Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort

My wife and I chose Puerto Vallarta for our 40 anniversary/vacation getaway. First the positives: The staff is knowledgeable and friendly (they all speak English which was good since my Spanish is not so good), all inclusive - buffet meals were good. Additionally, there are 3 other restaurants on the grounds. I suggest a reservation since these restaurants can get busy at some seating times. Nice pool and beach area. Beach has much finer sand than the "pebbly" sand at the Hilton Cabo San Lucas resort. Also, there is an "adults only" roof top pool with a drink and sushi bar. Not so positive: Being situated in town, grounds are much smaller compared those at the Hilton Resort at Cabo San Lucas. Beach vendors are allowed to wander amongst guests in the beach area. All in all a very good experience, we would gladly go back.
We were to The Hilton PV for 5 nights with another couple(no kids!) and had an incredible time! My husband is a diamond member and we paid for our entire stay with points! You know it's going to be a good vacation when you are greeted with a margarita on the rocks! Joel, took care of our bags and brought us those margaritas. He was always around if you needed something. The same staff was always there working! They better get paid well hint hint. We were upgraded to a whirlpool balcony room which had a beautiful oceanfront view on the 4th floor. The room was huge and very luxurious. The bed was very comfortable! LOVEDthe spacious shower. The pool was great and the water was almost too warm (not that I'm complaining!). We loved relaxing by the pool getting drinks. The staff was super nice and most spoke English really well. We booked a zip lining excursion with Solidad at the hotel and she was really sweet. We went to Canopy Indio for that and had a blast(I'll post a review for that as well). The buffet food was good. You have to remember you're in Mexico! So they're going to have authentic dishes. Keep an open mind and try new things. Breakfast was good as they have made to order omelets, many kinds of fresh fruit, and the best orange juice I've ever tasted! We went to the French restaurant twice and their food was really good. Went to Mexican once and Brazilian once. Everything is included so you can order whatever you want :-) We had some confusion on which restaurant was open which night. As far as we could tell there was nowhere that's stated which was open when. It really should be posted in the newsletter or on the doors of the restaurants. We made the mistake of forgetting to reserve the Brazilian restaurant, Fogo, so make sure you call Lizette and do that first thing in the morning. The rooftop bar/pool was just the best thing ever!! No kids, an infinity pool, and the bartender kept bringing us drinks. He was very attentive when our drinks were gone to bring more! It was so beautiful to watch the sunset from up there. Bring sunscreen. We went Mid-June which is a good time to go as it is low season. The beach was ok but not my favorite part. I'm not big on swimming in the ocean as I personally don't care for waves. They do have chairs and umbrellas in the sand which were nice. A really annoying thing was the beach vendors (this is no fault of the hotel and they can't do anything about it). We did actually purchase a few things from some of them(barter of course). Just learn to say, No Gracias. My husband and I got a couples massage on our last day before flying out. It was super relaxing and I'm glad we did it. They had a Wednesday special for $99. Can't beat that. I would not hesitate to go back here and have no clue why anyone would write a bad review!!
We had an absolutely amazing and relaxing getaway! The facility and especially the staff were exceptional and made this a fantastic experience! The restaurant and activities were very good, and allowed for a flexible schedule. This was a first-time visit for us, but we can't wait to go back!!
resort was small bit nice, food was great, but there was no hot water which made the stat miserable. One of the supposed perks was having a hot tub on your balcony, but when you had to fill it with cold water, kind of makes in pointless.
My husband and I wanted a chilled out relaxing holiday, and overall this is what we got! We arrived exhausted, after a long flight, and found our room very comfortable, two queen beds with great quality bed linen. The hotel staff really went out of their way to make the experience good. The restaurants , three a la carte and one buffet were generally OK although the food was often not very hot. The French restaurant was the best of the a la carte and the Brazilian (Fogo) was OK but it felt like we were in a race in trying to keep up with the waiters delivering different meats and grilled items to the table. The experience would have been better if the pace was more relaxed. The location of the hotel was very good with a short bus or taxi ride to downtown Puerto Valletta. The pool and sea water temperature was about as perfect as you could wish for.The wait staff did an amazing job servicing the beach and pool area with an endless supply for soft and alcoholic drinks. Although we rarely revisit places and hotels, we would love to return to PV and the Hilton hotel again.
