Our Opinion

This gay friendly hotel could not be in a better locations, it is right on Muertos Beach in the heart for Puerto Vallarta gay district. The rooms here are basic but clean. There are many gay friendly bars and clubs within easy walking distance from the hotel. The roof top restaurant has a great happy hour. Not available as all inclusive. The place to stay for gay travelers.

Price is worth considering

We recently stayed at the Blue Chairs Resort by the Sea. The location is called "The Romantic Zone" which actually means a Gay area. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, since all we wanted to do was lie on the beach and eat good food--both of which are minutes from the hotel. The view from our room was the best I have ever had and the price was unbeatable. In addition, Mexico is considerably cheaper than other locations so we had a great value for our money in all aspects.I would go again in a heartbeat!

Love it but dang...

Love love the wait staff and general low key vibe. Comfy for any age or body type. The fact they don't take credit cards is close to a deal breaker tho. It's 2017 boys, your hotel takes them.....time to get with it on that front.

Very crowded ... not much privacy

I had been here several years ago and was looking forward to a return visit this Fall. Disappointed ... the property felt very old, run-down, and very "squeezed" by other properties. Might work for others, but I much prefer a less-crowded environment. The chair attendants were cute, and they made sure they were tipped, which I had already done, so it was a tad awkward when they asked again. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be returning. Sad.

Death Trap Accident Waiting to Happen

We were told to watch the Sunset from the Roof Top bar, This was a fun hotel to stay at. The Safety hazards in this hotel are beyond belief!! You walk in The staff does not greet You it is dark and dingy, Take a Elevator to a Banquet room that is dark then You have to figure out how to go upstairs as There are no lights on. Building debris, old buckets, pile of rubble in the hall ways, On top floor maybe six People including the staff, glass panels on the railings are loose held together by glue. The chairs and tables sit higher than the railings one to many tequilas You will fall to Your death. We walked around the hotel The railings everywhere were like this , run down rooms, dirty bathrooms, unfriendly staff. I am not sure how they keep this place open. Not worth a visit at all.

Past Its Prime

After reading many reviews I decided to book our 6 days, seven nights here for the Christmas week. Because this was the oldest gay exclusive hotel I thought it would be quite exciting. The BEST part of this hotel is that it is conveniently located across from the beach. From the moment we arrived it became apparent that this place had seen better days. We were given a room on the front tower originally which overlooked the pool. The pool was murky, foam-filled and foul to say the least. The room we had the first night was as big as three regular sized rooms so the layout was odd. One AC unit to cool this enormous space along with a shower head that was dangling from the ceiling. There were no towel bars, towel racks and the towels had holes in them. Our second day we moved to a room with an ocean view and it was more of an actual hotel room size with a view of the ocean. Unfortunately the beauty stopped there. Our shower had no water pressure and we rarely were stocked with towels. I actually had to get my towels almost every day and on one day our room was never even cleaned. Our sink in the bathroom area was missing one handle and it had never even been replaced and the sink underneath leaked water from the pipe so we had to continuously keep a towel on the floor to soak up the water. The hotel overall seemed like they were trying to do work on it but nothing was getting complete. The pool was one of the biggest disappointments due to the fact that it couldn't be used anytime we were there. Honestly, I was too scared to even attempt to get in it for fear of catching something. The WIFI would not even work on our floor and the two times we complained we received the response that it was always like that on the second floor but we could gladly come down to the lobby. The staff was, for the most part, helpful but there were a few that just seemed not to care. With so many other options and comparable prices, if we return back to Puerto Vallarta we would not be staying here. As I stated earlier, I believe this place is past its prime.
