My wife and I booked a room here using Hilton Honors points. I e-mailed Paulina, a Guest Relations Manager at the hotel asking for an upgrade since it was our 20th wedding anniversary. Paulina responded the same day letting me know she would love to upgrade our room. Upon check in we were greeted by the staff and a tequila shot before being shown to our room. Paulina managed to upgrade us to a King Bed Terrace Junior Suite. The room was large with a balcony and upstairs was a terrace with a lounge chair, 2 chairs and a Jacuzzi! Paulina checked on us several times a day and really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The rest of the staff were amazing as well. Carlos made sure our drinks were full when lounging by the main pool and Hector took great care of us at the adult pool. The sushi was always fast and delicious and the rest of the restaurants had good food and service.Overall we had a great anniversary trip and will probably bring the kids back for our next visit.
Where do I start? upon arrival I am checked in and was given a king bed when I reserved 2 doubles as I was traveling with a friend. There were 6 in our party (2 to each room) our first room had view of dirty construction & noisy. Our second room had a slightly better view but was dirty, there was dust, even found someones hair on our phone. Our 3rd room (which came as a result of one of the members in our party being a Platinum Hilton Honors member requesting our room be changed) had a wonderful beach view which was better but still the cleanliness was not up to par...we were missing coffee mugs & glasses. Our maid never replenished toilitries, left dirty coffee filled cups on our dresser and didn't clean our shower. At one point we called room service to request more bottled water and was told "NO!" and hung up on. We had to go down to the front desk to rectify. Our room key's also stopped working on us a couple times. The food was atrocious, we put out pre-order for breakfast the next morning to arrive at 8:30-9am...when 9am passed we called room service to only be told they didn't have our order. I found the food to be inedible, bland and not resembling what it should be for example the hash browns, were just a lump of overcooked shredded potatoes. The sushi restaurant was gross as well, the only good dining experience was the Brazilian restaurant. Also, restaurants and buffet was not open on hours that it was listed as being open, our reason for booking all inclusive is so we could enjoy the food and not spend extra money on dining out. We had wristbands for premium liquor yet all of our drinks taste watered down. I thought since I was in Mexico I could get a decent Margarita..we ended up gong to the market and purchasing our own liquor, mixers and snacks which defeated the purpose of being all inclusive. Wifi was spotty and hardly ever worked. We bought day passes $65 pp for the Hyatt Ziva and spent the day by their poll, there food and drinks were amazing and their wifi worked!! I definitely expected more from the Hilton Brand and will never stay at one of your properties again.
My friend and I expected more out of this place considering it's a "Hilton" – but nope… completely disappointed. We stayed for 5 days 4 nights… granted it was "off-season" but they should alert customers re construction b/c there was only 1 pool that was working and the rooms that we had smelled… really smelled bad. We opened the balcony to air it out but it wasn't much success. The bathroom for a a double occupancy was rather "odd" – it wasn't a fully closed off bathroom and so you really got to know your friend significantly. Not quite sure if the architect or the designer of the place was trying to be modern but since I'm a designer, there is a boundary between functionality over just a complete waste of space and trying too hard. The staff in the restaurant as well as the pool services was exceptional but the front desk as well as the cleaning crew definitely needs more training.Twice our room wasn't cleaned and we left early as well. I called the front desk and instead of showing empathy and calming me down, the woman on the phone was very condescending and didn't have any solution regarding my issue of my room not being cleaned. I didn't appreciate that at all. I went downstairs to speak to the staff directly so that there won't be any miscommunication but to no avail. The man behind the counter didn't solve the issue neither did he offer to get my room service at that instant. He rolled his eyes at me and spoke in Spanish considering I was speaking to him in English. I knew they were talking about me and THAT was just rude. Completely untrained, unprofessional front desk / phone staff. I've been at far grungier hotels in Mexico and this by far was the worse. Oh and their pillows… seriously, 4 on top of each other and it goes flat. WTH! Seriously… consider the Westin or Hyatt next time out. Hilton – train your staff to show empathy instead of aggravating a customer!
From beginning to end the Staff was wonderful. We were greeted by Lynsette and she took great care of us. Give us a very nice room and explained everything we needed to know. Dinner's were great and the buffet had a wide choice of items to pick from. Ado took excellent care of us. Very nice location, you can't go wrong if you choose this Hotel.
The title almost says it all. The all inclusive resorts is definitely the way to go when visiting Mexico. We had help from the front desk staff and other staff of where and what to do. Everything the staff recommended was just what we had in mind when we first booked the trip to Mexico. The sushi bar at the infinity pool was one of my favorite places to hang out while at the resort. Not all of the food in the cafe buffet is the most delicious but what can you expect from an all inclusive place. The drinks paid for themselves anyway. I would 10/10 come back to this resort again!
