Our Opinion
In a great location in the Golden Zone, the Playa Mazatlan has long been a favorite of Canadians. You can opt for the all inclusive option or just go hotel only as there are many restaurants in the area. Right next to the popular Joe's Oyster Bar.

Overview
A Mazatlan favorite! This resort offers loads of atmosphere and superb service. The hotel's 418 rooms are nestled among lush, colourful gardens and towering palm trees. Enjoy the great stretch of beach or relax poolside at one of 3 different pools. Enjoy the nearby nightlife at the various clubs and bars or partake in the Playa Mazatlan's own 'Fiesta Mexicana'!

Location: Beachfront, 10 min to downtown Mazatlan, 30 min from the airport.

Beautiful facility

You'd have a hard time finding a more beautiful facility for the price. The hotel is large and exquisitely clean, well maintained, with one of the nicest beach fronts in town. Just beautiful. I'm giving it a four instead of a five because of the restaurants- food is pretty 'meh'. The hot tub is more of a lukewarm tub - although you can NOT beat the view - and the beds are hard, even for somebody who loves a hard bed. Those are extremely minor gripes, though, and I'd recommend this place to anyone. Just beautiful.

lack of loyalty to past customers

As of last January, my wife and I had been going there for about 16 years, and we always got the same room for at least the last 10 years. Not so in 2016! We will not be returning. We were not at all happy with the room we got, and tried to complain to management, but to no avail.

Great Time at Playa Mazatlan

Service is great. Staff is very helpful. Grounds are kept in excellent condition. Our family and friends have been visiting Mazatlán for four years in a row. We very much enjoy our stay at Hotel Playa. This year we are lucky enough to be able to share our time in Mazatlán with our three adult children. From the beach vendors to the market downtown, our stay has always be wonderful..

So much to love

There is so much to love about Hotel Playa Mazatlan. The location cannot be beat! It is right on the beach and at the very best spot - in the busy shopping area, near the big grocery store and not far from El Centro. The restaurant is huge and open to the beach. Andl the staff are so helpful. The rooms we had were large and overlooking either one of the many pools or beach. One drawback - I don't think there is a quiet spot anywhere. But, it was lively and fun. Always something to do and entertainment every night - almost all night.

We will always go back !

I took my two young daughters to Hotel Playa 171/2 years ago and had a blast ! When I got remarried last year we went there for our honeymoon. My husband had never been to Mexico so I knew he had to experience Hotel Playa. It matched and exceeded our expectations. The staff were so accommodating and everything was just right. So excited, we just booked another 2 weeks there in January/17. Great value. Perfect location. We liked the mix of people too, families, adults, Mexican style and organized. Betsy Johnston-Bechard
