This gay friendly hotel could not be in a better locations, it is right on Muertos Beach in the heart for Puerto Vallarta gay district. The rooms here are basic but clean. There are many gay friendly bars and clubs within easy walking distance from the hotel. The roof top restaurant has a great happy hour. Not available as all inclusive. The place to stay for gay travelers.


Overview
Hotel Blue Chairs is located on the beachfront in the "Romantic Zone" of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Located just a few short blocks from the center of town and entertainment. This beachfront hotel is a few steps from restaurants, bars, shops and some of the most popular night clubs of Vallarta. When you stay at Blue Chairs you will be in the heart of gay zone and in a traditional elegant Mexican hotel. Blue Chairs Hotel is incomparable to any other local gay hotel. Our hotel is ideal and known throughout the world. We are the only gay hotel in Puerto Vallarta with direct beachfront access and with deluxe services at reasonable cost.

Location: Beach front resort located in the Playa de los Muertos Beach, 20 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, 5 minute walk to Old Town and 10 minutes from downtown.

Best Hotel in Vallarta

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was the nicest room i have seen in any hotel in puerto vallarta. travertine floors and bath. stone counter tops, huge balcony in the room. The staff is very accommodating, helped my find things i wanted such as food and drinks and even delivered to my room. Best hotel and service i have ever had. Spoke english well. Only problem is this is a hotel for gay males as i did not know before my reservation. if you can handle all the half naked men in speedos go for it.

Poorly maintained at beach bar

this hotel is spending lots of money on expansion of rental facilities some of which will have little or no ocean view. The reception area is looking dowdy!The beach bar I have previously complained need much maintenance the deck floor is springy, From what I was this last visit its is poorly supported with large sheets of plywood only support at the edges. They have redone the washrooms but have done nothing positive for the food and beverage area. On a Monday afternoon there were many empty chairs on the sand and a minimum of wait staff running back and forth with orders. Music was very loud attempting to drown out or compete the music next door a green chairs. The sea food soup was full of seafood which is the only thing I can say. The serving of white wine was skimpy!!!!!!!! Coffee, guacamole sea food soup and one small glass OF WHITE WINE COST WITH TIP ABOUT 350PESO.STAFF STILL DO NOT LOOK HAPPY NOR FRIENDLY

Terrible

First time to puerto Vallarta. We checked in and within an hour was checking outWe laid online for the penthouse and actually was given a master suite. No hot water. No towels. Smelly water. Plaster missing off the side of building. Our room wouldn't lock. Was terribleNo amenities as described. No coffee maker. No 42 inch tv. Is was more like 20. Terrible terrible.

Awful hotel

When I arrived to check in; the desk attendant did not have any information on my Trip Advisor reservation as far as it being paid for. He did have my name on a reservation list; so I did receive a room. However, he made me give him my credit card and he ran the CC for the full amount; the room key did not work most times, the door lock was jammed and you had to wiggle the key to get into the room. I was supposed to have a room with a partial ocean view; did not happen. The sliding glass doors to the balcony had no locks and no way of securing them; there was not any type of internal room security lock on the exit door; except the door knob. The sheets in the bed were dirty; like they hadn't been replaced from the previous guest. There were only two bath towels, and one of the towels was stained and looked dirty; no hand towels or face wash cloths. The shower curtain was very flimsy, when you showered, it would no hold the water in the shower so the bathroom floor was constantly wet; the shower did not have a soap holder, so you had to set the soap on the floor or the back of the toilet. There was not one single chair to sit upon in the room, so if you wanted to sit and read, forget that; there were not any chairs on the balcony. The only thing on the balcony was a stone planter half full of dirt and then littered full with cigarette butts. The view I had of the pool wasn't bad; but to the side of the pool, the housekeepers would pile up several bags of trash and dirty laundry; and those would stay like that several days. If you wanted to sleep late, that was NOT an option, the housekeepers were chattering to each other all morning and afternoon long; and they would shout from one floor to the next over the balcony, and if they were wanted, some one would just walk into the pool atrium area and yell for them. I did not have any type of security box in the room, and only found out when I checked out that this was an option. Finally, after several inquiries from the desk attendant about reimbursing my credit card; he went into the business office and returned after 15 minutes and explained that they would give me a credit so that I could stay at the hotel next year. I explained I did not want that, that I wanted a credit put on my credit card; as I had already paid for the room. He disappeared again, for 15 minutes into a closed office and then came back and said it would be done next week. Upon check out, I asked again, and a different attendant at the desk stated that one of the 'bean counters'--his words--would make sure it gets done. I am still not sure if the credit has been cleared on my credit card as I have yet to receive my statement. If you want to enjoy the beach while staying at this hotel, you have to purchase drinks on their respective closed section of the beach; no enjoying the beach chairs unless you order drinks. The staff, of course, was friendly enough, but the room was a dump. There was an old TV wall bracket hanging on the wall. The TV in the room was only a 15" TV but it worked fine. Just did not have a sense of relaxing and enjoying my stay in this hotel. Thanks, Tim

AVOID THIS HOTEL!!

