Our Opinion

The kids' activities here are amazing! Crown Paradise Club is one of the top kids hotels in Puerto Vallarta. The staff here are lively and active with activities going on everywhere. This is definitely a lively hotel! All the pools here are busy and loud, and the beach, although huge and beautiful, is full of beach vendors that won't leave you alone. If you want to relax, you'll have to stay in your room, which may not be that bad as they are well stocked and comfortable. The food and restaurants are top notch but the service at the bars isn't up to par. There is a disco on site with drinks included. This is also where the nightly entertainment takes place here. Did we also mention that there is a water park shaped like a giant pirate ship? Great for kids!

Overview
The Crown Paradise Club is quietly nestled on a beautiful beach, near the marina pier right next door to the Golden Crown Paradise. Families will enjoy the daily activities program, Kids' Club plus mini water park, tennis courts, and games room. A Canadian favourite offering excellent value.
Location: Beachfront, 10 minutes from downtown, 5 minutes from the airport.

Great staff!

We stayed here on our first family vacation and the resort was nice and clean. I must say that the staff was great. The entertainment staff was extremely good with the kids. My kids all took a liking to Prashanti and Cristian at the pool. They were both amazing from playing games to carrying them around the pool to play water pollo cause they were not tall enough to touch. Great vacation!

Great Family Resort!

This was our second stay and once again we loved our stay there. The food was great, both at the buffet and restaurants. Lots of activities for all ages throughout the day. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I would like to mention the 3 staff members who went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our holiday, Erik(Mowgli) and Freddy from the entertainment crew and also young Erik from the buffet evening crew. Thank you very much for making our trip that much more enjoyable!

A nice resort, with a few changes, could be a it nicer.

January 26 - February 9, 2018. We booked through Sunwing for a 2 week holiday from Canada. The flights, both there and return, were uneventful. We are 2 young seniors travelling without children. I had contacted the reservation desk before we left to ask for a few considerations, such as a balcony and coffee pot. I got a prompt reply from Martha Ramirez saying she would try to help. Room: We were on the main floor, room 247, centrally located, clean and comfortable. **throughout the two weeks we found 5 cockroaches in our room. I understand that is common. The shower took a long time to heat. The room smelled moldy. Complimentary soap and shampoo, minibar with 2 beer, soft drinks and water. Tv had very few English selections.General: Main desk: efficient, helpful and pleasant. Concierge was great.Free Wifi was excellent throughout the resort. Prices for aspirin, kid toys, etc was very high at the hotel, but Soriano or Walmart is a quick walk away. Restaurants: The main buffet was adequate, did get a bit boring but the fruits and vegetables were fresh and tasty. We went to all three Ala Cart restaurants. The Japanese and French were pretty good. The Italian was the best. The snack bar was hit or miss. Basically just fast fry burgers, precooked hotdogs, nachos, and a few salads. There were constant pigeon attacks. There is a man with a hawk trying to control them. A losing battle. Beach: very nice and clean. Lots of beach walkers, people playing in the gentle surf and, of course, vendors. A polite "no, Gracias " was all it took. We enjoyed watching the sunset.Entertainment: we took in the evening entertainment once. It was not at all pleasant. The dancing was good. The hall was small, dark and extremely smelly! Pools: there are 3 main pool areas. The Children's play area, the main pool area, and a very small "adults only" area. We chose the last and were very pleased it. Mostly quiet. The pool was way too warm.. bordering on hot. The bar there opened at 12 noon. David was the bartender the first week we were there, and Jeoff, the last week. He deserves a special mention. Very efficient and nice and remembered our orders perfectly. Even though it was ADULTS ONLY, people did try to have their kids there. Security was on it in seconds.TripAdvisor puts the rating at 3 1/2 stars. I would say that is adequate. With a little help with the food, it could be a 4 star. We enjoyed our holiday there, but will probably go to the Golden next time. If you want any info, keeping in mind that we did not have kids with us, please feel free to email me. I will help if I can.

Bad outweighed the good, don't go.

We've been to quite a few all inclusive resorts and unfortunately this one was the worst we've been to. We were surprised there weren't more reviews about the fact that adults are not allowed to accompany their young children down any of the water slides. Important if you have small children. There was a lifeguard on duty and all he did the entire week we were there was blow his whistle all day long at all the parents trying to have fun with their kids and ensure their safety going down the slides. Not to mention on the advertisements on the tv's in the hotel room and website show a dad going down the slide with his kids...People aren't exaggerating when they say this resort caters to locals. There are 3 pools, one of them was all locals, the other is the kids pool and then everyone else in the other. Most of the staff doesn't speak any English. Buffets are self serve, although there were waiters I can't count on one hand how many times we were offered coffee or drinks during the countless number of meals we ate. But looking around, locals were very well taken care of. There are no doctors or nurses on site. And shame on us for not looking into this. Unfortunately this was a trip where both of our girls got sick and it landed us a trip to the hospital. We are keeping that experience separate from this review but in relation to the hotel, we told them we needed transportation to the hospital for our sick daughter.. they were well aware of the situation and not once after coming back to the resort did anyone check in with us to see if she was ok or if we needed anything. In fact, we called down to get some cold water to help bring her fever done (explained our child was sick) and no one came. Called back and they said they didn't have cold bottles. My husband questioned them and 10 minutes later someone came with cold bottles. Ridiculous. Our safe didn't work the whole trip. Someone came to look at it when we arrived, told us they'd be back with new batteries. No one came despite us calling every day multiple times a day till our kids got sick & we forgot about it. Positive I guess was our valuables didn't get stolen from our creative hiding spots but still not fun having that in the back of your head while on vacation. Smoke alarm went off at 2 am one night and stayed on to the point of everyone evacuating. Then just turned off with no explanation. After calling the front desk when cautiously entering back to our room to see if we are allowed back in we were told there was a small explosion in the parking lot and it triggered the alarms but all was ok. Not the reassuring response we were looking for and very unsettling. No straws for drinks, not major but annoying. We had to frequent room service quite a bit. Cost was $70 pesos. Food was great. Better than the buffet food. Drinks were great. Restaurants were great. Didn't really have a hard time getting reservations. Food was pretty good. Beach was nice. Unfortunately the bad out weighed the good by a long shot at this resort and it was all customer service related which we've never had an issue with at any resort we've gone to. And we never expect much but this was a whole other level of frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone.

Crown paradise was a great family resort

Our family are pretty low key travelers. We don’t have super high expectations and all we require is a clean, safe place to sleep. This is an extremely family friendly resort. If you want a 5 star resort (that probably doesn’t cater to kids) then this place isn’t for you. We stayed in a standard room with our 22 month old. The room was very clean and spacious. We actually put the playpen in the closet/wardrobe that was in the bathroom to give our little guy some privacy and we were able to hang out in our room and on the balcony without fear of waking him up. We only ate at the buffet (we didn’t trust our toddler in the a la cartes) and were very impressed at the quality and variety of the food at all meal times. The beachfront snack bar was also great to have quick bite. The staff was amazing; very friendly and paid great attention to my little guy. Lots to do on resort (we never left). The aquapark pool had lots of activities and a great shallow end for the littles to play around in. The waterpark was a bit hit! The pirate ship with water slides provided hours of endless fun. There were slides for all ages and the lifeguard always ensured everyone was very safe. The beach had lots of places for shade and sun. Yes, there were vendors walking around selling stuff but a polite “No, Gracias” sent them on their way, unlike pushy vendors I’ve seen at other beaches. Overall this resort was great and I’d highly recommend it. It’s great for all ages of kids and multi-generational families. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Can’t wait for another daiquiri and mudslide!
