Our Opinion
In a great location in the Golden Zone, the Playa Mazatlan has long been a favorite of Canadians. You can opt for the all inclusive option or just go hotel only as there are many restaurants in the area. Right next to the popular Joe's Oyster Bar.

Overview
A Mazatlan favorite! This resort offers loads of atmosphere and superb service. The hotel's 418 rooms are nestled among lush, colourful gardens and towering palm trees. Enjoy the great stretch of beach or relax poolside at one of 3 different pools. Enjoy the nearby nightlife at the various clubs and bars or partake in the Playa Mazatlan's own 'Fiesta Mexicana'!

Location: Beachfront, 10 min to downtown Mazatlan, 30 min from the airport.

Exactly what I needed to get out of the city

Me and my hubby needed a much needed break from Silicon Valley intenseness, and we needed to get out abroad. Later we found this hotel in Mazatlan it has a private beach with seating were you can be serve drinks and snacks. It was relaxing all the way.

Can't Believe I am Sharing This...

So sometimes when you find something amazing, you want to keep it just for yourself. However, some secrets just cant't be kept! This Hotel is an amazing place. My family stayed her in March 2017 and had one of the best vacations of our lives! We stayed in a family suite. It was large and spacious and had the much needed two bathrooms. It was missing a few appointments that a more expensive "grander" hotel may offer, but it was a well kept, maintained, clean, and comfortable room only steps from the beachfront. That being said, I did not pay to hang out in a well appointed room or for perfect WiFi service within it. I came for the beach, the sun and the sand. The beachfront location is what this place is all about! It had the best beach set up in comparison to all of the surrounding hotels. The service was always exceptional - at all levels. The food was delicious and there were always many choices and selections, even for the pickiest of eaters (I have two of those). This was such a low key, relaxing place and it offered the vacation that was just what my family needed. If a more authentic, smaller, more intimate experience is what you are looking for, then this is your place. We had a hard time leaving. My only suggestion or word of warning is... If you are a light sleeper, make sure your room is not on the west end of the building. A local nightclub does like to play its music loudly into the wee hours of the morning. But it seems in paradise, even I (a non sleeper) could eventually able to be lulled into peaceful sleep by a large bass boom. We will be back here again :)Suggestion: We booked through an online agency representing the hotel - there was some confusion with our booking - initial room description and room title of "Family room". I am a bit confused by this. There seem to be varying styles of family rooms. The room we were initially given was not what the online description was and what we thought we were booking. After some discussion at reservations we were given the room that was described in Red Tag's advertisement. Reservation staff was very helpful - perhaps phone and confirm that you are getting what you are thinking you are getting.

Fun Times at Hotel Playa Mazatlan

We went to Hotel Playa Mazatlan again. Its a wonderful hotel with nice ocean views. There are multiple swimming pools. There is also lots of seating by the ocean. The restaurants are good. We liked the buffet lunch. Service at the hotel is good. We were there busy Easter week but still had a wonderful time.We also like it that it is easy to get drink. My favorite this time pina coladas. My husband magaritas. The hotel is in the Golden Zone and even though the parking area was full of cars this time, it was easy to walk to the street and get a Taxi to other parts of Mazatlan.Rooms are nice; with the balcony and patio areas being on the larger size. Its easy to walk to the many areas of the hotel from wherever one is staying.Being Easter week, there were many families staying. They have several on site activities as well.

Nice location, beautiful well kept grounds but they need to work on the 'all inclusive'

We had a great time at the Playa Mazatlan. We were there for 1 week partially over Spring break with our two boys aged 6 & 8. The hotel is grounds are massive but easy to get around. There are 5 pools with 3 areas geared at young children, you move around throughout the day and still find a place to sit. The grounds are very well kept and very clean. We had a beautiful ocean view room. All the staff were wonderful including the food service staff and the cleaning staff. Overall a very nice stay. The only damper was our check-in where we experienced something we had never encountered before at an all inclusive hotel. We took a very early morning flight which is our standard and arrived at the hotel at approximately 11:00 am. We fully expected that our room would not be ready but were shocked to be informed that our 'all inclusive' didn't start until 1:00 pm. We were a family travelling with two children who had been awake since 2:00 am, to be told we had to wait to have to have lunch seemed petty and started our trip on a bit of a sour note. The other thing that was unusual was that the hotel tracked every single thing we ordered, we had to constantly provide our room number.