I would NOT go back nor recommend this hotel because it is simply not possible to be sure of what you will get versus what you reserved. Travelling with a friend, I had reserved a standard room with an ocean view with 2 double beds with a private balcony, free WIFI, cable channel, phone. That was my first stay and definitely the last.The weekend before, as I usually do, I tried to email the hotel directly to confirm my room reservation. None of the emails found on the hotel’s website work (got a mailer-deamon failure notice for each).We arrived late after 9pm with another couple of friends we just had met in the plane. Angel at the front desk had our reservation… but not our room. But did not tell us. After about 15min, he finally escorted us one of their penthouse on the 6th floor. Angel did not seem to know the hotel very well and had to ask his way to reach the suite (??). Finally we get there: a large suite with a very large living room, large balcony, 2 separate bedrooms, a non equipped kitchen. Then Angel turns to us and said “you can have this room for $100/night extra”. Of course, we say no. Just give us our room. “OK, for only $50/extra”. Nope. He finally give us the key. Obviously, Angel wanted to get some extra cash for himself here… I noticed I did not see him back working during the week.Penthouse was clearly under construction. Toilet was not flushing, 1 ensuite bathroom was not bullt, and did not have the full ocean view I had reserved but just a partial view of the ocean with view on other rooms and terrace with loud music. After 10min, we went back to the front desk and simply asked for the room I had reserved. That is when the staff, who beside Angel, was very nice, admitted that this type of room was over booked. They had 19 reservations for 18 standard room with an ocean view. So this is why they did not have a choice but to give us an upgrade. They were 3 people working at the front desk and none had any idea which rooms were available or not, cleaned or not. I used to work in Room Reservation for HIC and I have never seen that before. Finally, they offer us another penthouse (412). Similar floor plan, no full ocean view, but my friend and I were tired, just wanted to take a shower and go to sleep. Plus, it is still an upgrade and the suite did have 2 bedrooms which was a plus. However, the place was poorly furnished and simply still under construction. I would definitely NOT PAY the regular price for this suite and would not advise to book it. THE GOOD- Location: not entirely on the beach. But you cross the street in front of the hotel, to go to their restaurant then there is the beach. - Nice costumers: nice and friendly people staying there. Was travelling with a friend. Met 3 people whose we ended up spending the full week with, doing activities and going to restaurants. They saved our vacation but when it comes to the hotel itself…- My bed was comfortable and slept very well.- Very nice and helpful cleaning lady. THE BAD/AWFUL/UNSAFE- Hotel website emails don’t work. Forget to contact them this way to confirm and answer anything.- No phone in room.- Not safe: one of our windows were outside of its tracks so it could not close (forget about locking it). Another window onto the balcony could lock… but the frame was not attached to the wall. So someone could have simply taken it out of the wall frame and get in (I have NEVER seen that in my life!). The couple of friend who arrived to the hotel with us had their phone stolen on the 1st day. Traced it to outside PV. Refused to go to the police, no worth it.- Worse continental breakfast: a little plate with less than 3 half fruits, toasts, coffee. No OJ. Very long service even when no busy. Plan at least 1hr.- Bedroom linen and towel not very clean, white traces of sand, dirty towels (even 1 with a big hole!).- No fridge, no phone, no hair dryer, nothing to hang clothes, no table, 2 ugly rusty chairs on the balcony, the ugliest beaten sofa they probably pick up in a back street (see pics). Well… the coffee and side tables were nice…- no hot water when we arrived. Then we realized it was the whole hotel. Was fixed the next day but were told by other guests it happens quite often.- Quite noisy. Party and music does not happen every night. And a lower floor will keep you from hearing it too much. But in the morning, the noise from the 2 construction sites right next to the hotel will wake you up.- Jacuzzi on top floor looks good on pic, but does not work and have the coldest water you can find in PV. In one week, I have seen 1 pers using it.Like some of other reviews here, I think issues are more caused by the lack of professional ethics from the management who simply doesn’t care at all and is just there to get the money. As you can see by reading the reviews below, you will notice that the hotel owners/managers don’t even bother replying any review, or even thanking the (very few) average reviews. Says it all!
