Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
The Buenaventura Grand is home to an excellent, friendly staff that take the time to look after their guests. The food and service is great, especially for a 3 star hotel. The beach at this hotel is quite rocky, but the big beautiful pool makes up for it. This resort is walking distance to downtown, so it's an excellent location! The Buenaventura has had renovations, adding 3 more restaurants and updating the dcor to make it feel more classy. Guests at this hotel have unlimited access to the Hacienda Hotel.
An excellent location right within a short walk to dozens of Puerto Vallarta's best shops, restaurants and bars. The setting of this charming, informal hotel is ideal; beachfront, at the edge of downtown. Pamper yourself at Buenaventura's open-air Shakti Spa or delight your "foodie" senses with authentic Mexican cuisine at one of the resort''s signature restaurants, seaside or pool snack bars.
Location: Beachfront, 5 min walk from downtown Vallarta, 20 min from the airport.
I stayed at the Buenaventura Grand January 23, 2018. I was very pleasantly surprised and very impressed. The location is great for getting out and exploring. The food was excellent, I enjoyed every meal. Loved the beach front restaurant. I found my room and the entire resort to be very clean. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and provided excellent service. Even though I had a Resort View room, I did have a view of the ocean, there was a view of a building next door, but the wall was covered in a beautiful floral design. If I looked down I did have a great view of the air conditioners Very much enjoyed the yoga on the beach.I would definitely stay here again..
This is our fifth stay at this resort in 7 years and I am constantly impressed with their establishment updates, improvements in food and outstanding service by their employees. We were lucky to get a nice room with a balcony and ocean view, the king size bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff did an amazing job each and every day. Our room was very clean, as is the entire resort. We noticed an improvement in the food quality in Fruitas y Flores and the Sunset grill this year, with more freshly prepared foods, my husband kept commenting on how fresh the breads and pastries were. I was impressed with more fresh cooked vegetables and soup options. We received outstanding service from Dahlia in Fruitas, she recognized us from previous years and always served our perfectly cooked eggs with a smile. We received outstanding service from Leticia in Fruitas and Sunset grill. We received outstanding service from Ricardo Gonzalez in Fruitas and Sunset grill. For dinner we received outstanding service and very friendly conversation from Angel Villegas in Fruitas.Out on the beach, we received outstanding service from Fausto and also from Eduardo, our beach waiters. The towel lady, Blanca was always friendly with a big smile.Everyone in this resort is super friendly and we would highly recommend to family and friends. It is close to the Malecon for daily walks and close to many awesome restaurants nearby. The stores that are nearby give better prices than the ones on the Malecon. We met many very nice people staying there from Canada and the USA.The wifi is accessible from anywhere, which is a huge improvement from our last stay, I would suggest when you arrive to sign into as many Buenaventura hotspots as you can and you will always have wifi.We were lucky to have a sea turtle come up on our beach during our stay and lay her eggs, the staff was very protective of her and cordoned off the area until conservationists could come and take the eggs for safekeeping. At the end of our stay, our flight didn’t leave until later and we had to stay at the hotel until 2pm, they let us keep our bracelets until we left so that we could continue to enjoy the food and drinks while they kept our suitcases in a secured area.We will continue to come back to this resort and am excited for future improvements! Thank you Buenaventura for a wonderful holiday!
This hotel and the staff exceeded anything we could of imagined after reading various Trip Advisor reviews. We arrived late at night and after a couple of bumpy starts (room changes due to moldy smell and no balcony) we were upgraded to a fantastic room on the 4th floor. The staff, particularly the GM – Eidel Ramos Torres went above and beyond. I’d like to mention Sarahi, Richardo, German, Fransisco, Raymundo, Ventura, Javier (Tuchy) and Paulo as well. Excellent customer service from them and many more whose names I did not get or have forgotten! The food was delicious. We could not have found one thing to complain about. The Pool service was fantastic. Those boys never stopped. Always there, very attentive, even brought us our lunch if we wanted. The location is one of the great features of this hotel. Located just before the Malecon begins, and close proximity to anything you could possibly need. We walked every day down the Malecon. It was always exciting and different. The grounds are very well kept and they are always working, cleaning up, trimming trees, painting etc. If this hotel is rated a 4 star, I would give it a 5. Top notch all the way.I typically like to travel different places but I will be back to PV and this hotel for sure.
This hotel is not for the snobby. This is a friendly, fun place to relax and enjoy the beach, beach front restaurant and pool. I love the small resort feel where you can get a lounger, the service for drinks and food pool side and on the beach is quick and at night you can gather around the bar till 1am and party with friends. Other resorts we have stayed at it’s almost impossible to get a drink and you can hear a pin drop at 10pm. There is plenty of action right from the front door. You are a couple blocks from the Malacon and right downtown. The food is really good. The service is top notch! We will be back. Thank you for having us.
We stayed at this resort Feb 1-15, 2018. This was our 3rd stay in the last 12 months. Needless to stay if we had not been 100% satisfied we would not have returned. Each visit has been better than the previous one. Yes it is an older resort but improvements continue to be made. Staff: The best you will find anywhere. Always willing to go above and beyond with a smile on their face. Front Desk: In spite of some comments made we NEVER had any issues with anyone at the front desk. A smile and a pleasant attitude goes a long way when dealing with the staff. Timeshare: Be polite and firm with rep OR tell them that it is not your first time at this resort, you are familiar with their offer and they will leave you alone. The room: Spotless in every respect. Sheets are changed daily and if any other requirements they are willingly provided. In room frig: stocked daily with 2 Corona Light beer, 2 water, 2 coke and 2 spite. Diet beverages and juice boxes available for the asking. Additional bottled water can be substituted for one of the in room beverages. Coffee/tea maker in room.Common Areas: Spotless and someone is continuously sweeping, washing and cleaning to ensure they remain that way. Previous comments have been made regarding second hand smoke. I have never witnessed anyone smoking in the restaurants nor are there ashtrays provided. I think that the suggestion to section off an area of the beach for non smokers would possible but come on.....which way is the wind blowing on any given day. Wouldn't it be easier to move to another seating area?Four restaurants: Large buffet with something for everyone. Woodburning oven baked pizza, sushi and kosher food, made to order omelets, pancakes, waffles and a smoothie bar. The best dessert selection!! Open breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a large selection of Mexican food on the buffet that may not be to your liking but hey...you are in Mexico. You will not starve as there is something for everyone.Pool side restaurant: hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, nachos, guacamole, mexican salsa and cheese sauce. Loads of condiments.2 other dinner restaurants available. Reservation made in the lobby daily 10 -12AM. We never had a problem securing our date or time.Bars: 2 pool side and one in lobby. Plenty of drink selection but not name brand liquor.Pools: One large heated pool used by everyone. One adult pool in "quiet area" and a nice smaller safe pool for the little ones. Entertainment: Not to everyones taste. If you are looking for night life you are better off in the downtown area. Check with entertainment staff for their nighlty downtown events.Bugs: We saw 1 (ONE) housefly in our entire 2 weeks stay!!!Bonus: Close to airport. walking distance to malecon (boardwalk) and shopping, large grocery store within a block), clean, SAFE resort and area, nice room, beach, food, beverages and most off all exceptional staff and management. Oh...almost forgot Yes, there is an onsite spa. We spoke to other guests who had stayed in other PVA all inclusive resorts. After listening to their comments we were satisfied that we had once again made the right choice in returning to Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Spa.We are looking forward to our return hopefully on the not too distance future.
