Great Birthday Celebrations

Great Birthday (70th), Memories were experienced at this resort creating wonderful times and life experiences. Excellent accommodations and super service was enjoyed to our great delight and the staff went above normal expectations!

Beautiful on the outside- food was crap

The resort was beautiful, pools were great. Service was good. Food was not good. Very disappointed with variety, and quality of food. The location was good, 4 minute cab to Walmart, 8 minutes to airport, 8 minutes to town centre/ boardwalk. The beach in front of resort was nice

Service Made the Difference

This resort was a pleasant surprise for us. It is smaller, very clean and modern and well kept decor, nice rooms, pools, beach, great upper deck lounge with infinite pool...but what surprised us was how excellent the service was during our week. This resort has a fabulous team and is well staffed. We have been to Mexican all-inclusives about 16 times and can be fussy-picky travelers, but we do recommend this resort and we would return. See detail below.ResortThis property has a good lobby lounge, 2 pools with lots of chairs, day beds, serviced beach area with lots of chairs and umbrellas, more day beds. There is no getting up early to reserve chairs, pool staff will help you if you can't find what you need. The upper deck lounge and infinite pool is a must-visit for sunset, spectacular. They also do sushi rolls.RoomsWe had a partial ocean view, I'd choose full ocean view next time, but rooms have everything you need including patio and all the basics. Housekeeping was perfect - no early knocks on the door and room was always clean and stocked. FoodThere is one main buffet and it excellent. Sometimes at a buffet the signs don't match what's out or food seems like it's been out too long or they run out of stuff - none of those annoyances happened at this buffet at all. The chefs are always out checking on the food, replacing, cleaning, replenishing. They were out and visible each time we visited. It's fresh, clean, good quality and always staff cooking speciality items.The seating is great too - outdoor seating with really excellent views of pool and beach, indoor with nice decor, well staff and great service - I really enjoyed this buffet.Dolores on eggs in the morning is fantastic.Otherwise there is a French restaurant which we ate at 3-4 times, good food and Isidra is the server to see, she's awesome.We didn't go to the Mexican restaurant but there is one.Fogo is a Brazilian BBQ for meat lovers, generous options to try various cuts of meat.The beach bar food is also very good during the afternoon and servers will bring it to you at beach or pool, customized to your preferences.Sushi rolls are served at the upper lounge and the chef there will make you what you want if you don't see it on the menu.Overall it felt like there were less options for supper, but the location is so central, one night we went out for seafood downtown.ServiceThese were the people who provided us excellent service during our stay - not just friendly and helpful and available and prompt, but professional and always going the extra step:Salvador by the poolRoberto on the beachLuis at dinnerJavier at the barWe also had one service issue - we'd ordered an ice bucket to chill some wine we'd bought, and they said a few minutes but after 35 minutes it wasn't there, we called again and they said another 15 minutes, my husband called to complain and a manager, Cristobal, ran to get it himself, brought it right up and apologized profusely. We saw this manager/captain regularly during our stay and his focus on service is evident. He and the other Captains check on the guests, help out with everything, support their teams, and model the way for great service.I could actually name the whole team - service was really excellent at every turn.BeachWe liked the beach. We swam, generally either early before surf was up, or we walked down to a few areas with bays and sandy bottoms. You can kayak early too. Sand is good, view is perfect. Not a lot of water sports but you can walk down and rent anything you feel like. GymWe did not love the gym. If you want cardio machines and free weights you'll be fine. Otherwise they need a few more machines and/or get the missing straps/accessories for the few multifunction machines they do have. Check InSo the front desk is also well staffed and check in was easy. I do recommend a new orientation process at check in. When we arrived at 11:30 our room wasn't ready and we were to come back at 3. The representative gave us our wrist bands and said, "OK?" I said - "ok sure - what do you recommend we do right now, what do you have for restaurants, what's open now, do you have a resort map, what's the WiFi password...", at Canadian Hiltons there's a brief orientation process where they make you feel great about all the hotel has to offer and what you might want to do during your wait. Because in the end we had a great meal, toured the resort, then had some drinks by the pool while we waited, and it was all good.Thank you to the Hilton team for making us feel like valued guests the whole week.

This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! We went as a family of 4 & the 2 rooms we were allocated were disgusting! They were dark & full of dust - don't think they had ever been cleaned! There was hardly any choice of food throughout the day! There was just 1 table laid out with food at breakfast, lunch & dinner. The staff were also very rude at all times. There was no entertainment & overall it was very boring. Wish we had booked somewhere else. This hotel is a total rip off for what it charges! Keep well away!

Excellent Stay!

We were a group of 6 and we had a great tie at the Hilton. All of the staff was very friendly. Javier in particular was always ready to serve us when we arrived. Overall a great holiday. We will definitely return.
