Our Opinion

This gay friendly hotel could not be in a better locations, it is right on Muertos Beach in the heart for Puerto Vallarta gay district. The rooms here are basic but clean. There are many gay friendly bars and clubs within easy walking distance from the hotel. The roof top restaurant has a great happy hour. Not available as all inclusive. The place to stay for gay travelers.

Please don't ever go to that hotel, the room wasn't finished, sink was leaking, not cool water only hot, no tv or phone in the room and there was no safe...the staff were nasty, it really was a nightmare...

Blue Chair Puerto Vallarta

Checked in to Blue Chair on Saturday eve and was assigned room on 5th floor. Elevator was out of order more than 50% of time. The first room I was assigned had a bathroom sink that was almost impossible to shave or brush teeth as sink was setback underneath mirror. Floor was sticky with residual of soda. Room was not that great. I made complaint at front desk and asked to move to another room. Unfortunately I had hidden cash approx $350 usd and pesos under mattress as there was no safe in rooms. I realized my mistake and notified bellman who checked room and stated it was not in previous room. It took another day before bellman could check with housekeeping supervisor. Of course non of housekeeping saw anything. I will never step back on property at Blue Chairs and will stay elsewhere. Lack of Integrity and Honesty of housekeeping staff member. I’m certain that they must have had a great Christmas holiday with an extra $350 usd.

BUYER BEWARE - you get what you pay for

BEWARE the pics of the hotel on the website - they are highly photoshopped and filtered! Stayed here 9 days - we had a "new room" probably one the nicest there but as with everything here - it was 40% complete at best. No shelves in bathroom, the toilet seat was recycled from who knows where and disgusting. Bathroom mirror never cleaned, shower curtain mold, shower head was so lime crusted and disgusting you could not look at it. No bath mats in bathroom. TV had no cable hookup or remote. Kitchen wetbar had no plumbing. The floors were NEVER cleaned or even wiped with a broom by the staff. You had to wipe the sand off your feet before crawling into bed. Showers were never cleaned. All the building materials have been recycled from other places - railings, balcony glass panels, etc. Nothing fits together. Bottom line: if you are over 30, stay in the Al-a-Mar (sp?) hotel one away from this one. YES, it is more money but you will exponentially enjoy your stay much better

1 Star ...after second chance

2018 visit was extremely disappointing . I got the Master Suite and I thought the room would be better than the year before as they were upgrading construction 2017 January when I visited last . Things to note : 1.Master suite had a refrigerator and no kitchen 2. there was a table that was carved wood and you could not place a drink or plate anywhere needed glass over it . 3 . 5 days and only a total of 2 times was there hot water for showering . Ice cold every other time . 4- severe water and plumbing issues I reported 2 Nd day in And was a slight fix , and last night I was there I reported at 8:30 pm that the plumbing in my room and water was not working .i arrived back to my room at 11:30 pm and nothing was done about it . I let the front clerk know it needed to be fixed and he didn’t do anything about it . When I arrived back he saw me walking in and walked into another room . This is after I had to walk to the room and show him the problem . No staff there to fix issues . The security guard also was sleeping laying down in the couches and playing with his phone when arrived back late most nights . The cleaning staff is great and friendly . I would use caution choose this place . Air B and B would prob be better choice or other hotels near . I would have given them another chance but after the issue of the plumbing and water not being addressed at all .i will most likely choose other location next time . I am writing this review to help guide you as you pick your place . Blue Chairs is great location and beach is awesome and night entertainment and also for viewing sunsets .

"nope"

I read all the reviews before we booked and they were not great, but hey you are in Mexico and after all it is a 3rd word country so I take reviews with a grain of salt as everyone has their own opinion and their own views on standards, it is rated a 2 star motel on most sites and a 2 1/2 on some. The room was old and appeared to be freshly painted, the toilet ran all day ever day and you could only flush it once every 30 minutes for it to work proper, it had a new A/C unit which worked great, our ocean front view on the 1st floor was some what obstructed by the restaurant across the street and all the power, phone lines but was still o.k. higher room wold be great views, The staff was friendly and the food was good.. The beach was packed every day and the beer was ice cold and that is what I was there for so it was o.k. for my week of R@R. I could go on but I wont ! as an traveler I would just say "nope" it was one of those great deals to mexico but as a lot of people on the beach said its one of those places you would only book once.
