Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. While there was a lot of pros about this hotel, there was also some pretty significant cons. The hotel is beautiful and in a convenient location in regards to airport and port. In addition, the staff was outstanding (excluding the check in process, I'll get to that a little later). The hotel is steps from the beach, with a roped off area if you choose to lay out on the beach. My first issue with the hotel was the check in process. As a diamond member, we did receive our upgrade, but to a room with a worse view (partial ocean) then our originally booked room (full ocean view). It was blatantly clear the hotel was at best 50% occupancy for the week. Simply by the number of people we saw and checking the HHonors reservation website. When I asked the desk clerk about moving us to a room with a better room, she simply asked if I wanted my old room back and said they didn't have to upgrade me. I felt as if I was almost being threatened with having my upgrade taken away from me just for simply asking about moving to a room with a better room. Needless to say, we were on vacation and I wasn't going to spend my first day there trying to negotiate or argue with the clerks. Next big issue we had was the AC units in the room. If you have never been to PV, let me tell you, it's HOT. Over the course of our 6 night stay our room never fell below 78 degrees. While that might be ok for some, it was too hot for us. In addition we met another couple during a tour who were staying at the Hilton, and they mention that their room never got any colder than 80 degrees. This was a pretty big issue for us, because at night we were basically sleep with the covers on the ground. This made the stay a little aggravating. Other than those two big down sides, the hotel was a fun and we'll be back.
Great Staff, lovely property, Dinning options horrible for dinner. Worst wine selection we have ever found at any other Hilton. The house wine at the bars was undrinkable. Beer choices was limited also. Would never stay there again as an all inclusive.
The Hilton does it again. This place was better than the photos. The staff is eager to please and will do what it takes to make you feel welcomed. They made our anniversary celebration very special. I look forward to returning again soon. A great value, a clean hotel and a warm friendly atmosphere.
The service was excellent. The staff is very attentive and provides exceptional service. I food in the restaurant was terrible. The hotel is very average, needing a remodel. I sat in a chair in my room that collapsed causing injury. Its great to stay at an all inclusive hotel but only when the food and drinks are good. The drinks were weak and we constantly had to ask for doubles.
The Hilton is a great property with an incredible staff that went well out of their way to make sure we were perfectly taken care of. The food is amazing and plentiful, the view is stunning and the people are friendly and accommodating. Worst part of the trip was leaving for home!
