Make sure to upgrade your wi-fi; the regular wi-fi isn't great.Did receive an ocean-view upgrade that was nice but not a fan of the aging elevators or the interior atrium; hotel gets a musty smell with your towels but they pick them up pretty quickly. Beach is pretty swimmable once you get past the break. Quite a few kids if you're looking for a more intimate vibe, this might not be your jam.I'm not a huge fan of all-inclusives, but the alcohol was hit-or-miss in terms of quality of liquor and draft beer selection (if you have the lowest tier), but I suppose you get what you pay for! Lots of bee's in the poolside bar, but a cool classic rock band on Saturday made up for it. Pretty dead this time of year, and the lunch buffet was pretty gross but the French and the Mexican restaurant were quite good.Definitely go into town! Fireworks show next door at night was beautiful.
Attentive staff. Great food & drinks! Clean. Reasonable rates. Super upgrade. Low key and relaxing. Beach is well maintained. Close to airport. A quick cab ride to Old Towne and the Malecon. We recommend it.
We are a couple in our late 20's and just got back from a week at this resort. We have traveled to PV three times. This was a quality resort with great value! Check-In (5/5):- The front desk went above and beyond by providing us our room as soon as we arrived at the resort (9am). This was not at all expected as typical check-in is at 3pm. They are willing to hold luggage, provide wristbands and access to all facilities if you arrive before check-in time, regardless of if your room is ready or not. This is a big perk as some resorts won't allow access or may charge a fee. Beach & Pool (5/5)- Pools were clean with plenty of open loungers. Not overcrowded!- Roof top pool was never busy! Incredible view!- Beach was clean and not overcrowded with adjacent resorts or loungers. - Expect local vendors. Great opportunity to shop or work on your Spanish! - Beach was great for swimming if you are used to the Pacific. Water was warmer than the pool. - Service staff was exceptional. Often never had to ask for a refill. Food (4/5):I have a food allergy (celiac) and had no issues whatsoever. Lots of gluten free to choose from! Staff were aware of allergies and willing to show raw ingredient lists. Sea Fire Restaurant (Buffet) - The buffet food was excellent! Fresh and a wide variety of quality items. I had an omelet made for me every morning just how I like it, along with smoked salmon, fresh berries, etc. Mexican night was the best with el pastor tacos and live music!Fogo (Brazillian) - Go easy on the buffet in beginning...save yourself for the 8 servings of different meats, which they serve to you one after another. The meat was fantastic! La Cantrina (Mexican) - Food here was also excellent. We ate here twice. I recommend the tortilla soup to start and chocolate tamale for dessert! O'West Lounge (Sushi) - We ate here several times. We are regular sushi eaters and thought it was very good. Try them all! LaBonita (Cafe) - Located on the 2nd floor. I liked iced coffee for morning walks on the beach. No menu, just have to ask. Le Delice (French) - We went here for dessert and sparkling wine! Rooms (4/5): - Best pillows and beds! - No noise from other rooms. Very quiet.- Open bathroom to the rest of the suite. There is a glass door for the toilet. Depending on who you're traveling with it could be a bit awkward.- The safe was too tall for me to reach...so didn't use it and made out just fine. - Housekeepers were extremely diligent cleaning the room each day.- Ceiling fan had a mind of it's own at night and would go crazy once in a while. I was able to turn it off using the remote. I'm sure maintenance could have sorted it out if I asked. Location:- About an hr walk to the start of the Malecon or 10 min cab ride (70 pesos)- There is not much to walk around and see directly around the resort. If you like to walk and explore each day you might prefer a resort closer to downtown. - If you plan to just relax and take advantage of the resort than it doesn't really matter. Activities/Entertainment:- Free kayaking at 11:00am each morning. Just the two of us went out with our guide Eduardo. Highly recommend it! - Live music in the lobby most nights. Hotel is pretty quiet after 11pm.- If you're looking for nightlife you will want to go downtown.Remember to take small bills and tip all the staff often. The service is exceptional here and they deserve it. The staff's English is very good but I recommend trying to speak as much Spanish as possible. They are willing to teach you if you ask.
This hotel provides excellent value. This vacation package, through Sunwing, was very reasonably priced. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and had excellent service. Luis at the Mexican restaurant was excellent and accommodated our gluten free request. Our server at the Brazilian restaurant was also excellent. We usually ate at the buffet restaurant and we especially enjoyed the breakfast selection. We were very pleased with the service at the buffet, particularly Maximino, Ramon, and Miquel. All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. The food at all three restaurants was very good. The pool area is great and the bar service very good. We had sushi upstairs on several occasions and enjoyed it immensely. The view in the upstairs bar is outstanding. The rooms were very clean thanks to our housekeeper. There is not a lot of entertainment but there were some great musicians in the lobby in the evenings. We will return.
The best meal was breakfast but then again you can't go wrong with eggs. Food was cold most of the time. Rooms did not have enough towels. Staff were very friendly and fast. Hotel did not have nightly entertainment like most all inclusive hotels do.
