Our Opinion
Nice beach but very budget. No frills, no varied food selection and the pool is very small. I recommend this hotel for those who truly just want to be on the beach and live off basic food and drink. You get what you pay for.

A casual, beachfront resort with good service and great value. The Oceano Palace Mazatlan is located just north for the Golden Zone close to shopping and restaurants, A short Pulmonia cab ride to center of the Golden Zone will bring you to more shopping and an excellent nightlife.
Location: Beachfront near the Golden Zone.

Updated lobby but still needs much work, no luxury

Walking into the room, I immediately noticed there is no bedspread or quilt - only a sheet and blanket on the bed. Also, no additional blankets or closet to hang clothes. The pool layout is very awkward; however, service was great and the fish was superb. No luxury in the room at all and be cautious as the bed has a concrete headboard.

The hotel is upgrading itself. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was terrible and hard as a rock. If you stay on the street side you will get NO sleep until 2:00 in the morning because a bar across the street as a live band which can be heard for miles. They start at 9:00 I think. If you want souvenirs and stuff you should visit Cheap Charlie across the street.

The Oceana Palace has Everything You Will Need and More.

We slated to check out after 3 nights and move to another hotel. but the service and the accommodations were so great that we decided to stay. Our room was on the 7th floor and we were facing the ocean. The view was great and there was an island directly across from our room. There was a Buffett for breakfast and lunch and the food was pretty good. There was also another small restaurant and you could order from a menu. The prices were very reasonable in both locations. True, there was music until 2:30 in the morning but music and dancing is a part of the culture. We had a refrigerator and a microwave. There was a locked cabinet with dishes and everything. You only had to pay a small refundable to gain access. The front desk staff was very considerate and there was someone conversant in English on every shift. They also advised me to buy my Pesos there because they gave the best exchange rate.I will conclude by saying that there were all sorts of restaurants in walking distance.

This place is very run down and shabby. The safe, phone and patio light did not work. If maintenance is requested you must wait in your room for them to come. There is no beach service as is provided by surrounding resorts. The staff is very unfriendly too, which is odd in this great city. I would not recommend to anyone.

Just finished a 2 week stay at this hotel.

This was our first trip to Mazatlan so we were unaware that they have the 3rd largest Carnival which was going on when we arrived. The hotel was super busy because of it but we were given the Oceanview Room that we upgraded to.The room had 2 double beds,a large walk in shower along with the balcony. We were amazed on just on clean everything was with all of the guests. We were unaware of just how inexpensive it is to eat at restaurants so we did the all-inclusive when we booked.Have to say that the food was not the greatest so we only ate dinner in twice. We did eat breakfast and Cesar was awesome! After the first morning,he always brought everything that we liked to have - coffee, toast, salt & pepper.Felipe was awesome in the main bar as well always bringing us our drinks. If you are looking for a nightlife at the hotel, this is not the place to be.Security did not clear out the people partying on the beach ALL NIGHT on our last night there,
