- What's Included
This gay friendly hotel could not be in a better locations, it is right on Muertos Beach in the heart for Puerto Vallarta gay district. The rooms here are basic but clean. There are many gay friendly bars and clubs within easy walking distance from the hotel. The roof top restaurant has a great happy hour. Not available as all inclusive. The place to stay for gay travelers.
The hotel was run down and dirty, at one time i'm sure it was nice. There were wires hanging out of the walls, light fixtures hanging by the electrical wires and the exterior of the building was missing on one side of the resort. when we turned on the shower in our first room, the water came out of the ceiling. The second room appeared to be under renovation, however was still in bad shape and it was the penthouse. We had to run the water in the shower and the sink to eliminate the smell of sewer in the bathroom. There were missing guardrails and handrails in the stairs and balcony. The pictures and services provided on the website don't represent the facility, maybe they did 10 years ago. Half the staff were nice, the other half were rude. Even though we tried to make the best of a bad situation, we were very disappointed. Recommend staying elsewhere.
I stayed here once before... maybe 12-14 years ago. I do remember it being run down, dirty, and in great need of repair. I figured they must have cleaned it up- or how could they stay in business? Well... they haven't- First we were given a room on third floor... the "3" elevator button I guess wasn't working. After a while we just used the stairs. We found the room they assigned us and it was under construction. Torn up with people working. Back to lobby- got a new room on 5. "The finest deluxe suite" they said. We can let the photos speak for themselves.-everything was dirty, especially sheets-dental floss and condoms on floor-black mold on closet ceiling and a total of ONE hanger in closets combined-never figured out how to work the TV-no controls for the AC-refrigerator not working/dirtySo many issues, if we even tried to get these fixed it would be the focus of the trip. The establishment should be ashamed for these decades of robbing the community. Please don't stay here. Do yourself a favor and send a message.
You don't stay at Blue Chairs for the lavish amenities, or considering some our past stays, any amenities at all, but it does have its own charm. The drag shows on the rooftop are great, and you're always guaranteed to have a good time at the bar or on the beach. We have noticed some decent upgrades and repairs that have been completed over the last two years, and it seems, at least partially, to be heading for better days. The rooms are always clean, and we've never had any major issues during our stays, and to be truthful, we do like the atmosphere. The employees have been nothing but kind and generous, and they have the best masseuse in PV (Moses), and let's face it, they're normally pretty cheap. We're staying there again in a few days. It's PV, so you can't really complain.
Blue chairsCheck in was quick . Desk and bell hop was very good. Efrain was very helpful provided info on to do places and changed our room upon our dissatisfaction with cigarette stench in 504.The hotel Poorly represented and explained. Hotel is in need of massive amounts of renovations and upgrades from the elevators to the paint, plumbing, walls and most importantly the rooms that reek of cigarette smoke.. We were given a room that was so bad I could smell it before the door was opened. We were informed that they had no nonsmoking rooms and requested another room and they did change it. Free continental breakfast at the beach restaurant consists of a cup of weak coffee, a few pieces of watermelon, papaya, star fruit and toast. The restaurant on the beach also could use some attention from chairs to cups with stains and a visible messy looking kitchen area. Be sure to research what the area and the hotel are about before you book. I made this booking as we were boarding for flight I was very lucky that I made a mistake on the days and booked for 1 night instead of 4. We went to an all inclusive in the north hotel zone early the next morning.
Good: bed was decent... there was a small balcony that has a small view of the beach plus the ambient noise of waves crashing on the beach which i enjoyed...and it is across the street from Los Muertos Beach.Bad: The hotel room we were in had a moldy mildewy smell. Not sure how clean this room was. This hotel needs a lot of maintenance work. Music is played from either bar constantly from 3 pm till around 11 pm. We received a daily complimentary small breakfast of coffee, a fruit plate and toast in the restaurant/bar overlooking Blue chairs Beach. There are many better hotel options within 2 blocks of this hotel.
