My wife and I travel frequently and use TripAdvisor almost exclusively for picking resorts and locations. This year we chose Casa Velas because of the great rating and reviews. This resort did not disappoint and was excellent! Its fairly small... definitely a boutique hotel with around 80 rooms. Extremely clean, amazing service, and the facility is top notch. Location is less than 10 minutes to the airport. Food was very, very good. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. For an all inclusive, it might have been the best food we've had staying all inclusive. All of the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed - poolside, on the patio, or anywhere on the grounds. Having the option of staying at the hotel pool or taking the shuttle over to the beach club was awesome. Beach club is kind of a private villa with a great pool and right on the beach. Restaurant there is beautiful too. This resort ranks at the top of our list of anywhere we have stayed. We've stayed at LeBlanc in Cancun and its very close in quality and service. This hotel is smaller and seems to cater to middle age and older people, but this didn't bother my wife or I (we are 30). We highly recommend staying at Casa Velas!
We cannot say enough nice things about our stay at Casa Velas. The hotel and the people working there are incredible!! The service is SUPERB. From Rafael who greeted us at the entrance and made us feel at home... to Jorge who showed us to our room and left us his extension number in case we had any questions... to Luz at the Emiliano restaurant who greeted us and checked in on us... EVERYONE we passed and saw was kind, welcoming and amicable. The room was everything we expected-- comfortable, clean and beautiful. We love all the toiletries they provide. If you forget anything, don't worry they've got you. They even had a choice of pillows in our room! We stuck to the standard feather ones which were super comfy. We cannot wait to go back. Luckily, we will be able to very soon. We are doing our WEDDING there in May and it's all coming together beautifully! Our coordinator, Laura, has been so amazing, answering all our questions and putting us at ease. As part of our wedding contract, we had the privilege to visit for a planning meeting and menu tasting, and what an amazing two days we had! The food is soooo good! Chef Daniel and his team blew us away. We chose the Mexican buffet menu and we got to taste a dish from every course. Even the food and beverage director, Cesar, came out to greet us to make sure everything was going well. Did I mention how great the service is yet?? The hotel had a few activities you could take part in-- we did the tequila tasting which was fun. Benny was a trip! He made us laugh a bunch. There was also a poker night going on the second night we were there. We did a lot of planning while we were there, but the time we did have to ourselves we spent at the pools. We loved both the main pool at the hotel and also the beach club. It was a cloudy day but we didn't care. We made the best of it. The all inclusive drinks definitely helped lol We also ventured out to Velas Vallarta, their family hotel, which had even more activities and fun things to do. Giovanny at the front gave us a mini tour of the pools and grounds there, which he didn't have to do at all. He kindly went out of his way to do so. If you stay at Casa Velas, I would definitely recommend visiting Velas Vallarta if you get the chance. You can use your all-inclusive from Casa Velas there too.Our trip ended with a good-bye from Rafael. We were checking out of the hotel but wanted to visit the town one last time and he was kind enough to offer to tag our bags and hold them while we went and came back. Look out for him when you're there! He'll make you feel like a total VIP. By the way, we visited about ten hotels in the area for our wedding and Casa Velas by far gave us the best deal with the best quality of service. If you're looking for a place to host your special day, check them out. They won't disappoint you!
We spent 3 wonderful nights at Casa Velas! Super short trip from the airport (less than 10 minutes)! Upon check in, we were greeted with friendly staff, a refreshing drink, and a complementary room upgrade (room with plunge pool). The room was nice and clean and bigger than I expected. The shower is HUGE! This is a smaller resort, not a high-rise. If you're looking for ocean views, you won't find them here, but we did have a beautiful, secluded walkout from our room to our plunge pool though. It was lined with trees so it was private which was nice! We never heard any of our neighbors. The restaurant never had a wait and the service was excellent. Dinner was good, not mind-blowing. Breakfast was great each morning, again with great service. The restaurant at the beach club was also tasty with great ocean views. Try the shrimp burger! We also tried one of the restaurants at the sister resort for lunch and it was good, but not great. The pool at Casa Velas is nice, warm and has fantastic service! Fresh drinks are brought before you've finished the last one! It's definitely a quiet pool though, no games, music, entertainment, etc. Oscar and Apolonio worked the swim-up bar every day and they were AWESOME! The beach club also has outstanding service! Shout out to Jorge! We didn't realize when we booked that Casa Velas was not on the ocean but the shuttle was quick and easy. We enjoyed watching all of the turtles in the front while waiting for the shuttle! Ask the staff for food to feed them! We did make the short walk down to the sister resort from the beach club and also enjoyed their pool. It was more upbeat with music, entertainment and poolside snacks/food. This resort is family friendly so if you're looking for peace and quiet, stick to Casa Velas! It was nice to visit a lively pool and then head back to the peace and quiet. ;)Overall, we had a WONDERFUL trip and will absolutely return in the future!
Yes, Casa Velas is beautiful and luxurious. The pool with the the swim-up bar has been incredibly fun. The restaurant Emiliano has a delicious, eclectic menu; check out the vegetarian menu even if you aren't vegetarian, yum! Elegant architecture, fresh flowers everywhere, spa, gym, and a gorgeous golf course, But, what really sets Casa Velas above the rest Is the friendly, attentive staff! I won't remember all the names so I apologize. Benny not only brought us drinks/snacks as we sat out on the terrace each evening, he entertained us with his animal impressions. Luz ( hostess at Emiliano) is charming, Bernardino (server) is fabulous, Ricardo the day server was super attentive, and Chris (Mgr?) was all over the property, helping, instructing, and offering assistance to all. I'm sitting by the pool now as I write this, tomorrow we have to leave. Andrea (pool server) is bustling around serving drinks. She is sooo friendly and efficient. We've also had great pool-side service from Clara, Rosario, and Freddy the bartender! While I prefer this quiet pool, we have the option of using the Beach Club pool (younger, party crowd). 40 of us came for our daughter's wedding on the beach, with beach-side reception. Laura was the wedding coordinator and Daniel made the scary but beautiful flaming coffee drinks. It was a magical candlelit evening with lots of flowers and delicious food! I have forgotten other names, such as the shuttle crew, the lovely ladies at the spa, and those at reception (and Isabel the concierge)and many others who gave such great service and made our stay here so wonderful and memorable. Thank you Casa Velas!!
We just returned from six days at casa velas. We needed a quiet, serene place as we had lost our son in august. It was the first time for my husband and he loved it.he had zero interest in a beach vacation but he will certainly come again after experiencing the level of care we received. The service is lovely, the grounds are meticulous. We spent a lot of time at the ocean club and Danial took such good care of us. We had a room with a plunge pool and it was warm with a lovely view of the golf course.im sure we will go back again. It was a perfect choice for us.
