or long weekend. In my opinion, I would rate this property a 3.5 star.
I spent 2 nights/3 days here in May. the staff are great, the food was good and the service was excellent. it is situated right on the beach and has a great pool - kids and adults. The buffett breakfast is very good and allows you to sit outside, next to the beach and take in the views which are stunning. The rooms are air conditioned which when I was there, was essential and they are large with a great shower/bathroom. Every room has a balcony (ask for sea facing) which was great to sit and have a beer on after dark to enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the beach below. I loved it and would go back. Be aware that it is a 15-20 taxi ride from the historic center.
